Its [[VideoGame/PokemonXAndY Mega-Evolved forms]] are so powerful that it even upstages '''[[{{God}} Arceus Itself]]'''. And if the Berserker Gene from VideoGame/PokemonGoldAndSilver really is derived from Mewtwo, mere strands of its DNA are enough to drive any Pokémon ''[[PsychoSerum completely]] [[AxCrazy insane]].''

* Some Ghost-type Pokémon behave and act in ways that make clear that [[DarkIsNotEvil although they may be friendly,]] [[UndeadAbomination there is something wrong about them.]] Although never [[AmbiguousSituation stated outright]] it's canon that at least some of them used to be humans. They tend to be [[EmotionEater emotion eaters]] with [[RealityWarper uncanny magical powers]] such as shadow manipulation and some of them even actively hunt humans. Furthermore, there is the fact that there are Pokémon which aren't ghost types that evolve into ghost types, like Dartrix or Snorunt, which seems to imply that part of their biological cycle involves dying and continuing to exist as ghosts.

* Mewtwo is a [[GeneticAbomination human made case]]: A being made of Mew's DNA (Ergo, the DNA of hundreds of mons) who can channel enough psychic power to defeat legendaries and was for a long time seen as the most powerful legendary ever. It's mega is so powerful that it even upstages [[{{God}} '''Arceus''']].

* Gardevoir, while being a gentle and motherly Pokémon also seems to be quite... off. She holds such psionic powers that she is able to casually bend the laws of gravity to move herself and can see into the future. Furthermore, her powers are so great that she can distort dimensions and create small black holes through sheer will. It seems resident SelfFanservice mon is actually a HumanoidAbomination holding enough power to end planet Earth as we know it!

* Malamar is a Cthulhumanoid with mind controlling powers that can affect both humans and Pokémon, and uses them for their own control (which is implied have [[BeenThereShapedHistory affected multiple important events in Pokémon history]]) It's attacks involve [[ConfusionFu violating or ignoring the rules of physics]], and their designs are suposed to evoke Lovecraft vibes. You know they're creepy when they are continuously portrayed as being always evil and sadistic.

* The Porygon line is a very odd one. In its debut generation, Porygon was stated to be the first artificial mon ever created [[EarlyInstallmentWeirdness (Although that was retconned later)]]. The line looks like digital models for bird creatures, but they're actually [[HardLight solid digital code]] that can change their typing by modifying themselves, or completley become ones and zeroes again to travel through {{Cyberspace}}. They're also TheNeedless who needn't to sleep or eat, and [=Porygon2=] is stated to have a StarfishLanguage that only other Porygon2 can understand. Oh, and Porygon and Porygon2 are suited for space travel, (And it's even implied that time travel is inside their capabilities too).
** If Porygon and Porygon2 are uncanny in their own right, Porygon-Z is a perfect example of a DigitalAbomination. It evolves to this new weird form by holding a Dubious Disc, a not so subtle allegory for Internet piracy, and a flaw in this extra-official update has turned it into a glitching mess of a mon that is constantly twitching and phasing in and out of existence. And while Porygon and Porygon2 are theoretically able to travel to space but can't properly do it, Porygon-Z is a DimensionTraveller who can teleport from one dimension to another. Fittingly, while the Hisui entries for Porygon and its evolved form express curiosity and perplexion, Porygon-Z's expressess '''fear'''.

It has an endless cry that actually sounds like a bizarre twisted song, its base stats are second only to [[CrystalDragonJesus Arceus]], it looks like [[VideoGame/EarthBound Giygas]], and finally, it ''weighs 3 tons and is 80 feet tall''. This Pokémon is so eldritch that if sent to battle, even the battle menu will be covered by a black glitch screen.

Another Pokémon "family" that's thought to also be Ultra Beasts are Cosmog and kin, since they can also create the same kind of wormholes to other worlds, and they also share the Ultra Beasts' trait of all of their base stats being prime numbers. * Hoopa is easily one of the most Eldritch Pokémon in existence. Its Confined form looks like a [[OurImpsAreDifferent mischeavous little imp]] that has rings that can be used as portals. Problem is, that's the [[SealedEvilInACan ''confined'' form]]. Hoopa Unbound is a six meter tall [[OurDjinnAreDifferent humanoid djinn]] [[BizarreAlienBiology with six floating arms and a black hole on its stomach.]] Now it has multiple rings that can use to [[RealityWarper bend dimensions and travel to other realms]], and the anime shows it can summon legendaries through it. Same anime also shows Hoopa Unbound giving a [[CurbStompBattle smackdown to]] [[DragonsUpTheYinYang Reshiram,]] [[DraconicAbomination Zekrom]] and [[WorldsStrongestMan Regigigas]], and it could only be stopped by an alliance between some of the most powerful legendary Pokémon.

