* DisappearedDad: Played with. Greg Universe is physically present and emotionally supportive, but the Gems have asked him to stay out of matters involving Steven's gem powers since he's "kind of a mess". He runs a car wash and lives in his van, while Steven lives at the house in front of the Gem monument. There's nothing stopping Steven from going to see him.

He runs a car wash and lives in his van, while Steven lives at the house in front of the Gem monument. There's nothing stopping Steven from going to see him. Although many fans have wondered why Greg doesn't live in the house with Steven.

* DudeWheresMyRespect: Has this sort of relationship with the Gems, considering that they have basically taken control of Steven from him due to his fledgling powers, and they all hold the opinion that he's "a bit of a mess." In "The Message", he finally gets sick of them giving up on him after they throw in the towel on his ability to translate the Wailing Stone's signal with his audio equipment, only to show that if they had just been patient with him and given him the time to think (and fix his van's blown out battery) he would've been able to help them out. By the end of that episode [[spoiler: after listening to Lapis' message that he got to work on his TV]], they seem to be coming around to him.

* LoveMakesYouStupid: In "Sworn To The Sword", Pearl's training and preying on Connie's desire to protect Steven eventually convinced Connie to sacrifice herself for whatever comes after Steven, similar to how Pearl would sacrifice herself for Rose. The thing is, Pearl can regenerate, Connie cannot, and Steven quickly realizes how detrimental that mindset is for Connie.

* {{Good Parent|s}}[=/=]MyBelovedSmother[=/=]KnightTemplarParent: Dr. Maheswaran is the more divisive of the two Maheswaran parents. -> ''"If every pork chop were perfect, we wouldn't have hot dogs."''

Greg Universe was a one man band. He didn't have much success, but seems happy enough in his simple life. Rose Quartz fell in love with him, and they had Steven together. While Steven lives at the temple with the Gems, Greg lives out of his van and owns Beach City's car wash: It's A Wash. He loves his son dearly and the two of them hang out quite often, sharing their musical talents.
----
* {{Adorkable}}: Despite being a middle aged man, he easily comes off as this through his earnest-but-goofy demeanor. To wit, just look at how he tries to show off for Steven in his and Rose's home video.
* AwesomeMcCoolname: The surname Universe is pretty impressive, though it's possible that it's simply a StageName that he kept.
* BerserkButton: "Maximum Capacity" shows that he is ''not'' a fan of {{Shapeshifting}}, being more than annoyed when Amethyst starts doing it to mess with him.
* BigFun: Not quite as chubby as his son, but still fits this.
* BigOlEyebrows: His eyebrows are tied with Steven's for the largest, and their most obvious point of resemblance.
* BumblingDad: The Gems don't think that highly of him.
-->'''Pearl:''' Greg is... nice, Steven... but I doubt Rose would trust someone like ''him'' with such a powerful weapon.\\
'''Amethyst:''' [[BrutalHonesty Your dad's kind of a mess, Steven]].
** Ultimately, though, it seems to be more of a [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]] or SubvertedTrope than anything, as he's only bumbling in that he's ill equipped to aid Steven in Gem related matters. As an actual father, he's loving, supportive, protective, and an all-around competent parent.
* CatchPhrase: "If every pork chop were perfect, we wouldn't have hot dogs."
* ChubbyChaser: Marty seemingly implies this when asking how big Rose was in "Story for Steven".
-->'''Marty:''' See, Greg, this is your problem. You want one huge woman, when you could have multiple small ones.
* DisappearedDad: Played with. He runs a car wash and lives in his van, while Steven lives at the house in front of the Gem monument. There's nothing stopping Steven from going to see him.

* DoesNotLikeShoes: He even drives his van with no shoes on.
* ExpressiveHair: In Space Race, Greg's hair, what's left of it anyway, becomes extremely spiky as he realizes Pearl is serious about going to outer space.
* {{Good Parent|s}}: Greg is a caring, devoted, and supportive father to Steven.
* HasAType: "Story for Steven" indicates Greg had a thing for much taller women even before meeting Rose.
* HiddenDepths:
** [[spoiler:He knew the origin of the Crystal Gems all along and was helping to keep Steven out of the loop.]]
** "The Message" shows that he's also a pretty talented illustrator and is an expert with sound technology. He ''was'' a one-man band, after all.
* InUniverseNickname: When he was on tour, his manager Marty called him "star child". Greg didn't seem to take issue with it, but it was pretty clear a way to demean him.
* InsecureLoveInterest: Greg doesn't even know why someone as great as Rose would fall for someone like him.
-->'''Greg:''' I don’t know what a magic lady like her saw in a plain old ''dope'' like me.
* InterspeciesRomance: With Rose Quartz.

* {{Leitmotif}}: He has a little song which is played most times he's in a scene.
* LockedOutOfTheLoop: Before witnessing it himself in "Ocean Gem", he didn't have a very good idea of what being a Crystal Gem entailed, and how much danger that meant Steven would be regularly subject to. [[spoiler:Although "The Return" reveals he was very well aware of the origins of the gems, their reason to be on earth and the war with the homeworld.]]
* ManlyTears: Greg sheds tears at the end of "Laser Light Cannon" after he sees that the beam from the cannon forms the shape of Rose.
* MayflyDecemberRomance: When Greg and Rose met he was a 20-something traveling musician while she was a more than 6000 years old LadyOfWar from a race of sentient gems. Tragically subverted as Rose died a decade or so later, leaving Greg to care for their son.
* NiceGuy: One of the nicest. A really upbeat, laid back, and kind guy. He always helps his son when he needs him.
* NonActionGuy: Greg is not a Crystal Gem. He does get involved when Steven specifically comes to him for help, though. So even if he's not the action type he's more than willing to stick his neck out for his son. And even though he doesn't have any particular training, he still rams his van into a water copy to protect Steven and Connie, and gets his leg broken for his trouble.
* OpenMindedParent: He knows that Steven can handle Gem missions, and that the Crystal Gems will protect him. His limits are beginning to be pushed in "Ocean Gem" when he get to see a "regular magical mission" by himself and started to question if Steven should be around dangerous situations anymore. Furthermore, when he realized how serious Pearl was to get her and Steven into space, he put his foot down because of the danger.
* PapaWolf: Despite his discomfort with any magical related mission, Greg was the first one to team up with Steven in "Ocean Gem". Also, he ran over a water copy of Steven in order to save his son and Connie.
* PermaStubble: Greg has a "nine o' clock shadow."
* PunnyName: The name of his car wash is "It's a Wash". [[DontExplainTheJoke The term is]] an Amerian colloquialism which means "there were positives and negatives but it all works out to breaking even" (or a failure). Greg was "a failure" as a rock god, but he's a good father, especially considering how out of his depth he is with a HalfHumanHybrid child, and the fully alien friends of his departed wife.
* RapunzelHair: A RareMaleExample, and clearly a remnant from his rocker days. His hair goes past his knees. Even stranger because his hairline has receded so far that all of it is coming from the ''back'' of his head.
** We get to see in "Story for Steven" that Greg once had a full head of beautiful, lush, long hair.
* RidiculousProcrastinator: Greg has apparently put off cleaning out his storage unit for ''years'' because anytime he starts he's sidetracked by memories both pleasant and painful, and only starts when there is ''literally'' no more room in it for anything else.
* SerenadeYourLover: After falling in love with Rose, Greg composed "Let me drive my van into your heart" for her. He also wrote a song inspired by Rose immediately after meeting her, and sang it to her outside the door to the temple, leading to the two going out in the first place.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: A mild case, but he definitely looks like Steven, most notably the eyebrows. "Story for Steven" shows that the resemblance was much stronger when he was younger.
* TanLines: Has a farmer's tan, which is weird because he's [[LimitedWardrobe always shown]] wearing a tank top rather than a t-shirt. A video in "Lion 3: Direct to Video" shows him dressed appropriately for that kind of tan, suggesting it may be a holdover from his traveling days.
* TinyGuyHugeGirl: Greg is fairly large by regular standards, but only reaches up to Rose Quartz's stomach in comparison.
* UglyGuyHotWife: A picture of Rose Quartz is seen in "Laser Light Cannon." Clearly she saw something in him other than looks. Although he was fairly attractive when they first met.
* VanityLicencePlate: "UNIVRS"

