Sheridan Village's Fighting-type Gym Leader and Aelita's father.
----
* AbusiveParents: He was very cold and aggressive to Aelita later in his life, and she couldn't tell anyone she was his daughter. [[spoiler: He did so because after being blackmailed to kill all of Sheridan to save Aelita's life, he couldn't handle life anymore and had his emotions separated from himself, which made them form a separate person]].
* BadassFamily: [[spoiler:He's related to Amber and Tesla by his brother, Deagan, who was Amber's father]]. And Aelita and Taelia are/were both skilled trainers in their own right.
* TheChewToy: A mysterious woman [[spoiler: completely fucked him over, repeatedly screwing with his mind to make him believe things that weren't true. His entire relationship with Taelia was apparently based on said woman manipulating him, to start with. He had to watch his wife die, was mindfucked to believe that she always blamed him for it, and after that was blackmailed into joining Team Xen and sacrificing everyone in Sheridan village so Aelita wouldn't be killed.]]
* EmotionSuppression: He did it to himself. [[spoiler: You later reverse that - to a degree.]]
* FutureBadass: [[spoiler: He's part of the resistance in the BadFuture]].
* GoodParents: He was initially this to Aelita [[spoiler:and Nora]]. Due to the TraumaCongaLine of his life deciding to screw him over [[YankTheDogsChain one last time]], though, this changes to him becoming cold and somewhat abusive.
* HeroOfAnotherStory: He’s the main protagonist of the side game Where love lies.
* HeroicSacrifice: He saves you from Madelis's [[spoiler:Shadow Mewtwo at the cost of his life.]]
* HeelFaceTurn: He used to be part of Team Xen. He didn't join willingly, though.
* IAmNotLeftHanded: From what we see of him during ''Where Love Lies'', he wasn't taking you even ''remotely'' seriously during your gym match with him. Or during your fight with [[spoiler:his Revenant. His main team, seen in the Doomed Timeline, is composed of multiple types and in the mid to high ''70s'']].
* KickTheDog: Neved tried to reach out to him and reassure him when he was in Team Xen. In return, Keta flatly told him that Neved wasn't going to save his daughter and that she was as good as dead. Neved vowed to hurt Keta as much as he could afterwards.
* MeaningfulRename: Renamed himself after joining Team Xen. [[spoiler:Ke-Ta is made up of the first two letters of both his and Taelia's names]].
* NotSoStoic: Whenever Aelita's in danger, even his stoic "physical" self can't stay totally calm.
* OlderThanTheyLook: He's 44 years old, compared to the younger looks of his sprites and images.
* OurGhostsAreDifferent: [[spoiler:His spirit, appearing in the form of an ethereal butterfly at first, can be challenged once a day in a special encounter with a much stronger team for valuable items from version 13.5 on.]]
* ParentsAsPeople: He wasn't very good to Aelita during the last part of his life, but he had his reasons. [[spoiler:And technically, he wasn't her father.]]
* PlayerCharacter: He's the protagonist of the "Where Love Lies" side episode.
* SignatureMon: His Shiny Lucario, who has been by his side since before he arrived in Aevium.
* TraumaCongaLine: Jesus Christ, where do we start? [[spoiler: He was given the ultimatum to kill his wife or watch those he loved die. When he refused, his mother was murdered (maybe before he even got the letter itself), the fire in Gearen was started to kill his friends and their children, and the Wispy Tower was burned down to kill the children of Sheridan Village. His wife and child were murdered, and his mind was fucked with to make him believe that Taelia always blamed him for it. Then, years afterward when he thought he'd come to terms with it, he begins having apparitions of Taelia and Nora blaming him for their deaths. He's told the cure might be fixing things with his brother, but once he does that, his brother dies to save his life. And then not only are the apparitions not cured, he's found by Team Xen, who blackmail him into letting everyone in Sheridan die so Aelita won't be killed. And then he runs into the Red-Haired ??? woman below, who tells him she engineered a lot of his life and was probably responsible for said hallucinations, and after that she gets away scot free due to TimeTravel.]] Is it any wonder the poor bastard had his emotions suppressed after all that?
* UnfinishedBusiness: [[spoiler:Prior to versions 13.5, his ghost won't pass on until you beat him,]] so you can get his Badge from him after all. [[spoiler:Afterward, his badge is left with Aelita instead, and his spirit can be rematched once a day for shards and a black prism.]]
* UsedToBeASweetKid: He started out as a friendly guy who wanted to help as many people as possible, but time wore him down and turned him into the cold, emotionless Keta (though the EmotionSuppression was the main cause of that). His "specter"/ghost is still friendly, though.

