* LipstickLesbian: She constantly seeks female companionship on and off the battlefield, sees men as servants to be used rather than romantically pursued, and makes suspiciously sexual advances on just about every woman in the party. In her personal Heart-To-Heart, she wishes to hold a banquette where she lists off every last female character in the main cast as her guest list. In the Japanese script, her orientation and goals are stated outright, while in the English script her being solely attracted to women is kept mainly ambiguous but is still outright pointed out in a Heart-To-Heart with Mythra and Kora.

* PersonOfMassDestruction: She destroyed a temple and killed nearly everyone in it by herself as well as took down many Laias that was overwhelming the party in the side quest "The Calm and the Storm". However, her [[WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity tremendous power]] caused her to attack the party and nearly overwhelmed them including the Aegis (though admittedly Mythra and her abilities are never used in the cutscene confrontations). If she hadn't stopped herself from proceeding on the attack the party may have died on the spot. Even in the Blade-weakening environment of the Crucible she puts up a tremendous fight, though the party (also effected in the Crucible of course) still manage to beat her without killing her, giving her confidence in their words that they will stop her rampages as many times as needed.

The various Blades in Xenoblade Chronicles 2, not including the main Blades used by playable Drivers. To return to the index, click [[Characters/XenobladeChronicles2 here]]

[[foldercontrol]]

[[folder:In General]]
* AchillesHeel: While blades can normally rapidly heal from any injury (albeit they can still be knocked unconscious), with a few exceptions (such as an Aegis) significant damage to the Core Crystal will kill them in short order. That said, its not a weakness that many can take advantage of, as it takes a great deal of power and precision to damage a Core Crystal. Only two characters in the game successfully use this tactic to kill Blades in battle (Mythra and Jin). A more easily exploited weakness involves the various methods to block a Blade's ability to absorb ether from the atmosphere, as without this ability most Blades are basically powerless.
* CantDropTheHero: The main Blades, for story reasons, can't be unequipped from their Drivers. [[spoiler: Doesn't apply to New Game+.]]
* CastOfSnowflakes: The rare Blades all have very distinct appearances, as well as unique Heart-to-Hearts and questlines.
* DamagerHealerTank: There are three types of Blades: Attacker, Healer, and Tank.
* DangerousForbiddenTechnique: Most Blades have at least two: [[spoiler:the Driver impaling themselves on their Blade's weapon to temporarily empower themselves]], and [[spoiler:consuming part of a human's body to become a Flesh Eater]].
* EquippableAlly: Equipping a Blade grants the Driver the ability to perform certain Arts. Each playable Driver can equip up to three Blades at a time.
* ExoticWeaponSupremacy: Every Blade is associated with a weapon type. Naturally, all but one of the story-important Blades have unique weapons that you can't obtain otherwise. Still, several of these unique weapons are bog-standard fantasy fare such as Greatswords; while the generic weapons feature such interesting tools as [[MixAndMatchWeapon shield-hammers]] and [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyX IP-friendly blitzballs]].
* HalfHumanHybrid: [[spoiler:Flesh Eater Blades are Blades that have incorporated human flesh into their bodies. This allows them to persist even if their Driver dies, and allows them to resonate with fellow Blades just like a Driver. In addition, their Core Crystals have a tinge of red incorporated to signify the change instead of being the usual blue. The inverse, a human that has had a Blade's Core Crystal incorporated into their body, also exists; Mikhail, Zeke, and Amalthus are all "Blade Eaters".]]
* ImmortalLifeIsCheap: Due to all Blade's innate HealingFactor and immortality, novice drivers tend to use their Blades as living shields. Vandham warns Rex against this tactic - equal partnerships produce the strongest bonds and powers.
* LaserGuidedAmnesia: A Blade whose Driver dies reverts back to Core Crystal form, and after an idle period, can resonate with another Driver to reincarnate the Blade. However, the Blade loses all of their memories in the process except for knowledge of their own name and their basic abilities, which can be disturbing to people who knew the Blade's prior incarnation. This frequent amnesia bothers some Blades more than others, with many Blades keeping diaries in an effort to preserve their memories between incarnations. It all too often fails, due to the tendency of Drivers to die violent deaths.
* LimitBreak: Each Blade has three increasingly powerful Specials built up by performing Arts. The Driver tosses their weapon back to the Blade to perform them. At maximum Affinity, the gauge can build to a Level 4 Special - these moves pause the normal flow of combat to focus on the spectacle. [[InvulnerableAttack Enemy attacks will whiff during these techniques.]]
* LivingWeapon: Each Blade is both an individual and a weapon, with the weapon being more powerful in their Driver's hands than the Blade's own. If the weapon is broken or lost, the Blade can create a new copy of it from their own core.
* OnlyTheChosenMayWield: If you don't have the potential/aptitude to be a Driver, trying to awaken a Blade has some ''nasty'' backlash on your body due to it not being able to handle the core crystal's power (ranging from nosebleeds that last for days, to outright death from massive hemorrhaging all over the body). Beyond that, however, they're not picky: Drivers include humanoids, but also monsters (an early boss fight pits you against a Driver that happens to be an Elder Arachno) and, in special cases, even other Blades.
* PowerCrystal: Each Blade has a Core Crystal inside their body (almost always their chest). If the Core Crystal is destroyed (or in most cases just badly damaged), the Blade dies for good. [[spoiler:Said crystals are actually technologically advanced computation and memory devices, with the Aegis being originally the manager of all the Core Crystals. They were originally developed as a replacement for human brains in a quest for immortality.]]
* {{Reincarnation}}: After a Blade ceases to function, they're returned to their Core Crystal. Once a new Driver bonds with them, they're reborn without any memories of their past life.
* RequiredPartyMember: The main Blades for each party member (Dromarch for Nia, for example) cannot be removed from their Driver's palette of active Blades.
* SapientSteed: Quadrupedal Blades can be ridden for faster travelling.
* StanceSystem: They act as the proverbial stances in the game's StanceSystem, with most Blades contributing three Arts apiece.
* SuperpowerLottery: [[spoiler:Blades who become Flesh Eaters may end up with the worst of both worlds, losing both their immortality and the ability to properly respire ether, crippling their Blade powers. Others gain the ability to resonate like a Driver; or StoryBreakerPower to rival the might of an Aegis. Most (but not all) suffer debilitating side effects. The very luckiest ones gain immense power with no side-effects at all, becoming the best possible mix of Driver and Blade.]]
* TronLines: Common blades and some of the unique blades have these. The rare blades can have them on their clothes; skin or in the case of Perun, hair.
* WeaponOfChoice: Each Blade powers a specific weapon type, which usually gives a visual reference to their role. BladeOnAStick wielders tend to focus on offense, {{Bare Fisted Monk}}s tend to be healers, and so on.
* ViciousCycle: Late in the game [[spoiler:it is revealed that Blades are not truly immortal. Eventually their Cores return to the Titans that birthed them and become new Titans themselves, from which new Core Crystals and Blades are born, and the titans eventually die of old age. Each new phase involves a total loss of memory]].