!!Big Donut
[[folder:Lars]]
->Voiced by: Matthew Moy

[[quoteright:150:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rsz_steven_lars_174x252_7508.png]]

Lars is a slacker who works at Steven's favorite snack shop, the Big Donut. He is a sullen, angry teen, overly concerned with being thought of as cool, and disdaining anything he sees as uncool.

----
* AloneInACrowd: Says he feels this way all the time to Sadie during "Island Adventure".
* AstonishinglyAppropriateAppearance: He works at a donut shop ([[TheSlacker more or less]]) and his floppy, stretch-pierced ears look quite a lot like donuts.
* BelligerentSexualTension: What Steven thinks Sadie and Lars bickering amounts to. Of course, he also refers to Lars as his BFF, so his interpretation should be taken with a grain of salt.
-->'''Steven:''' [Lars]] and Sadie run the Big Donut.\\
'''Connie:''' Do they get along?\\
''(Sadie and Lars talk over each other arguing)''\\
'''Steven:''' They're crazy about each other
* CannotSpitItOut: His feelings towards Sadie. Whenever Steven jokes about it, Lars will break out into {{Angrish}}. When Lars actually does kiss her, he later retracts it by saying she made the move on him.
* CrazyJealousGuy: In "Horror Club" Lars laughs at Ronaldo's eagerness about horror movies and general weirdness, then starts to behave really nasty towards him after Sadie started to bond with Ronaldo over those same things.
* CryCute: Most notably in "Island Adventure".
* DarkSkinnedRedhead: A lighter example of this trope, his skin and hair being different shades of orange. Ian Jones-Quartey said that [[http://ianjq.tumblr.com/post/101121180884/a-lot-of-people-have-speculated-about-lars-race he's not white]], but wasn't any more specific than that.
* DeadpanSnarker: He snarks at Steven's expense a lot, although he's typically more angry than deadpan.
* DoesNotLikeSpam: He doesn't like French fries.
* FatAndSkinny: Along with Sadie. Likewise with Ronaldo when they both were younger.
* {{Foil}}: Lars and Ronaldo are both slackers with a certain degree of egotism, but have otherwise opposite personalities and character flaws. Lars is unpleasant but more or less functional and so obsessed with being seen as cool that he ends up hurting the people he's closest to. Ronaldo is more friendly but obsessed with paranormal issues, and cares so little about what people think that he's a social outcast. Years ago they were friends, but their different priorities ended up putting an end to that.
* GrumpyBear: Lars's first reaction to most things is frowns and sarcasm.
* HiddenDepths:
** As far back as "Lars and the Cool Kids", we see that Lars is extremely desperate to fit in. Then there's his heartbreaking line in "Island Adventure"
---> ''([[CryCute teary eyed]]) Sadie... Do you ever get lonely... (cries harder) Even when you're around other people?''
** "Horror Club" revealed that Lars has had these insecurities since childhood, and his fear of being laughed at was the main reason his friendship with Ronaldo turned sour.
* ItsAllAboutMe: Lars's main flaw is that he's quick to get short-sighted personal gains at the expense of others or to assume people are working against him. These causes any number of problems when episodes focus on him.
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: Even though he's not that huge, he's much taller than Sadie.
* {{Jerkass}}: Lars usually does nothing to Steven other than act rude and prickish towards him. He can [[PetTheDog act more civil or patient toward him on occasion]] and sometimes indicates [[HiddenDepths there's more to him]], but if there's a HiddenHeartOfGold it's definitely buried ''deep'' down.
* JerkassFacade[=/=]StepfordSnarker: Sadie's belief about the more rotten side of Lars' personality is that he's putting up a front. A few of his [[Recap/StevenUniverseS1E14LarsAndTheCoolKids spotlight]] [[Recap/StevenUniverseS1E30IslandAdventure episodes]] does back this up.
-->'''Sadie:''' I can't get the thought out of my head that you’re a good person.
* JerkassHasAPoint: Lars was justified for being mad at Sadie for stranding him on an island without food, supply, or an opportunity to contact friends or family.
* LovesMyAlterEgo: A fan of Tiger Millionaire, who is just Steven in a PaperThinDisguise.
* MoralMyopia: After he turns against Tiger Millionaire, he [[LampshadeHanging directly says]] it's because he hurt him specifically.
* ObliviousToLove: While he seemed interested in Sadie in the pilot, he doesn't seem to be aware of her feelings in the series.
* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: The Manly Man to Steven's Sensitive Guy.
* TheSlacker: He'll go so far as to fake an injury to get out of working.
* UsedToBeASweetKid: Lars is pleasant and friendly to the point of being {{Adorkable}} in the flashback to his and Ronaldo's childhood (enough so that present Lars groans with embarrassment just from watching himself). He only starts to show hints of his present jerkass self when Ronaldo accidentally pushes his BerserkButton of having people make fun of him.
* WeUsedToBeFriends: He and Ronaldo were friends when they were kids. They had a falling out because Ronaldo took a picture that was proof of something supernatural but Lars tore it up because it would also have embarrassed him (and broke their promise about their club being a secret).

[[folder:Sadie]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Kate Micucci

[[quoteright:150:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rsz_steven_sadie_174x252_2556.png]]

Sadie is a clerk at the Big Donut. She's supportive of Steven's adventures, if weirded out by the other Gems, and has a crush on Lars.