!!Texen [[spoiler:Burnett]]
[[quoteright:256:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/58031c72_36cc_40c8_9c91_fc5c44ea0a3c.png]]
A student of Axis High University and [[spoiler:the replacement Sensei and Gym Leader for Sheridan Village]].
----
* ArrogantKungFuGuy: He may not care too much about his position, but he's nevertheless skilled enough at battling to become a Gym Leader, purely to satiate his own ego.
* BerserkButton: Bringing up his famous sister.
* ButtMonkey: Whenever he's on screen, it's for one of two reasons: to be an obstructive douche, or to be ridiculed.
* FisherKing: His constant obnoxious partying completely clashes with the lifestyles of Sheridan's residents, and [[spoiler:by the time Aelita returns to take back the Sensei position, the village is dying off, as Texen's utter indifference to actually leading the village has nearly driven the residents to abandon it entirely.]]
* HateSink: He is the epitome of the spoiled frat boy archetype. A jerk, pervert and narcissist, he cares nothing about those who aren’t him. In Version 2, his mugshot was even called “Vs Asshole”. [[spoiler: Paragon .Karma files cast him in a slightly more sympathetic light, implying that his constant humiliations and the death of his sister, who drove him to become this way in the first place, have sent him into a pretty bad place. He's still a dick, but it's pretty clear he genuinely doesn't know what to do except cling to whatever pride he has left.]]
* HiddenDepths: [[spoiler:Aelita figures out that he accepted the job of Sensei because he was sick of being overshadowed by his sisters.]]
** [[spoiler:Also, it's stated that Texen's mental strength is far greater than it appears to be, to the point that Aelita had to hit his BerserkButton in order to get an opening]].
* ItsAllAboutMe: He throws a shit-fit when things don't go his way, and shows absolutely no respect for Sheridan's culture in favor of using his position to inflate his own ego.
* JerkAss: He's a straight up asshole.
* LifeOfTheParty: He throws a lot of parties.
* SignatureMon: His Infernape.
* SmallNameBigEgo: Texen and the girls he parties with sure think he's hot shit, but it's implied he's virtually an unknown in the greater region itself, especially compared to his superstar sister.
* StrawMisogynist: He's an insecure, womanizing frat boy who calls himself "alpha" and constantly talks down to the women around him. Given how many badass women populate the game, he's humiliated for it pretty often.
--> TEXEN: Don't fall for their tricks, bro. They're always trying to dominate us. That's what Andreas Tay taught me!
* WalkingSpoiler: He's not very important, but it's hard to talk about him without spoiling that he [[spoiler:replaces the now-dead Keta as Sheridan's Leader.]]

[[folder:Narcissa]]
!!Narcissa [[spoiler:Altair]]
[[quoteright:256:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/70dec646_3bb5_4dfa_bbd1_832b6e5629cc.png]]
Goldenleaf Town's Ghost-type Gym Leader, and the leader of Goldenleaf Town. [[spoiler:She is also Celesia Altair’s twin.]]
----
* AmnesiacHero: She and [[spoiler:her younger self]] cannot remember their childhood- in the latter's case, she got severe headaches whenever she tried. [[spoiler:This is due to her having taken pills to forget her sister and the traumatic events associated with her.]]
* TheChainsOfCommanding: Tells Aelita that she may be the leader, but she's not a dictator- she can't just order the town to do something and expect them to do it, so they need to find a way to convince everyone if they want actual change to happen.
* ColorMotifs: Purple.
* FishOutOfTemporalWater: One of the sidequests of West Gearen ends with [[spoiler:Dufaux switching past Narcissa with present Narcissa.]]
* HiddenDepths: At first glance, she looks to be a xenophobe like everyone else in Goldenleaf Town. In truth, she's sick of keeping it up and just wants the town to welcome people again, which is notable because her husband was one of the casualties of the Wispy Tower burning down.
* KickingAssInAllHerFinery: And she actually manage too give a beating to [[spoiler: '''Giratina''']] of all things.
* MeaningfulName: Lampshaded by Mosely, yet subverted when it turns out she's nowhere near as arrogant as she seems, regretting her past mistakes and admitting she can only do so much on her own.
* ShedTheFamilyName: At the end of her quest, [[spoiler:she renounces the Altair name due to the family’s corrupt dealings and placement of their name and reputation above their children’s well-being.]]
* SignatureMon: Storywise, it's her Chandelure, which was a gift from her husband and replaced a Chandelure that previously died [[spoiler: and was strong enough to counter Dufaux. Later, said Chandelure was turned into a Dimensional Rift Pokémon without Narcissa's knowledge.]] In gameplay terms, her strongest Pokémon is a Dusclops.
* SoulPower: She is the Ghost gym leader, after all.
* StableTimeLoop: [[spoiler:How the quest with her fighting Dufaux alongside you and her younger self ends. Her younger self takes the last dose of a memory-suppressing drug to ensure that the time stream isn't thrown out of whack, so that all the things she's learned about the future will come to pass]].
* ThisCannotBe: Her reaction to finding out that her husband was keeping a ''really'' big secret from her: [[spoiler: Namely, he had Giratina imprisoned under the Wispy Tower and was trying to use its power to make a new world.]]
** [[spoiler:Later on, she admits that she had come to realize that he never loved her, when she talks to you and said younger self about what you found in the labs under Wispy Tower]].

