May December Romance requires that one member of the pairing be in the \"winter\" of life while the other is still in the \"spring.\" At 37, Woodly cannot even be considered middle-aged, and with the protagonist\'s age falling somewhere in a range from 18 to her mid-to- late 20s, they do not even approach the ~40-year age gap required by the trope.

Judging by her comments if his romance path is unlocked, even the Matchmaker herself can't make him cough up any personal information.

* LovableRogue: Hamin cheerfully thumbs his nose at rules and propriety, embracing a spirit of adventurous whimsy. Though he frequently threatens to abduct you, he also makes it fairly clear that he'd only follow through if you were a willing participant.
* {{Pirate}}: Hise is essentially a whole nation of pirates, so Hamin is a pirate captain.
* SailorsPonytail: Hamin sports a bead-adorned one to go with his general "pirate prince" aesthetic.

* ProperLady: Cordelia of Hise follows the rules of etiquette to perfection, and getting her to warm up to you enough that she'll let you see her real self through all the layers of propriety and polite reserve is a challenge. Earning enough influence with her that she'll show up to a less than strictly proper event, such as a midnight picnic, is a coup that improves your reputation as a hostess.
* RebelliousPrincess: Inverted by Cordelia. She's very much a black sheep among the nobility of Hise... because she's a ProperLady and the rest of them are ''pirates''. She's at the Summit in the hopes that it might provide an avenue into a life that better suits her.

* TheCasanova: Zarad flirts with almost anything female aside from his own relatives. He's extremely good at it, too, to the point that it's a rare and intriguing event to find a lady who's not at least a ''little'' bit swayed by his charm.
* ILoveYouBecauseICantControlYou: Prince Zarad of Corval is intrigued by a lady who won't fall for his flirtation. The best way to get the prince's attention is to challenge him and refuse to play his game.
* RapunzelHair: Prince Zarad has extremely long hair.

* TheDandy: For all of his faults, Lord Blain is a very snappy dresser.
* TheRival: Blain sees the main character as his romantic rival for Anaele's heart, especially if you act friendly with Ana (who ignores him completely).
* UpperClassTwit: Lord Blain, along with a few nameless delegates. Your character can act this way, although in Challenge Mode, it will almost certainly result in being kicked out in Week Three.

to:

* AsianAndNerdy: As an introverted genius with self-admittedly terrible social skills, Lyon falls headfirst into the trope.
* GeekyTurnOn: The way to Duke Lyon's heart is the ability to converse intelligently on arcane academic and philosophical topics.
* IntelligenceEqualsIsolation: Duke Lyon is the single most intelligent person in the game, and possibly the least socially adept. He warns you up-front in your first conversation that he doesn't expect anyone to enjoy talking to him; in a later conversation he is genuinely surprised when, having stepped away after telling him she'd be right back, the player character ''actually comes back'' rather than using the excuse to get away from him.
* RapunzelHair: Duke Lyon has extremely long hair.
* ShrinkingViolet: Duke Lyon shows signs; pursuing his romance path makes it clear that he'd like to be more able to connect with others, but stays withdrawn because he doesn't know ''how''.
* TallDarkAndHandsome: Lyon counts, although he doesn't quite fit the personality.

* {{Asexuality}}: [[spoiler:Per WordOfGod, this is the reason Lady Avalie is not available to romance.]]
* HairDecorations: Lady Avalie wears many small bells in her long hair that chime musically when she moves.
* RapunzelHair: Lady Avalie has extremely long hair.
* RavenHairIvorySkin: Dark-haired, fair-skinned Lady Avalie of Jiyel is described as one of the most beautiful women the player character has ever seen.
* SilkHidingSteel: Avalie's manners are always flawless, but she will ''eat you alive'' if you're unprepared to deal with her.
* TheSocialExpert: She's an expert at reading people and making them dance to her tune, and she's willing to attend just about any event on the grounds that it'll be interesting to observe what people do there.

* NiceGuy

to:

* NiceGuy
HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: Earl Emmett's golden blond hair perfectly matches his friendly, caring personality.
* NiceGuy: Earl Emmett of Arland is a good-natured puppy of a man, despite his noble title.
* ThePollyanna: Earl Emmett just wants to have a loving relationship and a place to call home, [[spoiler:and gives up both to serve his country]]. Despite these circumstances, he's an optimistic, adventurous and cheerful young man.