----
* AllGirlsWantBadBoys:
** One of the pieces from the zine put out by several of the artists from the show implies Sadie has a crush on Lars.
** They are seen flirting with each other in the original pilot. Though, she told him to lay off when he mocked Steven, so she's aware that he can be a jerk.
** Her crush on Lars has been confirmed several times, in "Island Adventure" and "Joking Victim", but the latter appearance proves she has limits of how much of his jerkiness she will tolerate.
* AllLoveIsUnrequited: She clearly cares more about Lars than he cares about her, much to her chagrin.
* {{Badass}}: She took down a giant, invisible gem monster by herself (with nothing but a spear).
* BadassNormal: She's the only full human known to have beaten a gem monster by herself.
* BelligerentSexualTension: What Sadie and Lars's bickering amounts to from Steven's point of view.
* DudeMagnet: Her BelligerentSexualTension with Lars notwithstanding, her interest in his rare horror film gained her the favor of Ronaldo.
* FatAndSkinny: Along with Lars.
* FriendToAllLivingThings: {{Implied}}. One of Steven's cat fingers took a liking to her.
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: She's much nicer to Steven than Lars is.
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: She's much shorter than Lars. In fact, despite being in her late teens, she's barely any taller than Steven.
* LoveHurts: Breaks into tears when she sees that Lars ditched his job to spend time with Jenny and the other kids. Steven thinks she's just upset that he lied, but what makes her more upset is that she thinks that Lars is interested in Jenny.
* NiceGirl: Sadie's usual attitude is very warm and friendly, and she is generally very patient when it comes to putting up with Lars.
* PluckyGirl: She is always friendly to Steven and does her job with great enthusiasm.
* StraightMan: More sensible and down to earth than Steven or Lars.
* WomanScorned: When Steven suggests they prank Lars by putting a little fire salt in his doughnut in retaliation for his lying, she dumps the entire container into the pastry, causing Lars to breath actual fire from the spiciness.
* {{Yandere}}: Milder than most, but what else do you call someone willing to trap herself, her crush, and a young boy on an desert island to get closer to him?

!!Beach Citywalk Fries
[[folder:Fryman]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Billy Merritt

[[quoteright:165:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fryman_resize_2225.png]]

Frycook and owner of Beach Citywalk Fries.

----
* AnimeHair: His blond hair looks like [[AstonishinglyAppropriateAppearance a stack of fries]]. One would think that it is part of his hat until he takes his hat off and reveals otherwise.
* ButtMonkey: He gets his sign ripped off by strong gusts, his car crushed by red eye debris, and his restaurant attacked by its own mascot.
* HisNameReallyIsBarkeep: His last name is Fryman and he owns and operates a restaurant that seemingly exclusively serves variations on french fries. [[FamilyBusiness The same goes for his sons.]]
* ParentalObliviousness: Until the end of "Frybo", Fryman seemed ignorant of Peedee's depression and hatred of wearing the Frybo costume. He also [[ThereAreNoTherapists doesn't seem to have done anything]] about Ronaldo's borderline-psychotic behavior.
* UnnamedParent: He's only referred to as Mr. Fryman.

[[folder:Peedee Fryman]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Atticus Shaffer

[[quoteright:125:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/peedee_resize_1857.png]]
->'''Peedee:''' You pick up a job to buy a house or raise your kids or [[FreudianSlip impress your dad.]] You work away your life and what does it get you?\\
'''[[WideEyedIdealist Steven]]:''' Smiles and faces?\\
'''Peedee:''' No. You get cash. Cash that can't buy back what the job takes.

Fryman's youngest son. Tends to have a gloomy but pragmatic outlook on life.

----
* AdorablyPrecociousChild: Appears to be somewhere between eleven and thirteen years old, already cynical about work and the nature of a job.
* AmbiguousDisorder: His fixation on odd numbers may imply he has OCD.
* AstonishinglyAppropriateAppearance: His blond dreadlocks look like potato wedges.
* BigBrotherWorship: Peedee is dearly devoted to his older brother, and while he doesn't necessarily believe in Ronaldo's conspiratorial theories, he indulges his interest in order to ensure he stays happy. When he helps Ronaldo interrogate a snake-person (really Steven in disguise), he breaks down when Ronaldo suggests that Peedee might have to "take [Ronaldo] out" should he become infected with "amphibinoids." When Ronaldo's theories about the snake-people are disproven, he is emotionally devastated. Upon seeing this, Peedee quickly leads Ronaldo in a new direction with his research, revitalizing his brother's spirit.
* BurgerFool: His job consists mostly of playing [[BadJobWorseUniform Frybo, the Beach City Fries mascot]]. He hates every minute of it. By "Cat Fingers" he's been promoted to working the fryer, which he seems to consider a more dignified position.
* CharacterTics: He tends to clench his shirt in his hands when nervous or worried.
* CloudCuckooLandersMinder: To his brother - "Keep Beach City Weird" suggests he knows how bizarre his behavior is.
* TheCynic: Working for his father caused Peedee to develop a cynical outlook on life. Just see the head dialogue.
* TheEeyore: His job has left him sad and cynical. After he reconciles with his dad and moves to a more dignified post, he seems considerable better adjusted.
* {{Foil}}: He's the first child around Steven's age introduced and his cynical pessimism in "Frybo" exactly mirror's Steven boundless energy and optimism.
* FoolishSiblingResponsibleSibling: He's much more responsible than his older brother Ronaldo. Even Fryman says as much, acknowledging that Peedee will do fine during a power outage but doesn't think the same of Ronaldo. [[NotSoAboveItAll However]], Peedee is also convinced of Ronaldo's "snake people" theory by Steven's terrible costume in "Keep Beach City Weird", either because he's that gullible or because he desperately wanted his brother to be right so he'd stop being so depressed. He also takes his job so seriously that his dad needs to drag him away from the stand while the town is being evacuated.
* NeatFreak: Peedee was tasked with cleaning some condiment bottles twice, but cleans them ''three'' times because "odd numbers just feel cleaner".
* OutOfFocus: In comparison to Lars and Connie, whom Peedee debuted not longer after, Peedee isn't seen very often past his debut, and when he does and has lines, it's usually near/in relation to his job as a frycook. If he appears outside the Beach Citywalk Fries, it's usully in a non-speaking role, and past the Frybo incident, he has yet to go on an adventure with Steven as opposed to Lars, Connie, or even Sadie or the Cool Kids.
* RankUp: Between "Frybo" and "Cat Fingers", he graduates from mascot to working the deep frier.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Viewers often mishear his unusual name as "Petey" or "PD". The show's storyboards even use "PD" for short.
* ToothyIssue: Peedee is missing an upper tooth.
* WellDoneSonGuy: He clearly wants to be seen as a valuable member of his dad's business. He succeeds when his dad realizes how much his son hates being a mascot.

[[folder:Ronaldo Fryman]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Zach Steel

[[quoteright:115:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ronaldo_resize_8570.png]]
-> ''Don't get hung up on these minor "facts". [[IRejectYourReality Truth is about more than that, truth is a feeling in your gut that you know is true! Truth is searching for anything that proves you're right no matter how small, and holding on to that, no matter what.]]''

Fryman's elder son; Peedee's older brother. He runs a blog, called "Keep Beach City Weird", about the strange happenings around Beach City. He seems to be obsessed with the supernatural, to the exclusion of pretty much all else.