Kakori Village's Bug-type Gym Leader.
----
* BigCreepyCrawlies: As the Bug-type Leader.
* BigGood: As the leader of the Rangers, he's basically the guy in charge of keeping Terajuma Island safe and orderly.
* BlindSeer: He is technically blind, but using his Bug-type Pokémon he can "see" through their eyes.
* HiddenDepths: He works for the same organisation as [[spoiler: Looker and Anabel.]]
* IOweYouMyLife: Became a Bug-Type trainer after he nearly died after falling into a crevasse as a child, but Bug Pokémon saved him.
* NiceGuy: Crawli is an extremely friendly guy who takes good care of Terajuma, welcoming the player and their friends to the island with open arms and becomes their most important ally during their time there.
* ParentsAsPeople: His father, Rorim B is...eccentric, to say the least. But he does care for Crawli.
* SignatureMon: His Araquanid.

[[folder:Kreiss]]
!!Kreiss
Neverwinter City's actual Ice-type Gym Leader.
----
* BigDamnHeroes: [[spoiler: If released, he grabs Valarie and rescues the player, Venam and Melia.]]
* CoolOldGuy: Pun notwithstanding, he's 56 years old, and a CulturedBadass who doesn't take shit from anybody.
* DistressedDude: He's first met while held prisoner by Angie.
* HeroOfAnotherStory: He and Aelita went on a quest off-screen to find one of the Springs.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He comes across as haughty and arrogant, and has no shortage of snarky remarks, but he quickly develops a rapport with the other characters. After he criticizes the main cast for their supposed recklessness, he apologizes when he realizes the burdens and responsibilities that have been unfairly forced on them by Team Xen, and takes it on himself to help however he can.
* LukeIAmYourFather: [[spoiler:He's Angie's son, but seems to be unaware of this. Angie's quest reveals that there's a good reason for it.]]
* PutOnABus: He's been mentioned a few times, but hasn't actually appeared since Angie was defeated.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: He's 56, which surprised Valarie.

Teila Resort's Fire-type Gym Leader and Tesla's daughter.
----
* BrattyTeenageDaughter: To Tesla, who massively spoiled her in the past.
* TheBusCameBack: Reappears in Grand Dream City as the judge for the tournament of the Festival of Dreams.
* CessationOfExistence: [[spoiler:In the Renegade Route, should you pursue it, then not only do you kill her with the End of Night spell, you ''completely erase her from existence.'']].
* CoolBigSis: [[spoiler:She seems to be trying to invoke this dynamic with the player after Tesla offers you a place to stay and she starts cooling down from her SpoiledBrat phase. It's a work in progress]].
* DisappearedDad: Her dad was the last Dark-type leader, but abandoned his daughter and wife and resigned his post to get away from them. [[spoiler: He was intending to make amends, but a lot of stuff happened before he could.]]
* FieryRedhead: A Fire-type user with red hair with quite the temperament.
* HeroicLineage: Her mother is a member of the Elite 8. [[spoiler:Also, her father was Kenneth's brother, meaning she's Kenneth and Taelia's niece and Aelita's sort-of-cousin. She eventually learns this in Episode 15.]]
* LifeOfTheParty: Throws a lot of parties.
* LonelyAtTheTop: She straight up admits that she has basically no friends.
* PersonaNonGrata: She was banned from Gearen City as a child after being wrongly blamed for a fire that burned down half the city.
* PlayingWithFire: Well, obviously. It seems to run in the family.
* RevengeIsNotJustice: A variant: [[spoiler:she stops Rhodea from killing Mr Blakeory because Amber thinks that killing him won't really help Rhodea (although she also flat-out admits that she doesn't really care at this point if he lives or dies). And also because it won't let her see Mr Blakeory go to jail for the rest of his life. Once Amber and Thomas say that they'll expose his ties to Team Xen and ensure that he goes to prison, Rhodea agrees to back down.]]
* TheScapegoat: For the fire in Gearen. [[spoiler: Turns out it not only wasn't an accident, it was intended to kill her mother and their friends to hurt Keta.]]
* SignatureMon: Her Magmortar before V13, and afterwards an Aevian Toxtricity (Fire/Poison typing) that she apparently got from her father.
* SpoiledBrat: Tesla spoiled her a lot when she was young. That's the main reason why she's such a jerk. Thankfully, she mellows out a bit after the events at Valor Mountain, especially if you saved her. When she meets the player in Grand Dream City, she says she's working on becoming less of a brat.
* SpottingTheThread: [[spoiler: She's the one who tells everyone that there is no Dark type gym leader in Grand Dream City's hospital, since the last one was her father, who is missing, and there hasn't been one since.]]
* VitriolicBestBuds: With Venam, after Valor Mountain.
* WeUsedToBeFriends: With Venam and Saki.