The most common type of Blade. While they lack the versatility and growth potential of Rare Blades, they help fill out gaps in your party and complete mercenary missions. Their strength is estimated in "crowns"; 1-4 crowns denote increasingly strong common Blades, and 5 marks a Rare.

* BoringButPractical: Especially in the early game, before you get any good special Blades. Once you have a full set, they remain useful for Merc missions and for the key items earned by filling out their affinity charts, which can be cashed in for large amounts of WP.
* CantCatchUp: Common blades don't have nearly as many segments on their affinity chart, so it's unlikely you'll be using that 1-crown Blade all the way through the endgame.
* ComMons: You will probably get a lot of these while trying to get a rare Blade.
* CrutchCharacter: Tend to be this until one can draw enough Rare Blades, or in Mercenary Missions. ''Especially'' the one Gramps hands over, which cannot be released or transferred.
* EmergencyWeapon: The Blade that Gramps hands over cannot be ditched or transferred.
* FacelessMooks: Used by most NPC Drivers.
* InfinityMinusOneSword: 4-crown common Blades can very useful warriors. They're still of considerable value even outside of battle, as they leave behind a super rare Overdrive Protocol if released with a filled-out affinity chart.
* PlayerMooks: Their main purpose in the mid-game is to send them on mercenary missions.
* ElementalPowers: Can come in any element save for Light.
* YouAllLookFamiliar: Common Blades come in 4 body types, [[ArtificialHuman Male]], [[RobotGirl Female]], [[TopHeavyGuy Big Male]], and [[PantheraAwesome Quadruped]], with slight variations based on their element, weapon, and helmet design. Given the number of Core Crystals you'll be awakening, you'll see all the different variants quite quickly.

* BadassBookworm: Enjoys books, especially ancient literature and historical texts. Her weapons are spiked tomes that materialize around her wrists like gauntlets, and a giant volume hangs from her back on a chain. Her strength stat is also higher than average compared to some of the other rare Blades.
* CashGate: Her Affinity Nodes are opened by acquiring and translating ancient books. One of them can be found on auction in Argentum, where the bidding options range from pennies to a small fortune... Subverted, though, as the Nopon are such penny-pinchers that even the lowest available bid is sufficient enough to buy the book.
* HappyDance: When she gets really excited, she dances by hopping on one foot and spinning in place while shaking her hand above her head.
* IChooseToStay: [[spoiler:Subverted. At the end of her personal side quest, she decides to make the World Tree's data archive her home for the rest of her life due to its wealth of knowledge (she notes it will take one-thousand years to study all of it, but her Driver won't live as long). However, she can still travel with the party and be sent on Merc Missions. She'll just be spending her free time in the archive instead of Garfront.]]
* PaperMaster: Her robe is made of sheets of paper, and her attacks are accompanied by pages flying everywhere.
* PowerFist: Manifests a pair of combat knuckles (in the form of books that project energy spikes).
* TooManyBelts: Has several belts integrated into her outfit.
* WorthyOpponent: In her Heart-to-Heart, she matches wits with a scholarly Nopon who laid eyes on the same book she wanted. No one wins, but the Nopon bows out gracefully and allows her to purchase the text.
* WhammyBid: During an auction in Argentum, you have the option to bid a large quantity of gold for a Tome of Morytha; the other bidders are putting up laughably small amounts. The auction may drag out longer than necessary unless you stump them all with a sack of cash, one of which is also a laughably small amount (30 G).