* Arceus itself, who, despite being widely thought as the ''Pokémon'' equivalent of {{God}} (who has [[EldritchAbomination/MythologyAndReligion His own extensive entry]]) is actually closer to [[Franchise/CthulhuMythos Azathoth]], considering it created the universe "with its 1000 arms" then went to sleep for a few billion years. ''VideoGame/PokemonLegendsArceus'' also suggests that the physical form we see in the games is just a tiny shard of Arceus's being, and that it is far more than that.
* Dialga and Palkia, Arceus' first creations, are Space and Time personified as dragons (indeed, Time started flowing with Dialga's creation), and their dominion over them is absolute. Their battle in ''Anime/PokemonTheRiseOfDarkrai'' had so much power being thrown around that each of their attacks were damaging reality.
* Giratina, another one of Arceus' "children", is able to completely counteract both Dialga and Palkia, lives in [[http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Distortion_World the Distortion World]], a dimension [[EldritchLocation where time and space do not work like they should]], and can travel to different universes and warp reality. There's ''a good reason'' why people compare it to Yog-Sothoth.
* And then there are the Unown. While a JokeCharacter individually, they become a powerful reality-warping HiveMind in large enough groups. They live in another dimension, but often appear in inexplicable ancient ruins, and their very presence messes with your in-game radio, creating incredibly creepy radio transmissions. Oh, and Arceus uses them to make a new Dialga, Palkia, or Giratina in ''[[VideoGame/PokemonGoldAndSilver HeartGold/SoulSilver]]''.

** It’s possible that the Unown are the metaphorical “1,000 arms” of Arceus mentioned above.
* To a lesser extent, Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza. Ancient, slumbering entities responsible for the environment, they're millions of years old and, when awoken (well, not Rayquaza), start to cause the end of the world. Expies of the Behemoth, Leviathan, and Ziz, who are cosmic horrors on their own, they may very well be Pokémon [[Franchise/CthulhuMythos Great Old Ones to the Creation Trio's Outer Gods.]]

* Deoxys itself is an extraterrestrial being which was born from the mutation of an alien virus. It can change its form and power at will, it appears as nothing short of a [[StarfishAliens Starfish Alien]], and its motives and nature are completely and utterly incomprehensible by humans. It somehow takes control of a meteor to travel to the Hoenn region for... ''whatever'' reason. Cozmo suspects it's not inherently malevolent, but that's all that can be said.

* Malamar is a Cthulhumanoid with mind controlling powers that can affect both humans and Pokémon, and uses them for their own control (which is implied have [[BeenThereShapedHistory affected multiple important events in Pokémon history]]) It's attacks involve [[ConfusionFu violating or ignoring the rules of physics]], and their designs are suposed to evoke Lovecraft vibes. You know they're creepy when they are continuosly portrayed as being always evil and sadistic.
** This is taken further in the anime, where a group of Malamar attempt to '''FUCKING [[OmnicidalManiac DESTROY ALL LIFE ON EARTH EXCEPT FOR MALAMAR USING A FLESH-EATING VIRUS]]. When their plan fails, they escape by travelling to the future.

** Symbiont ([[spoiler:Nihilego]]) is a giant shape-shifting, emotionless jellyfish monster made of a glass like material whose movements resemble those of a young girl. It produces venom that can [[HatePlague cause insanity in people touched by it]], [[spoiler:which is what happened to the BigBad of ''Sun and Moon'', Lusamine. During the final battle, Lusamine [[FusionDance fuses with a Nihilego]], turning them into [[OneWingedAngel an even more eldritch form]]]]. And strangely, despite its jellyfish-like appearance, it is [[spoiler:a Rock/Poison type and can't even learn any water type moves]]. Its native environment is an EldritchLocation that resembles the dark depths of the ocean, except that it isn't underwater.

