!!Nyx, !!The Night Queen
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rsz_nyx_persona_art_2.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:Nyx, the Night Queen]]

Nyx, under the name Night Queen, serves as an antagonist in the [[StoryBranching B-path]] within the Snow Queen Quest. The titular mask is a prop used by the drama club of St. Hermelin, which for reasons unknown came to be possessed by the Night Queen. The mask possesses humans who wear it to commit suicide, claiming a number of students as victims. When it possesses its latest victim Saeko, it turns the whole school into a frozen dungeon, preparing a ritual to bring about "Eternal Night" along with raising 3 Towers named after Nyx's children (Thanatos, Hypnos and Nemesis).

Each Tower houses shards of the Demon Mirror capable of freeing humans from its possession, and is guarded by one of the Snow Queen's previous victims. Philemon tasks the party with exploring retrieving the Demon Mirror shards to stop the Snow Queen, though in reality this seems to be something the Night Queen counts for. After being forced out of Saeko, the mask grows much larger and is fought as Lady Masquerade. After the mask is destroyed, the Night Queen itself manifests and is joined by the Masked Girl and Boy (manifestations of Maki and Kandori) to become Queen Asura as the quest's final boss. It disappears after being defeated, though Maki and Kandori both survive.

* AdaptationalWimp: In the game, she is the FinalBoss of the Snow Queen Quest. In the manga, it is killed in one hit by Yukino.

* AllThereInTheManual: She is only truly explored in the guidebooks of the game.

* {{Foreshadowing}}: Its ability to possess objects, the fact it grows stronger from negativity and death of its victims, and its intent to bring about for an event which would kill life on Earth, all resemble the behavior and traits of Shadows in future games, particularly ''Persona 3''. The fact it somehow ends up in a mask might also reference how it is noted Shadows can occasionally manifest in the physical world.
