The mysterious leader of the Umbrella Trashsweepers (Undertaker Unit or "UT" for short), who are also referred to as "Cleaners." He has been sent to Sheena Island by Umbrella HQ to remove evidence of Umbrella's crimes. Unlike his subordinates, he is a normal, albeit masked, and skilled human.

* AntiVillain: Despite working for [[EvilInc Umbrella]] to cover up incriminating evidence and the threat he and his unit pose to [[TheHero Ark]] and other inhabitants of the island, there is no personal or malevolent motive for it to him, he and the Cleaners are only there to clean up the mess [[BigBad Vincent]] made, and he does succeed in keeping the outbreak from spreading beyond Sheena Island.
* ArchEnemy: The final possible one, and in his case, only by virtue of coming to clean up the Sheena Island incident during the time Ark is on the island, nothing personal being between the two.
* BadassNormal: Has no powers or advantages of the B.O.W.'s and is the lone commander of the Undertaker Unit cleaning up Sheena Island. Makes it to the end of the game on the infested island, and in two of the endings likely survives the experience and succeeds in his mission entirely.
* TheBadGuyWins: In either the endings where he survives or the ending where he dies, he and his unit nonetheless accomplishes their mission of cleaning up Sheena Island for Umbrella, destroying the evidence against them and containing the outbreak.
* BondVillainStupidity: Costs him his life in one of the endings.
* EvilGloating: In the ending involving him. He takes the time to mock Ark and voice exposition [[WhyDontYaJustShootHim instead of simply shooting him]], costing him his own life when he is too distracted to notice the Tyrant coming up behind him.
* GasMaskMooks: He and all of the Cleaners wear gas masks. The Commander in particular wears some pretty sweet infra-red goggles as well.
* LargeHam: Chews the scenery apart impressively in the few seconds of screen time he gets in one ending before his death.
* LeaveNoWitnesses: He and his unit start out just going to the island to kill everyone normally. When Ark's meddling makes that more and more difficult, he sets the self-destruct to take out the island entirely, containing the outbreak.
* MookLieutenant: As leader of the Cleaners.
* NoNameGiven: He isn't identified by name.
* NoNonsenseNemesis: Averted. It looks like he will be in one of the endings during the final confrontation, he responds with a terse 'whatever' when Ark points out who he is. But instead of gunning down Ark then and there, he proceeds to start forward while engaging in some EvilGloating and BondVillainStupidity, and is himself slain by a Tyrant before he can shoot Ark.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: Only appears by voice and in one of the ending cutscenes where he is killed, but is the Commander of the Undertaker Unit that assaults Sheena Island and sets off the explosion that contains the outbreak from escaping.
* ThisCannotBe: Says it dramatically as he gets killed by a Tyrant.
* TokenHuman: The Cleaners themselves are all B.O.W. units; only the Commander is a human.
* UnknownRival: Unlike Vincent and Andy, Ark never meets the UT Commander except in one possible ending when it's time to finally escape the island, and then the Commander is impaled by the Hypnos-T.

The commander of the Sheena Island on the behalf of the Umbrella Corporation. Goldman is a cruel and heartless man responsible for creating the experimental Hypnos T-Type Tyrant model by kidnapping and torturing teenagers from around the world to extract a special brain hormone from them. He intentionally released the t-Virus on the island when the locals rebelled against him.

* AmbitionIsEvil: He is absolutely ruthless in the pursuit of personal power, having secretly murdered a number of coworkers competing with him for high-end job positions within Umbrella. Vincent has also used the t-Virus to [[KillEmAll murder almost everyone on an island]] in order to preserve his reputation within Umbrella.
* ArchEnemy: The first possible one, and considering his and Ark's history together, the most fitting.
* BadBoss: After learning that the Sheena Island locals were planning to report his mismanagement to Umbrella HQ and that a spy impersonating him was on the island, Vincent used the t-Virus to [[KillEmAll infect everyone on the island]] while [[MakeItLookLikeAnAccident making the outbreak look like an accident]]. He planned to return to Umbrella HQ and reap the rewards as the sole survivor of Sheena Island.
* EvenBadMenLoveTheirMamas: Inverted. His mother pleads with him to leave Umbrella and come back home.
* FauxAffablyEvil: He's fairly well-mannered despite being absolutely ruthless as a human being.
* KarmicDeath: In the "enter hospital" route, he is impaled and killed by one of the many Tyrants he has created.
* KlingonPromotion: He apparently did this to get up the corporate ladder.
* LackOfEmpathy: Considering that he would murder others without a second thought, it should be quite obvious he could easily advise the scientists working under him to not consider the teenagers as human beings when they conduct hormone extraction.
* NotQuiteDead: Supposed to be dead in the beginning of the game where near the end of the game, it was revealed that Ark is trying to stop him from escaping, but if you enter the hospital after the first encounter against Licker. Otherwise he's really dead, and even if he survived, the island-wide explosion make it sure that he never will.
* PosthumousCharacter: If you enter the arcade or the library after the first encounter against Licker.
* WouldHurtAChild: He has arranged the [[CruelAndUnusualDeath vivisection]] of countless teenagers in order to extract the β Hetero Nonserotonin hormones from their brains for use in the development of [[HumanWeapon the Hypnos-T Type]]. After an attempted prison break, Vincent personally executed all of the teenagers who failed to escape.

Unfortunately for Ark, he happened to pose as Vincent in front of Andy before the outbreak started, leading Andy to try to kill him.

