David Lindsay-Abaire (born 1969) is an American playwright and screenwriter. Originally from Boston, he was educated at the Juilliard School and debuted his first play, ''Theatre/FuddyMeers'', in 1998. He is best known for his Pulitzer-winning play ''Theatre/RabbitHole''.
Lindsay-Abaire has also written musical theater. He wrote the books for the adaptations; ''Theatre/HighFidelity'' and ''Theatre/ShrekTheMusical''; he would later adapt his 2000 play ''Theatre/KimberlyAkimbo'' into [[Theatre/KimberlyAkimbo2021 a musical of the same name]]. He also works as a screenwriter, particularly for youth-oriented science fiction and fantasy films.
