!! The Prince

In each game, the daughter can romance guys of royal origins. At times the Prince is the local one, at others he is the Prince of another kingdom. Sometimes there's ''more'' than one Prince around!

In the second game, the avaliable (and better known) prince is from the game's kingdom, generally only available during specific moments in the game and often presenting himself as a regular civilian, with a minor connection to the castle, if that at all.

In the third game, the girl can marry either the local prince, a Mole Prince, or a Rabbit Prince.

In the fifth game, there are two princes. One is named Aspar, the other is named Roshe.

** The Prince in the third game often shows up to talk to the daughter while she's working as a maid. She doesn't recognise him, and gossips with him about how she wants to marry the prince, who must be very handsome.

* MagicDuel: The daughter and Wendy (the Magic rival)'s showdown. Subverted as some fighting classes are also required to beat her, not only magical power.

* SpoiledBrat:
** Patricia is notably the only rival who doesn't have a part-time job (Anita works at the weaponry store, Wendy at the pawn shop and Marthia at the restaurant), so she's implied to be wealthy enough to afford the very expensive painting and dancing classes.
** Anita accuses the Daughter of being one in her challenge, claiming that she only got her proto-fame as a fighter from her Daddy's reputation as the Hero who saved the Kingdom. The Daughter, logically, denies this gets ''very'' angry.
* TomboyishVoice: Averted with Anita, whose voice has a very high and girlish pitch.

!!The Townspeople (Deginzi, Dimitri, Ko, etc.) and their places

Since the Father's spending money is very limited and geared to mantain the house in general, the Daughter will need to get part-time jobs from these people from the very start of the game. They're usually more stressful than classes, and reduce some of her stats/skills in exchange of others. The older she gets, the more potential employers will be avaliable; plus if she works long enough at one job, her pay will be raised and she may get the chance to take it up as her permanent job.

* ChattyHairdresser: Averted with Sara, since there's no evidence of her being chatty at all. She seems to be more MarriedToTheJob than anything.
* CreepyCemetery: Baran the Gravekeeper handles one of these, and he can hire the Daughter to help him working there. [[spoiler: If she has good enough Fighting/Magic skills, a Skeleton Knight will challenge her and she'll have to defeat him, which will net her at least 2.000 gold.]]

!!The Teachers (Comstock, Carl Fox, Barcelo, Sister Lee, Leftor, Filkins, etc.)

* DrunkenMaster: Leftor is seen taking chugs from a bottle as he instructs the Daughter and other kids at his school.
* FlatEarthAtheist: Barcelo believes only in science and knowledge, and doesn't think highly of religion. This even affects the gameplay, since the Science classes (from the second level on) drain the Daughter of Faith and Magical Defense.
* HandicappedBadass: Carl Fox is blind, while Leftor lacks an eye and an arm. Neither stops fighting and teaching because of that, however.

* GateGuardian: The Young Dragon guards the entrance to the Desert Ruins. The Daughter can either defeat him to gain infinite access, or constantly pay a fee.
* GracefulLoser: If the Father refuses to set up the ArrangedMarriage, the Young Dragon reacts quite awkwardly (and a bit tearfully), but ultimately tells the girl
that he wishes her well. This offers quite the contrast with [[LoveHurts his VERY heartbroken reaction]] if she passes up their engagement to marry the Prince.
* InterspeciesRomance: The Daughter lampshades how
she's devoted a human and the Young Dragon is, well, a dragon. The youngster replies that as long as there's love, species doesn't matter. The game begs to differ a little, though, as if the player pairs them up, the surprised and pouty Daughter loses some Morality (for an ''arranged'' deal that was suddenly sprung up on her); while they don't fully condone it, her guardian god will comment on it by raising their respectic Reputacion, either by studing or working.but will handwave it with "Love is blind, after all".

!!The Travelling Salesman/Chinese Orc

Three times in the game (when the Father has 1000, 2000 and 5000 gold), Cube will announce that a travelling salesman has arrived at the house and is offering expensive and mysterious exotic wares. Said wares are very expensive, but might be ''very'' good if the player chooses the right ones and gives them a good use.

Added DiffLines:

* KickTheDog: It's all but stated that [[spoiler: he killed the Unicorn's friend to get its horn.]] He might have also [[spoiler:stolen the Spring Spirit's egg to use as a ring's jewel (consequently putting her oasis at danger)]], but it's not as clear.

-->'''Voiced by''': Fumie Kusachi (Marthia), Creator/FujikoTakimoto (Anita), Creator/ChiemiChiba (Wendy), Miyuki Matsushita (Patricia) (''PM 2'')

Either of these teenage girls shows up when the Daughter turns 14 and issues a challenge to her for the next Harvest Festival. Anita and Wendy want to beat her at Fighting or Magic, Patricia wants to be more popular than her by winning the Dancing Contest, and Marthia prefers to challenge her at the Cooking Festival.

