A potential male version of Yandere-chan. He isn't in the game, but if he was, he would have two possible personalities – the first would be a basic gender-bend of Yan-chan, with him having been emotionless until he met Senpai and felt emotions for the first time; the second would have him as a sadist who needs an obsession to feel complete. This Yan-kun would be very possessive of Senpai and would try to kill his rivals because to him, it's a fun game of death.

A potential male version of Yandere-chan. He isn't in the game yet, but if he was, he would have two possible personalities. The first would be a basic gender-bend of Yan-chan, with him having been emotionless until he met Senpai and felt emotions for the first time. The second would have him as a sadist who needs an obsession to feel complete. This Yan-kun would be very possessive of Senpai and would try to kill his rivals because to him, it's a fun game of death.

As of current builds, [[UnusuallyUninterestingSight she does not react to nudity nudity]] (no one does), but it's safe to say that eventually she won't like that either.

These are the women (and one man) whose mission it is to ensure the wellbeing of Akademi High School and its students.

!!Sensei
[[quoteright:250:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/teacher_37.png]]
[[caption-width-right:250:Rino Fuka]]
->''"Your conduct is unacceptable! Disciplinary measures will be taken!"''

->'''Voiced by''': Rachael Messer

The teacher(s) of Akademi High School. Crossing her guarantees a NonstandardGameOver unless you've prepared enough in your Physical Education class.
-----
* ActionGirl: Strong, fast, tough. Do NOT anger a Sensei-chan.
* AdultsAreUseless: If a murder scene is cleaned up before she and a student show up, she'll assume it was a prank and walk off. She doesn't bother asking the student more about it. She just pretends nothing happened. Averted otherwise; if you don't clean up before she gets there, she will call the police and guard the corpse, making it impossible to move it. If you break school rules, she will punish you, giving you a NonstandardGameOver. And if she sees you doing psychotic things, she will give chase.
* AllThereInTheManual:
** The teachers ''do'' have names – Rino Fuka (Yandere-chan's teacher), Shiori Risa, Reina Nana, Natsuki Anna, Kaho Kanon (Senpai's teacher), and Karin Hana.
* BadassTeacher: If Yandere-chan tries to attack her or if she knows that Yandere-chan killed someone, she'll disarm and pin her to the ground within a matter of seconds. According to WordOfGod, after the 1989 incident, all teachers at Akademi were required to have extensive self-defense training.
* BrainyBrunette: The default design is this.
** Averted for their replacements, whose hairstyles and hair colors are randomly generated.
* CurbStompBattle: Will give one to you if you don't train hard enough to take it.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Brown hair, brown eyes.
* DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu: Downplayed. The teachers are in no way godlike, but they are pretty tough. It's only possible to take teachers down if you have leveled up your Physical stats enough, barring Easter Eggs and mods.
* TheDreaded: For almost every Let's Player out there. Then again, because of this, some people like to taunt her because she can't easily go to some places.
* EveryoneHasStandards: If Yandere-chan hangs around in a class that's not hers, the teacher will yell at her for disrupting her class and have her expelled. Also, she won't take too kindly to attempted murder, successful murder, bloody clothes, or panty shots. As of current builds, she does not react to nudity (no one does), but it's safe to say that eventually she won't like that either.
* HiddenBadass: Do NOT get Sensei-chan mad.
* HotTeacher: Not necessarily hot, but they aren't bad-looking.
* LightningBruiser: She is fast enough to outrun a base-level Yandere-chan, and strong enough to easily physically overpower her.
* MamaBear: The teachers genuinely seem to care about the students' safety. If you murder someone, they'll come charging at you full-force.
* {{Meganekko}}: Many of them wear glasses.
* NiceShoes: Little high heels with ribbons on them.
* OhCrap: When witnessing something bad happen.
* PrimAndProperBun: Two of them (Reina Nana & Rino Fuka) have one.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: When she discovers a corpse, the first thing she does is call the cops. If she sees Yandere-chan with blood, a weapon, or just acting suspicious in any way, she will chase Yandere-chan down and/or expel her on the spot.
* SternTeacher: Appears to be the default. She won't hesitate to call Yandere-chan out on arriving to class late or intruding on the incorrect class, and will expel you if she catches you doing something weird. That said, she seems very protective of her students.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: Her model is identical to Yandere-chan's, except taller and with brown hair instead of black. Later updates gave the teachers different hairstyles to make them less obvious carbon copies.
* ThisCannotBe: Whenever she sees a dead body, she'll say this.
-->'''Sensei:''' "No, it can't be…!"
* TranquilFury: Normally, when she's giving chase or when you break school rules, she will shout like crazy. However, if she catches you during a chase or if you try to kill her, she slips into this before [[BadassTeacher pinning you to the ground]].
--> '''Sensei:''' "Just ''what'' do you think you're doing?"
* WideEyesAndShrunkenIrises: When scared… though given that you're no match for her, perhaps "horrified" would be a better term.

!! Genka Kunahito, the Counselor
[[quoteright:245:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lrwftt_1.png]]
->''"Don't misbehave."''

->'''Voiced by''': Marissa Lenti

The Guidance Counselor of Akademi High School, whose role is to administrate proper punishment for misbehaving students.
----
* AbsoluteCleavage: Her open shirt does not hide a whole lot.
* BeautyMark: A small one on the far side of her right cheek.
* EveryoneHasStandards: She legitimately wants to help as much as possible. That said, push her enough and she can expel you.
* {{Expy}}: Is said to have been inspired by [[Manga/PrisonSchool Meiko Shiraki]] and [[VideoGame/LeagueOfLegends Headmistress Fiora]].
* HotTeacher: Variant on the theme, in that she's a school guidance counselor, not a teacher. Still, she was deliberately designed to have sex appeal. Her shirt has a plunging neckline which reveals her ample cleavage.
* MsFanservice: Her shapely figure and flattering outfit definitely qualify her for this.
* PrimAndProperBun: Fitting, considering her role in the game.
* PunnyName: Her name is a pun on ''Genkaku na Hito'' (厳格な人), which means "disciplinarian".
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Her personality is "Slightly Strict" which is described as someone who "genuinely wants to help". Of course she has her limits where she will stop forgiving any troublemakers.
* ScaryShinyGlasses: Her profile picture has one of her glasses become opaque.
* SexySpectacles: Wears a pair of small, oval shaped glasses.
* SternTeacher: Subverted. Despite being a faculty member with the Strict personality type, and a disciplinarian at that, [[https://twitter.com/YandereDev/status/660174416416915456 YandereDev]] has said that she is a ReasonableAuthorityFigure who genuinely wants to be helpful to the students, but her patience has a limit.
* UnwittingPawn: Can be manipulated by Yandere-chan into expelling her romantic rivals.

