** Bobby lies to Otto that the club avenged Luann's death. The AUSA Lincoln Potter uses this information to convince Otto to rat on the club, thus ensuring the RICO investigation can go through.
** The threat of RICO over the club's head leads Tara to volunteer at Stockton Penitentiary to try and convince Otto to recant his statement. He manipulates her into bringing a cross that belonged to Luann to him, which he uses to murder a nurse, thus invalidating his RICO testimony but implicating her as an accessory to murder.
** Tara then spends all of Season 6 trying to negotiate her way out of prison time while also attempting to leave Jax and the club behind. She finally makes up with Jax who agrees to take the fall for other unrelated crimes in exchange for Tara getting off the hook. Gemma, unaware of this and only informed that Jax is going to prison, confronts Tara in her home and murders her.
** This leads to the entirety of Season 7 where Jax's plan to free SAMCRO from the ruthless criminal lifestyle they'd been sucked into goes off the rails entirely in his pursuit of vengeance for Tara's death.
