* {{Expy}}: He has a number of similarities to [[Series/FamilyMatters Steve Urkel]] in appearance and personality, being a black ExtravertedNerd with big glasses, dorky fashion sense, and a hopeless, unrequited crush on another main character.
* ExtravertedNerd: While he's a dork through and through, he likes to think of himself as cool and seems to genuinely think Mandy is attracted to him on some level.

* RatedMForManly: An over-the-top parody of this. Everything he does exudes hyper-masculinity, even the most mundane, nonsensical, or pathetic tasks.

* DeathIsCheap: Dies a few times, though he comes back the next time he shows up.

A {{Goth}} woman who was briefly Grim’s girlfriend.

* TheCameo: She has one in “The Incredible Shrinking Mandy” as one of Billy’s attempts to cheer Grim up. But Grim seems to have gotten completely over her at this point since he doesn’t even react.

* EarlyBirdCameo: She appears amongst the other side characters in the show’s opening theme.

* {{Goth}}: Quite obviously. It’s what attracts Grim to her in the first place.

* MeaningfulName: She’s named after a disease.
* SatelliteLoveInterest: She doesn’t really have much character depth outside of being a Goth and Grim’s girlfriend.

* EveryoneHasStandards: He'll gladly give fake notes to kids so they can get out of gym, but he won't give one to Billy because that'd make him a bad parent.

* ColdHam: Delivers all of his lines in a stoic BadassBaritone, but is prone to giving ridiculous (and long-winded) monologues.
* TheComicallySerious: His lines are almost always ridiculous, but delivered in a completely serious BadassBaritone.

* WouldHurtAChild: Attempted to kill Billy in ''Herbicidal Maniac''.

* LargeHam: Oh yes. His very first scene is screaming cursed. Though it’s no surprise given that he’s voiced by [[Series/TheATeam Howling Mad Murdock]] himself, Creator/DwightSchultz.

* NosyNeighbor: Does this in Herbicidal Maniac. It’s clear that he’s done this a few times.

* NarratorAllAlong: In Skarred for Life, it’s implied Skarr himself is narrating his first day in the neighborhood. As it turns out, it’s actually him and Skarr just returned home at the end of the episode.

* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: He’s loud and can change his tone like nothing happened.

* LargeHam: Oh yes. His very first scene is screaming cursed.

* NavelDeepNeckline: A rare male example. Phillip's shirt is unbuttoned down to his navel.

* {{Expy}}: While he is obviously one to [[ComicBook/{{Preacher}} Herr Starr]] (read his Evil Con Carne page), he's one of [[ComicStrip/DennisTheMenace Mr. Wilson]], with how both deal with an obnoxious young boy who may or may not be pressing their buttons on purpose.

* HartmanHips: She has a very prominent hourglass figure.

* TookALevelInJerkass: In her first few appearances, she was a paranoid, but very well-meaning woman who tried to defend Billy. In later episodes, she’s become a lot more aggressive, lashing out at her husband and son a lot.

* HonoraryUncle: Mandy seems to see him as one. In return, he’s rather happy to see her when she’s around.

** His own father comes across as this in the flashback in "Billy Idiot", disapproving of Harold’s love of ballet, even going so far as to yelling “Dancing is for girls!” during Harold’s dance recital just when he was about to attempt the Maboohay Shuffle, throwing him off balance and publicly humiliating him.

* DisappearedDad: His mom only shows up once, but we never see his dad.