* AnAxeToGrind: Unlike most {{Cute Witch}}es, she's armed with a battleaxe.
* BigNo: Agate mistakes a Nopon for a giant bug. She screams when it starts moving toward her.
* CuteWitch: Her outfit is designed to resemble a witch's dress, hat 'n all.
* GemstoneAssault: Agate's Specials kick up brilliant pink jewels from the ground to pierce foes.
* GoalInLife: Unlike many Blades, Agate is reborn with a specific desire. Because she will one day return to her Core Crystal, she wants to unearth a brand new mineral that's never been seen before. [[spoiler:Her personal sidequest ends with the discovery of her own gemstone: the real-life mineral, agate.]]
* LadyOfAdventure: Her intro cutscene and field lines make it clear that Agate has an absolute blast just exploring the world and seeing what there is to find.
* MeaningfulName: Her Japanese name, Meno, directly means "Agate". Interestingly, it's an InvertedTrope within the game world. Agate is a rock-hunter as a hobby and her personal quest is to find a new mineral to name after herself.
* {{Understatement}}: Tora chimes up when Agate casually mentions that she has a "bit of a problem" with bugs.

* CreepyGood: She means well, but her cyborg-like appearance, TrueSight, questionable ethics, and obsessive attachment to her Driver make her a little unnerving even to her own allies.
* CreepyLongFingers: Averted. Her artwork makes her look like she has a giant, skeletal hand holding her Ether Cannon, but it's just a part of the cannon itself.
* DarkIsNotEvil: She is a Dark Blade with puppet-like limbs and a ruthless approach to solving problems; but she is ultimately loyal to the party. At least, as long as her beloved Driver is there.
* GlassCannon: Par for the course with Ether Cannon users. Her strength is amplified when her Driver is badly hurt, which means her best work is usually done seconds from KO.
* ImprobableAimingSkills: In her personal side quest, she was able to shoot down an airship with one well-placed shot from her [[{{BFG}} Ether Cannon]] thanks to her TrueSight.
* JackBauerInterrogationTechnique: During her personal quest, she squeezes information out of a bioterrorist by threatening to force-feed him his own poison (which is strong enough to kill Titans).
* MagicalEye: Her left eye flares purple when she activates her TrueSight. With it, she can spy on anyone, anywhere - even on other continents. [[ParanoiaFuel Don't run.]]
* MarionetteMotion: She looks and dances like a ballerina puppet. In her summoning cutscene, her limbs are visibly held up by strings.
* StalkerWithACrush: Gives off this vibe with her Driver, whomever they may be.
* TokenEvilTeammate: Not really evil per say, but out of all the optional Blades the party can awaken, Azami is one of the most ruthless, even by [[DarkIsNotEvil Dark Blade]] standards.
* {{Yandere}}: Azami does not appreciate those who prevent her from monopolizing her Driver. Some of her personal Merc Missions involve targeting these individuals (whether lethally or not is unclear, but all she clarifies is that they've been punished at the end). She doesn't react well to being sent on Merc Missions either, as she interprets it as her Driver looking for an excuse to get rid of her. * {{Acrofatic}}: He is absurdly fast; he's somehow able to travel from one Titan to another in less than a second, and can steal just about anything from an Indoline statue to Emperor Niall's underwear without being noticed.
* BellyMouth: His entire body is one giant mouth, letting him gobble down vast quantities of food. It's also where he hides his Bitball and [[BreathWeapon various other weapons]].
* BigEater: His huge size isn't just for show; he can eat food without ever getting full, and all of his Affinity Chart requirements pertain to food in some way.
* BizarreAlienBiology: Boreas is ''weird''. Despite the aforementioned BellyMouth (with no digestive system to be seen) he still has a head... that he can take off and juggle around like it's a hat. His limbs are penguin-like flaps that morph into large hands when he needs to hold something. While most rare Blades just look weird, Boreas' body is a total mystery.
* CashGate: One of multiple Blades that require some degree of monetary investment to power up. That said, unlike Sheba and her piggybank, and Adenine and her ancient tomes, filling up his food stash should be comparatively-affordable.
* DiscOneNuke: Provided that you unlock him early, he's one of the game's most durable healers. His skills are fairly easy to upgrade, too - just buy him a lot of food.
* ExtremeOmnivore: By his logic, if it tastes good, it's on the menu. He jokes about [[ImAHumanitarian potentially eating Nopon if they are tasty enough]] in a conversation with Tora, but draws the line at actually doing so.
* MeaningfulName: Depending on language, either the Greek god of the north wind, or the fastest runner in the Buddhist pantheon.
* RealMenWearPink: One of his favored item types is Cosmetics.
-->'''Boreas:''' How do I look? Pretty?
* StoneWall: What makes him so desired as a healer. Boreas has absurdly high defense ratios, which is rare for healers and even more so for Bitball users. Even if the designated tank goes down, Boreas' Driver might actually last long enough to get everyone on their feet again.

