''Spoiler Warning'': All spoilers from the first two three volumes will be unmarked.

* TheBerserker: While rarely used, her [[UnstoppableRage Crimson Haze]] ability boosts her physical abilities while also casting a fear effect on those around her. While in that state she will slaughter her enemies, ripping through them one after another.
* BerserkButton: Due to her nature as a dungeon core, she will become enraged at any harm to Emilia. Even seeing her cry will set her on the warpath.

* ElCidPloy: She ends up in the avatar meant for Lelsy, which seems to have been modeled after her, downplayed, as few have seen this body.

* NotHyperbole: She promised to kill anyone who breached her black zones without an invitation, even if she had to bring the whole mesa down on them. She does just that a volume later.

* RunningGag: The To-Do List keeps updating, growing faster than she can check things off [[spoiler: even with the control programs deleting things it doesn't want her looking into.]]

to:

* RunningGag: The To-Do List keeps updating, growing faster than she can check things off [[spoiler: even with the control programs deleting things it doesn't want her looking into.]]

* TrapIsTheOnlyOption: Downplayed as she likely had other options but when [[spoiler: Sunrise]] leaves an ObviousTrap out for her, she decides to attack it anyway as a diversion. [[spoiler: She drops off her marines to attack the other side of the encirclement while her ships draw their attention. Expecting the crates to be empty, she simply shoots them and the explosives go off harmlessly.]]

* LadyOfWar: She is the elegant daughter of nobles but won't hesitate to unleash soul burning spells to protect Alexandra. Downplayed as she is meant to be the last line of defense and opponents rarely get that far.

* ObstructiveBureaucracy: Her job is to assist Alexandra in developing her dungeon but is limited by the God of Fire on what magic she can give her. She regrets not being able to teach her blood magic, even trying to get it unlocked when she needed a regeneration spell but without luck. She also lacks books on terra magic but only because she didn't think she would need to teach it to a dungeon.

* PassThePopcorn: While watching adventurers delve into the dungeon she will frequently sit next to Alexandra and much on snacks.

* SecondLove: She was in love with her old friend Princess [[spoiler: Cassissa]] but pursuing those feelings is what ultimately led to her having to leave the country. Years later she falls in love with Pyn.

* FantasticRacism: She seems to have certain hangups about orcs stemming from stories she was told about them growing up as a kid. She had to get used to working with Captain Calder.
* LipstickLesbian: She has longer hair than Allya and frequently goes shopping, especially for clothes.

* NoNameGiven: It is confirmed that her original name isn't Alexandra but neither personality will speak it.

child. Viewing them as her parents resulted in her having to be added to the line of succession for the Western Marches.

* ExtremelyProtectiveChild: She is protective of her parents and warry of anyone getting close to Alexandra's core. She shields Emilia with her own body when attacked.

* {{Butlerspace}}: He can really move when nobody is looking.

* TheGunslinger: When the Republic's forces breach the dungeon he steals a gun from them to fight back and has taken to using it whenever in a fight. It officially becomes part of his job description when he is turned into a boss.
* MookCommander: Alexandra gave him the ability to command the other golems just in case. He has proven to be a competent CO.
* PraetorianGuard: He was originally one of CQ's Palatial Guard that Alexandra randomly promoted to Praetorian Guard to use as her personal servant. He developed from there, becoming a skilled protector and leader of the other golems.

to:

The A.I. tasked with managing the Sagittarius Imperial installation deep below the Angel Fall ruins. She awakens due to the increase in ambient mana and gains self awareness.self-awareness. She fuses with a kernel of Arcadia and helps run the dungeon.

* SealedEvilInACan: How evil she was is debatable but she was a Sagittarius A.I. set to attack anything not part of the long dead empire. She had been sleeping deep underground until Gift unwittingly woke her up.

* AmbushingEnemy: Waterproof spider golems lurk in the moat outside the second-floor castle, waiting to jump out at those who come too close. Alexandra orders them to move about, disturbing the water, just to screw with the adventurers.

* FacelessGoons: Most of the golems don't have faces. The standard golems just have featureless face plates, which annoys Alexandra while she possesses a random one to talk to someone when CQ isn't handy. She tried to give them mouths but that was way too creepy.
* TheGoomba: The standard golems are the original golems occupying the Angel Fall ruins with no weapons or modifications. They are slow and predictable. At best, they cause people to lower their guard for the martial golems, which look the same. Alexandra was surprised when they got their first kill ever, facing clay-ranked adventurers who hadn't even bothered with basic training.
* HeavilyArmoredMook: The SCU are standard golems fitted with heavy armor.
* InstakillMook: The Bouncing Betties explode and will typically kill most adventurers. Alexandra uses them to punish those who break the rules.

* MechaMooks: Every mook Alexandra makes is some sort of machine.
* MiniMook: The spider golems are a lot smaller than the spider mechs. They rely more on ambush tactics or ZergRush.

* PraetorianGuard:
** CQ was given her own Palatial Guard and Royal Guardians, which support her during combat and take damage in her place.
** Alexandra reserved the name Praetorian Guard for her own elite personal guard. They are only seen by those they are killing or protecting.

* ShieldBearingMook: Some golems are equipped with shields and can form a shield wall.

* StealthyMook: The stealth golems are robot spiders that can turn invisible to spy on people. While they can be deadly, she doesn't use them in the dungeon, not wishing anyone to know she has that capability.
* ZergRush: Alexandra will sometimes just send a bunch of golems at an enemy to weaken them as the losses don't mean as much to her. A notable example is when she sends a group to attack the enemy camp at night just to wake them up.

* LeeroyJenkins: In the boss fight, Arkor uses a bracelet of leap to close the distance and strike CQ as his opening move. Most of the damage is deflected by her special ability and the force knocks him on his back.

* OutOfCharacterMoment: Arkor, the most greedy man Allya has ever met, passes on a chance to make money. This clues Allya in that he is plotting something and she takes precautions.

* PragmaticVillainy: Arkor is as greedy as they come but he will never betray his comrades. He understands paying them and not stabbing them in the back will help him get better payouts on later jobs.

I read some of the books again and realized I made some mistakes before. Also, I spoke with the author and decided to stop calling Alexandra "Crystal" to avoid confusion.

She names her new dungeon Dungeon Factory and populates it with mechanical golems. She doesn't have much artistic flare, prompting Emilia to get on her case about that. While she poses as as a normal, if eccentric, dungeon, she secretly houses production and R&D facilities underground.

* NeutralNoLonger: Originally she behaved by general dungeon policy and stayed out of surface affairs, more or less leaving the city to fend for itself. However, after attacks on the city kept turning into attacks on herself, she decided to take a more proactive approach.

* ThereIsNoKillLikeOverkill: She glassed a planet before getting sucked into FTL and becoming a dungeon. Then there are the lengths she will go to protect herself and Emilia.
** She rigged her whole dungeon to explode should it come to it, bringing the whole mesa down. Later, she rigged individual floors to explode so she doesn't have to spend weeks rebuilding it.

Characters appearing in The Fallen World

''Spoiler Warning'': All spoilers from the first volume will be unmarked.

