* TheChiefsDaughter: She is the daughter of Sirius, the chief of Aurarora and eldest member. In similar fashion to this trope, she forms a close relationship with an outside, Springer, and teaches him about their customs and traditions. Although being the chief's daughter does not automatically grant her leadership after him, as seen when [[spoiler:she is not even considered for the next leader after Razor Fang murders her father, but she still remains close to Springer after he becomes the new chief after her father's death and helps him with his position, but they don't become an OfficialCouple until the end of "Jakhowls in Equestria"]].

* AdaptationalNiceGuy: When he encounters the dragons, he's quite curious and laidback compared to his canon appearance. Though this is {{Justified}} because his appearance in ''Dragon's Awakening'' takes place when he was younger and more idealistic than in the future. This also gives him more understandable reasons for why he's so callous in the present, namely about how the loss of Silverbolt and Fira by Malafear led him to fear losing any more loved ones and become paranoid that Stygian might become another villain.

* TookALevelinJerkass: In the season 7 finale, he's just as much of a condescending jerk as his canon self, but his present day personality is uniquely contrasted with his more curious, kind self in ''Dragon's Awakening'' to show how deeply the loss of Silverbolt and Fira affected him. Fortunately, he also lightens up by the end too.

{{Corpsing}}: This happens to her in-universe while helping with a film production in "Lights, Camera, Infraction". While having shape-shifted into a dragon she falls to the ground while acting like she was stabbed and stays still, pretending to be dead. But while the other actors are proceeding with the scene she feels an itch, being forced to stay as still as possible until the director yells cut. Then she immediately changes back to normal and scratches like crazy.

* MakeMeWannaShout: He can use his echolocation as a weapon. Something that no other Batpony has been known to use.

* MamaBear: She and her sons use their Sonic Blast on Fangpire when he about to kill Rogue.

* DidntThinkThisThrough: Soarin just assumed that [[spoiler:Rainbow Dash would want to have kids with him one day, and didn't discuss it with her before their wedding, or even months ''after'' they got married. When the topic eventually comes up the two have an awkward conversation where Rainbow sadly admits she doesn't think she wants to ever have kids. Though Soarin tries to be understanding of her decision, and is okay with her suggested compromise of adopting, it still saddens him]]. Spitfire and Fleetfoot even call him out on how he didn't have such an important conversation with her until now. Fortunately for him though [[spoiler:Rainbow starts to come around to the idea of having kids of her own later]].

* BrainwashedAndCrazy: The mind-controlled Flicker uses the Bloodstone Scepter and a book to control her and the rest of the dragons. Fortunately, Spike manages to snap her back.

* BrainwashedAndCrazy: He's controlled by [[BigBad Malafear]].

* ButtMonkey: A RunningGag in "Plan Bee" is that every time they Student Six do the simulated exercise, Sandbar always ends up [[chain mace stepping in a pile of cowpat]]. He seems to finally avoid it the last time, only to [[YankTheDogsChain step in a different pile at the end]] while they are all celebrating.

* OfficialCouple:
** [[spoiler:It is revealed in "Jakhowl-Day" that he and Rainbow have been dating since Rainbow's time at the Wonderbolt Academy, but have kept it a ScretRelationship due to not wanting anyone to think Rainbow is getting special treatment. They go public at the end of the chapter after Springer discovers them and encourages them to come clean.]]
** [[spoiler:They finally got married at the end of "Viva Las Pegasus" after he proposed her, which Rainbow gladly accept it.]]

* IronicEcho: When Electra zaps him unconscious during their first battle by zapping the water puddle he was standing in, she taunts him saying "Don't you know water conducts electricity?" before leaving. When he faces her in a HeroicRematch, he tricks her into blasting a whole in a nearby aqueduct and blasts her with the water that shoots out and causing her to zap herself with her own powers. Once she is so injured she can't move, Magnus flies down to her and repeats her earlier line "Don't you know water conducts electricity?" before knocking her out.

* RageBreakingPoint: Heart wasn't in a good mood during "Forest Therapy" but when Raisins and Jaden keep asking him if there's something wrong with him, he just snapped at them as he was ranting about not wanting to lower his guard down again due to the actions of Cozy Glow, Razor Fang and Shroudheart.

* TookALevelInJerkass: Heart is a lot moodier in ''Jakhowls Rising'', due to [[spoiler:still being [[LoveHurts heartbroken over Cozy Glow's betrayal]]]]. He increasingly got worsen to the point of snapping at his friends in "Forest Therapy". Fortunately, he's got better at the end.

* TookALevelInJerkass: Heart is a lot moodier in ''Jakhowls Rising'', due to [[spoiler:still being [[LoveHurts heartbroken over Cozy Glow's betrayal]]]].

* CheerfulChild: He is the younger brother of Rogue and has nothing but positive interactions with he rest of the cast.
