* VagueAge: He seems like a kid at first with how he acts, yet ''VideoGame/SpyroReignitedTrilogy'' heavily {{Ship Tease}}s him with Elora, who in turn appears to be in her late teens, like it's no big deal. Supplementary material for the first game claimed he was a teenager, which was likely abandoned long before ''Year of the Dragon'' began production and altered the lore on dragon births as such. By the time '' A Hero's Tail'' rolls around, several years have passed since his first scuffle with Gnasty.

* FootFocus: A necessary element of her character, given that she uses her feet to fight. She even says she will "lend a foot" before going into one of her levels.
* ExtremityExtremist: Fights exclusively by [[FootFocus kicking]].

* MsExposition: Explains part of the situation regarding the Forgotten Realms' lack of magic and their history with dragons after Spyro frees her.* NiceGirl: A kind, friendly kangaroo who's perfectly happy to lend a foot to anyone who needs her help. * AdaptationalNiceGuy: The ''Reignited Trilogy'' version of the first game alters his interactions from the original. Instead of coming off as cocky and rude tp the dragons he saved, he's much more playful and energetic.

** His ArcherArchetype skills, despite being an iconic part of his character at this point, were a case of this. When he debuted in ''Spyro 2'', he used his bow a grand total of ''once'' in the entire game. Later games would play up this more and more to the point his ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfSpyro'' incarnation was near full-on Robin Hood. Even the ''VideoGame/SpyroReignitedTrilogy'' would retroactively play this up, showing him carrying around a bow on him even when he doesn't need it. Considering this ended up becoming a rather iconic part of his character, this may be a case of TropesAreNotBad.

* GuestFighter: He's a "Guest Racer" in ''VideoGame/CrashTeamRacingNitroFueled''. He brings with him his own track, Spyro Circuit, and his own kart, the [[{{Thememobile}} Spyromobile]].

* BoxingEpisode: Gets into a boxing match with the Colossus yeti after Bartholomew tells him the yeti took his ball.

* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Accidentally let Ripto, Crush, and Gulp into Avalar in the first place by punching the wrong coordinates into the Professor's superportal.

* MotorMouth: A hallmark of his. His mission in Dino Mines starts with Deputy Roy having to slow him down.

** In ''The Reignited Trilogy'', Elora gets Spyro to watch the fireworks as in the original ''Year of the Dragon'' game. This time however, both end up sitting next to each other, and it wasn't just Elora who moved closer - he may not yet realize it, but it seems even Spyro is starting to feel attraction.

* HasAType: Downplayed. In the original series, it is implied that Elora has a crush on him, something that he may or may not reciprocate. In the ''Reignited Trilogy'', [[ShipTease this crush is much more noticeable with both]], and [[ChickMagnet the various]] fauns from Fracture Hills are much [[AdaptationalNiceGuy nicer]] around him. It seems that fauns make up a significant portion of his fan-club.

* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Befitting his nature as a MascotWithAttitude, he's snarky, impatient and a tad bratty, but he's still ultimately a hero who cares about doing the right thing. The "jerk" part is even more downplayed in the ''Reignited Trilogy'', to the point where he's a borderline NiceGuy.

* AccessoryWearingCartoonAnimal: Starting from ''A Hero's Tail'', he actively keeps his bow and arrows strapped to his back. This carried over into the ''Reignited Trilogy'', where he wears them in both ''Ripto's Rage!'' and ''Year of the Dragon''.

* PromotedToPlayable: Has limited playability in ''Year of the Dragon'' and is fully playable in ''A Hero's Tail''.