!! Kyoshi Taiso, the Gym Teacher
[[quoteright:250:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kyoshitaisoapril4th.png]]

Akademi High School's Gym Teacher. She first appeared in the March 31st 2016 build. Her function in the game is to make it difficult for Yandere-chan to easily dispatch her rivals – during the morning and afternoon she stands guard by the front gate, and during class time she patrols the Faculty Room where the test answer sheet is. She has all the powers of a normal teacher.
----
* BadassTeacher: Same as all the others. Attack her, she'll put you down.
* ButNotTooForeign: With her blonde hair, blue eyes, and friendly demeanor, she fits the Japanese stereotype of an American or European (although her tanned skin does not). However, her name is not the least bit Western.
* CharacterTics: She has a habit of swaying her hips from side to side when standing still.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: The only faculty member who averts this.
* DarkSkinnedBlonde: She has blonde hair, and a tanner skin tone than most [=NPCs=] thus far. Justified by her preference for being outdoors.
* HotTeacher: "Hot" is debatable, but she's fairly easy on the eyes.
* OutdoorsyGal: She'd rather be outside getting some exercise than inside doing paperwork.
* PassionateSportsGirl: When she's indoors, she'll frequently perform stretching exercises.
* ThePiratesWhoDontDoAnything: She's officially Akademi's gym teacher, but her routine does not ever take her anywhere near the gym, nor is she shown to teach. During class time, she instead patrols the faculty room to make it hard for Yan-chan to get the test answer sheet and expel Kokona.
* PunnyName: ''Kyoshitaiso'' (体操教師) translates to "gymnastics teacher".
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: With a personality of "Friendly, but Strict", how can she not be?

!!Kocho Shuyona

Akademi High School's Headmaster since its founding in 1985. He was originally a cheerful, optimistic man full of hope, but as the years went by, he became a cynical, world-weary old man.
----
* AmbiguouslyEvil: The Journalist mentions that he pays the police and media to stay away from Akademi even when there's a crime on campus. However, he's also been described as someone who was once idealistic, but the years have made him cynical and jaded. He could, at least, be an AntiVillain.
* BreakTheCutie: He was once full of hope, but the years have been cruel.
* TheCynic: He became one before the events of the game, losing faith in the world and its youth.
* TheGhost: Because you are capable of killing anyone you can interact face-to-face with, he doesn't actually appear so that the player can't kill him.
* MeaningfulName: Kōchō (校長) means "Headmaster".
* ObstructiveBureaucrat: Under his administration, the school somehow convinced the police to only investigate crimes committed on school grounds for 6 hours maximum. This is very convenient for a {{Yandere}} looking to not get caught.
* WideEyedIdealist: When he first got the job, he was a fit, energetic man who was full of hope. However, by the time the game starts, he's become pessimistic and world-weary.

!!Phantom Girl
[[quoteright:135:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/the_ghost_girl.png]]
The first tragedy. A beautiful flower plucked far too soon. She cannot yet rest.

This is a ghostly apparition who can sometimes be seen when you try to take a picture with your phone. She figures very heavily in the game's backstory.
-----
* BoyMeetsGhoul: It's been pitched that she may become a rival in a DLC if the game does well.
* CampingACrapper: [[spoiler:She was killed by Ryoba Aishi in the girl's bathroom, and now haunts it. However, it is unclear whether the Phantom Girl was simply led there or if Yandere-chan's mother waited for the Phantom Girl to go there on her own and then kill her.]]
* CreepyChild: Is[[labelnote:*]] (well, ''was'')[[/labelnote]] a teenager, and wherever you take a photo she'll always be looking at you.
* EasterEgg: A more creepy version.
* {{Expy}}: She's a reference to the [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanako-san Hanako-san]] UrbanLegend (which is the equivalent of the Western "Bloody Mary").
* FanDisservice: Because [[ClothingDamage her clothes are ripped up]], it's actually fairly easy to see her panties. Thing is, she's a monstrous looking ghost girl.
* GhostlyGoals: If the planned DLC mission pack happens, she will get a physical form and will romance Senpai in revenge for [[spoiler:what Yandere-chan's mother did in the past.]] The dev suggests that the Occult Club will be able to help you out with the ghost problem because you won't be able to kill the Phantom Girl normally.
* HeroAntagonist:
** Her being one of these, intentionally or not, is what led to her death. It is not known whether she was actually [[spoiler:Ryoba]]'s rival or if she just got in the way.
** If the game sells well enough to justify it, [=YandereDev=] would like to add a DLC bonus mission where she becomes Yan-chan's rival for Senpai's affections.
* HitodamaLight: Has two blue flames floating nearby her, indicating her status as a ghost.
* JacobMarleyApparel: She wears a school uniform. It is noticeably tattered.
* MurderTheHypotenuse: [[spoiler:Ryoba definitely killed her, but the reasoning that the poor girl died because she was a love rival is, at this time, only implied. She may have been, or she could have just been in the wrong place at the wrong time.]]
* OurGhostsAreDifferent: She can only be seen through cameras. Her appearance is heavily inspired by Japanese ghost stories: note the two HitodamaLight followers and ''hitaikakushi''. She also has yellow eyes, pale skin, and a shadowed face.
* {{Revenge}}: WordOfGod says that a future DLC may focus on her attempt. How would she do it? By manifesting a physical form and trying to steal Senpai personally.
* SpookyPhotographs: Originally, she could be found by the lone cherry tree behind the school. That was just for testing purposes though. You can find her by taking a photograph in the girl's bathroom on the third floor.
* SupernaturalGoldEyes: Has one (her left) that glows brightly.

!!Placeholder Club Leaders
->''"Greetings."''

->'''Voiced By''': Michaela Laws

Due to time constraints, [=YandereDev=] included these soulless automatons beginning with the "Clubs"[[labelnote:*]] (February 1st 2016)[[/labelnote]] Update to allow players to try out some of the club mechanics without having to complete a bunch of new students. They do not move, nor do they react to anything except the player engaging them, so Yandere-chan can murder people in front of them without consequence.
-----
* BlindingBangs: Every one of them has these.
* BystanderSyndrome. The ultimate example. They will literally not react to anything other than Yan-chan directly talking to them.
* RoboSpeak: They have a tinny, robotic voice.
* TheStoic: They show absolutely no emotion.
* TerseTalker: No sentence they speak is longer than six words.

!!The Delinquents
-->''"Huh?! You got a death wish?!"''