* ILoveYouBecauseICantControlYou: Prince Jarrod of Revaire isn't accustomed to being stood up to. The best way to get the prince's attention is to challenge him and refuse to play his game.
* NotGoodWithRejection: Jarrod isn't exactly used to taking "no" for an answer.
* PrinceCharmless: Jarod is rude, selfish, short-tempered and very prone to jealousy. Part of romancing him is being able to put up with all of this.
* RoyalBrat: Prince Jarrod of Revaire is an arrogant, abrasive, violent {{Jerkass}}. Without a sufficient rating in Courage, the protagonist will end up fleeing from his tantrums.

* GayOption: Although she can't marry the player character, she can form a romance with her.
* GrayEyes: In Gisette's case, they compliment her cold, calculating personality.
* IceQueen: Princess Gisette of Revaire is proud, haughty, and remote. Her profile on the official site specifically refers to her as "The Ice Queen."
* RapunzelHair: Princess Gisette's is not quite so dramatically long as some other delegates', but still falls to her hips.
* WomanScorned: Gisette does not take it lightly if you romance and dump her.

* TallDarkAndHandsome: Grand Duke Woodly counts, although he is a borderline SilverFox.

* TheJeeves: Jasper, the personal butler assigned to you for the Summit, is there to manage your schedule, run errands, assist with planning and setting up any events you decide to host, keep you apprised of relevant information, and generally in all ways assist you in your efforts to successfully navigate the Summit and achieve your goals there. He's extremely professional and very good at what he does, not to mention suspiciously well-informed.
* MysticalWhiteHair: Jasper, the primary example, is equally mysterious and very possibly OlderThanHeLooks.
* OlderThanHeLooks: Strongly implied by himself, as he mentions taking care of many delegates in the past... despite the Summits only taking place every seven years.

* GayOption: Although Ria can't marry the player character, she can form a romance with her.
* GrayEyes: Ria has gray eyes, in their sense as a mark of innocence.

* BoyishShortHair: Sayra wears her hair in a short bob cuts, complementing her {{Bifauxnen}} looks.

* BrutalHonesty: The Matchmaker pulls no punches in her analysis of your (or anyone else's) flaws and failings. How you react to her scathing criticism, and whether you rise to the occasion and improve or give up in discouragement, is just another part of the test.

to:

* CommanderContrarian: The Matchmaker plays this role to every delegate, [[BrutalHonesty ruthlessly degrading them]] in an effort to point out and hopefully improve their flaws. What sets her firmly in this camp is the fact that, no matter what, she ''always'' considers your high points to not be good enough, and she even criticizes your ''hair and eye color''.
* DrillSergeantNasty: This is basically the Matchmaker's approach to finding the eligible marriage candidates among the Summit attendees: BreakThemByTalking and see who shows enough progress in the following couple of weeks despite such abuse.
* HatesEveryoneEqually: No matter what you do, she ''will'' grind you into dust, at least initially.

Added DiffLines:

* GuileHero: Princess Katiya possessed near-mythical charisma and intelligence, which allowed her to host the first Summit successfully.
* HeartIsAnAwesomePower: Katiya is the ultimate example in the setting, since basically, the first ever Summit succeeded only because every single delegate was smitten by her and decided to put aside their differences because she asked them to.
* PosthumousCharacter: Princess Katiya, the founder of the Summit, is long since gone but her legacy still has a tangible influence over its proceedings and on international diplomacy in general.

A list of the LoadsAndLoadsOfCharacters found in ''VisualNovel/SevenKingdomsThePrincessProblem''.
----
!Main Character
The FeaturelessProtagonist of varying background, appearance, and abilities whose only static trait is being one of the female delegates at the Summit.

* ActionGirl: The Tomboy Countess background, but potentially any MC with high Self-Defense.

!Delegates
The main character's fellow delegates coming from all across the eponymous Seven Kingdoms.

!!Princess Anaele
-->Age: 19\\
Homeland: Skalt

The second daughter of the Queen of Skalt. A famed warrior, seen by many as her mother's most likely heir. She is blunt and open, making her perhaps unsuited to such events as the Summit. Prefers to be called "Ana" by the main character, with whom she falls hopeless in love at first sight.

* ActionGirl: Ana makes it abundantly clear that she prefers swords over words any day.

!!Crown Prince Lisle
-->Age: 23\\
Homeland: Wellin

The perfect prince of Welling, who has it all: looks, talent, respect and most of all, a very bright future. Still, no one really knows what's going on inside his head, since he is a very private, serious sort of person.