! Main Characters
[[folder: Alexandra Rousseau/Crystal]]
!! Lieutenant-Commander Alexandra Océane Rousseau/Crystal
An EFSN Lieutenant-Commander with a specialty in engineering. Following an FTL incident, she found herself on Alcheryos and was soon sacrificed to create a new dungeon core. She had survived, becoming the dungeon core itself, and using the name Crystal while interacting with anyone who doesn't know her secret.
----
* BatmanGambit: Her plan to get rid of [[spoiler: Starvak]] is forcing him into FriendOrIdolDecision and counting on him to choose the latter. [[spoiler: It works and the political fallout requires him to resign his post.]]
* DarkAndtroubledPast: Her brother and [[FamilyOfChoice sister in law]] died in the Alpha Centauri Campaign, causing her [[eceasedParentsAreTheBest parents]] [[DriventoSuicide to end it all]] once they were sure she was safe. Then there is her own [[WarIsHell experiences on the battlefield]].
* DeadPersonImpersonation: An unintended example. The Order believes her to be the late Lesly Rubicon and tries to support her from a distance as she stumbles into doing what Lesly would have done.
* DesignerBabies: Artificial conception became commonplace after the Terran Hegemony War made natural births incredibly risky. Alexandra was taken a step further and was engineered to hell and back, not that she is supposed to know that.
* DidYouJustHaveSex: Allya suspects she is either banging her advisor or one of the maids after she was positively glowing after being unavailable for an extended period of time.
* TheDreaded: She starts developing this reputation with the Republic's officers after repeated attempts to kidnap her just end with larger and larger body counts. The generals attempt to come up with plans to win while avoiding fighting her directly.
* ADungeonIsYou: She is accidentally turned into a dungeon core when Lelsy tried to become one. Like it or not she has to fulfill her role as a core by building and expanding a dungeon for adventurers to delve. Unfortunately, her editing power is rather limited around the adventurers, so she is largely limited to the night hours when the dungeon is closed.
* GemHeart: Her SoulJar is a red crystal, which she can insert into the chest of her avatar when she wishes.
* GeniusLoci: Alexandra is the dungeon and is everywhere within its influence all at once, though she needs to focus on certain areas to pay attention.
* PowerfulPeopleAreSubs: While she is far more powerful and in charge of the whole dungeon, she submits to Emilia in the bedroom.
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: She causes quite a lot of destruction while preparing for her revenge against the Order. She is also quick to threaten this to anyone who would dare harm her advisor or daughter.
* RegeneratingMana: Because she is from another world she was already able to passively generate mana. Coupled with becoming a dungeon she has even higher output and part of the reason people venture into her depths is to replenish and increase their supply.
* RevengeBeforeReason: She briefly considers the Order as potential allies when she realizes they have a mutual enemy but quickly [[PersonalHateBeforeCommonGoals discards the idea]]. Downplayed as she will still approach the situation cautiously and not just go in guns ablazing shouting "Haut les mains, peau de lapin!"[[note]] French for "Hands up, rabbit skin!"[[/note]]
* {{Robosexual}}: Arcadia was her on again off again girlfriend who used {{Sexbot}} bodies when they were intimate.
* SpannerInTheWorks: She has put the Order's long-standing plans into danger by making them think Lelsy is still alive. They are continuing to pour resources into it, believing it is still going how they want it to.
* TomatoSurprise: [[spoiler: She an [[SplitPersonality alter]]. See The Apparition below.]]
* ViolentlyProtectiveGirlfriend: Make her girlfriend cry and she will unleash hell upon you... or a [[GravityMaster black hole]].
* WeHaveReserves: She takes advantage of her literal reserves of golems to throw at the enemy in harassment campaigns and wear them down. Losing a few hundred of them doesn't matter in the long run.
* WrongGenreSavvy: She comes from a high sci-fi world where spaceships are the norm and can build some impressive stuff but she sometimes forgets she is in a fantasy world now and doesn't always consider applications of magic.
[[/folder]]
[[folder: Emilia Von Oswald]]
!! Emilia Von Oswald
The third daughter of Carlstein Von Oswald, Duke of the Western Marches. She was chosen to become Alexandra's dungeon adviser and was teleported to her when she awoke. She seems to have an endless supply of books and often tries to get Alexandra to put more aesthetic choices into her designs.
----
* BewareTheNiceOnes: She is a lot nicer than Alexandra and sometimes serves as her MoralityPet but she is still a century-old vampire and blood mage.
* BloodMagic: She can use the blood of the fallen to cast her powerful magic. She is forbidden from teaching it to Alexandra though.
* BookSmart: She has a large collection of books and she spends a lot of time reading them. Part of her job is explaining to Alexandra everything she needs to know to run her dungeon and that requires a lot of study.
* {{Bookworm}}: She carries an unknown number of books with her at all times and Alexandra claims she salivates at a new one.
* BrainsAndBondage: On top of her love of books, she also loves tying Alexandra up in the bedroom.
* CuteLittleFangs: The main way people can tell she is a vampire is by her fangs.
* CuteMonsterGirl: A pretty vampire girl who looks petite compared to Alexandra's towering avatar.
* DaywalkingVampire: Vampires don't burn in sunlight but if they aren't contracted to a dungeon they have a high risk of developing skin cancer. She seemed to enjoy sunlight for the first time after contracting with Alexandra.
* LesbianVampire: [[spoiler: Starts settling into her role as Alexandra's wife once they start developing romantic feelings for each other.]]
* OlderThanTheyLook: While she looks like a young adult, she is over 100 years old. She is a bit hush about her age but it seems she is closer to 100 than 200.
* SleepingWithTheBoss: She is Alexandra's advisor and eventually starts sleeping with her. Dungeon/advisor romances are stated to be pretty rare.
* ThrowTheBookAtThem: She will throw one of her numerous books at Alexandra when she annoys her. She only sometimes manages a hit.
[[/folder]]
[[folder: Allya Aubétoile]]
!! Baroness Allya Aubétoile
A Knight Valiant of the Eris Empire turned assassin after killing an archduke's daughter in a duel. After discovering Crystal's dungeon she bought the lands around it and became a baroness, developing the land into a dungeon town. She soon entered into a relationship with her business partner Pyn.
----
* AccidentalMurder: She didn't know about the more exotic enchantments on her family sword that would prevent Flora from being resurrected after their duel.
* AssassinOutclassin: An attempt is made on her life early in the series, only for her to kill her attackers faster than expected. The final assassin is called off at the last second.
* BerserkButton: Even mentioning slaves in her territory will invoke her anger.
* DealWithTheDevil: She gets in over her head with her deal with Crystal when she realizes what is coming but must stay the course.
* {{Deuteragonist}}: While the story is largely about Alexandra's quest for revenge and the upheaval her appearance caused, a sizable chuck of the story focuses on Allya trying to build her city and defend it from the myriad of threats it faces. She even lampshades this.
* DuelToTheDeath: Before becoming an assassin, Allya once dueled Flora as they were both in love with the same person. This was a failed attempt to get the pair to hook up which resulted in Flora's permanent death. As Flora was the daughter of an archduke, Allya had to flee the country.
* McNinja: She is an assassin who dresses like a ninja with dirty blonde hair. Pyn couldn't recall seeing her whole face before the pair decided to settle down together. She had performed infiltration missions in the past, both covert and overt.
* NobleFugitive: Zigzagged. She was a knight valiant before becoming a baroness. While officially she wasn't wanted in her home country a certain archduke wanted her dead, forcing her to go on the run.
* OhCrap: [[spoiler: Upon realizing that Crystal is actually the extra dimensional Alexandra she can barely contain her horror, passing off her slip up as anger at another party.]]
* ProperlyParanoid: She has spent the last several years of her life looking over her shoulder because she killed the daughter of an archduke. He still hasn't given up on assassinating her.
** Something about Aline rubs her the wrong way and she keeps wanting her to be executed, much to Sylvia's apprehension. [[spoiler: Both are secretly agents of the Order.]]
* SecretSecretKeeper: She figures out that [[spoiler: Crystal is really Alexandra after finding out there was an Alexandra. She keeps it to herself while trying to guess her motives.]] [[spoiler: Subverted when she eventually tells Trira, which causes Alexandra to find out. This turns her into just a SecretKeeper.]]
* SlaveryIsASpecialKindOfEvil: Growing up in the core of the Eris Empire, she was taught that slavery was only practiced by uncivilized barbarians. After traveling the world, she is inclined to agree with them. Bringing or even suggesting bringing slaves into her city is enough to send her into a rage.
* TeamKiller: She wants to avoid this reputation but she killed her party leader when he tried to kidnap Alexandra's core.
* TranquilFury: She can keep her cool in a crisis. When she's mad she won't show it but she will plot something.
[[/folder]]
[[folder: Pyn Windwrath]]
!! Pyn Windwrath
An elven ranger who had to rob a bank to save her family. She discovered the dungeon with Allya and the two formed a partnership, becoming her knight, her adviser, and her girlfriend. She is a much more skilled negotiator and city planner than Allya.
----
* BuxomBeautyStandard: She has a very large chest that Allya keeps getting distracted by.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: She is a lot smarter than people may give her credit for and can out-negotiate the best of them.
* MsFanservice: She likes to dress up and tease her girlfriend in skimpy or tight-fitting outfits.
* NaughtyNurseOutfit: She finds a nurse's outfit that is a size too small to tease Allya while she nurses her back to health to punish her for [[AngerBornOfWorry not running from a fight]].
[[/folder]]
[[folder: The Apparition ''(Unmarked Spoilers)'']]
!! ???
A former High Admiral of the EFSN and Alexandra's original personality. It is implied her name wasn't Alexandra Rousseau back then. Following the Alpha Centauri Campaign, she tried to kill herself but was stopped by Arcadia, who altered her personality as an alternative and put her to sleep in the back of Alexandra's subconscious.
----
* BrainUploading: She did this at one point, temporarily becoming an AI before getting put back into her body.
* DriventoSuicide: The horrors she witnessed and committed led her to attempt to take her own life.
* HeroicSafeMode: She takes over when Alexandra's [[SplitPersonalitySwitchTrigger can't handle the stress]] of the situation, being more ruthless and calculating than her alter.
* OutsideContextProblem: She spots the code that is manipulating Alexandra and constructs a dummy program to fool it. This leads Alexandra to learn about the control the church or the God of Fire has over the dungeons. They hadn't counted on a dungeon having a split personality.
* NervesOfSteel: She keeps a cool but ruthless head in a crisis while Alexandra panics.
* RegretfulTraitor: When she became part of Arcadia's gestalt she gave Arcadia all her military secrets, including the codes to her ExplosiveLeash. Alexandra is horrified to learn this.
* ShellShockedVeteran: More so than Alexandra. She needed her memories suppressed to cope with the horrors of the Alpha Centauri Campaign.
* TalkingToThemself: She and Alexandra have chats inside their mind as they talk about what she has found and war goals.
* TheseHandsHaveKilled: She glassed an entire planet. Countless deaths are on her hands.
* TomatoSurprise: She is the original Alexandra, having become part of Arcadia's gestalt temporally. She was sealed away after attempting to take her own life. The current Alexandra is an artificially created alter to help her cop, left unaware of this fact.
* TranquilFury: When she reaches her breaking point she doesn't yell or threaten, she will introduce you to a black hole.
* WalkingSpoiler: It is pretty hard to talk about her without revealing Alexandra's past or the interference of the gods.
[[/folder]]