* AlphaBitch: Patricia, the Social/Dancing rival, is a pretentious SpoiledBrat who wants to be more popular than the Daughter.
* AmbiguouslyBrown: Anita has noticeably darker skin than the other three girls, probably from constantly training to hone her fighting skills.
* ArrogantKungFuGuy: Anita, in a nutshell. She's a tough-as-nails ActionGirl who is very, ''very'' proud of her fighting skills and looks down on the Daughter a lot.
* CookingDuel: Marthia and the Daughter's showdown is basically this.
* DubNameChange: Marthia's name is sometimes spelled "Marcia" in ''Refine''.
* InsistentTerminology: The Magic Rival Wendy wants to be referred to as a ''Magical Girl'', thanks.
* ItsPersonal: When the Rival Girl of choice shows up after the Daughter's birthday and issues her challenge, the Daughter will take it as SeriousBusiness and her current Stress will go poof. Conversely, if the Festival arrives and the Father decides to send her to ''another'' contest rather than the one the Daughter was challenged to, she'll get depressed and her Stress will raise.
* JerkAss: The Social Rival Patricia and the Fighting Rival Anita are super arrogant and snooty.
* JerkassHasAPoint: If the Daughter wins the Dancing Contest when she's friends with the Minister, who doubles as the Dancing Judge, Patricia will wonder if the contest was fair at all. She might be right if the Daughter has low stats for the duel, but has such high favor with the Minister that she still wins anyway.
* MagicDuel: The daughter and Wendy (the Magic rival)'s showdown. Subverted as some fighting classes are also required to beat her, not only magical power.
* NoblewomansLaugh: As the local AlphaBitch, Patricia has a truly epic one.
* RelationshipValues: Sorta, since the Daughter's highest of her four prospect Reputations determines which girl will be her rival. i.e, to get Anita she must have Fighting Rep as the strongest one, a Daughter with high Social rep will clash with Patricia, and so on.
* ShrinkingViolet: The Housework/Cooking Rival, Marthia, is a very shy girl with a low self-esteem. Some players may feel like they're kicking a puppy if they have the Daughter win against her.
* SpoiledBrat:
* TookALevelInBadass:
** Anita and Wendy's stats ''will'' raise each year, so the Daughter may find herself in quite the predicament if she slacks off in fighting or magic.
** Patricia will also become a better dancer as time passes. If the Daughter is underprepared in the dancing fields, not even the Minister's favor may be able to help her.

----

* ApronMatron: Radamia the Nursemaid and Sara the Hairdresser dress and act like these.
* CuteKitten: A kitty hangs out with Radamia the daycare worker and the kids that hang out in the daycare.
* DirtyOldMan: Baron Tellmark owns the local Cabaret, and the Daughter can work there as a Cigarette Girl. If she does well-enough, she'll switch to a Dancer.
* GoodShepherd: Sister Lee is a kind and polite nun who runs the local Church. If a Daughter has accumulated quite a bit of Sin, donating to her temple or working for a while under her care will "cleanse" her.
* LocalHangout: Several of the Daughter's bosses handle these places, i.e the Bartender Dimitri (the only one who can raise the girl's Conversation/Speech) or Sam the owner of the Sleazy Bar.
* NiceGirl: Sister Lee again. Unlike other bosses/teachers who scold the player for not working/studying enough, she expresses concern and tells your daughter to take it easy.
* ParentalSubstitute: As the owner of a local daycare center, Radamia is this for the kids she watches over. Working under her will raise the Daughter's sensitivity ''and'' her maternal instinct.

!!The Teachers (Comstock, Carl Fox, Barcelo, Sister Lee, Leftor, Filkins, etc.)

These people give courses that the player pay money for to give the Daughter better stats/skills. They're not very stressful, usually raise stats and skills very fast, and sometimes give her items that she ''will'' need for later. They cost a lot of money, though...

----

* CoolOldGuy: Aside of the General (who teaches Strategy), both Bartholomew (Manners teacher) and Comstock (Poetry teacher) are rather sweet old men. The Writer ending has Comstock happily encouraging the Daughter to take this path.
* MellowFellow: Bartholomew, the manners teacher, is a humble, soft-speaking old man who always has a smile on his face.

!!The Other Fighters (Massal Halbar, Chan Kowloon, Jennifer the Queen, etc.)

All of these people show up at the Harvest Festival to participate in the Combat Contest alongside the Daughter, the fighting teachers Carl Fox and Leftor, and the rivals Anita and Wendy (if they're the Daughter's rival). Sometimes, however, they'll challenge the Daughter in the streets or try to take away the banner of Leftor's Fighting School. As a plus, the women in the list will also attend the Dance Party.

