* MyGreatestFailure: A certain Celine rallied Karen, Damien, Alexandra, Adam and Ryland to train hard in order to prevent something, implied to be Team Xen's invasion and destruction of Alamissa Urben. They failed, and Karen was so upset by this that she tried to make a Crest to help her become stronger... [[DownerEnding Yeah, that didn't work.]]

* DarkAndTroubledPast: Was abused by his grandfather, stole from people, joined gangs, has apparently been on the receiving end of ransom demands before...

When V starts to lay out exactly what they want from them, Dylan shuts the video off and tells Ana not to continue watching, because they don't have to do anything V says and ransom demands are designed to make the people who get them feel bad and make the wrong decisions.

* ParentalNeglect: Erin says he was never abusive to her, but he was always distant with her. [[spoiler:Later, he battles the player knowing that he'll have to depart soon afterwards, but doesn't bother to say goodbye to, leave a message for or get the player to pass a message on to Erin, his adopted granddaughter. She's not amused.]]

* TooDumbToLive: After finding Talon turned to stone, discovering that he'd been lured out late at night with the promise of a date, and receiving a similar communication, she... sneaks out late at night without telling anyone where she was going. [[spoiler: The only reason she doesn't get turned to stone is because Lorna decided to use her as a messenger.]]

* WeUsedToBeFriends: With Adam, who noped out after being frustrated by Damien's lust for revenge. They've made up in Chapter 15.

* WhatTheHellHero: Tesla is unconditionally kind and supportive of the protagonist, offering them a place to stay and [[spoiler:and a surrogate mother to support them in light of the loss of theirs,]] without ever getting upset or short with you the way just about after other central character does at least once or twice. Because of this, the game counts having a negative relationship with her as four times worse than any of the other major characters when tallying up values for the Renegade Route.