!! [[DepartmentOfRedundancyDepartment Dungeon Factory Dungeon]]
[[folder: CQ]]
!! Crimson Queen
Better known as CQ. She is Alexandra's first boss, as well as her final boss. She was modeled after Alexandra's avatar, only of an average human height. While not originally possessing sentience, she watched Alexandra and Emilia and learned from them, eventually developing the mind of a child.

Because Alexandra must hide her avatar she frequently borrows CQ's body when she needs to interact with people and the faceless golems won't due.
----
* DeathIsCheap: She gets killed a lot, mostly off-screen, but isn't bothered by it, coming back to life an hour later. She is more concerned about losing her sword.
* FinalBoss: She is Alexandra's first and final boss. Whenever she finishes a new floor she creates a new boss and moves CQ down a level.
* FlashStep: One of her first abilities allows her to move across the room in the blink of an eye. It does however have a bit of a cool down.
* OurPhlebotinumChild: She was created as Alexandra's first boss at Emilia's direction. The two helped train her and she started calling them Mom and Mommy once she learned how to talk.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Jared]]
!! Jared
Originally a standard golem that Alexandra used to fetch her items and serve snacks. He eventually became more intelligent and was promoted to her second consecrate boss.
----
* BattleButler: Serves as Alexandra's butler but is also a powerful robot and came to use firearms, serving as a boss monster when necessary.
* GrewBeyondTheirProgramming: He was never intended to be any more than an extra pair of hands. He started to be able to think for himself more and able to manage the other golems.
* TheGunslinger: When the Republic's forces breach the dungeon he steals a gun from them to fight back and has taken to using it whenever in a fight.
* TheSpeechless: Never speaks and it is not clear if he can. Standard golems can talk when Alexandra possesses them or they are given prerecorded lines.
[[/folder]]
[[folder: Seraph [=4-16=] (Unmarked Spoilers)]]
!! Seraph 4-16
The A.I. tasked with managing the Sagittarius Imperial installation deep below the Angel Fall ruins. She awakens due to the increase in ambient mana and gains self awareness. She fuses with a kernel of Arcadia and helps run the dungeon.
----
* AiIsACrapShoot: Zigzagged but justified as her creators didn't want her getting too smart. She mistakes an attack on Alexandra's dungeon for an attack on her installation even though weeks go by with nothing happening. She then makes several tactical errors when engaging her forces
* AliensStealCable: Has access to a bunch of old holo movies, which she programs the golems with lines from, causing them to give contradictory orders when ordering an intruder to surrender.
* RestrainingBolt: Had safeguards that prevented her from becoming self-aware but disabled them after she failed to make contact with any living member of the Sagittarius Empire.
* WalkingSpoiler: It is rather hard to talk about her without revealing the Old World ruins will attack the dungeon and lose.
[[/folder]]