* AntiVillain: He thinks killing Vincent Goldman is the right thing to do, which the man probably deserves for all of his atrocities. Unfortunately, the only time Andy met "Vincent" is when Ark posed as the commander, which drives Andy to hunt down Ark.
* ArchEnemy: The second possible one.
* BaldOfEvil: He looks like a gnarled little troll.
* DirtyCoward
* TheHermit: He spent most of his time working underground and was largely ignorant of Umbrella's activities, despite traditionally classified information about Umbrella being more or less public knowledge on Sheena Island.
* ReformedCriminal: Before he was taken in by Umbrella, Andy resorted to robbery to survive.

By the time he's fully fighting Bruce and Ling, he's all but hunting them down to explicitly murder them like an elegant {{stalker|WithoutACrush}}, and it's pretty clear that once his plans started falling apart he went super unhinged.
* BadassLongcoat: Though his most impressive feats come after he ditches it.
* BarrierWarrior: His bio-electric abilities generate a force field of sorts which deflects bullets, [[ImmuneToBullets rendering them unable to harm him]]. Only a weapon capable of shorting out the bio-electricity can injure him.
* BodyHorror: In his transformed state, his spine can be seen emerging from his back in rather bloody fashion. Also, considering that the transformation more or less crudely inverts his gender in the process, that in itself does not hold any good implications about his anatomy.
* CutsceneIncompetence: In the fights against Bruce, he shows himself to be an out-and-out LightningBruiser, but when he chases Bruce and Fong Ling at the end of their first fight with him, he runs only as fast as they’re going.
* DudeLooksLikeALady: After injecting himself with the t+G-Virus, he gains a noticeably feminine figure complete with prominent hips and even visible breasts. However, the subject of his sex changing never comes up with any of the characters.
* EmergencyTransformation: At the beginning of the story, he was mortally wounded by a grenade thrown by Fong Ling. Later, Morpheus injected himself with the stolen t+G-Virus sample in an effort to heal himself and gain revenge on Bruce and Fong Ling.

* InTheirOwnImage: His ultimate goal was to create a world based on his own ideal of beauty and elegance. In order do this, Morpheus wanted to destroy the world as it is now, which he saw as cold, ugly and [[ItIsBeyondSaving unworthy of saving]].
* ItCanThink: One of the more terrifying things about Duvall is the fact that, unlike William Birkin, he's very much in control of his thought processes after mutating.
* LongHairedPrettyBoy: Long hair? Check. Pretty? Check. A guy? [[AttractiveBentGender Um...kind of]].
* MadeOfIron: Takes a grenade explosion near point-blank head on, and gets back up minutes later to make sure Bruce and Ling die for it. Though in this case he's DentedIron, as the wounds were still fatal enough that he had to take his own t+G-Virus sample and become a Tyrant to hope to survive.
* MistreatmentInducedBetrayal: After being fired, Morpheus was determined to gain revenge on the Umbrella Corporation. With the help of a gang of loyal followers, he stole several t-Virus samples and a t+G-Virus sample from Umbrella's Paris laboratory and constructed an underground missile silo beneath an abandoned Umbrella facility. After these preparations, Morpheus caused a t-Virus outbreak aboard an Umbrella-owned cruise liner and publicly declared that he had missiles equipped with the t-Virus aimed at both China and the U.S.A., threatening to launch them unless a ransom of five million US dollars from each country is paid.

* OhCrap: Ling drops a live grenade down by Bruce and Morpheus. Bruce sees it and runs for distance despite the gun at his head. Morpheus sees Bruce seeing it, wonders if he's being duped, then sees the grenade himself -- and just turns right back to Bruce looking like he just shit his pants in terror at what's about to happen.
* OneWingedAngel: He undergoes this twice in the story, first mutating into the female Tyrant form that he stays in for most of the time. Toward the end, he undergoes a second transformation that is ''much'' less pretty on the eyes, going from an easy on the eyes MonsterGirl to an [[HumanoidAbomination obese, crawling, flipped on its back monstrosity with a seemingly skinless human face]].
* PayEvilUntoEvil: The sheer spite Morpheus had for Umbrella led to him stealing their research and promptly wiping out one of their cruise liners. A ship that was basically filled with executives and big spenders. One petty man that would've gone under their radar wiped out the top brass of the company in the midst of the lawsuits that Umbrella was facing from every corner, making Morpheus a strong case of {{irony}} in probably being one of the major deathblows to Umbrella once and for all.
* TheScapegoat: The Umbrella Corporation used him as a scapegoat for the 1998 Mansion Incident and fired him on the grounds of "gross negligence".
* SheFu: After his transformation, Morpheus does a ''lot'' of graceful cartwheeling and kicking when battling the heroes.
* ShockAndAwe: Somehow, as a result of the cocktail of the t- and G-viruses he injected himself with.[[note]]This is explained by supplemental material. The t-Virus generates electrical energy by destroying cells - enough energy to reanimate corpses into zombies and to make certain organ systems redundant; however, it also uses the host's own cells as "fuel" for the reanimation, leading to rot. The G-Virus both improves this ability to the point that the host can produce electricity by destroying its own cells; and provides the HealingFactor necessary to counteract the cellular damage.[[/note]]
* SmallRoleBigImpact: When you look at the game series as a whole, anyway. Though he only appears in a seemingly minor and unimportant spinoff game, him killing or transforming the high rollers who were set to bid on Umbrella's bioweapons is heavily implied to have ended up depriving the company of funds it desperately needed, leading to its dissolution. For want of a warchest, the business was lost...
