* UndyingLoyalty: Out of the four brothers, he is the most loyal and dedicated to Splinter. While the others love Splinter, they aren't as blindly dedicated to him, as seen in the first issue where Michelangelo and Donatello are ready to stop looking for Raphael, believing Splinter to simply be in denial about Raphael being dead, Leonardo wishes to stick to Splinter's orders no matter what. [[spoiler:Later in the story, the other brothers are abandon Splinter because of his increasingly amoral actions, Leonardo is the last to defect, and only does so after Splinter explicitly tells him to do so.]]

The loose cannon. Raphael is gruff and he lives for the thrill of a fight, though his passion is borne from the fact that he cares deeply for his family and friends.

* AmbiguouslyBi: For a while, it was a little unclear what her sexuality was. Back when she was human, she was involved with Casey for a while, and we've met at least one of her ex-boyfriends... but after her mutation and living in mutant town, she started having very flirty vibes with a pig girl named Sheena, and was all sorts of conflicted when Sheena kissed her. As of issue #117, though, she drops the ambiguity and the two start dating.

* MindlinkMate: It's too early to tell, but it appears that he's forming one with Venus.

* ArbitrarySkepticism: At least intitially, he's a borderline AgentScully, heavily skeptical of anything spiritual or spiritual, preferring the mundane or scientific explanation. He pretty much admits that it's only respect for Splinter that keeps him from outright dismissing the revelation of their reincarnation as nonsense; but he's not willing to "accept things on blind faith" without "some kind of empirical evidence." Later he becomes a little more open-minded.

* GadgeteerGenius: Downplayed compared to most versions of him. He's still the scientific tinkerer of the group, he's great with computers and can fix most machines, but you won't see this Donatello build robots and high-tech vehicles out of scrap metal.

* AndThenWhat: Asks this of Koya after recognizing that her drive to seek revenge against him is consuming her completely, and that she won't have anything to live for if she goes through with it. [[NotSoDifferent He's speaking from experience]].

* NotSoDifferent: Surprisingly, he reveals that he was a lot like Raphael when he was young; hotheaded, easily-angered and quick to violence. [[BreakTheHaughty Losing his wife, and then dying and being reincarnated as a rat mellowed him out considerably.]]
