Launched on December 15, 2013, El Rey Network is a joint venture between Creator/RobertRodriguez, Creator/{{Univision}} Communications, and Cox Communications (Collectively known as "El Netwarko Groupo"). It is Univison's second English-language venture after Fusion.

El Rey was shut down on December 31, 2020, a month after Univision sold its minority stake in the network, and in the wake of its losing distribution throughout the past year, having been dropped by AT&T and Spectrum, among other cable companies.
