Richard A. Knaak (born 28 May 1961) is a fantasy writer, who initially started his career with some ''Literature/{{Dragonlance}}'' novels. Given his previous work with them, it was natural that Creator/BlizzardEntertainment would select Knaak to work on novelizations based off of their other fantasy franchise: ''VideoGame/{{Warcraft}}''. He's still writing in the ''Franchise/WarcraftExpandedUniverse'' to this day.

Given his previous work with them, it was natural that BlizzardEntertainment would select him to work on novelizations based off of their other fantasy franchise: ''{{Warcraft}}''. However, his initial work in this area has been somewhat less than well received, with his main character, the wizard Rhonin, frequently getting accusations of [[MarySue Sue-dom]] of one form or another.

His later work in this area seems to avoid this, and he's still writing in the WarcraftExpandedUniverse to this day.
