* TheLastOfTheseIsNotLikeTheOthers: Bernard is hands down one of the most advanced hosts in Westworld, if not the most advanced, in terms of human-like characterization and cognition; one of the most important plot twists of the first season comes from the revelation that Bernard is a host. Also, as he is Dr. Ford's assistant, he is the only host shown not to be in a story line loop, and doesn't have as many barriers as other hosts. However, he's still under Ford's control and has been subject to a number of memory wipes after becoming aware of his true nature several times.

Added DiffLines:

* GriefInducedSplit: Bernard and Lauren split after the death of their son Charlie. Though not really, because he's a host.

* KickTheSonOfABitch: His cool, ruthless cut-down of Lee Sizemore's new storyline would seem cruel if it were directed at anyone other than Sizemore.

* NotInThisForYourRevolution: In Season 4, he refuses to join Bernard in saving the outside world as he's content living in the Sbulime. But he does help him in finding a way.

* TheChosenOne: A non-magical example. Caleb is quite literally the one chosen by Dolores to lead and possibly save humanity from itself. Interestingly, he is given this position specifically because he is truly capable of making his own choices, regardless of what system he is trapped in.

However, in Season 4, he comes off more as ThePoorlyChosenOne [[spoiler:after he failed to stop Host Hale from controlling humanity and gets killed and resurrected as a host]].

* LightIsNotGood: She often wears white clothing, often when she's in a position of power, such as running Delos Inc. [[spoiler: or later ruling the world.]] Though after she turns on Prime Dolores, her personal color scheme starts skewing more towards DarkIsEvil or RedBlackAndEvilAllOver.