----
* AllOfTheOtherReindeer: Is apparently held in low regard around Beach City, with Lars' line during their childhood flashback being an indicator that he's always been the subject of mockery.
--> '''Young!Ronaldo''': Why do you care so much what other people think!?\\
'''Young!Lars''': You wouldn't say that if you knew what other people say about ''you!''
* AmbiguousDisorder: Given his need to feel special and his IRejectYourReality beliefs, there appears to be something genuinely off with him.
* AstonishinglyAppropriateAppearance: Has fry-like hair like his dad and brother, though his are more reminiscent of curly fries.
* AttentionWhore: When sentient watermelon people start attacking him, he's less concerned with his own safety than [[SocialMediaBeforeReason getting it on video for his livestream]].
* CharacterBlog: [[http://keepbeachcityweird.tumblr.com/ Keep Beach City Weird]]
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: He's a bit... odd, even by Beach City's standards. Case in point; the first thing he assumes when Steven buys a pizza for two is that ''he's pregnant.'' Taken UpToEleven in "Keep Beach City Weird", where he almost kills Steven under the belief that [[ItMakesSenseInContext he's a lizard person.]]
* ConspiracyTheorist: He seems to be the only person in town who actually pays attention to the weird stuff going on, [[ComicallyMissingThePoint but he also thinks they're caused by things like]] [[NinjaPirateZombieRobot vampire spaceships from the 1960's]]. Also deconstructed in "Keep Beach City Weird", which shows his beliefs as actually being dangerous to himself and those around him, not to mention that he's mainly a conspiracy theorist so he can feel like he's special. He gets depressed when Steven points out that he and the Gems are responsible for all of it, and Steven and Peedee end up trying to get him back on the wagon just to get him back to normal. At the end of said episode, he comes to the conclusion that all these things were caused by polymorphic sentient rocks, ignorant of the fact that he's technically described the Gems.
* TheCuckoolanderWasRight: His fear of [[spoiler:polymorphic sentient rocks hollowing out the Earth to drain its resources]] is eerily prophetic in light of "On the Run". What's more, he called the ones responsible [[spoiler:the "Diamond Authority", and it seems that at least one of the Homeworld Gems' higher-ranked leaders ''is'' a diamond (Yellow Diamond).]]
* CutLexLuthorACheck: A ConspiracyTheorist version would apply. He's quite imaginative, and would make for a pretty good science fiction author if he weren't such a nutcase.
* EarlyBirdCameo: Appeared in the background in "Frybo" before his first speaking role in "Cat Fingers." In a meta example, his blog was started several weeks before the show actually began to air.
* ExpressiveAccessory: As can be seen on his blog, his "Loch Ness Bloggster" hat matches his expression [[http://keepbeachcityweird.tumblr.com/post/74023343250/wrestling-tonight before]] and [[http://keepbeachcityweird.tumblr.com/post/74027587710/life-is-pain after]] his wrestling match with the Purple Puma.
* FoolishSiblingResponsibleSibling: Despite being a lot older than Peedee, he's definitely the foolish one. Besides the conspiracy theories, he's constantly shirking from work, when Peedee still does his share even if he doesn't like it. Even Fryman says as much, acknowledging that Peedee will do fine during a power outage but doesn't think the same of Ronaldo.
* {{Foil}}: Lars and Ronaldo are both slackers with a certain degree of egotism, but have otherwise opposite personalities and character flaws. Lars is unpleasant but more or less functional and so obsessed with being seen as cool that he ends up hurting the people he's closest to. Ronaldo is more friendly but mentally unstable, and cares so little about what people think that he's a social outcast. Years ago they were friends, but their different priorities ended up putting an end to that.
* FreakyIsCool: His blog is called "Keep Beach City Weird" for a reason.
* IRejectYourReality: He gives a speech to Steven that his idea of "truth" is just looking for even the smallest evidence that a gut feeling is right while ignoring any facts that might contradict it.
* ItsAllAboutMe: He's mainly a conspiracy nut because [[IJustWantToBeSpecial he wants to feel important]]. Key indicator is his woefully inaccurate definition of what the truth he's seeking is.
-->'''Ronaldo:''' Peedee, Peedee, Peedee. You gotta look at the big picture here! Something important is ''finally'' happening to me!
* OccidentalOtaku: Comments on his blog and in "Keep Beach City Weird" indicate that he's an {{anime}} fan, particularly of MagicalGirlfriend anime; one of his favorite anime is about an {{otaku}} who ''sells his soul'' for a girlfriend.
* ProudToBeAGeek: Ronaldo frequently (and loudly) talks about the supernatural, anime, and horror movies both online and in person.
* PsychopathicManchild: He's utterly obsessed with proving whatever he randomly "feels" is right to be the truth, evidence and the safety of those around him be damned.
* ScaryShinyGlasses: His glasses go opaque when he's attempting to be pensive in "Full Disclosure".
* StoutStrength: He's got enough muscle under that pudge to overpower Lars, lift him up over his head, and bodily throw him across a room.
* TooDumbToLive: His blog mentions him leaving the gas on the stove then laying down in a closet to try and astral project. When pinned under a fridge but with his phone in reach, he only attempted to contact his family through posts in his blogs instead of just calling emergency services.
* WeUsedToBeFriends: He and Lars were friends when they were kids. They had a falling out because Ronaldo took a picture that was proof of something supernatural but Lars tore it up because it would also have embarrassed him (and broke their promise about their club being a secret).

!!The Maheswarans
[[folder:Connie Maheswaran]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Grace Rolek

[[quoteright:128:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/connie_resize_8945.png]]
-> '''Steven:''' You know a lot about boats.\\
'''Connie:''' That's what happens when you hang out at the beach and [[SuperDrowningSkills don't swim]] [[TheLastOfTheseIsNotLikeTheOthers and]] [[IJustWantToHaveFriends don't have friends.]] Y-you look at boats.

Connie is a girl who frequently stays in or around Beach City due to her father's work. Steven developed a crush on her a year before the show's events, and saved her glow bracelet before even meeting her officially. Their real introduction comes in "Bubble Buddies", when he saves her from falling rocks. The two become inseparable good friends after that.

