The PlayerCharacter. A shy, but imaginative young child, determined to bring the colors back to the World of Imagination.

* ActualPacifist: Billy never raises a hand against their opponents in battle, instead talking to them in order to understand their pain and how best to free them from their curse. The closest they come to being violent is letting their party members perform attacks to recolor the enemy.
* AllLovingHero: Billy's compassion for others is their greatest strength. Through it, they're able to relate to the people suffering from the Leviathan's curse andf figure out ways to give them their colors back.
* EvenTheLovingHeroHasHatedOnes:
** While "hate" is a strong word, Billy isn't very fond of the Shopkeeper, due to his sleazy profit-focused nature. Though in their diary, they do admit that they admire the Shopkeeper's tenacity in keeping his business afloat.
** Understandably, Billy isn't too fond of the Leviathan, describing him as "the biggest jerk" in their diary entry about him.
* MrImagination: Billy is repeatedly stated to be one of the most, if not ''the'' most, creative people in the World of Imagination. [[spoiler: In fact, the entire game takes place in their fantasy world, dreamed up to deal with their father's attempt to force them to grow up.
* NiceGuy: Billy doesn't have a mean bone in their body and is always willing to help others out.
* ShrinkingViolet: Billy is so shy, that most of the time they leave the talking to Rodrigo or any other available friend.

A Punching Rod who joins Billy in their quest to save the World. He's a tad rude and easy to anger, but has his heart in the right place.

* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He can be sort of insensitive and isn't all that well-mannered but he's not a bad guy by any means.

A living steamboat who ferries Billy through the World of Imagination's oceans.

* LivingShip: She's a living steamboat with big, cartoony eyes.
* TeamMom: She's always caring and kind toward her passengers, making sure they're comfortable by creating specialized habitats for them and encouraging them to tackle their problems head-on while offering support for when they do.
* VerbalTic: Friend-Ship has a tendency to toot her horn at the end of each sentence.
