* GreaterScopeVillain: Her long-dead original self from 2188 is the chief cause of the Kaiju invasion. When the current Ryoko discovers this, she freaks out.

* GenerationXerox: The Natsuno of 2188 was an astronaut, and it's clear that love for space hasn't waned in her clone-descendants.

* TheBabyOfTheBunch: Of the survivors from 2188; while everyone else were grown adults, Megumi was only eight years old.

* BoyfriendBlockingDad: {{Gender Inverted|Trope}}, {{invoked|trope}}, ''and'' {{subverted|trope}}. Her 2188 self tells Miura that she never approved of him dating her daughter, Natsuno, but that was just a joke to rile Natsuno up and get her to open a communication channel with her.

* TheLadette: She's a major tomboy, standing out from the other leading ladies for her gruff and assertive attitude. Her Sentinel has more in common with the all-male, First Gen bruisers than the other female pilots.

* CorruptCorporateExecutive: His 2188 self sent Sekigahara to kill Professor Morimura to prevent her activities from exposing his company's secret slush fund.

* ALighterShadeOfBlack: His 2188 self was this to Kengo Ogata. He might've been a CorruptCorporateExecutive who put out a hit on one of his former employees to prevent the exposure of his company's slush fund, but at least he didn't doom humanity by intentionally unleashing a nanomachine plague in a bid for immortality.

* TheSpock: He frequently proves to be one of the most intelligent characters in the game, able to parse details about the densely layered setting from extensive observation and plan out effective strategies for the other pilots. He is, however, one of the most impersonal characters who has a hard time displaying empathy, making his relationship with the other pilots unfavorably tense.

* ViolentlyProtectiveGirlfriend: At first she's terrified at the idea of shooting Renya with the gun Fluffy gave her, abhorring the idea of shooting someone. But that attitude changes the moment Renya suggests that Juro will have to repilot his Sentinel, exposing him to danger once more. And she doesn't bat an eye firing at him.

Not to mention a BadassBiker.In an ironic twist, his predecessor from 2188 was the assassin coming after that era's Chihiro Morimura, not protecting her like Ei does with Iori.

* RedeemingReplacement: The original Nenji Ogata was a RichBastard responsible for cutting funds to Project Ark, leading to Professor Morimura inadvertently starting the Nanomachine Plague through trading on the Black Market. Nenji might be a punk, but he's still a good person at heart.

* MoralityPet: Ei develops a fondness for her throughout the game, being able to lighten some of his stoicism when she's around for him.

* OddFriendship: Appears to have one with Ogata, which extends from middle school. It's implied that he himself was a delinquent in the past.