----
* {{Adorkable}}: Connie is often shy and doubting of herself.
* AwesomeMcCoolname: Her last name means ''"Lord of the Universe"''.
* BadassAdorable: Connie is a [[{{Adorkable}} dorky]], [[CuteBookworm book-loving]] child around Steven's age. She also has proved to be quite badass when the situation calls for it.
* BadassNormal[=/=]BadassBookworm:
** Lends her tennis skills to help Steven wield a giant sword in "Lion 2: The Movie;" and not only charges into battle against Lapis Lazuli in "Ocean Gem," but afterwards saves Steven from a mile high fall by teleporting up to grab him on Lion's back.
** In "Open Book," her first reaction to seeing Steven harassed by the Connie doppelganger generated by Rose's room is to start fighting it with her sword.
* BigOlEyebrows: Very similar to Steven's.
* BlindWithoutEm: She cannot see well without her glasses. Well at least until "An Indirect Kiss" where getting an IndirectKiss from Steven through sharing his juice, Steven's healing spit inadvertently fixed her eyes to 20/20.
* BollywoodNerd: [[DownplayedTrope She's not as stereotypical as most examples]], but she is still nerdy.
* BrainyBrunette: One of the most sensible characters in the series.
* CharacterDevelopment: Connie learns to become more independent and self-confident, standing up to others.
* CleopatraNose: She has a fairly long nose, though it doesn't protrude outwardly like Pearl.
* CulturedBadass: Connie loves to read (see GeniusBookClub), one of her other hobbies is playing tennis, and she can play the violin.
* CuteBookworm: In both the opening sequence and her debut episode, Connie is seen in the company of a book.
* EarlyBirdCameo: She has a prominent appearance in the opening song when she would not be introduced in the show proper until "Bubble Buddies".
* {{Fangirl}}: "The Spirit Morph Saga" series, although she didn't like the ending.
* FriendlessBackground: Since her family moves around a lot, she never had friends before she met Steven.
* FusionDance: Connie is apparently the first human ever to fuse with a Gem; Steven is half-human/half-Gem, so this may have something to do with it.
* GeniusBookClub: She has a copy of ''Literature/AWrinkleInTime'' in the opening and ''Literature/TheCatcherInTheRye'' in her first appearance.
* HeroesPreferSwords: Of the three times that Connie has jumped into the fray against a supernatural enemy, two of them ("Lion 2" and "Open Book") have her demonstrating a knack for swordsmanship. The future episode "Sworn by the Sword" is about Pearl teaching her swordfighting.
* HiddenEyes: In "Bubble Buddies", her glasses [[ScaryShinyGlasses glare over]] seconds before she has a [[HeroicBSOD breakdown]].
* IJustWantToBeSpecial: In "Lion 2: The Movie" she tells Steven she's envious of him and his powers and doesn't understand why he would hang out with someone as uninteresting as her.
* IJustWantToHaveFriends: While trapped at the bottom of the ocean, she laments to Steven how she doesn't have any friends and only her parents will miss her. Steven cheers her up by vowing to be her friend.
* ImpliedLoveInterest: She has quite a bit of ShipTease with Steven, [[ShipperOnDeck and the gems all ship the two of them]].
* InHarmsWay: Despite (or because) her parents always being concerned with her safety, Connie really enjoys going on adventures with and getting into dangerous situations with Steven. When Steven narrowly manages to shield her from an exploding robot in "Marble Madness", her reaction is positively ''ecstatic''.
-->'''Steven:''' Are you OK?\\
'''Connie:''' I love hanging out at your place!
* {{Leitmotif}}: "[[https://soundcloud.com/aivisura/steven-universe-connie-piano-demo Connie]]".
* LivingEmotionalCrutch: [[spoiler:Promises that she can be Steven's whenever he needs her to be after the events of "The Return/Jailbreak" when he tells her about how scared and upset he is concerning the Homeworld Gems and Lapis' sacrifice.]]
* LockedOutOfTheLoop: The plot of "Full Disclosure" centers on Steven not letting her into the loop about what went down in "The Return[=/=]Jailbreak". [[spoiler: It nearly ruins her friendship with Steven, but she eventually gets let in by the episode's end.]]
* MeaningfulName:
** Connie is friends with Steven ''Universe'' and her last name is Hindu for [[http://www.indiachildnames.com/mobile/name.aspx?name=Maheshwaram "Lord of the Universe."]]
** Her first name may be an English version of "Kahaani", which means "story" or "fable", and Connie seems very interested in stories.
* {{Meganekko}}: Her big, round glasses just make her more adorable. Even when her vision is fixed, she just pops out the lenses to keep the look so her family and optometrist won't know she had her vision cured through an IndirectKiss with Steven, who has [[HealingHands Healing Spit]].
* NiceGirl: Connie is respectful, brave, and a true friend to have.
* NiceHat: In the title sequence.
* OnlySaneWoman: In comparison to Steven, who's quick to act but doesn't think things through. It's Connie that gets through to Onion by simply writing "harpoon gun" instead of making a diagram like Steven, and she tries to call attention to the obvious problem of freeing themselves from Steven's shield bubble with a roller coaster.
* PuppyLove: With Steven. They have almost kissed, but are officially still just friends.
* RapunzelHair: Connie has waist-length, dark brown puffy hair.
* SmartPeopleWearGlasses: Wears oval-shaped glasses and has proven to be a BadassBookworm and OnlySaneWoman. Following the events of "An Indirect Kiss", Connie can now see normally without her glasses thanks to the healing powers in Steven's spit. However, in order not to agitate her parents and optometrist, she pops out the lenses of her glasses and puts the frames back on, only taking them off when she's around Steven's home.
* TrueBlueFemininity: She's mostly seen in blue or blue-green outfits.
* UptightLovesWild: A puppy love version. Connie's parents are very strict, overprotective and concerned over their daughter's education being the best, with little space left for imagination, even disallowing a medical TV for being too unrealistic. Steven is a energetic, jovial boy that loves to daydream, lives with sentiment rocks with superpowers who defend the planet from monsters and are very hands-off and open minded towards him.
* WingdingEyes: Connie's turn into diamonds when she's happy and excited.

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Dr. Maheswaran]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/MaryElizabethMcGlynn

Connie's mother and a medical doctor, Dr. Maheswaran is a rather strict authority figure and initially seems skeptical of her friendship with Steven, but eventually seems to warm up to him.

----
* {{Good Parent|s}}[=/=]MyBelovedSmother[=/=]AbusiveParents: Dr. Maheswaran is the more divisive of the two Maheswaran parents. She appears to be some degree of overprotective of Connie, even forbidding her from watching a medical television show for being unrealistic, and comes down ''very'' hard on her when she learns Connie lied to her about Steven's family. However, she also isn't as close-minded as Connie seems to think, as she was rather quick to form a rapport with the Crystal Gems (over their decision to harshly punish Steven).
* UnnamedParent: Her first name is yet unknown.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Mr. Maheswaran]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/CrispinFreeman

Connie's father, who likewise can be rather strict with her. He has a job as a private security guard for various beaches in and around Beach City.

----
* DrivesLikeCrazy: He is specifically terrible at driving in snow, and completely in denial about it.
* {{Good Parent|s}}[=/=]OverprotectiveDad: Like his wife, he's between the two. The way he separates Connie and Steven when they hug suggests he's ''slightly'' more on the overprotective side although he is also shown as a little less restrictive towards his daughter than his wife is.
* UnnamedParent: His first name has yet to be stated.

!!Beach City Funland
[[folder:Harold Smiley]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Sinbad

Harold Smiley, who seems perfectly willing to live up to the mood his name implies, is a Jack of All Trades. He runs the Funland amusement park, but also during his younger days, did the safety video for Big Donut (which is still in use today). He also is the Master of Ceremonies for Beach City's underground wrestling league.

----
* GloryDays: A former actor and R&B singer (though his only major credit so far is for an instructional video used to train new employees at Beach City's doughnut shop). Don't remind him about the former part.
* HairTriggerTemper: He doesn't take the damage the Crystal Gems often cause to his business very well, and always holds Steven indirectly responsible for it.
* InkSuitActor: The training video at Big Donut even has Mr Smiley with Sinbad's 80's-90's flatop.
* LargeHam: He is very expressive and even has a "job" (which he probably isn't being paid for) as a LargeHamAnnouncer.
* NewJobsAsThePlotDemands: First, he's seen working the rides at Funland. He's also the LargeHamAnnouncer for the small-town underground wrestling ring in "Beach City". Then he works at the Funland Arcade, apparently owning it and running it by himself. He used to sing educational videos back in the 80's. The list goes on.

