The Mr. Misery reveal was cool but there's no reason that plot spoiler has to be included in every example. Sometimes it's not really relevant.

* ClothesMakeTheSuperman: It's revealed that his magical powers come from his jacket, because it is actually [[spoiler:Mister Misery]].
* EvilAllAlong: [[spoiler: Not him but his jacket was actually Mister Misery the whole time.]]
* FlatCharacter: While one of the core eleven students he still has little characterization or backstory compared to the others. The current depth of his character is that he's a foster child moved from one home to another, has been mistreated by at least one foster family, has a good appetite, and has an enchanted jacket of unknown origin that seems to be bonded with him and brings out a dark, violent side of his personality when he taps into its power.

Who shattered him really isn't a necessary part of this trope especially since it requires spoiler tags.

* LiterallyShatteredLives: He is shattered [[spoiler: Calvin's jacket a.k.a. Which happens in the following issue. It has happened to him before.

This trope is more a situation that takes place within the ongoing narrative because it's about two people with feelings for each other that aren't expressed but all other people in their immediate circle already know. Since it involves several people, it's more than a singular character trait. Moving up to main story page.

Yes, issue 9 did give some more "screen time" to Calvin, but not really a lot. We have the foster home dream and the fight with mindless ones. Most of the rest of the time Calvin is asking Doyle about his relationship with Emily. He's getting better but is still one of the flat ones.