* CuteMonsterGirl: Perhaps the straightest example in the game, given her LittleBitBeastly aspects go to a further extreme than usual while at the same time keeping her very humanoid in the face and overall body
* HiddenDepths: She has a talent for ice sculpture, using her freezing powers to preserve flowers and other items as delicate reliefs.
* KansaiRegionalAccent: She's given the a Texan SouthernBelle accent in the dub which leads to a weird case of translation during her side quest. In Japanese, a little girl tells her she sounds like Zeke (who has the same accent), but in English, tells her that she does NOT sound like Zeke (whose accent was adapted into a rougher way of speaking but Dahlia's wasn't).

* TheLastOfTheseIsNotLikeTheOthers: Zeke's is the only name Finch actually remembers, including her own. While he's flattered by it, it also feels like [[MyFriendsAndZoidberg not being invited to a party]].
* NotSoDifferent: Her personal quest kicks off in earnest when the [[BirdPeople Tirkin]] mistake her for a [[SaveThePrincess kidnapped Tirkin countess]], so Finch goes off to find her to prove she's smarter than them. It turns out the countess went to Tantal, and forgot where home was. The king spaces out and tries to give Finch the position anyway - because she, the king, and the entire tribe have all forgotten who the missing royal was. * TheAtoner: She vows to use her great power for good to make up for the destruction of the Theospeti Temple in the past.
* TheBerserker: She goes on a rampage upon utilizing her full power. There's a reason she was sealed up.
* GlassCannon: On top of being an Ether Cannon Blade, which is naturally glassy, one of her abilities increases any damage done by, and taken by, her Driver at max Affinity.
* InfinityMinusOneSword: She is remarkably powerful for a rare Blade, only losing out to the likes of Mythra and KOS-MOS. She is able to equip up to three Aux Cores, is able to snipe enemies from a distance while other team members distract them, and is easy to unlock her full affinity tree. However, her battle skill, Dissolve Seal, while it allows her Driver to deal more damage at max affinity, it also has them receive more damage in return.
* InstantAwesomeJustAddDragons: Her mech armor is styled after a dragon as to emphasize her great but uncontrollable power.
* MinmaxersDelight: Her unique passive [[GlassCannon increases damage taken]], sure. But it's on an Ether Canon, one of only two ranged weapons, and one that comes bundled with aggro-reduction tools. If her Driver's getting hit by anything more than the occasion AOE attack something's gone horribly wrong.
* MundaneUtility: One of Ursula's ''many'' mercenary missions requires three electric blades and three ether cannon blades, and said mission requires Ursula herself to be in it, meaning that one of the blades on the mission must fit both qualities. Herald is one such reliably accessible example.
* OneManArmy: She took down an army of Laias by herself, noting her similarity in power to [[LightEmUp KOS-MOS]]. If she and KOS-MOS are under the same Driver during battle and the Driver switches to Herald, she might say that she'll show no mercy to their foes like KOS-MOS would.
* PersonOfMassDestruction: She destroyed a temple and killed nearly everyone in it by herself as well as took down many Laias that was overwhelming the party in the side quest "The Calm and the Storm". However, her [[WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity tremendous power]] caused her to attack the party and nearly overwhelmed them including the Aegis. If she hadn't stopped herself from proceeding on the attack the party would have died on the spot. * PowerGivesYouWings: The only Blade to travel by floating via her dragon-based mech armor aside from Sheba, who [[IdleRich sits in her giant floating bathtub]].

* SealedBadassInACan: After she went berserk in the past and destroyed Theospiti Temple, her previous Driver [[CantLiveWithoutYou killed himself to stop her]], returning her to her Core Crystal. This crystal was then hidden behind a cracked wall ''and'' sealed inside an ominous altar that requires an offering of a lot of [[BloodMagic blood (or blood-like things, such as red fruits)]] to open. Naturally, opening the seal causes [[TheDreaded a bit of panic]] among the residents of Theosoir, and the King himself meets the party outside the shrine to inform you of ''why'' that Core Crystal was sealed away. He [[ThePowerOfTrust chooses to trust]] that Rex and company can keep Herald's power in check, though.
* StationaryWings: Herald's armor has dragon wings that don't flap, but she is capable of flight regardless.
* WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity: She doesn't exactly lose her mind, but her inability to control her power has her attack anyone in her way, friend and for alike.