!!Fish Stew Pizza
[[folder:Kofi]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Godfrey Danchimah

Kofi is the cranky owner of Fish Stew Pizza. He has daughters, Jenny and Kiki. His mother, Nanafua, also assists with the pizza. He doesn't care for the Gems because of all the violence and destruction their presence causes in Beach City and to his business, particularly.

----
* HisNameReallyIsBarkeep: His family's last name ''might'' be "Pizza"--Steven calls Kofi "Mr. Pizza" and the family "the Pizzas" a few times, but it's unclear if this is their actual family name or just a nickname. WordOfGod has stated Kofi and his mother [[http://ianjq.tumblr.com/post/84367436324/starheartshooter-there-no-doubt-in-my-mind-that emigrated from Ghana]], so it's possible that he legally changed his surname to something that he thought Americans would like.
* TheHyena: When he and Garnet score a point in a volleyball game, he starts laughing a lot.
* {{Jerkass}}: Seems to think of the gems as an obnoxious, reckless circus act rather than heroes and is generally antagonistic. He also forced Jenny to throw her volleyball matches with him by angrily threatening to ground her if she touched the ball.
* JerkassHasAPoint: Jerk he may be, Garnet did wreck his shop's sign then leave without so much as a word, and she never really cared about the damage she caused even toward the end of the episode.
* UnknownRival: In "Beach Party", the Gems barely even remember the restaurant they've been banned exist, nor do they care on account of not needing to eat (and Amethyst says the pizza isn't that good, anyway). Even at the end, they cannot recall what store the family owns after being unbanned.

Daughter to Kofi and sister of Kiki.

----
* BigSisterInstinct: Seems to have this a bit for Steven, at least during "Joy Ride", particularly when she [[spoiler:puts herself in harms way to protect him when the Gems mistake him for Peridot due to being in Peridot's pod at the time.]]
* BrattyTeenageDaughter: Downplayed, but it's there in her second appearance.
* EvilTwin: She actually refers to ''herself'' as one to Kiki in "Joy Ride", though it's in the FoolishSiblingResponsibleSibling context rather than literal.
* FoolishSiblingResponsibleSibling: Jenny mentions that she's always pointing out that Kiki is the nice sister of the two of them, even calling herself the "evil twin".
--> "It's like, 'don't ask me for help with your homework, I'm at some metal concert!'"
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Jenny is a chill, fun-loving teenager. Like most teens, she shirks responsibility, even at work where she sleeps on the job at family owned Fish Stew Pizza. She cares most about hanging with her "cool" friends and isn't afraid of a little danger or doing something possibly illegal. Being one of the few with access to a car, she drives her friends around town. She also is selfless, [[spoiler: standing in front of Garnet's fist right before she was about to punch the Escape Pod while Steven was trapped inside.]]
* OddNameOut: Is entirely removed from her dad and sister's name scheme.
* MsFanservice: Jenny is regularly portrayed as one of the most attractive people on the show, and wears a lot of outfits that accentuate her figure.
--> "I don't need sleep to look pretty!"
* SassyBlackWoman
* SiblingYinYang: The parting, carefree twin sister to Kiki's responsible, studying attitude.
* SimilarSquad: Quite a few fans have noticed how she and Amethyst have some very similar traits, including lip and eye shape, personality, and few fashion choices (they both seem to prefer some sort of tank top.)
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Kiki]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Reagan Gomez

Daughter of Kofi and sister of Jenny.

----
* FoolishSiblingResponsibleSibling: Kiki is always seen working at the shop while Jenny is hanging out with her friends.
* NeatFreak: Downplayed, Kiki isn't as extreme as most example, but while playing volleyball in "Beach Party", she tries to stay clean.
* NiceGirl: Holds no hard feelings for the gems destroying Fish Stew Pizza and seems to enjoy Steven's company.
* SiblingYinYang: The responsible, studying twin sister to Jenny's partying, carefree attitude.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Nanefua/Gunga]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Toks Olagundoye

Mother of Kofi, grandmother to Kiki and Jenny.

----
* BadassGrandma: Has large credit for saving the day in "Beach Party" when she commands the rest of the group while distracting the puffer-fish monster.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: In "Political Power", she [[RabbleRouser eggs on the mob]] to tip over Mayor Dewey's car and encourages them to attack him.
* CoolOldLady: Often jokes around, to the delight of her granddaughters. Her first appearance has some amazing one-liners, and ends with her leading as the Gems and the Pizzas team up to defeat a giant pufferfish.
* GoshDarnItToHeck: Upon seeing the building damage Garnet caused, Nanefua gives an understated "Cheese on bread!"
* MiniatureSeniorCitizens: She's about the same height as Steven and much shorter than her son and granddaughters.

!!The Deweys
[[folder:Mayor Bill Dewey]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Joel Hodgson

->''Look, Steven: It's not lying when you're the mayor. [[NoExceptYes It's politics.]]''

[[quoteright:149:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mayor_bill_dewey_resize_1158.png]]

Mayor Dewey holds the highest title in Beach City and is currently running (as of Season 1) for re-election. He does not seem terribly shaken by the presence of the Crystal Gems or the weirdness they bring to his town except when it might affect revenue.

----
* {{Adorkable}}: Tends to blush and stutter through his public speeches, and is a horrifically [[AmazinglyEmbarrassingParents embarrassing father]] towards Buck in his attempts to sound cool.
* BeleagueredBureaucrat: "Political Power" shows that he takes it upon himself to clean up the after-effects of most Gem-related damage that hits Beach City. It certainly explains why he seems to be so stressed.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: He isn't as mean and uptight as he was in his first few appearances, and more recent episodes show him to be rather goofy and high-strung, which could either be a case of HiddenDepths or him [[TookALevelInKindness taking a level in kindness.]]
* HeroicBSOD: Mostly played for laughs, but he breaks down sobbing and tries to refill the ocean with a hose when it disappears.
* HiddenDepths: He seems to consider government jobs essentially useless in the larger scheme of the world. However, he sees his role as mayor as someone who keeps the people of Beach City happy and content, even when things are a mess.
* IncomingHam: His arrival is often accompanied by a siren-like "May-or Dew-ey, May-or Dew-ey" from his car.
* InterspeciesRomance: Mayor Dewey has a crush on Pearl, seeing as he refers to her as "the hot one" of the Crystal Gems, and blushes and acts nervous when talking to her.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: "Political Power" shows that he does genuinely care for his constituents, despite his gruff exterior. In "The Return" he wastes no time (well, a little when he was pondering a catchy slogan) in helping the evacuation, when everyone would have expected him to become flabbergasted at the potential political fallout from it.
* MayorPain: We don't see much of his actual political actions, but his campaigning suggests he's very much an incompetent blowhard. Ultimately subverted, though, as he knows how weird and dangerous Beach City can get and is concerned about keeping people from rioting/getting hurt/not reelecting him because of it.
* MeaningfulName: His name probably comes from [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dewey_Beach,_Delaware Dewey Beach]], one of the small coastal towns in Delaware that Beach City is based on.
* ParentalNeglect: His son Buck implies he cares more about his political career than him, although Buck actually seems ''glad'' for this.
* PoliticiansKissBabies: Does so very demonstratively in "Lars and the Cool Kids".
* SmallNameBigEgo: Played with. He sees walking on the beach beneath him and chews out Greg for playing with Steven instead of washing his car. Furthermore, comforting the citizens in his mind seems to involve political schmoozing, handing out free buttons with his face on it, and making sure the townspeople seeing his Mayor Dewey mobile. On the other hand, he does seem to genuinely believe this is the method to keep the Beach City residents content and puts their happiness first. He's also cynical about attempting any actual government change and sees the comfort of the town as his true job.
* SweatDrop: [[ExaggeratedTrope Exaggerated.]] You'd be hard-pressed to find a scene where his perspiration remains invisible. Maybe it's because he's a NervousWreck. Maybe it's because he's wearing that blazer all the time in the middle of the summer. Probably both.
* TooImportantToWalk: Rides around in a car with a giant model of his head on top. [[RoadTripAcrossTheStreet Everywhere.]] Even in the sand.