West Gearen City's Electric-type Gym Leader and Saki's best friend.
----
* BigDamnHeroes: [[spoiler:He, Melia and Sakitron storm Eclysia Pyramid to help the heroes.]]
* TheBusCameBack: Reappears in Chapter 14 to help out [[spoiler:Melia and Madelis]].
* GadgeteerGenius: Chapter 14 reveals that he's actually the one who built Sakitron.
* NiceGuy: He's a genuinely nice person, if a bit eccentric.
* ShockAndAwe: He is the reserve Electric leader.
* SignatureMon: His shiny Electivire.
* WakeUpCallBoss: He is the first Gym Leader to use a Mega Evolution, specifically his Ampharos.
* WeUsedToBeFriends: With Venam, until Saki showed up.

Grand Dream City's Psychic-type Gym Leader.
----
* ADayInTheLimelight: You play as her for part of Chapter 13, when [[spoiler:she tries and fails to escape the hospital.]]
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Slapped one of the most powerful people in Grand Dream City for insulting her missing friend.
* ForeignExchangeStudent: She's apparently from Hoenn, specifically Mossdeep City.
* GoOnWithoutMe: [[spoiler:Tells Braixen to run for it when Isha confronts them as they try to escape the Hospital of Hope.]]
* IAmNotLeftHanded: Not against you, but her normal team is in the 80s - however, she apparently has a "lower-ranked" team that she uses to fight newer trainers (an Abra is specifically mentioned).
* MindOverMatter: She's the Psychic gym leader, and has developed a technique with her Alakazam to let her scan the "past" of specific locations.
* SignatureMon: Her Alakazam.
* TheUnfought: [[spoiler: Her asthma puts her out of commission before you can even challenge her, therefore you end up fighting Magenta and Neon in her place.]]
* UnresolvedSexualTension: With Huey - pretty much EveryoneCanSeeIt but the two of them.
* WarmUpBoss: Not for the player, but she's apparently the first gym leader, for trainers starting on Terrial Island.
[[/folder]]