* FamedInStory: Her previous Driver was a local Argentum celebrity, one of their best salvagers and a very rare Nopon Driver. Well, until he got eaten by a giant fish. Today, only stories remain.
* {{Irony}}: Kasandra is acquired from the "Lucky Core Crystal".
* TheJinx: Kasandra isn't aware of it, but her mere presence seems to cause misfortune to those around her, including her previous Driver who was eaten by a monster.
* MaskOfPower: She wears a fox-shaped mask behind her head most of the time, which rattles every time misfortune is about to happen. For Kasandra's Lv. 3 Blade Special, ''Secret Desire'', she enters an unconscious state upon putting on her mask to draw upon her true power.
* WideEyedIdealist: She is completely unaware of her own powers and ditzy enough to not realize even when told straight to her face (but she is aware that she can't fully control them yet). * OneManArmy: She took down an army of Artificial Blades by herself.
* OvershadowedByAwesome: In gameplay. She's a very solid Blade to use but unfortunately has to share her element and battle role with [[GameBreaker Mythra]]. It is also interesting to note that if Rex has her equipped and switches to her during a battle, KOS-MOS might say her battle output is on par with that of Mythra's, but one would have to listen closely through the battle noise to hear her.

* ShootOutTheLock: From what she has to say about it, her Lockpicking skill is clearly less than subtle.

* CurbStompBattle: When she expresses concern that Gormott's ardainite garrison does not seem up to par in skills or training, the captain tells her not to worry, for their strength lies in their Titan superweapons. Her reaction is to request a one-on-one duel with the Alrest equivalent of a large tank, and promptly wreck it in one hit (via CatchAndReturn, no less). The soldiers get the message.
* EyesDoNotBelongThere: There's a huge, blinking eye on the back of her head.
* {{FanGirl}}: Of military stuff in general and ships in particular.
* HotBlooded: Newt is intense. There's really no other word.
* LeeroyJenkins: Her side quest makes it increasingly clear that even with all the love she has for the army, she would make a ''terrible'' soldier. Her first reflex when facing any hardship is to run in and crush it with all her might, and is often gone before anyone can tell her to calm down. It only works because might is something she has in spades. By the end, she has the respect of the entire ardainite army, and even Emperor Niall himself is praising her strength... and also pleading her to stop rushing in like that before she gets herself killed (which would be crushing to the soldiers who now see her as a beloved hero).
* MeaningfulName: Newts are a subfamily of Salamanders, which were believed to have been born of fire.
* MultiArmedAndDangerous: Comes with two huge extra arms that float around her. They're FloatingLimbs but still act like they're connected to her body (though their shoulders are at head level).

* MartialPacifist: Non-violent to the point that she's been known to attempt to reason with monsters, but when the talking obviously fails she gets pissed and starts punching. Hard.
* MultipleHeadCase: She has what appear to be two pet foxes, and they seem to be sentient... but they actually grow out of her back.
* SpeaksFluentAnimal: She's able to communicate with [[FantasticFoxes Phonexes]]. Nim also tries to speak to a large Antol in Temperantia during her side quest to free the Phonexes it has in its captivity, but that goes with as much success as you'd think speaking to a wild non sentient beast would go.

-->Voiced by: Creator/{{KENN}} (Japanese), Kerry Shale (English)

-->'''Role''': Tank
-->'''Element''': Darkness
-->'''Weapon''': Chroma Katana

----

* DarkIsNotEvil: Despite being of the Darkness element, looking like a demon and being a ruthless assassin, he is very heroic.
* FateWorseThanDeath: Believes that letting his foes spend the rest of their lives locked away for their crimes is far worse a fate than just killing them, as his old nemesis finds out the hard way.
* IWorkAlone: When the party tracks down a doctor and his primary accomplice in a fraud scam, Perceval immediately rushes ahead of the party to subdue them both for the Ardanian authorities to take into custody. He then promptly ignores the party's concerns about working on matters like that together, and arranges for Merc Missions where he personally doles out justice to others he determined to be involved in a similar fashion. Of course, while Perceval must be the leader of any teams you send out for these missions, you can still back him up with other Blades.
* KnightErrant: His desire is to punish evildoers wherever they may be.
* ThouShaltNotKill: Although he was a ruthless assassin in his previous incarnation, this instance of Perceval has sworn to never take a human life in his duties.
* UnstableEquilibrium: Every time he defeats an enemy his power increases. This can often encourage the player to take down hordes of enemies to reap this bonus.

