** According to the monthly letters on the FBOFW web site, the villain of the novel on Mike's laptop was an uncaring husband who repeatedly tells his wife and children, "Fend for yourself," instead of supporting them. Mike apparently failed to learn from his own writing, as he wound up leaving his wife and children to "fend for themselves" instead of helping them escape from the fire.

* Tropers/{{DreadedCandiru2}}: The irritating sequence in which Elly came into April's room, wouldn't shut up about dinner being on the table NOW and exploded in a blind rage when April calmly explained that yes, she would be down after she'd put her homework away. If it wasn't bad enough Elly threw a tantrum like a spoiled child, oafish clod John all but threatened to beat her up unless she apologized for her horrible atrocity NOW. It's one thing to be a raw nerve but quite another to be a stupid clod who doesn't care to get his facts straight before proceeding on a course of action. (It's even worse if he's someone who knows the facts but won't act on his child's behalf because he's afraid of the maniac he married.)

When Liz comes back, Jesse gives her the harmonica back, but she then says he should keep it, knowing that April might want it back to play for Grandpa Jim. Why would you do that to your own sister?! She gave you the harmonica so you would feel closer to her, why would you give it to Jesse. I have nothing against the Jesse arc, I know the two were close, but if you know your never going to see this kid again, then give him something else valuable, something that belongs to you, not your sister/or grandfather. This honestly feels like a stab to April and I felt bad for her.

* Tropers/{{Kereea}}: For me it was just the treatment of Therese aka Anthony's wife. I'm okay if your childhood sweetheart gets married-that's life. I'm okay if she's a bit of an IceQueen. So when you have Anthony trick her into getting pregnant by saying he'll stay home with the kid because she doesn't want to leave her career and doesn't want to be a mother yet anyway, but only saying so because he thinks she'll have a change of heart as soon as the baby pops out due to motherly hormones and the fact that she's justifiably upset that no, he's going to try and get her to stay home is treated as a sign that she's bad, I'm pissed off. Then after she's had the kid and everyone's bitching about how she's not motherly, Anthony has the whole "I never had anything to fight for!" line in the "going after" mentioned above (okay, so maybe he and Therese are on the rocks, but he also has that baby girl you begged her to have! Isn't that worth anything?) and the only conclusion I could come to was the one of the WMG page that says he was only with Therese to make Lix jealous and then he married her when Lix left because she was the only option he had. Oh, and Anthony's kid is never mentioned outside of when Therese left Anthony. So the kid was just a plot device to get Liz and Anthony together via demonizing of Therese.