The Delinquents are a gaggle of students – five boys and five girls – that hang around at the back of the school, next to the entrance to the incinerator. They all carry around weapons and if they see Yandere-chan carrying a limb/corpse, or if she attacks them with a weapon, they'll retaliate with a smack to the head.
-----
* ALighterShadeOfBlack: Sure they're delinquents, but they're nowhere near as bad as Yandere-chan, Info-chan, or (possibly) Yui Rio. They do ''not'' commit, aid in, or approve of murder ([[EvenEvilHasStandards and will in fact mess you up if they see that you are guilty of it]]), they look out for each other and will befriend you in the final game if your reputation is low enough, and [[WordOfGod YandereDev]] has stated that even their leader (one of your rivals) isn't actually evil.
* BadIsGoodAndGoodIsBad: One of the planned features is to make it so that if Yandere-chan has a high reputation, they'll be even more disdainful towards her, but if she has a low reputation, they'll treat her as one of their own.
* BatterUp: Some of the Delinquents of both genders wield baseball bats.
* BilingualBonus: One of the girls wears a surgical mask with ''kuso'' (くそ) written on it. That word is typically translated as "shit" (although it's actually a relatively mild swear, more akin to "crap"). Fitting.
* BloodKnight: They'll jeer at and threaten Yandere-chan if she intrudes on them, and if she approaches them with a weapon drawn, they'll get ready for a fight.
* CoolMask: The girls wear surgical masks with drawings on them.
* CrowbarCombatant: Some of them hold crowbars.
* DelinquentHair: The females have oddly-coloured streaks in their hair, whereas a couple of the males have pompadours.
* DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu: Not even Yandere-chan [[spoiler:possessed by a '''''freaking demon''''']] can take them in a fight.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Ne'er-do-wells though they may be, if they see you with a corpse (or part of one), they ''will'' waste you on the spot.
* HonorAmongThieves: If your reputation's low enough to be accepted by them, they'll look out for you.
* ImplacableMan: Trying to fight one of them will ''not'' end well.
** To put it in perspective, as of current builds they are literally invincible. Not even the {{Easter Egg}}s that OneHitKill everyone else with an AI (Senpai included) have any effect on them. The developer stated that he does plan for them to be killable via a mini-game similar to fighting the heroes, meaning they'll eventually gain a proper hitbox, but he has higher priorities.
** The movement of most [=NPCs=] in the game (students and teachers) is thus far restricted to the original pre-expansion boundaries of Akademi – meaning they cannot follow/chase you to the garden, hedge maze, gym, track, or cherry tree. The delinquents, on the other hand, ''can and will chase you anywhere''. Yes, anywhere. Even if you try glitching out of the map, they will ''still'' chase you down. They're also faster than you, so if you provoke them, you're basically screwed.[[labelnote:†]] They are not known to be able to follow Yandere-chan home, so she's at least safe if she can successfully end the day.[[/labelnote]]
* JapaneseDelinquents: Ya reckon?!
* {{Jerkass}}: None of them are terribly nice. If you approach them, they'll mock you, and even crack a joke about breaking your cello if you have the case. Then again, what else do you expect from delinquents?
* OneHitKO: Provoke one of them and they'll clock you in the skull with their weapon, leaving Yan-chan comatose and leading to a GameOver (where the rival likely got to confess to Senpai unimpeded).
* PipePain: Some of them carry around lead pipes as a weapon.
* WeCannotGoOnWithoutYou: Their entire identities and self-worth are based around Osoro. If she dies, they won't know what to do with themselves and will stop being delinquents.
* WoodenKatanasAreEvenBetter: Some of them are wielding ''bokken'' or ''shinai'', and at present can defeat Yandere-chan regardless of how strong she is or what weapon she's wielding.
* WouldHitAGirl: The male delinquents have zero qualms about hitting Yandere-chan.

!! The Succubus/Lust Demon
->''"Do you want to play with me? Or…perhaps you want to become one of us?"''

->'''Voiced by:''' Michaela Laws

One of the three demons encountered by using the Ritual Knife.
-----
* BiTheWay: She flirts with Yandere-chan, asking her if she wants to "play" with her.
* BlackEyesOfEvil: Her eyes are solid black.
* EeriePaleSkinnedBrunette: She has paper-white skin with black markings, black hair, and she is a demoness.
* {{Gainaxing}}: Unlike all the other well-endowed female characters, her breasts noticeably move as she breathes.
* GreaterScopeVillain: There are implications that she may be the biggest bad in the entire game. On top of there having to be something fundamentally wrong with the Aishi clan (what with the {{Yandere}} mindset, one based on obsessive '''LOVE''', going back many generations), Yan-chan's ability to contact demons (despite being the biggest greenhorn in the Occult Club, if she joins), and the Succubus even [[http://yandere-simulator.wikia.com/wiki/Demonic_Ritual?file=Ver22-21-16Succubus.png looks a bit like Ayano herself]] (and is even voiced by Yan-chan's voice actress).
* HumanoidAbomination: Looks the most human out of the three demons, but the fact that the other two look either unnatural or twisted shows that she's not as natural as she seems herself.
* WasOnceAMan: According to the April Fool's Day DatingSim ''Burning Love'', [[spoiler:humans become demons when they commune with one, and offer a blood sacrifice in exchange for a price.]] It's unclear how canon this tidbit is, but if it's true for ''Yandere Simulator'' proper, then this is the case.
* YouAreNotReady: She tells Yandere-chan that it's too soon for her to become a demoness herself, but to be patient.

!! The Fiend/Flame Demon
->''"A mortal? Here? How curious..."''

One of the three demons encountered by using the Ritual Knife.

Appears in a Yandere Simulator-related dating sim called ''Burning Love'' as the romance lead.
-----
* AmbiguouslyGay / AmbiguouslyBi: In ''Burning Love'', thanks to the player character's AmbiguousGender.
* BoringInsult: In his original dialogue, he said that he finds Yandere-chan boring and wants nothing to do with her. This was later replaced with a speech saying he finds her unworthy of his power.
* BringIt: He tells Sakura, "DO YOUR WORST" when challenging them to make him enjoy their date.
* DoNotTauntCthulhu: He has little patience for Sakura's [[HurricaneOfPuns constant flame puns]]. This could potentially lead to YourSoulIsMine below.
* HumanoidAbomination: Not as terrifying as The Horror, but still a particularly unnatural entity from the beyond.
* InterspeciesRomance: With the PlayerCharacter if you get the Good Ending of ''Burning Love''.
%%* LamePunReaction: See DoNotTauntCthulhu above.
* SuperEmpowering: In the January 2017 build, the Fiend's power-up was added to the game. [[spoiler:If Ayano heats the ritual knife and stabs it into the skull, he'll give her [[FlamingSword a taste of his power]]. If she drags a certain number of charred corpses into the ritual circle, he will deem her worthy and give her a charcoal grey gown, a [[FacialMarkings black band across her eyes]], and the ability to shoot flames from her hands.]]
* WasOnceAMan: In ''Burning Love'', [[spoiler:he reveals that this is the case for all demons. A human can become a demon if they commune with one and offer a blood sacrifice to form a pact. In his particular case, he was born into a wealthy family in 1431, and saw his family be beaten and burnt alive by peasants. He struck a deal with a demon, and got his revenge by making the peasants experience every single thing his family did ''and worse''.]] It's unclear just how canon this backstory is, however.
* WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds: If ''Burning Love'' is to be believed, [[spoiler:he was once a normal human who saw his family suffer a CruelAndUnusualDeath. After making a DealWithTheDevil, he got his revenge and lost his humanity.]]
* WreathedInFlames: Other than his uniform, he is composed of spectral white flames.
* YouAreNotReady: He tells Yandere-chan that she's not worthy of his power, and to come back once she's proved herself.
* YouHaveGotToBeKiddingMe: In ''Burning Love'', if the PlayerCharacter tells the Flame Demon that they're lost, he will be dumbfounded by the idea that a human got lost and accidentally wandered into another plane of existence.
* YourSoulIsMine: He does this to Sakura if their date goes poorly.

!! The Horror/Pain Demon

One of the three demons encountered by using the Ritual Knife.
-----
* BodyHorror: His arms look like they've atrophied off and his mouth is distorted horribly.
* DemonicPossession: Inflicts this on Yandere-chan should the conditions for invoking it be fulfilled.
* {{Expy}}: Its appearance – especially its earthly manifestation – looks a lot like the [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaOcarinaOfTime Dead Hand]], although what it actually does is more reminiscent of [[Manga/ElfenLied Diclonius vectors]].
* GhostlyGape: Its lower jaw is stretched so that its mouth is ghoulishly distorted.
* HumanoidAbomination: A horrifying creature from the beyond presenting itself in a ghoulish mockery of the human shape.
* PragmaticVillainy: If you manage to give it vengeance, the demon will give Yandere-chan ten hands that dismember anyone who comes close… except Senpai. The Horror is kind enough to spare him from your bloody rampage.
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: It wants revenge for a past injustice and its arms being cut off. Fulfill that, and it will be happy to lend Yandere-chan a hand… or ten.
* SuperEmpowering: If Ayano places a certain number of dismembered body parts into the ritual circle, he'll gladly lend her a hand... or ten.
* WasOnceAMan: Its speech upon talking to it suggests that it was once a normal human who died a CruelAndUnusualDeath. If ''Burning Love'' is to be believed, [[spoiler:''all'' demons were once humans who made a pact with a demon]].