----
* AwesomeAussie: Speaks with a thick Australian accent, and is confirmed to be from an unnamed region that's "down undah." He's also one of the toughest trainers in the Aevium league.
* BoldExplorer: You can first meet him in Terajuma exploring a series of ruins with his best friend Florin and the latter's sister Flora. Given his job as a cartographer, he gets antsy staying in one place and expresses a desire to get out and explore more on the Paragon Route long after.
* CessationOfExistence: [[spoiler:In the Renegade Route, if Florin is alive he ends up becoming a victim of the End of Night spell, which not only kills him, but completely erases him from everyone's memories to the point where even trying to mention his name results in gibberish. If Florin is dead, he mutates into a winged abomination who the player has to defeat, which in the end results in the same conclusion.]]
* EldritchAbomination: [[spoiler:If Florin is dead on the Renegade route, he mutates into an avian Rift form so corrupt and deformed its shape and type fluctuate throughout its battle. While it is unknown what Pokémon it is supposed to be, the files say it is a Braviary form]]
* ExcellentJudgeOfCharacter: He's kind but not naive, [[spoiler:correctly realizing Flora was up to no good years before she gets caught.]]
* FaceDeathWithDignity: [[spoiler:In the Florin is Dead branch of the Renegade Route, once you defeat his Rift Form, he calmly tells you that he knows he has to die, he got to live a good life and even tells you to make sure that the entity that set him up against you pays for doing so in the first place.]]
* MadnessMantra: [[spoiler:On the Renegade route, he finds himself compelled by a voice to "stop the protagonist". His Rift form's ability is even named "Stop (the player character's name here)".]]
* NiceGuy: Talon is a friendly and cheerful explorer who is nothing but kind to the protagonist and those around him. [[spoiler:Even on the Renegade Route where he's being driven mad by a voice he describes as God, he's ultimately apologetic about attacking you and faces his death with dignity and optimism.]]
* MeaningfulName: Aside from 'Talon' being the claws of birds, 'Atreides' is the name of a noble house from ''Literature/{{Dune}}'', whose symbol is a red hawk.
* OlympusMons: [[spoiler: On the Renegade Route he uses a Tornadus to battle you.]]
* PoisonousPerson: [[spoiler:His Rift form's secondary type shifts, but it remains primarily Poison the entire battle.]]
* RooftopConfrontation: You always battle him in his gym atop the Central Building in Grand Dream City, which is so high up it counts as a Sky Field.
* SignatureMon: Braviary, and to a lesser degree his Mega Butterfree. [[spoiler:While it isn't seen nor confirmed, his Braviary mutates with him into his Rift form, similar to how Aelita was mutated into a Rift with a Regirock]]
* TakenForGranite: He's the first named victim of the stone phenomenon in Grand Dream City.
* TheUnfought: You wind up battling Souta instead. You wind up fighting him much later, during Chapter 0 of the path split.
* TooPowerfulToLive : According to an operative of Gearen Laboratory, he was ''that'' strong.

Sashila Village's Dragon-type Gym Leader. He is Alexandra’s brother.
----
* CastingAShadow: He's a Dragon gym leader, but he claims Dark types are his forte. His team is a mix of both types when you battle alongside him as Alexandra in a flashback.
* ItIsDehumanizing: Constantly refers to [[spoiler: Nim]] as an "it".
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He's a genuinely good person despite his grumpiness otherwise. Opting to let a group of runaway Xen grunts stay in the fort they're squatting in against his orders improves your relationship with him, suggesting his pragmatism isn't necessarily what he personally wants.
* KnightInSourArmor: He's on the side of good, but tends to act like a jerk. A Sashila help quest reveals that he's actually very aware of how his temper affects things, and is grateful to people like the player and Alexandra for keeping his anger down.
* NotSoAboveItAll: He has his moments of unrestrained enthusiasm, practically leaping at the chance to train a new Dark type gym leader, and once he makes up with Adam the two become much more laid back around one another.
* OlympusMons: His main Pokémon is a Shiny Latios, which he even has the Mega Stone for.
* PragmaticHero: He's got no issues with going straight to the point, or taking the simplest route to fixing a problem - however, his lust for revenge and being a KnightInSourArmor can sometimes mean that he's prone to taking routes that are questionably moral. [[spoiler:Just ask the ex-Team Xen Grunts living in the Ruined City, who you have to convince him to not throw out.]] [[spoiler:And in Chapter 15, Erin notices flat out that a way to make sure Team Xen never gets their hands on the Archetype is to kill her, Melia, Alice, and Allen - he doesn't disagree]].
* RevengeBeforeReason: Team Xen killed his parents in the invasion of Alamissa Urben, and he's never forgiven them. He says that he's previously wanted to kill every member of Team Xen in retaliation.
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: He wants to kill every last member of Team Xen for what they did to Alamissa Urben.
* RoyalBlood: He is a descendant of Queen Nymiera.
* SiblingYinYang: He's the grumpy, angsty responsible sibling, while Alexandra's the nice, forgiving sibling. He says they work better together because he's often too angry and unforgiving, while she can be too nice, so they balance each other out.
* SignatureMon: Seems to be his Mega Latios.
* WeUsedToBeFriends: With Adam, who noped out after being frustrated by Damien's lust for revenge. They start talking again in Chapter 14 thanks to Alexandra, and have made up by Chapter 15.

