Founded by Leona and Zara, the squadron based mainly in the town of Rahama doing cargo protection the Ouni Company is hired for against sky pirates. Though generally unconcerned by the state of Ijitsu's politic, they clash with various factions because of their association with Rahama and the radical politician Julia. They all fly Nakajima Ki-43-I Hayabusa with marked with their personal tail art, camo, and color.

* AcePilot: Each girls are exceptional pilots in their own right. They fly Hayabusa, which in series are often out-classed by their opponents in term of specs, but always win or never sustaining crippling loses.
* BadassCrew: As expected of a squadron of AcePilot that tend to meet the engagements is 2-3 man cells, they take down enemies with teamwork between vanguards and her wingwoman.
* ChronicHeroSyndrome: Discussed; the Kotobuki, specially the younger ones, would rather do what they can with the local's problems, no string attached. But Leona would not do anything unless the locals sign business contracts with Madame Lulu because their plane's maintenance does not come cheap. Fortunately, Madame Lulu is not that heartless.
* ColorCodedForYourConvenience: Their Hayabusa can be differentiated by looking at the color of their planes' noses, body camo arts, and their wingtips, which are the same color as their clothes.

* ItsPersonal: While they originally enter the war against [[spoiler:the Brotherhood of Freedom Union]] out of their contracted obligation, any reservation they have gets thrown out of the window when they find out that [[spoiler:Isao, the head of the Union]] personally slighted more than half of them in his pursuit of power.
* MrViceGuy: While they're still obviously good, they also have very noticeable personality flaws. TheHero is a HairTriggerTemper dumbass, her best friend is a miserly BloodKnight, the CoolBigSis is a shameless drunkard, etc.
* TrueCompanions: While at the beginning of the series the relationships between pilots aren't very good, like the younger girls not knowing that Leona and Zara met in an airfield named Sapoh or the unsynchronized duo of Kylie and Chika, they slowly learn to appreciate and support each other.
* WeakButSkilled: The Hayabusa aren't the most well-armed planes and their armor aren't that good - however, they comes with great climb rate and maneuverability. Best seen in their fight against [[spoiler:Ikesuka's black Hayate]]; their 12.7 mm guns could not down the enemies easily and they often incapable of chasing the enemies into their gunsight, but when they're in small spaces like [[spoiler:Ikesuka's tightly packed skyscrapers]], they fly circles on their pursuers through obstacles, using the buildings as covers.
* WithAFriendAndAStranger: When the squadron started out, either Emma or Kate followed Leona and Zara, causing the fledgling team to turn into this.

A pilot with great situational awareness, but often get blinded by her utter hatred for crooks, she's aggressive while also maintaining a layer of elegance that she's known as "the Fierce". Flying as a mercenary to support her parents, who oblivious of their daughter's career choice, she's a greedy miser when it comes to money. Her personal is a scythe hovering behind a white rose.