!! Mr. Jazzy Feet

The Light Music Club's pet turtle.
-----
* AdorableAbomination: This cute little turtle can warp reality in the debug builds.
* EldritchAbomination: In the debug builds (and only there), he's a [[RealityWarper reality-warping]] terrapin who can summon victims and weapons for a murderous {{Yandere}}, as well as somehow [[KarmaHoudini pardon her]] for her crimes.
* KarmaHoudini: He can invoke this trope regarding Yandere-chan if she prays to him.
* {{Mascot}}: For the Light Music Club.
* PhysicalGod: In the debug builds, he grants Yan-chan various sanity mechanic-related boons if she prays to him. This includes "forgiving" her sins.
* RealityWarper: In the debug builds, praying to him allows you to test out the sanity mechanic. He can also summon weapons and easy victims to her, as well as remove incriminating evidence.
* RidiculouslyCuteCritter: Such an adorable little PhysicalGod.
* TeamPet: For the Light Music Club.
* TurtlePower: He's got some great power in the debug builds.

[[folder:Buraza Town '''(WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS)''']]

!!Ryoba Aishi
[[quoteright:135:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ryoba_aishi.png]]
->''"I said, use my first name, Darling."''

->'''Voiced By''': Michaela Laws

The mother of our, um, [[VillainProtagonist "hero"]]. Although not appearing during Yan-chan's exploits, as she and her husband are out of town for those ten weeks, many things are told about her in and out of game. [[spoiler:Specifically, she kidnapped a sempai of her very own, making him develop StockholmSyndrome, causing them to get married and have a child, who is none other than Yan-chan. Also, she may or may not [[GreaterScopeVillain have influenced Yan-chan's behavior]].]]
-----
* AbductionIsLove: The Basement Tape reveals a number of important details – [[spoiler:namely that she kidnapped her sempai and kept him locked up until StockholmSyndrome kicked in, and that her mother had done the same thing to her husband.]]
* {{Adorkable}}: [[spoiler:[[PlayingWithATrope Played with.]] Although she is a {{Yandere}} SerialKiller, she gives off this vibe, albeit in a ''very'' creepy manner; for example, her [[AddedAlliterativeAppeal giggling girlish glee]] at being able to talk to her sempai is unsettling, but weirdly cute. However, it stops being ''any'' kind of cute when she threatens her senpai with a knife and [[FromBadToWorse then reveals she killed her rivals]].]]
* AndNowForSomeoneCompletelyDifferent: WordOfGod says that a "1980s Mode" is planned, where you can play as her.
* ArchEnemy: [[spoiler:[[BigGood The journalist]].]]
* AxCrazy: [[spoiler:Must've been this to some extent to kill someone for love.]]
* TheBadGuyWins: [[spoiler:Got away with everything she did by manipulating the public's opinion of herself and the Journalist.]]
** [[spoiler:Although the outcome of her confrontation with [[BigGood the journalist]] in America during her ten-week-long trip remains to be seen.]]
* BitchInSheepsClothing: [[spoiler:In the past, she put up the façade of [[OrdinaryHighSchoolStudent an innocent schoolgirl]] when she was really just [[MurderTheHypotenuse an obsessive murderer]].]]
* BoobsOfSteel: [[spoiler:She got away with murder in the past.]] That said, just look at her chest in the above picture.
* ConsummateLiar: She was able to [[spoiler:fool a whole court and nation that she was framed for the murder she committed.]]
* CreepyChild: [[spoiler:Is able to fool numerous people and sabotages her crush's love life. She retains the creepiness into her adult years.]]
* CuteAndPsycho: Outwardly? A beautiful middle-aged lady who loves her family. [[spoiler:Inwardly? Well, she ''does'' [[EvenEvilHasLovedOnes actually love her family]], but she's also a murderous psychopath who kidnapped her future husband and kept him in her basement until he developed StockholmSyndrome]].
* DisproportionateRetribution: [[spoiler:She ''killed'' one or more of her classmates for love, just like her daughter (has the option to).]] That's...a tad harsh.
* DissonantSerenity: Throughout the Basement Tapes, her voice is cheerful and giggly as [[spoiler:she is talking to her kidnapped Senpai, and later when she plans to track down the Journalist.]] It's even emphasized by the full image of the above picture. [[http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/yandere-simulator/images/0/01/Froondly.png/revision/latest?cb=20160504223320 Think she looks like a happy middle-aged woman?]] Well, [[spoiler:note the knife she's holding behind her back.]]
* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: Her ecstatic sigh after [[spoiler:she forces her sempai to [[FirstNameBasis use her first name]]]] sounds rather...''orgasmic''.
* DotingParent: She absolutely ''adores'' Ayano, and can't wait for her to get a boyfriend of her own. [[spoiler:WordOfGod states that Ryoba sees Ayano as, essentially, the personification of her and her husband's "love".]]
* EmotionlessGirl: It's heavily implied that [[spoiler:like her daughter, she didn't experience emotions until she fell in love.]]
* EmptyEyes: The Journalist describes them as soulless and doll-like.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: She loves her husband and adores her daughter. Yan-chan is indifferent towards her, and her husband [[spoiler:was forced to love her as an effect of StockholmSyndrome]].
* EvilCannotComprehendGood: [[spoiler:When her sempai tries to reason with her to let him free, she seems to legitimately not understand why kidnapping and tying someone to a chair, let alone ''murdering people for love'', is morally questionable.]]
* EvilMatriarch: [[spoiler:You better believe it.]]
* EvilVirtues: She will have the same "Devoted" persona as her daughter. [[spoiler:She equally illustrates why that can be a problem.]]
* EvilerThanThou: [[spoiler:While you, as the player of the game, have the ''option'' to make Yan-chan homicidal and dangerous, Ryoba is ''for certain'' homicidal and dangerous.]]
* ExpositionFairy: [=YandereDev=] has considered making it possible for her to give you advice at the end of each week. Most of it would relate to reputation or avoiding a GameOver, said in the least incriminating way imaginable.
* FauxAffablyEvil: [[spoiler:When she's around her sempai, she's an {{Adorkable}} GenkiGirl who fawns over him and giggles constantly. And it's not ''entirely'' an act, but, aside from her husband and daughter, she couldn't care less about any one around her, because, when it all comes down to it, she's a creepy SerialKiller {{Yandere}} and a potential [[RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil rapist]].]]