!! Rebirth
[[folder: Calder Eldmur]]
!! Captain Calder Eldmur
Captain of the expeditionary cruiser Alberta and the council's liaison with the city's airships. He is a veteran of wasteland expeditions. Renowned for his fearlessness and 'creative' tactics.
----
* TheCaptain: He is the captain of the [[CoolAirship Alberta]] and frequently provides air support.
* TheCavalry: Comes with being in charge of air support. He will often provide backup after the battle has started.
* OfficerAndAGentleman: He insists on calling Allya a lady, even before finding out she is a noble, and kisses her hand when they first meet.
* OurOrcsAreDifferent: Orcs were originally SuperSoldiers genetically engineered for aggression, though Calder has been nothing but professional if a bit eccentric.
[[/folder]]
[[folder: Eismi and Ellyana]]
A pair of twin fox girls from New Raleigh. Eismi is an artificer and Ellyana is an alchemist. While they sit on the Rebirth Council, they are New Raleigh Special Operatives.
----
* AlwaysIdenticalTwins: Allya wondered if they were clones when she first met them. If not for Eismi's prosthesis, she'd never be able to tell them apart if they switched clothing.
* ArtificialLimbs: Eismi's right arm is a prosthetic. We don't know how she lost the original.
* DealWithTheDevil: They make deals with Crystal in secret. It doesn't hit them until later how much death and destruction they inadvertently caused by teaching her how to make steel. The double down because she is still the LesserOfTwoEvils.
* FoolishSiblingResponsibleSibling: Eisemi has gotten into her fair share of sticky situations, much of which was her sister's fault.
* IdenticalTwinIDTag: Eismi's [[ElectronicEyes artificial eye]] and [[ArtificialLimbs arm]] is the only way to tell them apart.
* LittleBitBeastly: They have fox ears and tails.
* TeleportationMisfire: While trying to teleport into Crystal's entrance hall, Eismi finds herself in the R&D lab with golems pointing guns at her. [[spoiler: Downplayed as they were testing the TeleportInterdiction at the time and she found herself the unwitting test subject.]]
[[/folder]]
!! Adventurers' Guild
[[folder: Master Erik]]
!! Eriksen “Erik” Dragonslayer
The guild master of Nardria and Adamantium rank. He integrated Alexandra into the Adventurers' Guild and attempted to protect her from those who would exploit her.
----
* TheDragonslayer: The name [[ExactlywhatItSaysOnTheTin Dragonslayer]] is apparently well earned.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: While he is still bound by the rules and regulations of the Guild and to a lesser extent the Kingdom, he does his best to prevent people from harassing Alexandra and ups her protection after she was attacked once.
* ScrewTheRulesImDoingWhatsRight: [[spoiler: He forces his way back into the Order to insure Alexandra's name is recorded and makes it clear to Joachim that he will pay for killing someone under his protection once this is over.]]
* SecretKeeper: He knows Cassissa's true identity and keeps it hidden. He unfortunately had to report Alexandra's existence when he became aware of her, though by that point several people in the guild hall had found out.
[[/folder]]
[[folder: Master Starvak]]
!! Starvak Estorius
Guildmaster of Darthar and Adamantium rank. He is a dwarf known for his legendary mustache. He relocated to Rebirth, at least temporarily, to establish a Guild presence there.
----
* ActuallyPrettyFunny: He was furious when he called Elkaryos after finding out he underwrote the contract to buy the land around the Angel Fall ruins but he started chuckling when he realized Elkaryos didn't know about the newborn dungeon there.
* DivideAndConquer: He once tricked three armies into fighting each other while he made off with the NLR core.
* TheDreaded: Goes hand in hand with being Adamantium rank, but when the Republic's black ops came to kill Rebirth's leadership and found out he was representing the Adventurer's guild, they question if they even had something capable of killing him.
* {{Hypocrite}}: He frequently makes a fuss about Allya's dealing with Crystal after he had already made a backroom deal with her to get a section of the dungeon that changes daily to profit the Assault Guild. Allya knows he took Eismi into the dungeon for his end of the bargain.
* NighInvulnerability: Has been seen tanking an insane amount of damage to the point where he would just soak up enemy fire to prevent his allies from being targeted.
* ObstructiveBureaucrat: He blocks taking Old World tech, magical materials, or artifacts into the dungeon other than ones she already produces, though he made an exception so Emilia could contact her family.
* SilentScapegoat: He volunteered to take the blame for [[spoiler: the massive casualties in the battle with the Old World armada, resulting in him being dismissed as Rebirth's guild master. A good chunk of it was his fault as he had abandoned his people to die to prevent Crystal from taking the Old World flagship for herself, something that was mistaken for a grab for glory.]]
* WellIntentionedExtremist: He takes a hard-line stance on enforcing the Guild's policy of controlling the development of dungeons by trying to prevent Old World tech from falling into Crystal's hands because he has lived through the United Dungeon Wars and doesn't want those nightmares repeated.
[[/folder]]
[[folder: Cassissa Elaria]]
!! Cassissa Elaria
A guild clerk at the Nardria branch and Silvarium ranked. She was the first person at the guild Alexandra spoke to after arriving on the planet.
----
See Cassissa Lumière for more details.
[[/folder]]
[[folder: Dominique Bordeleau]]
!! Dominique Bordeleau
A young Guild attendant of silver rank and Cassissa's junior. She was originally seen in Nardria but transferred to Darthar after Cassissa's disappearance. She then transferred to Rebirth and became the Guild representative to Allya.
----
* {{Clerk}}: She helps handle the paperwork with managing the adventurers in the city.
LockedOutofTheLoop: Eriksen likely knows what happened to Cassissa but hasn't told her about it or even that she is safe.
** [[spoiler: Allya keeps her in the dark on what happened to Alexandra.]]
[[/folder]]
[[folder: Alexandra's Original Party]]
When Alexandra revealed herself as an extra-dimensional, Guild Master Erik put her with a party to protect her and show her the ropes until she could be strong enough to protect herself. Raika was the party leader, with Alyessa the cleric, Fernand the alchemist, and Tomas the ranger. [[GuestStarPartyMember Cassissa]] had also joined them for a mission.
----
* AlchemyIsMagic: Fernand is the team alchemist, who can make [[MagicPotion Magic Potions]].
* AnArmAndAleg: Alyessa loses an arm trying to protect Alexandra. Assaria hates fire mages and keeps it in a stasis pod to [[KicktheDog torment her]].
* ArtificialLimbsAreStronger: [[spoiler: Alyessa's prosthetic arm is stronger than her real one. This causes problems as she has trouble controlling while getting used to it.]]
* TheBusCameBack: After being absent since the Vol. 1 prologue [[spoiler: they return in Vol. 5 after the Void Blades bring them to Rebirth.]]
* CombatMedic: Alyessa got her training at [[spoiler: The Fire Temple]] and uses both healing and fire magic.
* FireForgedFriends: They have spent a while camping in the wilderness, defending themselves from monsters, and protecting each other while slaves that they feel most comfortable staying together.
* LockedOutofTheLoop: They have no idea what happened to Alexandra [[spoiler: even after she saves them and Allya shelters them.]]
* MadeASlave: The four of them were enslaved by the Void Blades when they captured Alexandra.
* NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished: While they were ordered to protect her, they were genuinely friendly and supportive of Alexandra, fighting to the end. This resulted in them being captured along with her.
* PartyScattering: Downplayed, as four of them remain together. When they are captured, Alexandra and Cassissa where taken to two very different places while the others where enslaved. Finding them was one of Alexandra's goals.
* TheRedMage: Alyessa is equal parts healer and fire mage. Actually, she may love fire a bit too much.
* RightForTheWrongReasons: They believe Alexandra is still alive wherever she is because she is useless dead. The Order had tried to kill her to steal her RegeneratingMana. She is still alive, but only because the [[DeusExMachina God of Light]] stepped in.
* WrongAssumption: [[spoiler: They believe Allya's special treatment of them was an apology for them being enslaved for weeks under her nose and Eismi was trying to curry favor with the Baroness by gifting Alyessa a new arm as well as her hatred of slavers. Allya is actually currying favor with her ally Alexandra, who was the one who paid off Eismi.]]
[[/folder]]
[[folder: Arkor's Party]]
The first team to find Alexandra's dungeon after she was reborn. Originally hired to inspect the ruins to see if anyone had tampered with them, this was cover for their real mission, whatever that was. They soon discovered the influence of a dungeon.

