* FantasyCounterpartCulture: With it's classical architecture, elaborate fashion, marshy terrain, and strong artistic and intellectual traditions, Naboo is somewhat akin to Renaissance era Italy.

According to WordOfGod, the only time Padmé actually appears as Queen before TheReveal is during her meeting with Senator Palpatine, her plea before the Galactic Senate, and when [[ActuallyIAmHim Anakin asks her to say goodbye to Padmé for him when he thinks they'll never see each other again]].

* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: In spite of his cameo appearance in ''Revenge of the Sith'', he is neither seen nor alluded to in ''The Clone Wars''. WordOfGod says he retired at some point before Season 4 (in which he was succeeded by Boss Lyonie).

In canon, however, Gungans could be seen traveling among the stars nearly two-hundred years before the Battle of Naboo. For example, one member, Wet Bub, was a slicer for the Nihil and another, Thaddeus Wolk, was a hyperspace physics professor at the Carida Academy.
* AmusingAlien: They were intended as this, to judge from their speech patterns. Some Gungans living away from Naboo avert this by speaking in proper Basic, and others play up their stereotypes to [[ObfuscatingStupidity get less informed beings to underestimate them]].

* DistressedDamsel: She was captured, locked up and had her robes stolen by Clawdite bounty hunter Cato Parasitti, so she could impersonate her. She was rescued by the authorities after Padmé and Ahsoka realised the truth and apprehended Parasitti.

* MetaphoricallyTrue: She doesn't exactly lie to Anakin when she says Padmé isn't here, because in that moment Padmé is not really herself as Anakin knows her, but [[TheWomanWearingTheQueenlyMask Queen Amidala]].

In canon, he is killed after he realizes Leia is Padmé's daughter, leaving it unknown as to what he would have done with that information - but while they're parting he shakes her hand hard enough to hurt and says he'll tell the Emperor that the Organas adopted her. Breha, hearing this, is struck with terror and clearly believes he was going to turn her in.]]

Dalné is also surprised at how readily he agrees to help, which Leia notices and attributes to how rattled Panaka is about her presence.

* YouRemindMeOfX: When he meets [[SecretLegacy Leia]], he's caught off-guard by her physical appearance and apologizes, saying that she reminds him of someone. After asking about her adoption, Panaka has clearly figured out she is Padmé's daughter and tells her he'll remember her to the Emperor [[spoiler:but is assassinated minutes later before he can do anything with the information]].

Dalné is also much more comfortable and happy about the elaborate costumes royals of Naboo wear, while Leia is glad her family's royal tradition is just braids.

* PuppetKing: Sure, she's got a fancy title and lives in a nice palace, but she has no meaningful duties to perform as Queen as the Empire has taken those tasks up. And she knows she can't overstep her boundaries, as even a minor assertion that Naboo can do what it wants could be seen as an insurrection and land them in huge trouble.