** Lightning ([[spoiler:Xurkitree]]) appears to be a living mass of electrical cables arranged in a vaguely humanoid shape, or possibly a Christmas tree. Unlike other AnimateInanimateObject Pokémon, it isn't cute, having a spiky head with [[TheBlank no face.]] And as the Ultra remakes reveal, [[spoiler:the ones you fight and catch are implied to be mere babies, with the fully grown ones being the size of skyscrapers (making them theoretically the largest Pokémon to exist), as its home world appears to be entirely covered in Xurkitree of varying sizes]].
** Blaster ([[spoiler:Celesteela]]) looks like a cross between a woman and a spacecraft, with giant rockets for arms [[FloatingLimbs that are not visibly connected to its body]]. It also is said to have plant-like biology, even though it looks almost nothing like a plant. [[spoiler:When you catch it, it turns out to be a Steel/Flying type, but it learns a lot of Grass type moves and almost no Flying type moves.]] Its native environment is an alien world covered in craters. [[spoiler: On top of that, we learn that apparently Celesteela grow out of the ground like bamboo.]]
** Blade ([[spoiler:Kartana]]) looks like a tiny swordsman made out of paper. Despite its small size, it is [[AbsurdlySharpBlade absurdly sharp. As in, sharp enough to cut through anything from solid gold to solid stone and beyond]]. Its behavior is also worth mention: it lives to slice whatever it can. As shown in the anime, Kartana's speech is actually backwards English and always the same phrase jumbled up. "Once again, I cut a worthless object." It goes around Alola repeating these words after slicing up whatever durable objects it finds and [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking giving Furfrou brilliant haircuts]]. Its home dimension is a forest with a zen-garden attended by trainers who seem to revere the samurai ultra-beast.

* Necrozma is an alien being made out of black crystal that constantly fires lasers by focusing light through its body. Evidence suggests that it may be an Ultra Beast that arrived in the distant past, unlike the others, who only began appearing recently. It's also described as being an extremely vicious Pokémon that attacks its opponents without mercy. In ''VideoGame/PokemonSunAndMoon'', it can be randomly encountered at Ten Carat Hill: Farthest Hollow after the player has [[spoiler:captured all of the Ultra Beasts]], without any [[GuideDangIt clues or foreshadowing]] aside from a cryptic hint from Looker, making it also a GiantSpaceFleaFromNowhere. In ''VideoGame/PokemonUltraSunAndUltraMoon'', it is revealed to have the ability to [[FusionDance merge with]] either Solgaleo or Lunala to become Dusk Mane Necrozma or Dawn Wings Necrozma, respectively. It also becomes the very first Pokémon to be the main villain of a main series Pokémon game (not counting the post-game). It wants to steal the world's light, bringing about TheNightThatNeverEnds, which it already has done to the [[AnotherDimension alternate world]] of the Ultra Megalopolis, so that [[spoiler:[[OneWingedAngel it can regain its true form, Ultra Necrozma,]] which resembles resembles both [[OurDragonsAreDifferent a dragon]] and [[OurAngelsAreDifferent an angel]]]]. It is described as a TorturedMonster because it is in perpetual pain which it can only soothe by stealing the world's light, driving it into a rampage. [[spoiler:[[DefeatMeansFriendship But after it is defeated, it can still be caught and befriended by the player like any other wild Pokémon.]]]] It is also revealed that Necrozma is the source of [[spoiler:Z-Crystals and Totem Pokémon]].
* ''VideoGame/PokemonSwordAndShield'' introduces us to a monster that may top the Ultra Beasts and Necrozma in terms of wrongness, [[spoiler:Eternatus, the source of the Dynamax phenomenon and one of the most terrifyingly powerful Pokémon ''in the series''. For one thing, it's ''gigantic'': its normal form alone is already longer than previous record-holder Wailord, and its Gigantamax (or rather, ''Eternamax'') form is an astounding '''328 feet''', dwarfing any other creature in the game. In terms of design, its base form resembles a skeletal dragon composed of what looks like crystals; as for its Eternamax form, it most closely resembles a serpentine UFO with an immense claw reaching down to attack the player. And then there's its role in the story: the entity fell to Earth inside a meteorite 20,000 years ago, and the mere action of it awakening triggered a phenomenon called the Darkest Day, where the sky turned black and Pokémon began to grow to massive sizes; it took the combined efforts of Zacian and Zamazenta to defeat it, and even then they could only [[SealedEvilInACan contain it]] ([[LeakingCanOfEvil mostly]]) inside the meteorite it originally landed in. In the present day, [[BigBad Chairman Rose]] semi-accidentally releases the thing in an attempt to solve Galar's future energy crisis, in the process bringing about another Darkest Day and nearly leading to the destruction of the entire region.]] Bonus points for being one of the most classically Lovecraftian Pokémon in the series; it's not evil or malevolent, it's just something that absolutely, positively does not belong in this world, and is utterly ignorant of and apathetic towards the damage its presence causes.