* AliceAllusion: Her name and outfit are obviously reminiscent of Alice, not to mention the fact that she spent time in another world.
* BlueAndOrangeMorality: [[spoiler:In Chapter 14, she seems to have the belief that everything is part of the story she writes, and the people around her are just characters she created. [[spoiler:[[CharacterDevelopment She gets better, though.]]]]
* CastingAShadow: [[spoiler:She's the Dark-type Gym Leader as of Episode 15]].
* CloudCuckooLander: In earlier versions, she and Allen ate a bunch of frozen meals in Rhodea's freezer after they were freed from the Unown Dimension. ''Without heating them up first.'' Justified in this case, though, since she was trapped in the Unown Dimension for most of her life beforehand (and too much time with Unown explicitly causes issues with somebody's perception of reality).
** In Version 13.5, she and Allen make a falsified terrorist threat just to see you after being freed from the Unown Dimension.
* ContinuityNod: While her backstory is very different, she's a young woman who specializes in the Dark type and is an AliceAllusion, like Luna from ''VideoGame/PokemonReborn'', the game that inspired ''Rejuvenation''.
* TheDogWasTheMastermind: [[spoiler:Chapter 14 reveals that she is the one behind 'Team Trappus', which was a diversion meant to distract Allen so he wouldn't leave the Unown Dimension.]]

* MasterOfIllusion: Her power as of Chapter 15.
* ObliviouslyEvil: She and Allen make a terrorist threat to see you again, in Grand Dream City - but, well, a lifetime in the Unown Dimension has given them trouble understanding what problems that sort of thing could lead to.
* SignatureMon: [[spoiler: If her interest in obtaining one and her briefly creating one at Eclysia Pyramid is anything to go by, it's Sableye.]]
* TwinSwitch: You never really see her and Allen together at first in the Unown Dimension. This changes after they are sent out by the Puppet Master.

** In Chapter 13.5, he and Alice first introduce themselves to you in Grand Dream City by making a falsified terrorist threat - just so they could see you, on the orders of the Puppet Master.
* CloudCuckooLandersMinder: He's more down-to-earth and rational than Alice, [[spoiler: being the one to finally speak out against the solipsistic worldview she developed while in the Unown Dimension. 276* FoolishSiblingResponsibleSibling: He's the logical, responsible sibling to Alice's less-than-logical approach.
* GildedCage: Points out to Alice that the Unown Dimension was more of a prison than a paradise.
* HotBlooded: He's really angry and aggressive in the Unown Dimension. He cools down later on.
* ObliviouslyEvil: He and Alice make a terrorist threat to see you again in Grand Dream City, but, a lifetime in the Unown Dimension has given them trouble understanding what problems that sort of thing could lead to.

* GreenThumb: Like his sister.
* MeaningfulName: Grevillea is a genus of flowering plants.
* MightyGlacier: In contrast to his sister, his team is very attack-oriented.

* BigDamnHeroes: Saves you from Team Xen's attack on S.S. Oceana.
* EvenTheLovingHeroHasHatedOnes: [[spoiler:She hasn't seen him in years, but her ex, Deagan, is this to her. After he walked out on her and never returned, she did her best to put him out of her mind, and unlike Amber, is clearly unconcerned that he's alive]].

* HeartwarmingOrphan: A grown up version. She tells Kenneth in ''Where Love Lies'' that she wants to own an orphanage because she is an orphan herself, and immediately takes in the player after [[spoiler: Team Xen kills their mother.]]
* MysteriousPast: She spent years trying to find her origins, which were completely unknown. You can find out from the informant in Sashila Village that Tesla later discovered that her father was from another region, and her mother was from Sashila Village.
* NiceGirl: Opens her house to you after finding out that [[spoiler: Nancy is dead]], had a goal to open an orphanage before she became an Elite 8 member (and may still have it).
* NoodleIncident: There was an undisclosed incident in the past that led to her swearing off alcohol for good, which Taelia was apparently witness to and which Tesla does not wish to ever discuss aloud.
* TheNotLoveInterest: Zigzagged - she was this to Keta in the past, but [[spoiler:in the Alternate Timeline/BadFuture, the two appear to be together]], and she had Amber with Keta's brother.
* ParentalSubstitute: [[spoiler:To the protagonist after finding out their mother died.]]
* PlayingWithFire: She is a Fire-type trainer like her daughter.
* SelfMadeWoman: She started out as an orphan working jobs to make ends meet, and became the owner of Telia Resort and an Elite 8 member.
* VideoGameCrueltyPunishment: Tesla is unconditionally kind and supportive of the protagonist, offering them a place to stay and [[spoiler:and a surrogate mother to support them in light of the loss of theirs,]] without ever getting upset or short with you the way just about after other central character does at least once or twice. Because of this, the game counts having a negative relationship with her as four times worse than any of the other major characters when tallying up values for the Renegade Route.
* WeUsedToBeFriends: With Keta. She became very angry at him after he no-showed her show without any explanation. He was intending to make amends, but it didn't quite work out.

