Lavian has blonde hair, is TheStoic and part of the Northern Jaegers, which is more morally grey as while they do fight for the sake of their homeland, involves shady mercenary work and have played a role as antagonists is seen as a TeenGenius who advanced quickly through training to the point of becoming an instructor for other recruits at the ripe young age of 15 and fights with knives and firearms, and her grandfather is known as a traitor to North Ambria.

* IaijutsuPractitioner: Even moreso than her fellow pupils where she pulls off moves very similar to [[VideoGame/DevilMayCry3DantesAwakening Vergil's Judgement Cut]] just by moving her hand on her blade and slashing her targets at a distance.

* ShadowPin: His Kage Shibari Craft starts with him throw kunai at the targets' shadows. [[spoiler:If the player chooses to not kill Alexandre on the Ikaruga route, the following cutscene will show Kurogane using this technique to immobilize the Armata executive so that Shizuna can neck-chop him unconscious.]]

The deputy head of the Kurgha Warrior Clan, and the father of Ferida and Kasim.

* EveryoneHasStandards: He was highly reluctant to have Fie [[ChildSoldier becoming part of the corps]] and his dying wish was for Zephyr to disband to GiveHerANormalLife. And he didn't like the whole "blow up the Courageous" scene; he derogatively refers to it as "terrorist bombing."

* WorthyOpponent: Outright calls Rean and Class VII one near the end of ''Cold Steel IV'', claiming he hasn't had such a good fight since Baldur.
