* Tribore from ''WesternAnimation/FinalSpace'' has become this for some. He's supposed to be the wacky CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass character but some find him too annoying (his lisp in particular) and unfunny who appears too often. This was taken a step further in season 2 where he joins the main cast, making the already large team of characters even ''bigger''. The fact that he keeps coming back and has almost ''nothing'' bad ever happen to him has made people see him like this.

* ''WesternAnimation/ThomasAndFriends'':
** Philip had several episodes to himself, especially compared to other new characters, who often faded into the background after a few episodes.

* [[WesternAnimation/TheFairlyOddParents The Fairly Odd Parents]]: Chloe Carmichael. She was introduced in [[LongRunners season 10]] and was meant to be the second lead character alongside [[TheHero Timmy]]. However, she was unanimously hated amongst the fandom for being a MarySue, with many people demanding that she get completely removed like [[TheScrappy Sparky.]] Despite this, throughout the entirety of season 10, Chloe would continue being a major focus of the show, sometimes even overshadowing Timmy himself. The show was [[SeasonalRot already on its last legs]] even before her introduction, so considering that season 10 was the show’s last season, it’s clear that Chloe’s introduction was the final nail in the coffin.
* Cubert from ''WesternAnimation/{{Futurama}}'' turned into a parody. [[IntendedAudienceReaction He was actually created to be one of these]], apparently in direct reference to the former {{Trope Namer|s}}, and he was originally intended to be a sort of [[TheAce Ace]] character, except he would still be hated and mistreated by the other characters. Only the last part became true. In his debut episode, the rest of the cast takes an instant dislike to him and manage to get in a few good insults. It helps that the writers were more in tune than others in their profession. Originally, Cubert was supposed to be the character who {{lampshade|Hanging}}d all the ludicrous aspects of the series, which he does in his debut episode. However, the writers realized how annoying this was and transformed him into a standard BrattyHalfPint TVGenius, only using him in a couple of episodes thereafter. He is also downgraded from a genius to an insufferable brat who thinks he's smarter than he is, while still acting like an actual twelve-year-old.

Thomas is the main character, and thus not a minor character, which Creators Pet is about.

** The titular character was this for several seasons, until it stopped when Andrew Brenner took the helm of head writer. 90% of all stories focused on him and he had more screen time than the other engines. Although, this role was given back to him in [[WesternAnimation/ThomasAndFriendsAllEnginesGo the reboot]], but it was taken to the point of [[SpotlightStealingSquad appearing and having a major role in every episode]]! Despite this, his role in the reboot's internet shorts was downplayed in order to let the other engines get the spotlight.

** [[ThoseTwoGuys Blukic and Driba]] from ''WesternAnimation/Ben10Omniverse'' have been stated several times by the writers to be part of their favourite characters; they were given appearances in a large part of the episodes, played a role in ''two'' season finales, there has already been one episode focused on them which was stated to be the team's favorite (and another one similar has aired later), and lead designer Derrick Wyatt admitted he wouldn't mind them having their own spin-off show. To many fans, they are just another PluckyComicRelief duo in a show already full of them, with the additional bonuses of being [[TooDumbToLive dumb enough to constantly make idiotic decisions]], [[TheLoad putting everyone in danger in the process]], often ending up as a DiabolusExMachina, and showing signs of FantasticRacism against one of the other alien species on the Omnitrix.

* ''WesternAnimation/TheCasagrandes'' has Sergio, who is an actual pet, the pet parrot of the titular family. Despite the fact that a majority of the show's fanbase hates him for being a tremendous {{Jerkass}} who causes conflict in nearly every episode, he gets shoehorned into the series so often that characters like Carlitos and Lalo have become [[OutOfFocus underutilized]] compared to him. He's also made guest appearances in episodes of ''WesternAnimation/TheLoudHouse'' where Lori attends Fairway University, such as "Don't You Fore-Get About Me" and "Crash Course", adding little, if anything to their plots.

These read less like examples of the trope and more like whoever added them was personally venting their own feelings regarding the characters.

** Gwen in original continuty ''lives'' this trope. She is a FlawlessToken and that's more than enough but nooo: she's a BornWinner [[TheAce Ace]] in everything who also got the StoryBreakerPower and practically [[TheOmnipotent omnipotent]]. Plus, her constant {{Flanderization}} turned her into outright bitch. And in ''Omniverse'' (with his {{Animesque}}-style) she's prone to DoubleStandardAbuseFemaleOnMale, HairTriggerTemper, etc. and practically can be considered the western version of [[Manga/{{Naruto}} Sakura Haruno]] (who is the biggest [[TheScrappy Scrappy]] and CreatorsPest in her own franchise). And on top of that, [[KarmaHoudini she's always gets away with it]]. And if you thought that's enough I'm sorry for you: authors wanted to make a SpinOff with Gwen being TheProtagonist and ''all'' episodes in ''Omniverse'' focused on Gwen is PoorlyDisguisedPilot (maybe fortunately, [[WhatCouldHaveBeen the series wasn't even started]] due to ''Omniverse'''s unpopularity). Hell, the only episode that was focused on Gwen's flaw happened in ''Omniverse'' and said "flaw" is a CompressedVice (IrrationalHatred for Lucy Mann). Fortunately, her [[WesternAnimation/Ben102016 reboot]] version, while also have negative moments, is much better.

*** The original version also disliked (especially in ''Omniverse'') thanking to his {{Flanderization}} and TookALevelInJerkass. He's thinking more and more about his car and exceptionally unsympathetic. And he's also a KarmaHoudini.

Dewicking as Static Character is Definition Only

* ''WesternAnimation/StarVsTheForcesOfEvil'' gives us Princess Pony Head, Star's [[SpoiledBrat spoiled]], ValleyGirl best friend, who outright tries to kill Marco in her first appearance. What's odd is that she does start to slowly grow into a nicer character over the first few seasons, only for her CharacterDevelopment to [[AesopAmnesia suddenly snap back]], just leaving a [[ItsAllAboutMe self-centered]] diva who [[StaticCharacter never learns a lesson]]. To the show's credit, around this point even Star starts to voice annoyance with her flaws, and we learn that the rest of her family consider her the BlackSheep.

** Gwen in original continuty ''lives'' this trope. She is a FlawlessToken and that's more than enough but nooo: she's a BornWinner [[TheAce Ace]] in everything who also got the StoryBreakerPower and practically [[TheOmnipotent omnipotent]]. Plus, her constant {{Flanderisation}} turned her into outright bitch. And in ''Omniverse'' (with his {{Animesque}}-style) she's prone to DoubleStandardAbuseFemaleOnMale, HairTriggerTemper, etc. and practically can be considered the western version of [[Manga/{{Naruto}} Sakura Haruno]] (who is the biggest [[TheScrappy Scrappy]] in her own franchise). And on top of that, [[KarmaHoudini she's always gets away with it]]. * Midway through season 2, ''WesternAnimation/DrawnTogether'' essentially became ''The Captain Hero Show''. Almost every episode focuses on him or features him heavily, to the point that fans of other characters became sick to death of him. The writers admitted that they liked to give him stories, their justification being that the guy was TheDitz and [[HeroicComedicSociopath had no morals or sense of restraint]] so they could make him do anything at all (an important factor in a show where 95% of the jokes are CringeComedy) and it would never be out of character for him.

Almost every episode focuses on him or features him heavily, to the point that fans of other characters became sick to death of him. By season 3, even many fans of Captain Hero agreed with fans of other characters and felt he was far too overused.
