* AscendedExtra: He was the draenei who appeared in the cinematic trailer for ''The Burning Crusade,'' then he appeared in the comics and as a minor NPC in Northrend, and now he's a major character in ''Warlords of Draenor.''
* TheAtoner: He regrets taking vengeance against the orcs over protecting the refuges and is willing to lay his life down to prevent the atrocities that he witnessed.
* BadAss: Maraad is without a doubt one of the greatest Draenei paladins alive.

In The untamed valley short story he stayed up for six days straight to guard a Dark shaman and lastly he was hellbent on killing the orc that he saw kill one of his fellow Dreanei doing the siege of Shattrath City. In short. Maraad lets nothing stand in his way.

A wandering warrior of faith, Maraad is a pillar of draenei society and one of their most notable [[ThePaladin Vindicators]]. His sister was captured and raped by orcs as part of Gul'dan's experiments, giving birth to his niece [[ChildByRape Garona]] before dying. Prior to ''Wrath of the Lich King'' he helped out his niece and her son Med'an against Cho'gall and the Twilight's hammer. He subsequently served in the war in Northrend and returned to instruct others in the ways of the Light. He is set to play a major role in ''Warlords of Draenor'' as he travels back in time to the alternate universe Draenor.
