He still averts the trope PoliceAreUseless by being overall supportive and non-obstructive to the Brave Express Team despite being constantly beaten by criminals with more advanced robots.

to:

* PoliceAreUseless: Subverted. Ozawa and the police force were always beaten when it comes to fighting criminals in robots, requiring the Brave Express Team to save the day. But when criminals were in vulnerable position (eg: Just got beaten by the Brave Express Team), Ozawa will be there to arrest the criminal and haul them to jail without fail. It mostly works with Shogun Mifune's men [[spoiler:and eventually Mifune himself.]]

* ItsAllAboutMe: She's [[GreenEyedMonster immensely jealous]] of Might being all rich ''and'' loved by the people. So she tried to imitate Might's gestures in contributing to charity by playing "[[JustLikeRobinHood Robin Hood]]" -- as in "robbing from banks, convert them into pennies, spitting mountains of those pennies to the public who doesn't even want them, if they don't want them, she'll destroy people's properties and just give each person 'one penny,' ''and forcing people to thank her in return''." Getting the whole concept wrong on so many levels without knowing it was her own problem all along.

He might be a hunter after Might, but he does not like dirty tactics. Additionally, except against Might Gaine, he'd still give a chance for the Bombers team to retreat since they're not really his main target, but they're stubborn enough for whatever reason to challenge him (trying to make sure Might Gaine could save people somewhere, or [[spoiler:avenging Might Gaine]]), which forced him to commit to the fight and when he does so, he'll move in for the kill.
