* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: "Beck Falls For Tori" establishes that she has crippling acrophobia. It's to the point where she can't make herself fall from a two-story floor to a giant air mattress for a stunt.

* NotSoDifferent: She and Tori behave (and dress) as differently as night and day, but whether she wants to admit it or not, they have plenty of things in common, some trivial and some significant. To name a few things, they're both incredible performers and directors, they both act like motherly figures to [[TheBabyOfTheBunch Cat]] more than once, they both wear the same necklace (Tori is wearing it until after "Tori and Jade's Play Date", at which point Jade starts wearing it), they both love bunnies, neither of them like Jade's father, they've expressed similar taste in guys, and (much more with Jade than Tori) they're both prone to [[HairTriggerTemper quick tempers]], [[DeadpanSnarker dry remarks or looks]], and acts of [[GreenEyedMonster jealousy]] and [[ItsAllAboutMe selfishness]]. Also, while Tori certainly has a better relationship with her parents than Jade does with hers, her parents have slowly started to become more negligent and it's implied that her mother is cheating on her father.

** Robbie too. If there's one trait they both undeniably share (aside from parental issues), it's a fear of winding up alone.

* ObnoxiousInLaws: Let’s just say that after an incident at Thanksgiving, she’ll never be invited to any of Beck's family gatherings ever again.

* RuleOfSymbolism: As required of all students at Hollywood Arts, all seven of them have customized lockers. Tori's is a night sky with the light-up words "Make it Shine" to refer to the song that changed her life, Robbie's is a mosaic of baby bottle nipples to remind him of happier times, Andre's is a keyboard he has to play to open because he loves music, Beck's is transparent because he has no secrets, and Jade's has scissors plastered about because of her obsession with scissors.

* DumbIsGood: While Cat is the least intelligent of the main characters, she's also one of the nicest people in the show.

* GoodBadGirl: Cat's boyfriends tend not to last very long (81 hours is her record), and it's subtly implied that they get further than what could be shown on Nickelodeon. She's also described as "the sweetest thing ever" and, though her actions may have negative consequences, she always has good intentions.

* GoodBadGirl: Trina had no problem stealing Tori's date in ''Freak the Freak Out'' and in ''The Worst Couple'', she was ready to take Beck the very minute he said he didn't want to be Jade's boyfriend if they were just going to keep fighting. She even tackled him in an attempt to prevent him from going to the door and after Jade leaves and Beck sits down, the final shot in the house is of Trina resting her head on Beck's shoulder.

* BigScrewedUpFamily: From Tori and Trina's ParentalNeglect to Jade's WellDoneDaughterGirl, each member is implied to have a number of family issues.

* KirkSummation: When talking to Andre in "Jade Gets Crushed".

* MysteriousPast: Her history never really come into play aside from one-off jokes. As a result, we never learn a thing about what her life was like before Hollywood Arts or what her lifelong dreams used to be.

* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Most of the time (i.e. "Beck's Big Break", "Rex Dies", “Prome Wrecker”, and "Wok Star" to name a few), but she fixes it. Subverted in ''Tori Tortures Teacher'' where Sikowitz' depression is not because Tori took him to a play that made his life look worthless, but because [[spoiler: he misses his girlfriend's pet cat.]]

* StupidSexyFlanders: Tori just can’t deny that Jade is outright gorgeous and has a habit of checking her out...a lot.

* WithFriendsLikeThese: Everybody will usually give him this treatment, how harshly depends on the episode. They have very little patience with him for no good reason, (he's an awkward, weird and kinda immature klutz but still a good friend and person, and that time he use his friends embarassment to his own advantages that probably went viral on other sites) and don't seem to mind much when he's in pain, insulted, or upset.