* CastFromSanity: [[spoiler: According to the KnowledgeBroker in Sashila Village, her failure to cast an advanced Garufa spell (creating a Crest) twisted her mind.]]
* ChildhoodFriends: Was this to Ryland, Adam, Alexandra and Damien.

* DishingOutDirt: Displays the ability to create stone.
* GemstoneAssault: All of her known Pokémon have a "gem" theme.
* HowTheMightyHaveFallen: Aside from her instability [[spoiler:caused by an incorrect Crest making process, she reflects that Castle Zygara has seen much better days when you get there - roughly 20% of the original structure is left from the original castle]].
* {{Jerkass}}: Not only does she [[spoiler:snatch the Mega Ring away from you, she also apparently killed Karrina's parents.]] All just to get to the Hidden Library and its secrets - and the Mega Stones inside. [[LampshadedTrope Karrina wonders how someone like her got into the Elite 8.]]

And that even if Karrina does kill her, they won't come back - and that she Karrina is the one who has constantly refused to move on from the past for all that time.]]
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: [[spoiler: Flashbacks show her to be an arrogant, teasing but ultimately caring friend who immediately accepts Ryland as a man when he comes out to her.]]
* MoodSwinger: When you meet her in West Gearen, she swings between happiness to bloodlust to despair in the span of a few seconds, all because she stepped on a bug by accident.
* MotorMouth: She's very prone to nonsensical babbling, frequently going off on random tangents.
* MyGreatestFailure: Celine rallied Karen, Damien, Alexandra, Adam and Ryland to train hard in order to prevent something, implied to be Team Xen's invasion and destruction of Alamissa Urben. They failed, and Karen was so upset by this that she tried to make a Crest to help her become stronger... [[DownerEnding Yeah, that didn't work.]]
* TheNicknamer: Refers to the player as 'Little Dove', even when [[spoiler:her sanity's restored.]] She also names Karrina 'Little Duck'.
* NeverMyFault: [[spoiler:During the Castle Zygara sidequest, she has this attitude toward her murder of Karrina's parents- she wasn't in her right mind and she's already apologised, so why is Karrina still angry? 427* RoyalBlood: Is the descendant of a “forgotten” royal family.
* SanitySlippage: [[spoiler:Her diary’s final entry describes how she felt her mind slowly breaking after failing to create a Crest.]]
* SignatureMon: The first Pokémon she ever caught was a [[spoiler:Diancie.]]
* WeUsedToBeFriends: Or rather, they still are - she was ChildhoodFriends growing up with Alexandra, Damien, Ryland, and Adam. Tragically, her insanity doesn't go away, even around them.
* WouldntHurtAChild: When you meet her for the first time, she states that she wouldn't do anything to harm a kid. [[SubvertedTrope Unless they were a brat.]]

* CastingAShadow: [[spoiler:He leaves behind a Deino for you after the Missing Children sidequest, the first stage Gen V pseudolegendary. Given this and Gyarados's potential to Mega Evolve into a Water/Dark type, Dark might be (one of) his type specialties.]]
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Was abused by his grandfather, stole from people, joined gangs, has apparently been on the receiving end of ransom demands before, [[spoiler:unintentionally got his girlfriend killed]]...
* InformedAbility: Downplayed - he says that Ana, whose only Pokémon is a level 25 Magnemite at the time, has a better chance against you than him (your Pokémon should be around 80 at this point). So he's... got to be absurdly good as a Pokémon trainer, frankly, but you haven't seen him in action yet. When he's later confirmed to be an Elite 8 member, his comment makes more sense.
* TheLostLenore: [[spoiler:He accidentally got his girlfriend Kailani killed, and he obviously never recovered from it.]]
* MakingASplash: His grandfather helped him run a fishing competition, and his only seen Pokémon is a Gyarados.
* MyGodYouAreSerious: Initially, he doesn't believe Ana when she says she got a part in a movie.
-> Wh-What?! You're serious? But how?
* NotSoAboveItAll: [[spoiler:When he finds out you know Risa Raider, he asks you to "put in a good word for him".]]
* ReplacementGoldfish: Over the course of the Missing Children quest, as we learn more about him and his past, it becomes evident that Ana is his for Kailani- not in the romantic sense, but in the sense that she's also incredibly naive and happy, wants to see more of the world, and that he wants to protect her as a way of making up for where he went wrong with Kailani.
* RichesToRags: An intentional case. He tells the player at one point that in the past, his life was going in a good direction and he was becoming very rich, but he couldn't take it anymore so he gave all his money to charity and moved into the Underground.
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: [[spoiler:At the end of the Missing Children quest, he leaves a note telling the player that he intends to hunt V down, take Ana back and kill V for what they did.]]
* TheRunaway: Flashbacks show that he was the royal guard to the original Princess of Kristiline, Kailani. Eventually, the two of them ran off together and lived in the Underground [[spoiler:until Kailani was killed by the Dons because Dylan was cheating at gambling.]]