[[folder:Buck Dewey]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Lamar Abrams

[[quoteright:150:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/8cd6bf4541d805bc1d75b8cb63c0d250.png]]
->'''Buck:''' Man, [my dad] [[PoliticiansKissBabies never kisses me like that.]]\\
'''Lars:''' That's rough, bro.\\
'''Buck:''' [[CommanderContrarian Not really.]] The lack of daddy kisses in my life made me who I am.

The son of the mayor. Friends with Jenny and Sour Cream.

----
* TheCobblersChildrenHaveNoShoes: His mayor father is utterly dedicated to keeping Beach City in line, and kissing babies to further his career - and in the process neglects to manage or show affection to Buck himself.
* CommanderContrarian: Most of his dialogue in "Lars and the Cool Kids" seems to serve entirely to contradict and confuse Lars.
-->'''Lars:''' Check out MY shirt!\\
'''Buck:''' Oh, that snake is nasty.\\
'''Lars:''' ...Oh, haha! Yeah, I ''hate'' snakes!\\
'''Buck:''' Oh, what? That's too bad, some snakes are pretty cool.
* CoolShades: Wears a pair of blackish-grey sunglasses.
* {{Hipster}}: In "Shirt Club", Buck actually wanted to put the "Guitar Dad" design Steven made on shirts because he thought it was ''funny'' that Steven liked his dad. Steven helps him appreciate sincerity again.
* NiceGuy: Buck is a pretty relaxed individual whose favorite activity is hanging out with his friends. He keeps an open mind and appreciates other people's points of view...most of the time.
* SimilarSquad: More than a few fans have noted how he and Garnet have some very similar traits, including personality, eyewear, lip and nose shape, laugh, and associated color.
* WellDoneSonGuy: Subverted. While Buck has a distant relationship with his dad, he credits it as making him the person he is today. That said, he shows annoyance in 'Joy Ride' that his father chastises a lot of what he does because of how it'd reflect back on him.

!!Fish & Chips
[[folder: Onion]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Zach Callison

A young boy seen around town who doesn't seem to talk to anyone but his fisherman father. He is often bored, and driven by boredom to commit acts ranging from minor vandalism to outright mayhem. Sour Cream's half-brother.
----
* AmbiguousDisorder: Onion has never spoken or vocalized beyond the gibberish he spoke to his dad and he doesn't seem to understand the pictorial diagram that Steven drew.
* AmbiguouslyHuman: According to Steven:
-->'''Steven:''' Oh no, there's lots of humans! My dad, Connie, Lars and Sadie, the mailman, Onion--I think...
* AstonishinglyAppropriateAppearance: With his chubby round body, pale skin and tufty hair, he actually looks like an onion. The one time an onion actually gets brought up in conversation, it has his face on it.
* BewareTheQuietOnes: Onion, on his own, is just a bored little kid. Give him the power of a mystical replicator though, and he will pose a challenge even to the gems, and with a totally deadpan expression. See also when he quietly stared at Mayor Dewery in "Political Power" while [[BatterUp brandishing a baseball bat]].
* CheerfulChild: He seems pretty peppy and eager to help in "Bubble Buddies."
* CreepyChild: Bordering on an EnfanteTerrible with his remorseless theft of basically anything he wants, and apparent lack of anything resembling human morals.
* EarlyBirdCameo: While his first proper appearance was Bubble Buddies, he first appeared in the opening, far in the background to the right of Connie. [[EstablishingCharacterMoment Mr. Smiley catches him trying to steal tickets.]] Even within the show proper he first made a cameo in "Laser Light Cannon".
* EatingLunchAlone: Seen doing this in "Steven's Lion."
* EdibleThemeNaming: Sour Cream and Onion. Their father is named after a fish. Fish and chips.
* GagHaircut: His hair looks like the top tuft of an onion.
* ItAmusedMe: This seems to be the actual reasoning behind nearly everything he does. "Onion Trade" shows us a day in the life of Onion. He robs a vending machine, barters for a guy's lunch, rides his moped over a bunch of ketchup packets and then ''lets it explode'', and finally trades Steven his own stolen toy for a powerful duplicator wand which he uses to rain destruction upon Beach City. All apparently because he gets bored waiting for his father.
* KarmaHoudini: Despite causing a lot of mayhem in "Onion Trade", he doesn't get any kind of punishment for it. He also seems to regularly get away with stealing from vending machines and arcade machines.
* NoBrows: Like the Gems, Onion has no eyebrows [[SuddenAnatomy except when making certain facial expressions]].
* NonStandardCharacterDesign: His appearance is rather strange even for the show's cartoony artstyle: his head is shaped like a vegetable, [[AnatomyAnomaly he has no eyebrows or ears]], and his skin is actually a very pale shade of ''yellow''. Steven casually mentions that [[AmbiguouslyHuman he's not even sure if Onion is human]].
* SilentSnarker: He sighs in annoyance/frustration in "Steven's Lion" when he thinks that Steven lied about having a pet lion.
* StickyFingers: Seen to rob from the machines at the arcade twice and snuck into Steven's house to steal his Ranger Guy figurine. He can even be seen getting caught by Mr. Smiley in the opening trying to run off with an armful of tickets.
* TheQuietOne: He seemingly only speaks to his father, and even then [[TheUnintelligible the two only make sense to each other]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Yellowtail]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Tom Scharpling

Onion's father and Sour Cream's stepdad. A fisherman by trade who spends a lot of time at sea.