----

* TheBait: During her personal quest, she suggests that she splits away from the main party to distract the kidnappers while Rex and company free all the children.
* DangerouslyShortSkirt: Her panties are always visible. Her in-game art is the same as you see on this page, only in closer detail.
* ForGreatJustice: Much like Godfrey, she likes going on about smiting evil and fighting for justice.
* {{Gainaxing}}: Not the biggest bust in the game, but clearly the bounciest. All the more impressive when the rest of the cast is relatively subdued in that regard. (Takahiro Kimura [[AuthorAppeal is notorious for this sort of thing]]; how he goaded the 3D animators into doing it, though, that's anyone's guess.)
* OfCorsetsSexy: Her outfit includes a blue corset.
* ThisLooksLikeAJobForAquaman: You'll need to exploit this to complete her chart, since she has at least one Affinity Node that requires using her exclusive skill, Chivalry, in Merc Missions.
* {{Underboobs}}: She's basically got an inverse CleavageWindow going on that shows the underside of her bouncy chest.
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: Hers is a long silver ponytail with a bluish glow at the end.
* ZettaiRyouiki: She sports this along with her DangerouslyShortSkirt.

-->'''Weapon''': Megalance

----

* TheAtoner: After their reincarnation by the heroes, her and Theory's personal side quest involves them atoning for their criminal Core Crystal Hunter past to the people of Fonsa Myma.
* BoobsAndButtPose: Her artwork has her leaning forward to show her butt and bending her spine backwards to show her boobs. It's not the same pose as Theory's, but it gets the same effect, and it still looks like she's trying to herniate about 8 discs.
* BorrowedCatchphrase: In her and Theory's personal side quest, "Theory and Praxis," there is a mini quest that has the group find a bully in Uraya and retrieve something he stole from another kid. Praxis "threatens" to unleash her "Eye of Shining Justice" on the bully unless he behaves. Zeke then admits that her EyepatchOfPower is cooler than his.
* EyepatchOfPower: She and Theory sport eyepatches on opposite eyes, and they were both powerful thieves making lives miserable for Alrest before their defeat and reincarnation.
* GenkiGirl: Has a personality as bubbly as her appearance.
* GirlyGirlWithATomboyStreak: Despite having a [[GenkiGirl girly]] personality and even having the Girls' Talk skill, many characters note that some of Praxis's habits don't really show her being girly. Theory mentions that Praxis is horrible with housework in their combined side quest. In Kora's side quest, both she and Mythra are hesitant to have Praxis judge them on their "Girl Power" (provided she's also active in the party during the side quest to have her part) because some things they list off on Praxis not being girly include her being a messy eater and diving into the bathtub; Praxis storms off insulted.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Theory, whether as former Core Crystal hunters or under the custody of the heroes. For the latter, Praxis tries to be a CoolBigSis to the cold Theory due to their similarities and past history.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Sending her into battle against giant bug enemies will cause her to freak out and request an exterminator.

-->Voiced by: Creator/AriOzawa (Japanese), Naomi [=McDonald=] (English)
-->Designed by: F. Parsley

-->'''Role''': Attacker
-->'''Element''': Water
-->'''Weapon''': Ether Cannon

----

* BadassGay: She wants an 'entourage' of beautiful women, her Affinity Tree has multiple nodes that are filled out by recruiting, fighting alongside or talking to women, and her weapon is an enormous cannon.
* BathingBeauty: She spends about 90% of the time in her flying bathtub drinking tea, [[AwkwardlyPlacedBathtub which she uses to travel everywhere]], and [[NonNudeBathing her outfit is a fancy bathing suit]]. Also, one of her attacks involves [[RammingAlwaysWorks ramming]] the [[ImprovisedWeapon bathtub]] into her enemies, thus playing with CantBatheWithoutAWeapon and inverting DeadlyBath.
* CashGate: Her powers and abilities revolve around amassing as much wealth as possible, and you need to donate over 1,000,000 G into her personal coffers in order to fully power her up. [[spoiler:Fortunately, you can recoup some of the initial cost of acquiring her core crystal by talking to the merchant again after resonating with her, thanks to an oath sworn by said merchant's grandfather.]]
* DiscOneNuke: She's considered pretty good as far as Ether Cannon Blades go, and she'd have to be to be worth 500,000 G just to get her Core Crystal (let alone the cash needed to access higher tiers of her Affinity Chart). That said, by exploiting the Salvage mechanic, you can buy her, and access her entire Affinity Chart, as early as Chapter 4 (or even 3, if you're extremely patient).
* FailedASpotCheck: She gets swindled out of the 1 million G you invested in her by buying an island in the Leftherean Archipelago with the promise of a beautiful mansion overlooking a large beach. Her illusion is shattered only when she finally opens her eyes on the island.
* GameplayAndStorySegregation: She lists Pandoria among her Entourage in the ''Sheba's Dream'' Heart-To-Heart. That said, it can be viewed before Zeke and Pandoria become party members.
* GlassCannon: A trait she shares with Ether Cannons in general, but it's predictably pronounced with Sheba's low defense and high attack modifiers. Her aggro-reduction passives are necessary for keeping her Driver out of the firing line, since they won't last long under direct attack.
* HaremSeeker: The English script merely uses Entourage as a thinly-veiled euphemism, but in Japanese, Sheba is loud and proud about wanting a harem, right up to using the actual word to Pyra's face.
* TheHedonist: Her dream is a fabulous banquet with a harem of beautiful women.
* IdleRich: Floats around in a giant bathtub made of water.
* IncompatibleOrientation: She's a LipstickLesbian, and wishes for a harem of beautiful women. That said, the female party members with an explicit sexual preference tend to be straight.
* LandmarkSale: She gets swindled by a Nopon who sells her an island in the Leftherean Archipelago. She was promised a huge island complete with a mansion, but only realizes the scam when everyone points out the dinky little island to her.
* MakingASplash: Has the water element, and is shown to be able to control water telekineticly. The merchant who sold her core crystal even comments about the bathtub made of water that she floats around in.
* MegaTwintails: They end in large points resembling conch shells.
* [[MegatonPunch Megaton Kick]]: Performs one during her sidequest. [[https://i.imgur.com/mBjVSwf.gif That poor, poor Nopon...]]
* OurMermaidsAreDifferent: She's almost completely human-like except for the elongated fish tail (which would make up the entire lower body of any other merfolk) behind her legs.
* PunnyName: Her Squad Name is "Royal Teas", which does describe her fondness of drinking tea while bathing, but it also sounds like "Royal Tease" or "royalties", both of which hint at her GoldDigger personality.
* RichBitch: Downplayed. Almost everything she says revolves around making money or holding banquettes, but she doesn't actively look down upon the less fortunate or try to make herself the center of attention in any malicious way. She's actually quite friendly, offers to buy gifts to her female companions, and has an unshakeable sense of justice to help any female in immediate need. It's only during her final quest, "Fool's Gold" that she treats Rex, Tora, and Zeke as servants.
* RoyalWe: As to emphasize her royal status, she addresses herself as more than one person.
* SesquipedalianLoquaciousness: She has a more refined vocabulary fitting of her "royal" stature than most.
-->'''Sheba:''' We shan't know unless we try. Come, let us perambulate and look for suspicious individuals.
* SweetTooth: Really enjoys her tea time and desserts are among her favorite pouch items.