----
* BewareTheNiceOnes: After getting fed up with Adam and Damien refusing to try and talk their issues out, she goes full GlowingEyesOfDoom on them and flat-out orders them to start talking to each other again. They quickly comply.
* IdenticalGrandson: She looks almost identical to her ancestor, Nymiera.
* IHaveManyNames: She first introduces herself as April in the Amethyst Cave sidequest, then calls herself Krystal during the train ride to Grand Dream City. Damien reveals her real name is Alexandra, which she starts using herself when the player meets her in Sashila Village.
* OneDegreeOfSeparation: Judging by her reaction on the train to Venam wondering where/who the Champion is and what they're doing about all the issues in Aevium, it's possible she either knows who the Champion is, or is the Champion herself. [[spoiler:It's later confirmed that with her mother, Celine, currently out of the picture, as the top-ranked Elite Eight member Alexandra is the stand-in Champion]].
* OlympusMons: [[spoiler:She naturally has the counterpart to her brother's Latios, Latias.]]

Jan's sister, and the "Scout" responsible for seeking out new Trainers for the Aevium League.
----
* TheBusCameBack: Reappears outside the Grand Dream Ball after stealing Melia's ticket - right as Bladestar blows it up, and telling her "[[WhamLine You should have stayed dead]]".
** Later on, she reappears for real at the end of Chapter 15, when she's freed from the lab below Axis University, where she was imprisoned since before the game started.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: A lot of it regarding her RoboticReveal.
** Jan mentions not seeing her for weeks, and comments on the hat she's wearing, despite saying they're not for her to him at some point.
** He also mentions her being lazy about her administrative duties, something she normally isn't.
** An update has her seemingly following the player throughout the region, commenting on their progress, possibly to draw attention back to her and keep her on your mind throughout the playthrough....
* HiddenAgendaVillain: Both who her doppelganger is working for and what their goals are is unknown. However what is known is that she is neither part of Bladestar nor of Xen, and she is working to reverse Celine’s plan.
** It's later revealed that Celine is the Champion of the regional League, and that Robot!Amanda is acting on behalf of the Mysterious Figures.
* PlayingWithFire: Uses a lot of Fire-type Pokémon.
* SignatureMon: Her Hatterene. This is a conscious thematic choice, given her robot doppelganger's PrehensileHair.
* RecurringBoss: So far she's fought four times throughout the course of the game, three times as the protagonist and once as Melia, with Madelis as a partner. Right after that she's also fought in a non-conventional battle with Sakitron.
* RoboticReveal: The Amanda from the introduction to the game was replaced by a robot, with the intention of disrupting the Aevium league.
* WalkingSpoiler: The actual Amanda has almost no screen time thanks to being impersonated by a robot, something the player doesn't learn until late into the game.

[[folder:Celine]]
!!Celine Rhaela
The founder and Champion of the Aevium League, and also Damien and Alexandra's mother and the leader of Sashila Village.
----
* AnArmAndALeg: Madame X's first attack nearly killed her and wound up destroying several limbs.
* EarlyBirdCameo: She appear in [[spoiler: a flashback during the Goomink quest, being the one who entrusted Kasura Castle to Goomelda's family]].
* GreaterScopeParagon: She's been trying to protect Aevium, and founded the League to get as many strong Trainers around to fight off Team Xen as possible. Unfortunately, [[spoiler:due to Team Xen's attack on Alamissa Urben]], she's currently a SealedGoodInACan who's out of action for the time being.
* ParentsAsPeople: In the Paragon timeline where [[spoiler: Karen's dead]], Alexandra admits that she has a huge amount of resentment for her mother, because Celine being the champion meant that Alexandra feels like she has to live up to her legacy and Alexandra simply doesn't think she's cut out for that. She also says that the intense training Celine gave her only made her feel afraid, as if her failure would mean the end of everything, and while it might have been true, it was still incredibly unfair.
* SealedGoodInACan: She's currently encased in a crystal that's protecting her and healing her injuries; unfortunately, it's doing so ''very'' slowly.