----
* AllThereInTheScript: He's not referred to by name in-series; his name is only in the credits for his second appearance in "Steven and the Stevens" (he was just called "Onion's Dad" for the credits in "Onion Trade").
* EdibleThemeNaming: A yellowtail is a type of fish. His sons are named Sour Cream and Onion. Hence, fish and chips.
* FatherNeptune: He's a fisherman who's always wearing a yellow raincoat and has a full SeadogBeard.
* TheUnintelligible: While more talkative than his son, said talking is a string of murmuring gibberish. This is lampshaded when Sour Cream mimics him, producing an equally unintelligible string of "blah" which he translates to "be a fisherman".
** IntelligibleUnintelligible: Sour Cream understands him, at least.
* WhenYouComingHomeDad: His job doesn't give him much time to spend with his son.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Sour Cream]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/BrianPosehn

A mellow teenager often seen hanging around town. He's Yellowtail's step-son and Onion's half-brother.
----
* EdibleThemeNaming: Sour Cream and Onion. Their father is named after a fish. Fish and chips.
* FollowInMyFootsteps: Yellowtail wants him to be a fisherman, but Sour Cream only wants to be a DJ.
* SimilarSquad: More than few fans have noted how he and Pearl have some very similar features, including hairstyle, skin tone, eye design, body type, and associated colors.
* VocalDissonance: A noodle-skinny rave kid, with the fairly deep voice of Brian Posehn.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Vidalia]]
-->'''Voiced by:''' Jackie Buscarino

A woman who may be Sour Cream and/or Onion's mother.
----
* EdibleThemeNaming: A vidalia is a type of onion, which lends credence to her being Onion's mother.
* HardDrinkingPartyGirl: Marty implies Vidalia and her friends party pretty hard. Theories quickly popped up that she got pregnant with Sour Cream with Marty inside Greg's van while he was up on stage performing for Rose.
* TheStoic: Like Onion, she doesn't have a very large facial range.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: The other major reason to think she's Onion's mother is that she has an onion shaped head, hair the same color and similar shape, similar skin tone, and the same nose.
* TheQuietOne: Unlike Onion, she'll speak to people she doesn't know and in comprehensible words, but she still doesn't say that much. In the only episode she's appeared in so far, all she said was how she thought Greg's van was cool.

!!Beach City Post Office

[[folder:Jamie]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Eugene Cordero

Beach City's mailman, and an aspiring actor.
----
* ADayInTheLimelight: "Love Letters" is not only his first main role, but his first speaking role since "Cheeseburger Backpack."
* {{Adorkable}}: His relationship with Steven, his crush on Garnet, and his love for Shakespeare show off his more dorky tendencies.
* ChuckCunninghamSyndrome: Aside from a few crowd shots, he pretty much leaves Beach City from "Cheeseburger Backpack" until "Love Letters".
* CoolShades: Wears a pair in "Love Letters."
* HiddenDepths: He is an aspiring actor.
* LargeHam: Drops into this occasionally. He calls it "the Drama Zone."
* {{Leitmotif}}: He has his own song when he shows up, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIWFEk5cRR8 based on Steven's little song about him in "Cheeseburger Backpack."]]
* LoveAtFirstSight: Feels this for Garnet, until she snaps him out of this.
* MilkingTheGiantCow: A habit of his whenever he's really laying on the drama.
* NiceGuy: He gets along really well with Steven, even mentioning that Steven and Connie look cute when they try to take a selfie.
* PutOnABus: Literally, he left Beach City on a bus in order to head to Kansas and try to make it big as an actor.
* TheBusCameBack: In "Love Letters," he reveals that he actually did leave Beach City. He went to Kansas to become an actor.
-->'''Jamie''': [[LampshadeHanging What's up, Steven? Long time, no see.]]

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Barb]]
-->'''Voiced by:''' Kate Flannery

Sadie's mother, and Jaime's superior at the Beach City Postal Service.
----
* DotingParent: "Lion 3" has Sadie being originally uncomfortable with her insistence on always making her lunch.
* EarlyBirdCameo: Was first mentioned by Jamie all the way back in "Cheeseburger Backpack" and [[http://keepbeachcityweird.tumblr.com/post/67586435369/jobs-man the KBCW entry that coincides with "Frybo"]]. Her first physical appearance is next to Sadie in the crowd that goes to check on Steven and Greg in "The Return."
* StrongFamilyResemblance: Looks like a taller, older version of Sadie.

[[/folder]]

!!Other Characters

[[folder:Kevin]]
-->'''Voiced by:''' Andrew Kishino

One of Sour Cream's friends who appears at the rave in "Alone Together". Possibly doesn't live in Beach City.
----
* AmbiguouslyBrown: A strange example in that, judging by [[http://hilaryflorido.tumblr.com/post/108208739368/heres-hoping-kevin-was-traumatized-into this piece]] of art made by one of the crew, his skin isn't dark at all, it just seems that way because he's only been shown so far in a darkly-lit warehouse.
* EntitledToHaveYou: His attitude to Stevonnie is essentially "I'm hot and you're hot, so you ''have'' to be my girlfriend."
-->'''Kevin:''' We're angels working among garbage people. We're perfect for each other.\\
'''Stevonnie:''' How can you say that? You don't even know us!

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Marty]]
-->'''Voiced by:''' Jon Wurster

Greg's manager from when he was a [[BlatantLies celebrity musician]].
* CastingGag: Marty is voiced by Jon Wurster, a frequent collaborator of Greg's voice actor, Tom Scharpling.
* DisappearedDad: Thought to be this for Sour Cream, due to physical similarities and his intimate but short relationship with Vidalia.
* HateSink: While other unpleasant characters in the show usually show HiddenDepths at some point, Marty shows no redeeming qualities whatsoever, and seems to exist just to be hated.
* {{Hypocrite}}:
** He berates Greg for losing money by giving away stuff to a woman he likes. Marty abandoned the merchandise table in the middle of a concert to hang out with a woman in the back of Greg's van.
** Marty states that Greg is just a spaced out kid who needs Marty to point him in the right direction. About five seconds later, Marty nearly drives the van into an oncoming semi-truck, only averting the crash when Greg tells him to look where he's going.
* {{Jerkass}}: Sees women as objects, only took in Greg to make a quick buck, and is all but stated to have conned Greg out of the majority of any money he made.
* LetUsNeverSpeakOfThisAgain: In the present, Greg described him as "dead to me".
* ObviouslyEvil: Basically everything about Marty's appearance screams "creep"; he has very harsh, jagged features, including [[ScaryTeeth all-pointy teeth]] and usually sports a [[SmugSmiler shit-eating grin]].
* PointyHairedBoss: Greg's commercial failure as a musician, in spite of his obvious skill, seems to largely stem from Marty's managerial incompetence and negligence; Marty is shown to spend more time trying to pick up women than advertising Greg's concerts or selling their merchandise.
* ReallyGetsAround: A few of his comments imply he wants to spend most of his tour time sleeping around with groupies, which he seems somewhat successful at. He gives Greg advice to do the same that he thankfully shoots down.
* RememberTheNewGuy: Steven has never heard of him, despite Greg thinking that he'd mentioned him before when telling his son how he met Rose. Justified, as Greg hates the guy and likely wouldn't want to bring him up in the first place, even as an afterthought.
* ScaryTeeth: Marty's teeth are all pointy during the scene at the Beach City concert. Strangely, he has normal teeth in Greg's photo and his next scene in the van.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: He appears in two scenes with a combined screen time of about four minutes. If it weren't for him driving Greg away from touring, he would have never stayed in Beach City and Steven would have never been born.
* TheSvengali: He bosses Greg around without much concern for what his personal or artistic concerns, at the same time undermining his confidence with constant insults and taking ''75%'' of his profits.