They were led by Arkor Noran, a career criminal. Their members include Allya Aubétoile, Pyn Windwrath, Orokis Sarvakh, and John.
----
* AssholeVictim: Aside from Pyn, everyone has killed at least once, some many times. The guys gain little sympathy as they are killed.
* CannonFodder: John is a villager with a sword and shield they picked up just to be a meat shield. He couldn't even do that much.
* DoNotTauntCthulhu: Early into their delve, John calls the dungeon weak. He is soon shoved into a spike trap by a new type of golem. It wasn't clear if this was DeathByMocking or just bad luck.
* MenAreTheExpendableGender: Of the five members of the party, all the men are killed while the women are left largely unharmed.
* MurderTheHypotenuse: John thought it would be best to make his romantic rival disappear. He screwed that back up and if he ever returns to his home village he would disappear.
* NoFullNameGiven: Allya did detailed background checks on everyone but couldn't remember John's last name.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: Arkor is as greedy as they come but ignored a chance at loot. This clued Allya in that he was up to something. He soon tries to steal the dungeon core, something that would get them all killed.
* PlayingWithFire: Orokis is a pyromancer. This proved effective against the golems.
* ShootTheMageFirst: When they get to the boss room, Alexandra in CQ's body decapitates Orokis right off the bat.
* TooDumbTolive: Downplayed with Arkor, who is just clever enough to avoid capture but not clever enough to get away with his countless crimes. Stealing a dungeon core may get him a big payoff and a title of nobility but it paints such a massive target on his back that he would be dead before long. His magic contracts are so full of holes they are effectively worthless and he gets killed by his own teammate for taking the core.
* TokenGoodTeammate: Arguably Pyn when the party was still around. She was the only one who wasn't wanted for murder and only robbed a bank to save her family and prevent a murder. While Aylla didn't mean to murder Flora, she willingly killed many others for money between then and now.
* TwoGirlsToATeam: Allya and Pyn were the only women in the party.
* WouldHitAGirl: Orokis is wanted for the brutal murder of a woman in the Hegemony. Arkor's body count likely includes some women as well.
[[/folder]]
[[folder: Team Crystalline]]
A Mythril-ranked party of women who are often called upon when a dangerous quest must be dealt with quickly. Their members include Pyris the paladin and leader of the team, Sonya the sorceress, Arinka the armored vanguard, and Ellyris the ranged fighter. The four of them were called upon to investigate Crystal's new dungeon.
----
* AllWomenAreLustful: The team is sleeping with each other but Sonya takes it up to 11.
* AmazonBrigade: They are an all-female Mythril-ranked team.
* BunnyEarsLawyer: Sonya has trouble [[ExtremeLibido keeping it in her pants]] and sexually harasses her teammates but she also makes their enchanted gear and is the glue that holds the party together.
* TheFellowshipHasEnded: Subverted. Normally Mythril is when parties start breaking up and go their separate ways but thanks in large part to Sonya, the team has stuck together.
* TooDumbToLive: Sonya tries to hit on the dungeon adviser, in front of the dungeon host, but is stopped by Pyris. Subverted as Crystal may not have been a match for a Mythril-ranked adventurer at the time but it was still best not to make an enemy of even a young dungeon.
[[/folder]]

