Dawson casting is when an adult plays a teenager. The character is playing a woman in her late 20s early 30s. While the team treat her as the unstable and angry younger sister she does not act like a teen so not an adult playing a teen. Cliff does treat her like a teen but as noted he may be projected his daughter on her.

* DawsonCasting: Possibly an in-universe as well as out-of-universe example, as Dianne Guerrero is in her early thirties but Jane is treated like a teenager by the Doom Patrol (specifically Cliff). However, she's fully capable of assuming a adult doctor persona as well as position of authority when the need arises without changing anything about her. It's very possible Cliff is projecting on her and she's meant to be a young-ish looking adult woman in-universe.

Kay's flashbacks in season one indicates she was Latina. Confirmed in season two where during after her exorcism she threatened her Mexican mother afterwards. Her ethnicity did not change due to the mutation, it did not change at all. Based on her father she is half Caucasian and Latino.

* EthnicityObscuringMutation: Kay Challis was born white, but when her powers manifested, she turned into Crazy Jane, a Latina. It's notable that many of her older alters, like Hammerhead, The Secretary, Pretty Polly, and Penny Farthing, appear as white women in the Underground, while the younger ones like Lucy Fugue and Silvertongue are not.

* AdaptationalSuperpowerChange: In the comics her powers are ComicBook/MisterFantastic-style ability to stretch her body, plus grow or shrink. Here her "default" state is a semi-solid blob of flesh which can flow and slip through small openings, and it takes a great deal of mental control for her to hold herself in human form. She has on few occasions displayed the ability to stretch her limbs and the volume her body occupies can change drastically, implying that she could eventually manage the same things as her comics counterpart.
* AdaptationPersonalityChange: A NiceGirl and the group's TeamMom in the comics, but more of a narcissistic former Hollywood diva here, who nonetheless has [[SpoiledSweet a sweet side]] to her as well.
* BigEater: When she joins the others for dinner and introduces herself to Rachel, she piles her plate with a small mountain of food. Justified, since she says that she requires a lot of caloric intake to help maintain her form.
* BlessedWithSuck: Compared to her comic counterpart, Rita's powers are pretty terrible. Unlike the comic where she is essentially ComicBook/MisterFantastic, in the show, she is essentially a giant blob of flesh in her neutral form. The only real benefit to this power is that she is able to move through very small openings, as she is super malleable. On the downside, she requires ''constant'' mental focus to maintain her physical form, any distractions or distress tends to cause her to grotesquely lose her form. It's clear that she hates her "power".

* BadassDriver: He was a former racecar driver and in one of his races, avoided an oncoming vehicle which won him the race.
* TheBigGuy: The biggest heavy hitter on the team.
* BrainInAJar: Albeit, a nigh-indestructible one.
* {{Cyborg}}: A human brain inside a mechanical body.
* ForgotHeWasARobot: He blinks for unknown reasons.
* GentleGiant: He's a large robot and is very chummy.
* NoisyRobots: His micro-movements create sounds.
* SenseLossSadness: Can no longer feel, taste, or smell anything anymore and is very envious of Raven being able to enjoy her dinner.
* SeriesMascot: The most recognizable full-fledged member (not counting Beast Boy, who's more associated with the Titans) and the only one to be in every iteration of the team.

* ExperiencedHero: Despite being [[BabyOfTheBunch the youngest]] of the Doom Patrol, Victor has the most experience of the group with actual heroics, having several years under his belt in comparison to the rest who actively avoided in engaging in the world with their powers. This gets invoked in his debut episode where [[spoiler: Nobody tortures Rita and Larry with their secret desires, he knows that Vic is too experienced to give into that type of sentimentality and insteads try to torture him with the day his mother died.]]

Cyborg has yet to appear on Titans or receive an official confirmation to be showing up. So far anyway.

* PersonOfMassDestruction: His body constantly oozes powerful radiation, and he gives a rather stern warning to Starfire not to fight him, and she ultimately backs down. In the finale to ''Doom Patrol's'' first season, we see why: He is a living, breathing atom bomb. Creating disequilibrium between himself and the Negative Spirit creates a hydrogen explosion from his body, powerful enough to completely wipe out [[spoiler:Danny]]. The only way the rest of the Patrol survive is by [[ItMakesSenseInContext taking refuge inside the carcass of a cockroach.]]

* AdaptationalBackstoryChange: Cyborg's accident is much more mundane than usual. Instead of being injured by an extradimensional being or invasion, he is in a simple lab accident when he gets angry and throws a volatile chemical, which explodes.