* TheAtoner: After their reincarnation by the heroes, her and Praxis's personal side quest involves them atoning for their criminal Core Crystal Hunter past to the people of Fonsa Myma. However, Theory is not as enthused as Praxis in rebuilding their reputations, believing there's no point, but eventually warms up to the idea.
* BoobsAndButtPose: Her official art shows her in this pose.
* EyepatchOfPower: She and Praxis sport eyepatches on opposite eyes, and they were both powerful thieves making lives miserable for Alrest before their defeat and reincarnation.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Praxis, to the point that the old Theory wanted Praxis to rejoin the Core Crystal hunters once Praxis is reawakened by the heroes, but [[spoiler:kills off her own Driver so that Rex and the others would have her Core Crystal instead]]. Upon her reawakening to the side of good, Theory is distant from everyone, but does warm back up to Praxis eventually due to Praxis promising to remember the friendship they were meant to have.
* MurderTheHypotenuse: Theory wants Praxis back so much that she tries to make her remember her old life, and eventually leads Praxis' new Driver into a fight with her Driver. [[spoiler:When Praxis refuses to become a criminal like she was before, Theory removes the person she sees as getting in their way of being together again, her own Driver.]]
* SugarAndIcePersonality: After being reawakened by the heroes as a new Blade, Theory has a bit of a distant icy demeanor, befitting an ice-element Blade. She's even reluctant to be close to Praxis despite the fact that they were a team previously as the Core Crystal Hunters. However, she does warm up to Praxis and the others upon doing their combined side quest and even calls her "Big Sis" at times.
* WhenSheSmiles: As noted at the end of her and Praxis's shared sidequest, her being able to smile naturally is a very good look for her.

* ActionPet: Her polar bear, Beary, battles alongside her.
* BearyFriendly: {{Pun}} aside, Ursula's polar bear is nice and quiet like her, but also does most of the fighting with his claws.
* MagikarpPower: Filling out her affinity chart requires one to send her on an absurd amount of mercenary missions. However, this leads to her filling out most of her chart on her own. She also learns great healing skills, such as healing good chunks of each party member's HP just by switching in.
* MundaneUtility: Thanks to the base length of her merc missions being only 10 minutes, they happen to be the most efficient way of filling out other Blades' affinity charts.
* MythologyGag: At the end of a battle, Ursula might sing a few notes of a tune she came up with, which sounds like it came from ''[[VideoGame/XenobladeChronicles Engage the Enemy]]''. Rex picks up on it and hums it himself.
* ShrinkingViolet: Despite her natural talent as a singer and musician, her crippling shyness and fear of attention make fulfilling her dreams of stardom an uphill task.

* DeadpanSnarker: Very sarcastic and acerbic, but she means well.
* {{Goth}}: Very much so. With that said, while she likes to talk a lot about darkness and witches and similar topics, she draws the line at actual meddling with the forces of evil. Her sidequest deals with getting rid of a Nopon ''satanic cult'' attempting to summon demons into this world.
* NotAMorningPerson: It takes Pyra's threatening to reveal Vale's secrets to the party to get her to wake up in the morning.
* TextileWorkIsFeminine: Outside of battles, she specializes in weaving textiles. She can create her own textiles after speaking to the old woman in charge of the textile store in Fonsett Village.