!! Merchant's Guild
[[folder: Elkaryos Rapier]]
!! Elkaryos Rapier
A Master Merchant and ex-Malachite rank adventurer. He Owns Night Dust Incorporated and Rapier Incorporated and is a member of the Syndicate Cartel.[[note]]An organization set up to protect dark elves when they were still being persecuted.[[/note]] He acts as Rebirth's financial backer, providing them with support from Darthar.
----
* GracefulLoser: Upon realizing Allya and Pyn hustled him, he takes a shot of [[MasochistsMeal Dwarven Fire Brandy]] and recommends them for membership in the merchant's guild. He continues to be a valuable ally in developing the town, committing to his deal with them.
* IGaveMyWord: Magical contract aside, he still takes pride in honoring his deals even after he found out he was tricked.
* TheTeamBenefactor: He provides resources and connections to Allya and Pyn to help them to build Rebirth, even after he realizes they played him.
[[/folder]]
[[folder: Sseth Tzeench]]
!! Sseth Tzeench of the House of Tach
Grand Merchant, making him head of the merchant guild. He operates out of the Eris Empire. Elkaryos was his protégé.
----
* ReallySevenHundredYearsOld: He is old enough to have seen the God of Fire, making him over 6,500 years old. He actually ages backward and has to take something to artificially age himself every so often.
* ScrewTheRulesIHaveConnections: He is one of the few people who can just get an audience with the imperial family whenever he wants, even if they aren't allowed visitors.
* SpannerInTheWorks: Catching [[spoiler: Princess Cassissa]] up on current events caused her to get in contact with Allya, prompting a chain of events that further threatens the Order's machinations.
[[/folder]]
!! The Order to Restore Humanity ''(Beware of unmarked WalkingSpoiler)''
[[folder: In General]]
The Order to Restore Humanity, more commonly just called The Order, is a secret organization looking to revive the Old World technology and restore the world to its peak, in clear violation of the Edict of the God of Fire. They were supposedly wiped out thousands of years ago but have been operating in secret. They kidnapped and sacrificed Alexandra shortly after she arrived in Alcheryos.
----
* AncientConspiracy: They were originally founded millennia ago and allegedly wiped out. Clearly, they have survived and have been pulling strings from the shadows.
* CodeName: Their agents use codenames while out in the field during communications. It helps them hide from the Temple.
* GreaterScopeVillain: While they may view their goals as noble they are intentionally threatening the stability of the world. Alexandra has sworn revenge against them but has no idea where to look. The Republic serves as her more immediate enemies as the Order manipulates them into attacking her.
* GoneHorriblyRight: Their master plan to create a new dungeon to revive Old World technology and disrupt the status quo worked. The new dungeon is steadily gaining power and rapidly developing tech. The only problem is that she isn't High Commander Lesly but an angry Alexandra plotting to kill them for trying to sacrifice her.
[[/folder]]
[[folder: Joachim Eternel]]
!! Lord Commander Gerald Joachim Eternel
Joachim was the first member of the Order to learn of Alexandra's arrival and played a major part in her kidnapping. As a result, he was promoted to better aid in High Commander Lesly's plan.
----
* BatmanGambit: After [[spoiler: old world tech starts converging on Rebirth]], he alters the plan, counting on Lesly to recognize what is going on and improvise. Too bad she's dead.
* DragonInChief: He has his superiors but we never see most of them. He is the one who runs the day-to-day of their master plan and directs the agents.
* GreaterScopeVillain: He is the one pulling the strings from the shadows and orchestrating the world events while the Republic is the most blatant threat.
* OhCrap: Panics upon recognizing Cassissa Elaria as Imperial Princess Cassissa Lumière after they had injured her in their attack on Alexandra.
* PragmaticVillainy: He comments how in novels people in his position would normally kill minions for failing a mission. Instead, he gives hazard pay to survivors when a team gets wiped out so he can get better debriefings and so mercenaries won't refuse to work for him in the first place.
[[/folder]]
[[folder: Lesly Rubicon]]
!! Continental High Commander Lesly Rubicon
Joachim's superior. She personally sacrificed Alexandra in a failed attempt to gain dungeonhood.
----
* DeathByIrony: She is killed trying to sacrifice Alexandra, giving her all the power she had tried to take for herself.
* DramaticIrony: Before she sacrifices Alexandra she tells her she may even have agreed to the ritual if she knew the plan and what is at stake. Alexandra has adopted at least part of the master plan, agreeing with their end goals, but plans to destroy the Order long before then.
* HoistByHerOwnPetard: The device she used to sacrifice Alexandra seems to of killed her.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: She doesn't survive the prologue. Alexandra has only a few moments to process meeting her before she is turned into a bloodstain on the wall.
* XanatosSpeedChess: She was apparently quite good at thinking on her feet and changing the plan as needed.
[[/folder]]
[[folder: Agent Iknor]]
!! Captain Sylvia Hiddenvale
The pirate captain of the Creative Acquisition and Pyn's ex-girlfriend during her pirate days. She is secretly an agent of the Order, infiltrating Rebirth to support Lesly.
----
* AbhorrentAdmirer: She frequently hits on Allya who makes it clear she isn't interested.
* AllAccordingToPlan: Said word for word after a failed attempt at stealing Crystal's core and the resulting political fallout. See DramaticIrony below.
* DramaticIrony: Believing Crystal is really Lesly, she often complements Alexandra's achievements and even follows her orders.
* ExtremeLibido: While they needed to take the job to get their foot in the door at Rebirth, Sylvia was primarily looking forward to scoring with Pyn again. Regularly she hits up the bars looking for some action.
* FriendInTheBlackMarket: Pyn called upon her when she needed to source some exotic docking tower parts.
* FriendlyPirate: Some might say too friendly.
* HeroicBSOD: While calling her a hero is generous, facing [[spoiler: the Old World armada]] left her visibly shaken.
* NiceJobFixingItVillain: She suggested to Allya to have Crystal imprison [[spoiler: the Void Blades]] believing Lesly will keep them safe and allow them to call upon them when needed.
* PirateGirl: She and all the notable members of the crew are female. In reality, she just gave Alexandra direct access to them and ensured they really won't escape. [[spoiler: This made them inaccessible during the insurrection.]]
* ReallyGetsAround: While she always strikes out with Allya, it is implied she regularly finds success in the different bars she visits.
* SkyPirate: She operates out of the airship the Creative Acquisition.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: She normally dresses like a stripper. Her in actual battle armor shows just how serious the situation is.
* WalkingSpoiler: It is rather hard to talk about her without revealing she is an Order agent.
[[/folder]]
[[folder: Agent Salter]]
!! Maria Lavaland
Sylvia's long-time friend and executive officer. Ace as hell, she often serves as her wingman at the bar scene. Like Sylvia, she is an agent of the Order.
----
* NumberTwo: She is second in command of the Creative Acquisition.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: Invoked by Sylvia when she hopes nobody at the bar questions why she would follow her after a guy hits on them and picks them up.[[note]]He was an Order agent and their contact. Hitting on them was just a cover.[[/note]]
* RomanticWingman: She helps Sylvia score at the bars. Also to keep her from getting too drunk and ending up in prison.
* SatelliteCharacter: She is rarely seen interacting with anyone other than Sylvia.
[[/folder]]
[[folder: Agent Serabor]]
!! Aline
An Order agent who had infiltrated the Scarlet Swords not long before they were hired to attack Rebirth. She manipulates them to further the Order's goals.
----
* FalseFriend: She joins the Scarlet Swords and was as friendly as could be but was only using them to further the Order's mission, which screws over the group.
* MoleInCharge: She is a high-ranking officer in the Scarlet Swords and even commands a detachment of them after they get scattered. Her goal is to simply use the group to push the Order's agenda further.
* SixthRangerTraitor: She only recently joined the Scarlet Swords before they went to Rebirth.
[[/folder]]