!!Princess Penelope
-->Age: 20\\
Homeland: Wellin

Prince Lisle's handsome younger sister is famed for being sweet and good-natured. She (along with Duke Lyon) is, perhaps, the most unsuited person to be at the Summit.

!!'Prince' Hamin
-->Age: 24\\
Homeland: Hise

The roguish Captain of the ship ''Blackwater'' is the son of Hise's current leader. Although there is no direct inheritance in Hise, by all accounts he is already on the path to surpass his father. He is impulsive, adventurous and irreverent and most importantly, an excellent captain and leader.

!!Princess Cordelia
-->Age: 22\\
Homeland: Hise

The pretty Princess of Hise and cousin to Hamin doesn't match the rest of her Hise relatives. She is proper, prim and elegant. It seems obvious she has come to the Summit in search of a better life.

!!Prince Zarad
-->Age: 23\\
Homeland: Corval

The handsome third prince of Corval is an irredeemable flirt with a reputation as caring for nothing more than fine jewels, pretty girls and aimless pleasures.

!!Lord Blain
-->Age: 26\\
Homeland: Corval

The bitter young lord of Corval is both possessive and tactless.

!!Duke Lyon
-->Age: 26\\
Homeland: Jiyel

The tall, handsome Duke is famous for being brilliant, and completely socially indifferent. He took the top score on the test for Jiyel Delegates, but he seems entirely displeased about actually being at the Summit.

* {{Adorkable}}: Duke Lyon is brilliant, socially awkward, and remarkably easy (and fun!) to tease and fluster.

!!Lady Avalie
-->Age: 21\\
Homeland: Jiyel

Lady Avalie is devastatingly beautiful, extremely intelligent, and has more going on underneath the surface than what she chooses to reveal.

!!Earl Emmett
-->Age: 19\\
Homeland: Arland

The young earl of Arland spent most of his youth traveling and being fostered around different kingdoms. Following the recent death of his father, he has returned to Arland (and is attending the Summit) to finally take up his duties. He seems a friendly, good sport, with no particular ambitions.

* NiceGuy

!!Crown Prince Jarrod
-->Age: 19\\
Homeland: Revaire

Intense and handsome, Prince Jarrod is the heir to the throne of Revaire. Still, the rumors that surround both him and his family are dark, especially in the wake of the blood coup that put his family in power twenty years ago.

!!Princess Gisette
-->Age: 22\\
Homeland: Revaire

The princess of Revaire. She has all the beauty of a masterwork sculpture, and all the warmth of the same. It would be foolish to underestimate her simply because of her ethereal looks.

!!Lord Clarmont
-->Age: 24\\
Homeland: Revaire

The handsome young lord seems different than the rest of his Revaire counterparts. Charming and considerate, occasionally he seems to hidden bite. Still, he must have some favor with the current court, or he wouldn't be at the Summit.

!Chaperones
Four adults from across the Seven Kingdoms who don't participate in the Summit directly, but instead look after all the young people running around.

!!Grand Duke Woodly
-->Age: 37\\
Homeland: Wellin

The striking and imposing Grand Duke of Wellin and a master schemer.

!!Princess Jaslen
-->Age: 39\\
Homeland: Corval

An age-defying beauty from Corval who seems more interested in gossip and fashion than diplomacy.

!!General Falon
-->Age: 42\\
Homeland: Jiyel

The uncompromising general of Jiyel who is scarily good at keeping order.

!!Dowager Countess Yvette
-->Age: 65\\
Homeland: Arland

The elderly and infirm Dowager Countess of Arland is intelligent and capable, despite her frail appearances.

!Summit Staff
The mysterious natives of the Isle of Vail.

!!Jasper
An intense and handsome island native assigned as the main character's personal butler during her stay on the Isle.

!!Ria
One of the two main character's maids, Ria is a cheerful and friendly red-head.

!!Sayra
One of the two main character's maids, Sayra is of the intelligent and taciturn sort.

!!The Matchmaker
A mysterious older woman infamous for making delegates cry, she lives on the Isle and assists in forming matches during the summit.

* StarterVillain: Kind of. She is not evil, but her function is to weed out the unsuited delegates, so she plays the main antagonistic role in the first three weeks of the Summit.

!Historical characters

!!Princess Katiya
The legendary princess who organized the first Summit centuries ago and, armed with nothing but her willpower and charisma, single-handedly brought about the Great Peace.
