He instead ''lifts the hero up to safety [[SuperStrength with one arm]]'' and then delivers a final speech about the things he's seen in his life and laments how his memories will all die with him, not realising that his memories ''will'' live on beyond his death because he saved the hero in the end. One of the classiest villain deaths ever put to film and very nearly redeems his entire character with that one scene.