* GenerationXerox: Not only is she [[spoiler:a yandere like her daughter]], but her picture shows she looks exactly like Ayano, except older and significantly more voluptuous. That they share a voice actress only further drives the point home.
* GenkiGirl: [[spoiler:A rather creepy example.]]
* GreaterScopeVillain: She is the reason the police are leery about investigating the school. [[spoiler:Ryoba's psychosis being InTheBlood is seemingly the source of Ayano's evil.]]
* GigglingVillain: [[spoiler:In Basement Tape #1 she's giggling a lot out of girlish glee for finally being able to talk to her sempai. Basement Tape #10, recorded decades later (mere days before the game's main campaign starts), shows she hasn't changed a bit.]]
* HappilyMarried: [[spoiler:[[PlayingWithATrope Played with.]] While she is pretty happy she got together with her sempai, he is clearly ''not'' happy.]]
* HiddenBadass: Possibly. She doesn't really ''look'' like [[spoiler:a cold-blooded murderer]] now does she?
* ImpliedDeathThreat: [[spoiler:Tells the journalist that it would be easy to make his death look like a suicide.]]
* InTheBlood: [[spoiler:The first basement cassette suggest that her mother was also a yandere of sorts (or at least kidnapped her husband like she did). WordOfGod says that the yandere trait goes back several generations.]]
* KarmaHoudini: [[spoiler:She was able to live happily with the man of her dreams and raise a daughter.]]
* LikeMotherLikeDaughter: [[spoiler:You can invoke this if you play like the mother and kill other people for love.]]
* TheMaidenNameDebate: WordOfGod states that her husband took her last name, and it's a family tradition. [[spoiler:But would you expect anything else in a family of female yanderes who murder, blackmail and kidnap in pursuit of propagating?]] [[labelnote:Fun Fact!]] Japan requires married couples to have the same surname, but it's not unheard of for the husband to take his wife's name. Here's some reasons it may happen – (1) He's marrying up; her family is in a higher social or economic position and so her name is more valuable. (2) Her family has no sons to carry on their name, but his family has two or more sons (thus his last name is in no danger of dying out).[[/labelnote]]
* [[TheManBehindTheMan The Woman Behind The Girl]]: [[spoiler:Not only is it possible that she was a major influence on Yan-chan's behavior, but, since she ''is'' Yan-chan's mother, Ryoba is ''literally'' the reason Yan-chan exists.]]
* ManipulativeBitch: [[spoiler:She manipulates people who try to get in her way of her sempai]].
* MeaningfulName: In addition to "Aishi" already being explained under Yan-chan's entry, a "ryōba" is [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_saw a type of handsaw]].
* MissingMom: She and her husband are out of town for the 10 weeks that Yandere-chan is running amok. Why is that? [[spoiler:She's hunting the Journalist, since she discovered he was investigating her again.]]
* MurderTheHypotenuse: [[spoiler:It's unknown how many people she killed or whether or not the Phantom Girl was a rival to the mother or if she just simply got in the way. She must've gotten rid of at least a few girls this way, considering that she had to run around with a mop and bucket all day long like Yandere-chan does if she's a killer too.]]
* OpenMindedParent: WordOfGod is that if Yan-chan falls in love with a female Senpai, she'd just be happy that her daughter found love.
* PredecessorVillain: She attended the same school her daughter did and [[spoiler:killed at least one person during her time there.]]
* PunctuatedForEmphasis: She does this in Basement Tape #1 when [[spoiler:the object of her affections won't call her by her given name because he's never spoken with her before.]]
-->''[-[sound of knife]-]'' "Say. My. Name."
* RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil: [[spoiler:[[ImpliedTrope Heavily implied.]] In Basement Tape #1, she is revealed to have kidnapped her sempai and held him against his will until StockholmSyndrome kicked in. Between that and Basement Tape #10 (which takes place mere days before the main campaign of the game), they got married and had a daughter, which obviously means that [[CaptainObvious they had sex]]. Considering how terrified Mr. Aishi is in those two tapes, it is highly unlikely that he consented to any advances. [=YandereDev=] has confirmed that this will be further explored.]]
* RemovingTheRival: [[spoiler:According to the tapes she got rid of some of her rivals through manipulation instead of straight murder.]]
* SignificantDoubleCasting: Shares a voice actress with her daughter, Ayano (i.e., Yan-chan herself). See Yandere-chan's entry for this trope above for ''why'' it's significant.
* SlasherSmile: [[spoiler:The journalist described it in detail. It doesn't sound pretty.]]
* TheSociopath: [[spoiler:Hoo, boy.]]
* StalkerWithACrush: [[spoiler:She stalked her sempai for quite some time until she decided the best way to celebrate her acquittal was to kidnap him.]] [[TheBadGuyWins She got what she wanted]].
* StrongFamilyResemblance: Ryoba's concept art looks a lot like her daughter, except Ryoba has longer hair and looks older (and has a noticeably curvier figure).
* TermsOfEndangerment: [[spoiler:If you listen to the Basement Tapes, you'll hear her use the nickname "darling" quite a bit for her sempai.]]
* VillainOfAnotherStory: [[spoiler:She was an obsessive stalker as well.]]
* VillainProtagonist: [[spoiler:She was a master manipulator and killer who got away with her crimes. She's also the protagonist of the planned "1980s Mode".]]
* VillainWithGoodPublicity: She managed to [[spoiler:convince the public of her total innocence.]] The official characters page also describes her as someone who gets along very well with everyone in her neighborhood, even though she doesn't actually share much about herself.
* WalkingSpoiler: Just look at this page. You can already tell from the ratio of whites-out tropes to normal ones that something's up with this chick. Saying anything about her at all aside from the fact that she's out of the country for ten weeks reveals the entire backstory of the game.
* {{Yandere}}: [[spoiler:She killed at least one person who got in the way of her love-life in high-school and got away with it. Being Yandere seems to be matrilineal.]]

!! Mr. Aishi
[[quoteright:189:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mr_aishi.PNG]]
->'''Voiced By''': Austin Hively