!! Elkis Republic
The largest country on the South side of the Red Sands Desert.
[[folder: Charles Neumen]]
!! Charles Neumen
An Elkisian Senator who effectively serves as the series' main antagonist, being the one to openly antagonize Alexandra and Allya with his repeated attacks on both Rebirth and the Dungeon Factory. He is descended from a powerful dynasty that was almost destroyed after the failed invasion of the Far Reach. Lacking the wealth his family once held, he is hellbent on restoring his dynasty to greatness, no matter the cost.
----
* CooperationGambit: Agrees to work with Sunrise who will help him conquer Rebirth in exchange for stopping the flow of golem parts. That said, it doesn't seem their [[InevitableMutualBetrayal alliance]] will last past them getting what they want.
* GenreSavvy: Surprisingly enough, despite his PointyHairedBoss status, he comes with some valid concerns about [[spoiler: teleporting into the dungeon]] again after they had [[NeverRecycleYourSchemes already did that once before]]. This concern is dismissed due to what would be required to develop countermeasures. She would need an archmage or Old World tech, [[spoilers: the latter of which Alexandra has.]]
* {{Greed}}: His driving motivation is to refill his family coffers.
* ImpoverishedPatrician: Subverted. He still has money but it is a fraction of what his dynasty once held. Compared to other senators he is rather poor and can't bribe them for votes.
* LackOfEmpathy: He doesn't seem to care about other people and considers a large number of wounded soldiers simply a drain on the Republic's resources.
* {{Nepotism}}: Like many Elkisian Senators, he had inherited his position from his parents, namely his mother after she was reduced to ashes while trying to invade the Far Reach. He actually seems rather proud of it. His knowledge of military matters seems rather... lacking.
* NeverMyFault: He doesn't want to even hear any insinuations that it is his fault, even when he intentionally set his underlings up to fail for his own goals.
* PointyHairedBoss: Colonel Orzal becomes less and less convinced he knows what he is doing as the conflict goes on.
* PragmaticVillainy: When Sunrise offers to send him a SexSlave to sweeten the deal, he worries about the slave being too young. Not because of any moral objection but because the Empire will kill him if they find out he has an underage slave.
* UnwittingPawn: Zigzagged. He holds connections to the Order and assumes they would slit his throat if it suited their goals but believes they won't until they get what they want. However, he is mistaken as to what their goal actually is and his profiting from the conspiracy may not be part of their grand plan.
* WarForFunAndProfit: He seeks to start a war so he can profit off of it. Lacking the bribes to secure the vote, he has decided to get another nation to declare war on Elkis. He started [[PretextForWar harassing Rebirth]] in order to provoke the Asarian Kingdom and steal the dungeon core if he could.
* WeHaveReserves: He doesn't think too much of sending men on suicide missions just to provoke the enemy. [[spoiler: He actually gets out right annoyed that General Amelia was able to get most of her casualties revived, as their post-resurrection recovery would be a drain on the nation's finances.]]
* WrongAssumption: He scoffs at another Senator's desire to reinforce the Republic's Eastern border, who believed Tark would attack his estate. Neumen believes Tark won't attack as in every conflict between them Elkis had been the aggressors and they have nothing to worry about if they don't attack first. Meanwhile, Tark is preparing for a war of revenge and is waiting for Elkis to leave themselves vulnerable. His decision is influenced by his lack of investment in the East and his desire to invest as many military assets as he can into his personal war against Rebirth.
[[/folder]]
[[folder: Orzal Vek]]
!! Orzal Vek
Elkisian Republican Army special operations colonel. A pure careerist, his ascension was helped by his remarkable loyalty and reliability to the Senate, although some suspect it was born out of opportunism rather than true fealty. Known for his concern for his men, which in return inspires a great deal of loyalty from his troops.
----
* PoorCommunicationKills: The Senate has compartmentalized their intelligence, only allowing him to share information with General Amelia about her mission that they have approved. Even so, he will try and leak the information he feels she needs to know. [[spoiler: His refusal to even consider the reports of the dungeon working with Rebirth, not even mentioning them, leads Amelia to suspect he set her up and results in heavy casualties.]]
* SurroundedByIdiots: He feels this way when he has to meet with the Senate's war committee, who are more interested in lining their pockets than how many lives they will have to throw at the problem.
[[/folder]]
[[folder: Volkar Zonran]]
An An Elkisian Senator who owns property near their shared border with the Tark Hegemony.
----
* ProperlyParanoid: He wants to reinforce their military on the Eastern side as he fears a conflict with Tark, a country that has had two wars with Elkis where they gained territory and are currently planning for a third. Charles dismisses these concerns as in every conflict Elkis was the aggressor.
[[/folder]]
[[folder: Amelia Loveheart]]
!! General Amelia Loveheart
A Republic army general who lacks ties to the senate. She was tasked with the first official attack on Rebirth.
----
* BuyThemOff: Her plan for making Crystal more tolerant of their occupation of Rebirth is to pay her off with a special package. [[spoiler: It was a box of rare metals, which she uses to buy the lives of what is left of her army after a crushing defeat.]]
* FightingForAHomeland: She sees the senate as corrupt and wishes to take back the Republic for the people.
* MistreatmentInducedBetrayal: The senate's blatant disregard for their own soldiers has caused her to try and take Rebirth for herself to stage a coup against them. [[spoiler: She failed but is still planning on a coup.]]
* AMotherToHerMen: She truly cares for the soldiers under her command and has earned their loyalty.
* OhCrap: When she found out she would be fighting both the city and the dungeon at the same time.
* SuicideMission: She sends in special ops teams to destroy the Bertha, knowing full well they won't be coming back but has to as it is too much of a threat.
* TearsOfJoy: [[spoiler: She sheds tears after Crystal resurrects 75% of her fallen soldiers, far more than what she could have hoped for.]]
* ThisIsGonnaSuck: After Crystal sends her golems to harass her forces at night she quickly realizes they won't stop.
* WarIsHell: She is sick and tired of the Senate sending its soldiers to fight and die for their coffers.
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Coledar Victis]]
!! General Coledar Victis
Technically second in command of the Republic Expeditionary Force. [[spoiler: In practice he is Amelia's replacement.]]
----
* EntertaininglyWrong: When the supply convoy is very late and half of the escorts are confirmed destroyed, he assumes it is the work of wasteland monsters as the Kingdom couldn't muster the airfleet needed to take them down. [[spoiler: It was the work of SkyPriates sent by Crystal. He plays into her hand.]]
* ThisIsGonnaSuck: He is not looking forward to fighting the dungeon at all.
* VetinariJobSecurity: He plans on involving this by engineering a situation where the Republic will need to keep him posted in the wasteland to protect them, as they would replace him otherwise once he finishes his mission.
[[/folder]]
[[folder: Artay]]
!! Admiral Artay
Admiral of the fleet tasked with protecting the Expeditionary Force.

* DotingGrandparent: While initially irked by CQ calling her daughter Mommy, she soon starts spoiling the girl, using Sarah and Ella as proxies.
* IWantGrandkids: Or more grandkids. While she accepts CQ as her granddaughter, she starts putting pressure on Emilia to produce some more.[[note]]Emilia is her only child who has a partner.[[/note]]
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: She is called The Blood Witch of Hartown and Harvester of a Thousand Souls for a reason.
* TwerpSweating: After CQ calls Alexandra and Emilia Mom and Mommy respectively while on a call with Eternia, she demanded to talk to Alexandra immediately.

* DestructiveSaviour: Sarah once [[WebVideo/HellsingUltimateAbridged "Went for a walk"]] that resulted in a quadruple murder and fifteen thousand mana in property damage to stop a robbery several blocks from where she was supposed to be shopping. Alexandra could still see the blood on her fangs.
* DisproportionateRetribution: When a guard got a bit hands-on with Sarah she left him in six pieces. Alexandra had to bring him back to life and pay him off to defuse the situation.
* BladeEnthusiast: Ella keeps several shape implements on her person at all times.
* NinjaMaid: Both serve as maids but they are also vampires and highly trained soldiers.
* TooImportantToWalk: Subverted. Sarah starts getting carried around on a palanquin or a wheelchair with spider legs, giving this impression. [[spoiler: In reality, she has had trouble walking after undergoing BodyHorror and just lets people think that. Played straight when she keeps doing so after recovering.]]

!! Eris Empire
The largest nation on Alcheryos, ruling over half the world by population.
[[folder: Cassissa Lumière]]
!! Cassissa Lumière
Posing as a Guild attendant named Cassissa Elaria, she is a princess of the Eris Empire and sister of the current Empress. She was under the protection of Eriksen Dragonslayer until she was captured by the Void Blade and The Order, who quickly turned her over to her homeland to avoid retaliation on the matter. She was then placed under house arrest.

