He also doubts that Kallus actually can and ''will'' go the whole way to capture him and when he ''does'', he asks if he would even go so far to gun down an unarmed man, especially one he considers a friend. * LastNameBasis: Not that this isn't common in the Empire and other similar workplaces, but considering that Kallus and Jovan have been friends for years, it's rather glaring that neither of them ever refer to the other by their first name.

* RivalTurnedEvil: Or 'rogue'. Inverted and downplayed. Jovan helping Kallus in their youth is more akin to TheAce helping those who struggled in class, but he has no problem with rubbing it in Kallus' face when Jovan goes rogue. He was still a FriendlyRival to him though, although a little bitter with his defection.
* SkunkStripe: He's a brunette, but his bangs have grey streaks.
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: His escape from the Complex is used as one of the many examples of the Lothal garrison's incompetence and used against Aresko and Grint, who [[spoiler:get the [[OffWithHisHead chop]]]] because of this bad report.

* SanitySlippage: As the situation on Ryloth worsens and Cham manipulates Dray further, he becomes very clearly mentally unhinged.

* UnwittingPawn: To Cham, who manipulated Dray for years while Dray thought he was the one doing the manipulation. His realization that Cham has always held all their cards in their arrangement begins Dray's long and very painful downfall.
* VillainousBreakdown: [[spoiler:He loses it when his and Cham's plans start coming undone in the end, going from crying to giggling to having a conversation with the corpse of the pilot he shot]].