The father of our protagonist. He and his wife will be out of town for 10 weeks, so they cannot be interacted with during Story Mode. However, we find out plenty of information about them throughout tapes and WordOfGod.
----
* AbductionIsLove: According to the Basement Tapes, [[spoiler:Ryoba kidnapped him so that he could be hers.]]
* AloneWithThePsycho: [[spoiler:In Basement Tape #1 with Ryoba. Poor guy.]]
* BreakTheCutie: [[spoiler:Being held captive by Ryoba and forced to undergo StockholmSyndrome has crushed his spirit.]]
* DeadpanSnarker: Indulges in this at Ryoba's expense. [[spoiler:This is probably a way to cope with his StockholmSyndrome.]]
-->'''Ryoba''': Are you jealous, darling? Are you worried that someone is going to steal your beloved wife away?\\
'''Father''': That's… [[StalkerWithACrush actually the last thing I worry about]].\\
'''Ryoba''': Oh, darling! That's so romantic!\\
'''Father''': …right…
* DistressedDude: [[spoiler:He was kidnapped by Ryoba and forced to love her.]] She got what she wanted in the end.
* TheFaceless: Unlike his wife, his sprite doesn't show his face. In fact, it's hiden by a glare of light.
* HenpeckedHusband: PlayedForDrama. He has a difficult time standing up for himself against Ryoba, even when she decides to take a long trip to America just before their daughter starts school. [[spoiler:It's actually a more extreme case, since the relationship literally started when Ryoba kidnapped him, and she's been keeping an eye on him since.]]
* HeteronormativeCrusader: Zig-zagged, due to shifting WordOfGod. On the one hand, his instinct is to disapprove of his daughter in a lesbian relationship owing to Japan's conservative views on homosexuality. However, upon reflection, he would probably encourage such a pairing, since it would likely mean the end of the bloodline of {{yandere}} Aishi women.
* HiddenEyes: His face in the picture frame is obscured by glare. That said, it's not hard to figure out how he looks since, like how Ryoba is designed to look like an older Ayano, he's designed to look like an older Senpai.
* InSeriesNickname: Ryoba always calls him, "darling".
* IntergenerationalFriendship: WordOfGod apparently stated that the various Senpais of the Aishi household share a close kinship with each other, as a way of dealing with their {{Yandere}} spouses. Presumably, he'll have this with Taro[=/=]Taeko after Yan-chan is successful.
* NoNameGiven: So far, he's just called "Mr. Aishi". It's possible, like Senpai, that he will eventually get his own name.
* OverprotectiveDad: But not to whom you'd expect. If he comes back from America and sees Ayano has caught herself a male Senpai, he – recalling how Ryoba turned his life upside-down and knowing ''firsthand'' what Aishi women [[{{Yandere}} are capable of]] – would be worried for ''Senpai''. This is why when Ryoba expresses the hope that Ayano will have a boyfriend by the time they return, his reply is a dejected "I hope not."
* ParentalAbandonment: He and Ryoba are out of town for 10 weeks [[spoiler:because Ryoba is hunting down the Journalist.]]
* ProperlyParanoid: [[spoiler:Since he knows what it's like to have a {{Yandere}} pursue someone, how could he not be worried about his daughter continuing the Aishi family tradition?]]
* RapeAsBackstory: Somewhat implied thus far. [[spoiler:The first Basement Tape has him kidnapped by Ryoba, who keeps him captive until he "loves" her. In the present, he is still with her, but clearly abhors and is frightened of her despite them conceiving a child together. Worth mentioning is that even if he consented to any advances, it could still fall under QuestionableConsent due to the circumstances of Ryoba being a {{Yandere}} who probably wouldn't take "no" for an answer.]] WordOfGod says the issue will be tackled fully in future Basement Tapes.
* SempaiKouhai: He was a year or two ahead of Ryoba in school.
* SignificantDoubleCasting: Shares a voice actor with a male Senpai. See Senpai's SignificantDoubleCasting entry for ''why'' it's significant.
* StockholmSyndrome: [[spoiler:He's been held captive by Ryoba for so long that he can no longer stand up to her.]]
* TokenGoodTeammate: He's the only good person in the Aishi household.
* UnluckyEverydude: Let's see, a normal high school guy who was [[spoiler:kidnapped by a yandere underclassman, forced to love her, impregnated her with another yandere, and may be a witness to events repeating? He's the very definition of unlucky.]]
* WalkingSpoiler: For the same reason as his wife, [[spoiler:because talking about him would reveal that Ryoba is also a {{Yandere}}.]]
* WhyCouldntYouBeDifferent: For him, it's actually justified. [[spoiler:He's frightened that Yandere-chan will continue the family tradition, and would be happy if it turned out she was a "normal girl".]] That said, he still loves her and cares for her.

!! The Journalist
[[quoteright:135:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/the_journalist.png]]

->'''Voiced by''': Bradley Gareth

An ex-journalist who was investigating Akademi High in the 80's. He has recorded ten cassette tapes that are now scattered around the school grounds. Apparently, he wants his daughter to find them.
-----
* AbusiveParents: He never really cared for his kid because he [[spoiler:slightly blamed her for his wife's DeathByChildbirth.]]
* TheAlcoholic: [[spoiler:Became this after the court case.]]
* AllOfTheOtherReindeer: [[spoiler:The Journalist became this after the girl who framed him won.]]
* AnguishedDeclarationOfLove: [[spoiler:In the last of his tapes before he tries to finally take down Ryoba Aishi, he uses the tape to tell his daughter that he loves her]].
* ArchEnemy: [[spoiler: [[GreaterScopeVillain Ryoba]] [[{{Yandere}} Aishi.]] He has spent ''decades'' trying to bring her to justice, but [[OutGambitted she's outsmarted him at every turn.]] We have yet to find out if they meet in America or (more importantly) if he'll finally succeed in his endeavors.]]
* BadassLongcoat: He wears a trenchcoat. Justified because [[spoiler: he wants to keep Ryoba from recognizing him]].
* BigGood: The closest thing this game has to having one. His entire character is trying to bring [[spoiler:Ryoba]] to justice.
* ClearMyName: Had to after [[spoiler:the girl he stalked said he was a liar and a pervert.]]
* FourthDateMarriage: He got married to his wife after six months of knowing her. This was because he was in a terrible place when he met her.
* HeroAntagonist: He attempted to bring a murderer to justice. Unfortunately, [[NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished his act of altruism ruined his life]].
* HeroOfAnotherStory: He tried to do the right thing and failed. He might also be the VillainOfAnotherStory, [[VillainProtagonist considering whose point of view we're looking from.]]
* HeroWithBadPublicity: He got it after [[spoiler:the girl he turned in was acquitted. He saw disgrace in every pair of eyes that looked at him.]] You see, he [[spoiler:found out that a yandere girl was stalking an upperclassman and seemed pretty suspicious back in the 1980's. The Journalist stalked her and found out that she was constantly running around with a mop and a bucket as if she always had to clean something up. Not only that, but any girl that spoke to the stalked upperclassman got into deep trouble that separated them from the boy. So after much convincing the Journalist was able to get the yandere taken into custody. Despite the evidence the Journalist found, the yandere girl managed to slip away with some very persuasive acting. Because of this, the Journalist has been notorious for being a "pervert" and a "glory-hound".]]
* ICantBelieveAGuyLikeYouWouldNoticeMe: He admits he has no idea why his wife married him.
* IDidWhatIHadToDo: He's prepared to let [[spoiler:the murderous woman claim one more victim just so he can have proof of her guilt. However, the Journalist slipped up and now he has to flee the country. [[FromBadToWorse And our good ol' buddy Ryoba follows him]].]]
* IntrepidReporter: Unfortunately, he just happened to pick the wrong target...
* MaternalDeathBlameTheChild: He found it hard to love his daughter after [[spoiler:his wife died giving birth to her.]]
* MistakenForPedophile: One of the reasons why [[spoiler:Ryoba was acquitted was because she claimed that the Journalist was stalking her for lecherous reasons.]] Ironically, [[spoiler:Ryoba herself is a StalkerWithACrush, though for someone slightly older than her.]]
* MyGreatestFailure: He considers [[spoiler:interacting with the yandere from the tapes to be this.]]
* NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished: He found out [[spoiler:who the murderer was and accused her, but without proof he was laughed out of court and lost his job.]]
* NotWhatItLooksLike: He [[spoiler:stalked a schoolgirl in an attempt to collect proof of her misdeeds.]] Thing is, the way he makes it sound it seems like he genuinely had good intentions at heart. [[spoiler:He was also right, considering that very same girl threatened him with death. She said straight to his face that she could easily make his death look like a suicide.]]
* ParentalNeglect: His daughter basically had to raise herself after he fell into depression.
* RunOrDie: After being [[spoiler:confronted by the murderous woman the second time after 20 years, he panics and leaves the country, wondering whether she's crazy enough to follow him. ''[[FromBadToWorse She is.]]'']]

