* MemeticBadass: A negative, in-series version. Lina's reputation as a "walking force of destruction" precedes her in almost every country she visits. One of her many bad nicknames that particularly cheeses her off is "Dragon Spooker". It's a direct pronounciation of the shorthand for "Dragons Step Past Out Of Clear Revulsion" -- aka "Dragon SPOOCR".

* LawfulGood: It's basically what she wants to be, though her behavior in-series can sometimes seem more NeutralGood or ChaoticGood. She's also sometimes portrayed as LawfulStupid (or, more rarely, StupidGood) for laughs.

* ReplacementScrappy: He and Milina aren't reviled or anything, but when the anime and other media spawned from the novels, Amelia and Zelgadis were still regulars with Lina and Gourry, and the former two became series regulars. As a result, Luke and Milina are unknown to most foreign fans, and even in Japan they get little recognition. Their only major appearance outside the novels is as a part of a [[FiveManBand six-man party]] (and the only time where all six of them are together) in the ''Hourglass of Falces'' manga.

!!Naga the White Serpent (Princess Gracia Ul Naga Saillune)

A flaky, obnoxious, drunkard, scantily clad sorceress, Naga was Lina Inverse's first travelling partner, with whom Lina gladly parted ways before she eventually met up with Gourry Gabriev. Unbeknownst to Lina, Naga is the First Princess of Saillune and thusly Amelia's older sister. After her MissingMom was murdered by an assassin, Naga became a RebelliousPrincess, wandering the world and learning BlackMagic. She soon declared herself Lina's rival and began following her around.

* BalloonBelly: Happens on occasion in the anime, but never to particularly noticable levels... despite the fact the sheer quantity of food she can put away.

** The worst one of all to press, which basically guarantees she'll want to kill you, is to threaten or kill children around her. [[spoiler: Zuuma finds this out the hard way when he kills his son right in front of Lina, she ''utterly'' loses her temper and uses the Ragna Blade without chanting beforehand. In season 1, when Rezo turned a child to stone temporarily, she got angry enough to go willingly into Rezo's trap. In the novels, when Gaav "killed" a child in front of Lina, she made a vow to go kill the Demon Lord, when up till that point, she had been terrified of facing him at all.]]