* FreudianExcuse: It was established in “Wok Star” that her home life could stand to be a lot more savory. Her father has [[WellDoneDaughterGirl no respect]] for her career choice, her chosen associates, or her [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking sense of style]]. Even when he can't deny that her play was excellent, he keeps their interaction brief and formal and [[TheStoic doesn't even crack a smile]]; according to Jade, [[PerpetualFrowner that's the happiest she's ever seen him]]. The Slap reveals even more about her home life and it's far worse than the actual show displayed or even implied. It turns out her father [[ParentalNeglect blatantly ignores her]] in favor of her stepmom (meaning her parents are divorced), whom she also doesn't like, and her “yappy little dog”. In addition, he never kept one promise to her and the one time he cooked her breakfast, [[LethalChef she spent the whole morning throwing up]]. As a bonus, it's heavily implied that he once responded to a childish Thanksgiving prank of locking her "annoying" cousin in the basement by ''[[DisproportionateRetribution calling the cops on her]]!'' On the other side, she mentions that she never listens to her mother and even says that the only thing her mother ever did right for her was ''give her a name'' (though she does seem to drive her mother's car, which would imply that she does at least regularly take her to school). To wrap it all up, they seem to have shared custody of her. All of these heavily suggest that beneath her cold and serrated demeanor, Jade is in fact a [[BrokenBird lost and lonely little girl]] who is constantly afraid of letting people get too close to her only to be let down again; she uses aggression as a defensive mechanism against those she perceives as a potential threat (i.e., literally everyone, including her closest friends and even her boyfriend), a means of [[NeverBeHurtAgain getting them before they can get her]].

* {{Tsundere}}: To everybody really but especially Type A to Tori. She’s rude and aggressive and seems uncaring. However, when she wants to be, she can be a loyal friend and is capable of showing affection to the people she cares about.

* InSeriesNickname: “Little Red” by Andre.

* NoodleIncident: In "Cell Block", she mentions that she'd do ''anything'' to use a phone at the moment. Tori looks at her as if to imply something extremely dark and Cat simply confirms that it does include that. [[NothingIsScarier We never know what she's referring to]], but Tori knows what she means and Cat [[IKnowYouKnowIKnow knows she knows what she means]]. Even Jade averts her eyes like "Well alrighty then."

** “We were not watching you kiss that girl.”

* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: In "Car, Rain, & Fire", she starts a rumor that she's dating Beck in order to get boys to compete for her attention (without getting Beck's approval in advance). What she didn't see coming was him, Andre, and Robbie, three guys she knows and cares about, to start killing each other over her.

* StepfordSmiler: Her overall demeanor paints her as blissfully egotistical, but taking a look at her home life and her desperation for validation, we see that she might not be nearly as oblivious to her situation or as confident in herself as she lets on.

* ActuallyPrettyFunny: He unambiguously cares for his students, but he couldn't help but laugh as he watched Cat knock her classmates around in her desparation to use her phone in "Cell Block".

The producer of Platnium Records, when Tori wins an audition to work for him. He wants Tori to change her image and personality, and when she decides she doesn't want to he fires her and passes the deal onto Jade. [[spoiler: Later Jade gives the chance back to Tori, and Mason isn't happy about it but accepts it nontheless.]] He later returns to buy Rex from Robbie.

* BigBad: Of ''Tori Goes Platnium''.

* DemotedToExtra: Later episodes seem to treat Trina more like a side character than a main character.

* AmbiguouslyBi: Has a few one-episode boyfriends and the occasional ShipTease with Beck, but also has a ton of FoeYay with Jade and another moment Ke$ha admiring her cheekbones, as well as frequently calling other women "hot!". She also has a big sexy magazine cutout of Katy Perry plastered on the inside of her locker, along with the text "I Kissed a Girl"...

** This applies to Trina as well. They both have parental issues, they both have issues with envy and pride (hiding an InferioritySuperiorityComplex), and they both hate coming second to Tori, which happens a ton of times. The only 2 things separating them are Jade's HairTriggerTemper and Trina's SpoiledBrat.

* LargeHam: Clearly a firm believer that bigger is better, she makes her sister seem subdued by comparison. Just look at her debut scene.

* DeadpanSnarker: He does have his moments of being very snarky especially when he's around Jade.

* DeadpanSnarker: He has his moments.

She also has a nautical star tattoo, which is commonly associated with gay people. And let's not even mention ''The Scissoring''...