!! The Journalist's Wife
The woman who met the Journalist while he was in a slump and married him soon after.
-----
* ClingyJealousGirl: Around her man. She hated seeing him with other women.
* DeathByChildbirth: [[spoiler:She died giving birth to her first child.]]
* FourthDateMarriage: Got married to her husband after six months of knowing him.
* GreenEyedMonster: She got envious and jealous every time she saw her man talking to another woman.
* LivingEmotionalCrutch: To her husband, since no one else liked him.
* ManicPixieDreamGirl: She brought happiness and light into the Journalist's life when he was feeling down. On the flip side, she wasn't all that stable and he has his doubts about her reasons for getting close to him.
* PosthumousCharacter: See above. She died over 15 years before the main story.
* WhatDoesSheSeeInHim: It's unknown why she liked [[spoiler:the framed journalist who had lost all credibility]]. Even he has no idea.
* {{Yandere}}: Heavily implied to be one for The Journalist, albeit arguably the most downplayed and sympathetic example so far.

!!Mr. Ronshaku

->''"You scumbag! What have you done to my daughter?!"''

->'''Voiced By:''' Kellen Goff

The owner of Ronshaku Loans, and Musume Ronshaku's father.
----
* AdultFear: He ends up on the receiving end of it when his daughter (who he's shown to love dearly) goes missing, and the next thing he sees of her is that she's tied up, blindfolded and begging for help. Even for a LoanShark, that's gotta sting.
* DotingParent: He spoils his daughter rotten.
* EvilerThanThou: This piece of filth has ''nothing'' on Yandere-chan.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: He's a ruthless LoanShark who makes unscrupulous deals and threatens his clients with violence, but he genuinely cares about his daughter [[spoiler:and doesn't hesitate to compromise his business when her life is threatened]].
* GutturalGrowler: He essentially growls his lines during the voiced text message segment. This both highlights his evil nature, [[spoiler:and how angry he is at his daughter being kidnapped]].
* LoanShark: It's what his whole business is about.
* PunnyName: Ronshaku is {{Engrish}} for LoanShark.
* YouMonster: He says this verbatim when Yandere-chan [[spoiler:threatens to removes each finger from his precious daughter for every day that Ronshaku Loans keeps its clients in debt]].
* YoureInsane: He calls Yandere-chan insane when [[spoiler:she tells him to release all debts while negotiating the safe return of his daughter]].

[[folder:Extras]]

!! Beldere-chan

->''"Die, monster! You don't belong in this school!"''

->'''Voiced By:''' Michaela Laws

The protagonist of ''[[VideoGame/CastlevaniaSymphonyOfTheNight Yanvania: Senpai of the Night]]''. She is a student of the Akademi Institute, a boarding school that teaches magic for young men and women who have high potential to become witches and wizards. The upperclassman who she has a crush on resurrected the powerful succubus Dracula-chan, causing all the students to disappear. Beldere-chan must defeat Dracula-chan before the sun rises, for if the quest is failed, the students will be lost forever and Dracula-chan will achieve full power.
-----
* AdaptationalHeroism: Beldere-chan is not a psychopath, unlike Yan-chan. [[PetTheDog While she loves her Senpai, she cares about the other students as well, and does not wish to harm them.]]
* ThePowerOfLove: Many of her attacks have a love-based theme, and the only reason she stands a chance against Dracula-chan is because she loves her Senpai so much.
* WhipItGood: Like the hero she is a parody of, her main weapon of choice is a whip. The only difference is that it's made of hearts.

!! Dracula-chan

->''"What is a Senpai? A miserable little pile of heartbreak! But enough talk...have at you!"''

->'''Voiced By:''' Cayla Martin

''Yanvania''[='=]s antagonist. Every 100 years, Dracula-chan will rise from her grave, begging for a blood tribute from a upperclassman at Akademi Institute. If the student complies, all of the students will disappear. Only a young woman who was in love with the upperclassman can defeat her.
-----
* AdaptationalVillainy: She looks a lot like Sakyu Basu from the main game. However, unlike Sakyu, who seems like a fundamentally decent person, Dracula-chan has no qualms about making every student bar the upperclassman who made the pact with her disappear.
* FemaleMisogynist: Implied to be this. When Beldere-chan accuses her of stealing boys' hearts and making them her slaves, she responds with "perhaps the same could be said of all girls".
* HornyDevils: Though more vampiric than most examples.
* OurVampiresAreDifferent: She's technically a succubus, rises only once every 100 years, and it's not specified if this blood tribute involves actually drinking blood. There's also all her magical powers. She is, of course, based on ''Franchise/{{Castlevania}}''[='=]s Dracula.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: Her costume doesn't leave much to the imagination, befitting a succubus.
* ThisCannotBe: Says the phrase word for word as Beldere-chan kills her.

!!Sakura

-->''"Who is he? Why is his head on fire??"''
-->''"...and why do I feel like seriously making out with him?"''

The protagonist of the AprilFoolsDay DatingSim spinoff, ''Burning Love''. She [[AmbiguousGender (or he)]] is a student who encounters the Flame Demon in the Occult Club room and tries to "woo" him.
-----
* AmbiguouslyGay / AmbiguouslyBi: Because of their AmbiguousGender and the fact that they are attracted to the male Flame Demon. See the Flame Demon's entry above.
* AmbiguousGender: Although signs point to them being a girl.
* ArsonMurderAndJaywalking: If Sakura can successfully seduce the Flame Demon, the options presented for their next date are as follows;
** [[spoiler:[[KillItWithFire Kill everyone at my school with fire]].]]
** [[spoiler:[[TakeOverTheWorld Conquer the demon realm]].]]
** [[HormoneAddledTeenager Make out. Super hard]].
* DealWithTheDevil: They strike a deal with the Flame Demon; if they fail to "woo" him, he will [[YourSoulIsMine claim their soul]]. If he enjoys the date, he'll be their boyfriend.
* DidYouJustRomanceCthulhu: Their primary objective in the story is to "woo" the Flame Demon.
* DoNotTauntCthulhu: [[spoiler:Sakura's soul will be taken if the Flame Demon does not appreciate the flame puns.]]
* ForTheEvulz: [[spoiler:They think that a murderous rampage of fire is a good idea for a second date.]]
* GenderNeutralWriting: The default name is a traditionally female one, and they romance a male demon, but the name is optional, and nothing in dialogue explicitly clarifies their gender.
* HelloInsertNameHere: The [[PlayerCharacter player character]]'s default name is Sakura, but is ultimately chosen by the player.
* HeroOfAnotherStory: [[spoiler:Subverted. They're more like a VillainOfAnotherStory, but that doesn't become clear until the end.]]
* HormoneAddledTeenager: They have the sudden urge to make out with the Flame Demon in their first encounter.
* HurricaneOfPuns: If Sakura makes too many stupid "fire" puns on the first date with the Flame Demon, [[spoiler:he will take their soul.]]
* IncrediblyLamePun: They can make a couple of "heat" and "fire" puns during the date with the Flame Demon.
* InterspeciesRomance: If they succeed at wooing the Flame Demon. Sakura is (presumably) a normal human, while the Flame Demon is quite literally a HumanoidAbomination with a flame for a head [[spoiler:who WasOnceAMan]].
* KillItWithFire: [[spoiler:Burning all of their classmates to death was their idea.]]
* LoveAtFirstSight: See HormoneAddledTeenager above.
* ManipulativeBastard: Sakura's dialogue options and thoughts while on the date with the Flame Demon suggest that they are, at least to some extent, stroking his ego and playing with his emotions to their advantage.
* SpannerInTheWorks: If the player decides to have them take the ritual knife to a teacher, Yandere-chan's attempt to cover up her murders would've been foiled, and possibly even lead to her arrest.
* TakeOverTheWorld: Aside from [[spoiler:unleashing fiery death]] upon on all of the Akademi students, this is one possible idea for a second date [[spoiler:that Sakura can suggest]].
* UnholyMatrimony: With the Flame Demon, if their first date is successful.
* VillainProtagonist: [[spoiler:They have no problems with going on a killing spree with their new demonic boyfriend, nor were they adverse to the idea of obtaining demonic power from him.]]
* YourSoulIsMine: This is the consequence of a bad first date with the Flame Demon.