** Haunter and Gengar appear as a cartoony ghost and monster respectively and enjoy playing pranks on people. Haunnter are also are known to stalk their prey for days (including humans) and slowly kill them with their psionic powers or by using their poison-ridden saliva. Gengar on the other hand curse people and slowly drain their emotions, as well as hide on their shadows and are implied to be immortal. Oh, and have we mentioned Gengar wants to kill humans because it WasOnceAMan and wants a companion?
*** The manga makes it even worse. The Black Fog is a demonic giant Haunter that has been using for centuries its Dream Eater to drain people's souls and attempts to kill the protagonists.
** Banette is born from the rage an abandoned doll feels when it is forgotten, and [[EmotionEater feeds on its grudge and hatred]] which it keeps on its interior. It can use that hatred to use itself as a voodoo doll and lay horrendous curses.
** [[LethalJokeCharacter Shedinja]] is born when a Nincada evolves and leaves its exoskeleton behind. Somehow, that exoskeleton has life of its own. It's a hollow husk with dry eyes, wings made of ripped skin and a whole on its back. Said hole sucks the souls of those who stare at it and uses them to fuel Shedinja. [[OhCrap Now where does the player look when they are using Shedinja?]]
** Dusknoir is a vessel for the Spirit World, and has a connection to it through its antenna. It works as the GrimReaper of the Pokémon world, guiding souls to the Afterlife, although sometimes it accidentally KILLS living souls. Oh, and it feeds partially on them too. Even still, Dusknoir is probably one of the most [[BenevolentAbomination noble ghost types.]]
** Spiritomb is a fusion of 108 souls [[SealedEvilInACan trapped inside a statue for 500 years due to some horrible deeds]] [[NoodleIncident that have never been specified.]] Unfortunately, its prision isn't perfect and [[LeakingCanOfEvil the result of the fleeing souls creates Spiritomb]]. Furthermore, the Ghost/Dark combo didn't have weaknesses until the Fairy type was added.

** Yveltal is the AnthropomorphicPersonification of Death. It looks like a [[GiantFlyer 20ft tall demonic vulture/bat with black veins all over]]. Also, when it dies, it turns into a cocoon and kills everything in the area by absorbing its life force, like some kind of twisted caricature of a phoenix. It's awakening also kills everything near it, an can turn whole forests and jungles into deserts. The worst part is that Yveltal needs to exist to keep Xerneas from cursing all existence, so one of the most evil and demonic Pokemons is a NecessaryEvil.

Oh, and have we mentioned Gengar wants to kill humans because it WasOnceAMan and wants a companion?

** Dusknoir is a vessel for the Spirit World, and has a connection to it through its antenna. It works as the GrimReaper of the Pokemon world, guiding souls to the Afterlife, although sometimes it accidentally KILLS living souls. Oh, and it feeds partially on them too. Even still, Dusknoir is probably one of the most [[BenevolentAbomination noble ghost types.]]

* The Treasure Ruins used to be valuable but mundane objects, gifted by an eastern merchant to an evil Paldean King. After years absorbing the king's negative feelings, the objects came to life and wrecked the castle in a single night, until they were stopped by a coallition of powerful Pokemon and mages and [[SealedEvilInACan trapped in chambers]]. They cause mayhem, destruction and bad luck merely by existing, so unlike Absol, they ''are'' magnets for chaos. Their bodies are made of vegetal matter (Wo-Chien), snow (Chien-Pao), rocks and clay (Ting-Lu) and fire (Chi-Yu), and to add to their weirdness, [[ArtShift they don't look like Pokemon at all but rather mythical animals, which makes them look even more off,]] and the games even imply they [[DarkIsNotEvil aren't evil, but intoxicated by the negative emotions.]] Oh, and the real Pokemon is the object, not the animal.

* The Japanese version of ''Anime/PokemonHeroes'' had an unnamed monster that Latios and Latias fought against in the backstory. It looked [[http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/File:Alto_Mare_entity.png something like this.]]