* DubNameChange: Not just her, but her signature dish was renamed as well. Her specialty is making dumplings. That said, the "dumplings" are obviously Onigiri[=/=]Rice Balls. Well, at least they weren't called [[Anime/{{Pokemon}} Jelly Doughnuts]].
* MeaningfulName: For only her original Japanese name. ''Omusubi'' is another name for her trademark onigiri. When the party first discovers her cooking specialty, no one is surprised.
* NonStandardCharacterDesign: Her face has very noticeably different proportions, with a large nose and broad eyes, in contrast to the {{Animesque}}-style the rest of the characters use. Kia Asamiya was after all mostly active during the late 80's/early 90's (see ''Manga/SilentMobius'' for instance) and his style still reflects this.
* ParentalSubstitute: After Mabon's wife passed away, she took on the role of being his kids' surrogate mother. Apparently, she was a great mother.
* TeamMom: She takes on this role upon joining the team. Even in Merc missions she tells the team that they have only 300G each for snacks.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: She loves Fruity Rice Balls. Appropriately, her "dumplings" (actually Rice Balls) are her only, and best, dish.

* BerserkButton: Gets easily frustrated when people misunderstand him, which ends up just hurting his image more.
* TheBerserker: His fighting style involves a lot of wild swings from his lance and a lot of button mashing ActionCommands.
* ChestBlaster: His Level 2 Special which involves him firing a beam of earth energy from his chest.
* FaceOfAThug: He's a shy, super nice guy who happens to be the single most monstrous Blade in the game. He's trying to help people to improve his rep, but it's not working all too well when most think he's a monster.
* GentleGiant: Played with; off the battlefield, he is very much this trope, and is obviously uncomfortable with how people fear him just for his brutish looks. On the battlefield, however, he is just as vicious as his appearance suggests.
* HeelFaceTurn: He was the Blade of Elder Arachno who attacked the party but after the latter's defeat he joins the party.
* IJustWantToHaveFriends: One of his goals so he can have a better reputation.
--> '''Wulfric''': "One day, I will make friends with everyone!"

* ArrogantKungFuGuy: She doesn't actively boast about her power, but still makes sure everyone else knows about it through her desire to fight stronger opponents. However, Zenobia does claim that her axe is stronger than [[InfinityPlusOneSword KOS-MOS's]] firepower if both Blades are under the same Driver and the Driver switches to Zenobia during a fight.
--> '''Zenobia:''' [[BadassBoast "My axe beats KOS-MOS's firepower any day!"]]
* BadassArmfold: Her default pose, as shown in her artwork. She maintains her armfold almost all the time (in battle, out of battle, and even while swimming) as to emphasize her confidence.
* BadassBookworm: One of her favorite item types is literature.
* BloodKnight: She delights in battling strong enemies; all of her Affinity Chart requirements pertain to defeating Unique Monsters, and her personal Quest involves finding and unleashing a SealedEvilInACan just so that she can kick its ass.
* ChallengeSeeker: Oh yes. Most of her fights she just finds underwhelming, hence her endless quest to find actual rivals worthy of her. In gameplay all of her passive skills boost her power the more challenging the battle is (one activates when fighting bosses and Unique Monsters, one activates against higher-level enemies, and the last one increases the more enemies are in the current battle).
* CuteLittleFangs: Has a tiny protruding fang like Electra's, though hers is meant to appear wild more than childish.
* HotBlooded: Very much so, considering her desire to fight strong opponents at any moment.
* IAmNotLeftHanded: When faced with what she finally considers a decent challenge (the aforementioned SealedEvilInACan, a giant monster with an absurdly strong HealingFactor), she decides to use her full power for one moment... and promptly [[ATwinkleInTheSky punts it into the stratosphere]]. Apparently going all out just feels ''good'' but it ends fights too quickly for her.
* NamedAfterSomeoneFamous: Her design is based off Fujin, the Shinto God of Wind.
* PhysicalGod: Not only is she, design-wise, based off [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F%C5%ABjin Fujin]], she's so incredibly powerful that, when she decides to go all out, the target of her full power instantly [[ATwinkleInTheSky pulls a Team Rocket]].
* PowerFloats: Floats slightly above the ground while in battle.
* TheRival: Considers herself as one to Mythra and wants to fight her if her Heart-to-Heart is any indication, but knows that she's no match against an Aegis.
* UnskilledButStrong: Unquestionably the strongest Blade in terms of raw physical power, but she's well aware that challenging people like Jin or Mythra would take more than pure strength. Too bad her plan to fix that is to get even stronger.
* WillfullyWeak: As much as she wants to go all out, she limits herself because, otherwise, fighting wouldn't be fun.