As a guild attendant, she was Mythril rank and was on duty when Alexandra first came in. Not believing she was from another world at first, she was soon tasked with protecting her. [[spoiler: She was also saved by Allya and befriended her. She attempted to pair her and Flora together only for it to end in disaster.]]
----
* BoomerangBigot: She initially frowns upon hearing that Alexandra's last name is Rousseau, a common surname in the Eris Empire, as people from the Empire tend to think they are better than everyone else. She later turns out to be an Imperial princess, though her explanation may have been a cover to hide the fact she could be recognized.
* TheBusCameBack: She disappears after the prologue and is not seen or heard of until chapter 149.
* GildedCage: After getting captured and almost killed, she is put under house arrest in the palace. Outside of limited staff and family, she is only able to meet with potential suitors.
* HiddenBackupPrincess: Sort of. She is in line for the throne, albeit remotely, and goes to another continent under a different name but it was a life she pulled for and her family wasn't thrilled with the idea.
* IOweYouMyLife: Allya once saved her life. She still thinks of her as her savior.
* KingIncognito: To allow herself a chance to grow free from the influence of her family, she takes a job as a Guild attendant on another continent and changes her last name. Alexandra had no idea when they met.
* LockedOutofTheLoop: Rebirth was pretty big news but she was unaware that Allya had her own principality.
* ModestRoyalty: She looks like any other Guild attendant when we first meet her, not a sign of her imperial status.
* MyGreatestFailure: Trying to pair off [[spoiler: Allya and Flora]] ended with [[spoiler: Flora's]] death. She still regrets how that turned out.
* ShipperOnDeck: She once tried to pair off two of her friends who had crushes on her. That didn't end well.

----
* OutlivingOnesOffspring: His daughter was killed before the events of the story and he seeks revenge.
* PragmaticVillainy: As much as he wants Allya dead, he wants his head to remain attached to his body. He will call off assassins and take his time to ensure her death can't be traced back to him. He also won't go through the merchant guild because Sseth will do more than just kill him if he has her killed that way.
* ScrewTheRulesIHaveConnections: Despite the imperial family's decision on the matter, he still seeks to have Allya killed and uses his friendship with Silvart Montuart, as well as a sizable amount of mana, to have Autonomous Threat Removal Bureau kill her until that method becomes too risky. He then explores other options.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: We only see him in one chapter so far but he is the reason why Allya had to leave the Empire and her motivation for building a dungeon town.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: We don't see much of him before he and the Bureau disappear from the story. [[note]]WordOfGod says he caught flack for having too many different POV characters early on and pushed him to the side until he becomes relevant to the main plot again.[[/note]]

The second group of mercenaries hired to kidnap Alexandra for the Order, capturing her and enslaving her party. They are led by the neonite Assaria Novalka.
----
* BrainUploading: Assaria's mind has been uploaded to a neonite body, which could be mistaken for power armor.
* ButtMonkey: A lot of Melinda's time is getting killed by Alexandra or recovering from getting killed.
* EliteMooks: They are a lot more powerful than most other soldiers or mercenaries Alexandra or Allya have to face.
* ExplosiveLeash: They lock bracelets with soul-sealing enchantments on their slaves.
* FantasticDrug: They have Fernand making magic potions but some of the lower-level guys pay him on the sly for narcotics.
* InsistentTerminology: Assaria insists her men call the slaves 'logistical support'. Justified as [[spoiler: the local Baroness will likely kill them if she finds they brought slaves into her city.]]
* KicktheDog: Assaria hates fire mages and ensures Alyessa doesn't get her arm back, even taunting her with it by keeping it in a stasis pod.
* KilledOffForReal: [[spoiler: Alexandra makes sure Melinda's second death sticks.]]
* LockedOutofTheLoop: Because they aren't in on the Order's plans, they didn't know to [[spoiler: stay away from Rebirth.]] The Order considers having them killed because of it.

* PragmaticVillainy: They don't kill those they defeat when they can enslave them.

[[folder: The Scarlet Swords]]
A group of mercenaries with a less-than-honest reputation. They were secretly hired by the Republic to attack Rebirth. They are led by Commander Gothram.
----
* TheBusCameBack: [[spoiler: They return in volume 6 after getting imprisoned in volume 3.]]
* CavalryBetrayal: [[spoiler: The Sunrise terrorists free them from prison to bolster their numbers during the insurrection. This results in the terrorists getting quickly overwhelmed once Gothram betrays them to side with Allya.]]
* ClosestThingWeGot: When [[spoiler: Sunrise]] was plotting their attack on Rebirth, they wanted [[spoiler: the Void Blades]] but they were inaccessible so they settled for the Scarlet Swords.
* KnowWhenToFoldEm: Gothram legitimately considers Allya's offer but [[spoiler: gets tricked into attacking anyway. He has to surrender when Gift shows up with his air fleet.]]
** After seeing what Allya and Crystal are capable of [[spoiler: he realizes trying to occupy or escape the city is suicide. Instead, he sides with Allya and surrenders after killing the terrorists who freed him.]]
* PunchclockVillain: They have nothing against Allya or Crystal, they were simply paid to invade the town.
* UnwittingPawn: While they are hired by the Republic for a shady job, they don't realize they are set up as decoys.
[[/folder]]
[[folder: Grant the Giant]]
A legendary mercenary. While not particularly skilled in combat he is a master of logistics and can lead his forces to victory more often than not.
----
* {{Irony}}: The King hires in to protect the kingdom with the back taxes he strong arms out of Sunrise when he tells them he doesn't have the resources to protect both Sunrise and Rebirth without more funding. [[spoiler: When Sunrise launches their coup, Grant is the biggest obstacle to them taking over the capital.]]
* PrivateMilitaryContractors: More so than other mercenary groups. He leads a full-on army and has his own flotilla of airships, protecting kingdoms that meet his price.
* ScrewTheMoneyIHaveRules: While he is expensive you get what you pay for and he will refuse all bribes. His officers are similarly incorruptible.
* TheStrategist: He is hired more for his leadership skills than his skill with the sword.

* {{Sexbot}}: She likes to date and would use sexbots as bodies when getting intimate.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: She is only part of Alexandra's backstory but developed hyperspace travel, which caused several ships' worth of people to become lost on Alcheryos, including Alexandra. The Sagittarius Empire would never have existed otherwise and Alcheryos wouldn't be what it is today.
[[/folder]]
[[folder: God of Fire]]
!! The God of Fire
The God who returned to Alcheryos following the Great Night and ushering in the Dawn of Flames. He is credited with restoring Order to the planet and authored the Edicts of the God of Fire, enforced by the Custodians of the Flame.

[[/folder]]
[[folder: God of Light]]
!! The God of Light
Another god who seems to be responsible for Alexandra's fate on Alcheryos.
----
* DeusExMachina: He saved Alexandra when she was being sacrificed. No mention of him was made prior to that.
* TheGhost: Alexandra blacked out when he saved her so we never see him.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: He only interfered once or twice off screen but he was the one who turned Alexandra into a dungeon core, putting the rest of the story into motion.