* The mascots of X and Y are Xerneas and Yveltal, two of the most overtly Lovecraftian Pokemon along the Creation Trio.
** The first one is a magical deer-like fairy creature that spreads life everywhere. That sounds good but it literally spreads life like a plague, cursing everyone with [[WhoWantsToLiveForever inmortality]]. If you are a Marvel fan this may remind you of the Cancerverse, [[EldritchLocation a universe where death has ceased to be and life is consuming everything, including other realities]]. That's what would happen if Xerneas wasn't balanced by Yveltal. In the movie it acts on a BlueAndOrangeMorality and while not antagonistic, doesn't appear as friendly as you'd think a life angel should be.
** Yveltal is the AnthropomorphicPersonification of Death. It looks like a [[GiantFlyer 20ft tall demonic vulture/bat with black veins all over]]. Also, When it dies, it turns into a cocoon and kills everything in the area by absorbing its life force, like some kind of twisted caricature of a phoenix. It's awakening also kills everything near it, an can turn whole forests and jungles into deserts. Worst part is, Yveltal needs to exist to keep Xerneas from cursing all existence, so one of the most evil and demonic Pokemons is a NecessaryEvil.
* Out of all the Legendary Pokémon, one of the most eldritch of all is Zygarde. Zygarde is a [[TheWormThatWalks colony of semi-independent lifeforms that form together into different shapes]], which normally are spread out all over the region, [[GaiasVengeance only coming together to defend the ecosystem from threats.]] The individual parts of Zygarde resemble oversized single-celled organisms, most of which are not sentient except for a few cores that act as Zygarde's brains. When it has 10% of its cells merged, it looks like a dog, at 50% it looks like a giant snake, and at 100% it looks like a giant humanoid with four wings that have mouths on the ends. [[BenevolentMonsters Although despite its otherworldly biology, it is actually a very friendly creature.]]

** Blade ([[spoiler:Kartana]]) looks like a tiny swordsman made out of paper. Despite its small size, it is [[AbsurdlySharpBlade absurdly sharp. As in, sharp enough to cut through anything from solid gold to solid stone and beyond. Only thing stranger is Kartana's behavior. It lives to slice whatever it can. As shown in the anime, Kartana's speech is actually backwards english and always the same phrase jumbled up. "Once again, I cut a worthless object." It goes around Alola repeating these words after slicing up whatever durable objects it finds and [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking giving Furfrou brilliant haircuts. It's home dimension is a forest with a zen-garden attended by trainers who seem to revere the samurai ultra-beast.]]

* Malamar is a Cthulhumanoid with mind controlling powers that can affect both humans and Pokemon, and uses them for their own control (which is implied have [[BeenThereShapedHistory affected multiple important events in Pokemon history]]) It's attacks involve [[ConfusionFu violating or ignoring the rules of physics]], and their designs are suposed to evoke Lovecraft vibes. You know they're creepy when they are continuosly portrayed as being [[AlwaysChaoticEvil]]
** This is taken further in the anime, where a group of Malamar attempt to '''[[PresitionFStrike FUCKING]] [[OmnicidalManiac DESTROY ALL LIFE ON EARTH EXCEPT FOR MALAMAR USING A FLESH-EATING VIRUS]]. When their plan fails, they escape by travelling to the future.

** Chi-Yu represents the Hundun and looks like a fish made of fire that can levitate, has beads for eyes and is the AbstractApoteosis for envy.

Hoopa Unbound is a six meter tall [[OurDjinnAreDifferent humanoid djinn]] [[BizarreAlienBiology with six floating arms and a black hole on its stomach.]] Now it has multiple rings that can use to [[RealityWarper bend dimensions and travel to other realms]], and the anime shows it can summon legendaries through it. Same anime also shows Hoopa Unbound given a [[CurbStompBattle smackdown to]] [[DragonsUpTheYingYang Reshiram,]] [[DraconicAbomination Zekrom]] and [[WorldsStrongestMan Regigigas]], and later it can only be stopped by an alliance between some of the most powerful legendary Pokemon.

But in the past, those that would die while trying to climb waterfalls a la Magikarp would be reborn as Basculegion, a HiveMind of souls that create a larger more powerful fish which can attack by sacrificing its souls as firepower.

* The adorable Pikachu imitator known as Mimikyu may be one, as its true form underneath its Pikachu cloak is so horrifying that [[BrownNote seeing it can cause death from fright]].
