Noshiko Yukimura is the mother of Kira and is a centuries old kitsune of legend. Consumed by rage over the loss of her American boyfriend Rhys while detained at a Japanese internment camp during WWII, she channeled the powers of the Dark Kitsune, intending to use its powers to get vengeance. Instead, the dark spirit took over Rhys, giving rise to the Nogitsune.

Noshiko, along with her husband Ken, now serves to mentor Kira on how to hone her newly-awakened Kitsune powers.

It's discovered by Malia, the Desert Wolf had [[spoiler:caused the car crash that killed her adoptive mother Evelyn Tate and her younger sister, by her own admission to kill Malia]]. She's a wanted assassin, and appears to be a werecoyote like her daughter.

* JumpingOffTheSlipperySlope: When it's believed a coyote mauled his family, he develops an irrational hatred against the animal in question. He brings a ''gun'' into the school after hearing the coyote was seen there, he sets up multiple steel jawed traps throughout the woods to trap it potentially endangering hikers, joggers. He also goes into the woods guns blazing - literally - trying to shoot the animal dead. He's unaware the coyote ''is'' his daughter Malia fully transformed which almost leads to him OffingTheOffspring.