----

* ActionGirl: There are several women that can challenge the Daughter to fights: [[StripperIffic Natasha Dripsikova]], [[LadyInRed Jennifer the Queen]], [[AnimeChineseGirl Tao Lianfang]], [[RichBitch Francoise More]], etc.
* ContraltoOfDanger: Natasha is a very physical fighter and has the deepest voice out of all the {{action girl}}s that can challenge the Daughter.
* HornyVikings: Massal Halbar is a pirate leader and he dresses/fights like a stereotypical Viking.
* HotBlooded: Horst Heinmann is a very young knight who pretty much shouts when he shows up at the ring.
* IWasBeatenByAGirl: Near every guy (and some girls) that the Daughter defeats says this.
* MagicKnight: Salam Nasir fights with both his scimitar and his spells.
* {{Samurai}}: Katana Terror [[SamuraiPonytail looks]] and [[IaijutsuPractitioner fights]] like one.
* WeaponOfChoice: ''Several'' ones: [[HeroesPreferSwords simple swords]] (Horst, Francoise, Leftor, etc.), [[AnAxeToGrind axes]] (Massal Halbar), [[BladeOnAStick lances]] (Damu-Damu), [[WhipItGood whips]] (Jennifer), [[CombatHandFan throwing fans]] (Lianfang), [[CarryABigStick maces]] (Natasha), [[KatanasAreJustBetter katanas]] ([[MeaningfulName Katana Terror]]), etc.

!!The Spirits (Domovoi, Valtria, Paimon, Fay)
When the Daughter takes enough classes or jobs that increase their representing Reputation stats, she'll be visited by one of the four Spirits who would bless her and boost one of her stats per visit. Domovoi appears if she especializes in housemaking, Valtria visits if she's a rising fighter, Paimon blesses her social life and Fay gifts her with magic.

----

* AmplifierArtifact: Fay's last gift to the Daughter is a magical ring that gives her unlimited [=MP=], as long as she has 10 Intelligence points at minimum.
* DubNameChange: Valtria is known as Valkria in the ''Refine'' version.
* GenkiGirl: Fay is a cheerful woman who talks in a high-pitched sugary voice and consideres herself a CoolBigSis to those that study magic.
* HardWorkHardlyWorks: Averted.
** They came to increase a specific stat related to their area of expertise only if the Daughter has proven that she's devoted to it by raising their respectic Reputacion, either by studing or working.
** If the Daughter take a whole month of Magic class, Fay will visit regardless of Magical Reputacion and will increase a magic stat ''of the player's choice''.
* HouseFey: Domovoi is based in [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domovoi a Russian house fey]] that helps people that leave snacks for them with their chores.
* PassingTheTorch: Valkria's last gift to the Daughter is her very own sword, and she declares the Daughter is her "encarnation".
* OrgasmicallyDelicious: Domovoi's last gift to the Daughter is a bag of magic flour that makes every dish she cooks delicious.
* OurDemonsAreDifferent: Unlike other demons in the game, Paimon is a gentleman and even encourages the Daughter to don't be afraid of him, as he likes successful people and those that strive for that success in society. Justified in the Japanese version, where he refers himself as a "maijin" (a type of genie) instead of "akuma" (demon).
* SmellsSexy: Paimon's last gift to the Daughter is a perfume that attracts suitors likes flies to honey.
* {{Valkyries}}: The spirit who blesses fighters.

!!Adventure characters (The Elf, the Fairies, the Mermaid, etc.)

The Daughter can go into aventures in four places: the Eastern Forest, the Southern Lakes, the Northern Glaciers and the Western Desert. Aside of the aforementioned Dragons, she will meet different mythical creatures if she carries the correct items. Plus, she may meet some more either as enemies or outside these dangerous spots...

The role the player slips into. Most of the games use the background of having been a soldier that came to the help of the kingdom in their latest war, and became the Hero for having played a significant role in ending it. This earns them the favor of the king, who grans them a house to live in after sustaining injuries that leave them unable to continue battling.\\

He'll notice the pendant and ask her for it: he'll offer a magic spell that will raise her stats in exchange at first, if refused he'll offer some money, and if she keeps refusing he'll fight her. Taking up the offer is the best option: he'll use his "Cirche's Charm" spell to raise the girl's Magic Attack, Glamour ''and¿¿ Refinement (though at the expense of dropping her Morals to ''zero'', so it's best to include some Church work in her agenda soon).

May December Romance counts only when the age difference between lovers is REALLY big. Plus the combination of looks and voice suggest that the Prince is *as much* 13-14 when she's 10.

* MayDecemberRomance: Downplayed in ''PM 2''. Judging by his voice and [[spoiler:chosen job]], the prince is already a older teen when 10-years-old Olive meets him. Meaning he's around 6 to 8 years older than her.

* VocalDissonance: In ''PM 2 Refine'' the Prince sounds like an older teen ever since the start, despite being just a little older than the 10-year-old Daughter when they meet.