!!FUN GIRL
[[quoteright:189:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fun_girl.png]]
->''"Your idea of fun seems very very interesting."''

An EasterEgg character that could only be accessed through the game files in the February 1st 2016 build, where she would converse with the player in a series of text messages. Now cannot be accessed through the game proper, but she can be seen on the official website in another EasterEgg.
-----
* AdultFear: You are so confident you are right you test your machine on your daughter, and then she is not only killed, but at the same time living, blasted across space. Now imagine you can't even remember doing so, and she is watching every universe with you in it, and your children won't remember their sibling.
* {{Expy}}: Of Dr. Gaster from ''VideoGame/{{Undertale}}''. Both were involved in experiments that caused them to break across time and space. Both existing and having never existed in the multiverse. Furthermore, in recent builds trying to access her will spark the message "But nobody came." Her appearance, black background, speaking style (white text that appears letter by letter), and performing a mild JumpScare before crashing the game also somewhat resembles [[spoiler:Chara at the end of the Genocide route]].
* GratuitousJapanese: In both of her extant EasterEggs[[labelnote:*]] (one accessible by entering the KonamiCode on the official website's Character page, the other by decoding [=YandereDev's=] link to an unlisted Youtube video)[[/labelnote]], the same Japanese phrase appears, which roughly translates to "We're going to have a lot of fun together."
* InterfaceScrew: In the January 2017 build, if the player alters the game's code to try to spawn Osana, FUN GIRL will chase them and, when she catches them, cause the game to crash. When the game is re-opened, FUN GIRL will hijack the title screen to scold the player for messing with the game's files.
* KonamiCode: Go to the [[spoiler:Characters]] page on the game's website and punch in the code to get a look at her.
* NightmareFace: She has white skin and hair, and black gunk coming out of her eyes and (smiling) mouth. Overall, she's not pretty to look at. Her January 2017 appearance also gives her some [[SlasherSmile some exaggerated expressions]], as well as a brief [[TheBlank blank face]].
* NightmareFuelStationAttendant: Besides her terrifying origins, there is her creepy appearance, her somewhat sinister dialogue and her morbid fascination with Yandere-chan/The player.
* NoFourthWall: In the January 2017 build, she addresses the player to chastise them for hacking the game in order to spawn Osana, saying that [=YandereDev=] asked her to prevent players from doing so, then notes that the player will find some way around her due to being the type of person who edits game files.
* RetGone: Her fate in-universe. Until the website EasterEgg this was her fate out-of-universe too.
* SlasherSmile: Most of her facial expressions during her appearance in the January 2017 build fall into this category.
* TaintedVeins: Her website appearance has these visible on her arms and legs.

!!Yandere-kun
[[quoteright:115:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yandere_kun_normal.png]]
[[caption-width-right:115:Normal]]
[[caption-width-right:115:[[labelnote: Bloody]]http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bloody_yan_kun.png[[/labelnote]]]]

-----
* AwesomeButImpractical: The reason he's not in the game despite fan desire is because having a male Yan-chan would mean redoing all her animations and lines for the male body and voice. However, [=YandereDev=] has mentioned it would make for a decent Kickstarter stretch goal.
* DepravedBisexual: Like Yan-chan, he'll vie for Senpai no matter what gender Senpai is. That said, [[EvilerThanThou one possibility for his personality]] emphasizes the depraved part more.
* EmotionlessGirl: One possibility is for him to be a male version of this, just like Yandere-chan.
* EvilerThanThou: A possible interpretation of Yandere-kun's alternative personality. Yandere-chan is expressly stated to be emotionless (except when Senpai is involved) and takes no pleasure in killing. Yandere-kun's alternative personality portrays him as a sociopath who sees the whole thing as a game ([[LeaningOnTheFourthWall which it kinda is]]).
* MoreDeadlyThanTheMale: Inverted. One of his possible personalities is merely a GenderFlip of Yan-chan, and the other is EvilerThanThou to her.
* {{Sadist}}: While Yandere-chan eliminates rivals so that she won't be left without the one thing that brings her happiness, Yandere-kun (well, one possible personality for him) hunts them because he finds it fun.
* SpearCounterpart: He's this to Yandere-chan.
* {{Yandere}}: Just like his female counterpart.

!!Nemesis-chan
[[quoteright:250:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nemesisportrait__0305.png]]
->'''Info-chan''': ''"Strange. I have no profile for this student. ...wait. I think I know who she is. You are in danger. Avoid her. Do not engage. I repeat: Do. Not. Engage."''

A girl who hunts down Ayano in the Mission Mode. She pretends to be a normal student until her prey is within striking distance, and relentlessly pursues her target.
----
* BoobsOfSteel: Her default appearance is quite large chested, and she's thus far the only character in the game who can outright KILL Yandere-chan.
* ConspicuousGloves: She always wears black gloves, unless the player has chosen to have her disguise herself.
* TheDreaded: Info-Chan recognizes her, and warns Ayano to avoid her, showing that her reputation is well known enough that Info-Chan knows she is not to be trifled with.
* EeriePaleSkinnedBrunette: Her default appearance has pale skin, wavy black hair, and "haunting" red eyes - making her look like a vampire.
* {{Expy}}: She's described as operating in a similar manner to [=SA-X=] from ''VideoGame/MetroidFusion''.
* MasterOfDisguise: An option in the Mission Mode menu gives her the ability to assume the identity of another female student. If she does this, she'll blend into the crowd so perfectly that Ayano won't see her coming unless she's on-guard. Oh, and ''which'' girl's identity she assumes is random. If you take a photo of her in-disguise, though, Info-chan will notice that something's off.
* MessyHair: In her default appearance, which adds to her distinctive looks.
* MightyGlacier: She can't be beaten in a fair fight – on harder difficulties she can't be beaten ''at all'' – but unlike Ayano, she never runs (she ''walks'' faster than Ayano, though).
* MultipleChoicePast: She could possibly be a bodyguard, a rival assassin, or someone with a personal vendetta against Ayano.
* NoSell: Masks are completely useless against her. She will know it is you.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: She has "haunting" red eyes that accentuate her eerie appearance and the fact that she's a killer even more dangerous than Ayano.
* SerialKillerKiller: She's hunting Ayano, who is a ProfessionalKiller in the Mission Mode.
* TheStoic: She has a serious expression on her face at all times.
