* RandomEffectSpell: The Kamui Miracle Spell. Its description is simply, "Anything can happen!" Casting it results in a lovely dispaly of cartoon stars and rainbows followed shortly after by something horrible or awesome happening to you and/or your foes.

* GirlsAreReallyScaredOfHorrorMovies: In ''Golden'', [[NightmareFetishist Yukiko]] tries to comfort Chie when thunder cuts the lights out by telling a ghost story, which makes things worse for Chie. The ghost stories from ski trip and the ''Evil Spirit Club'' in [[VideoGame/PersonaQShadowOfTheLabyrinth Q]] also scare her.

** Yosuke has gone all "HaveIMentionedThatIAmHeterosexualToday" multiple times, and there are DummiedOut lines that suggest he might have been a GayOption because [[Pun IfItsYu]] [IfItsYouItsOkay ItsOkay]].

* {{Irony}}: Downplayed. Her Shadow notes that Rise doesn't really like handsome-looking guys, but she ends up falling for Yu, a ChickMagnet whose good looks are repeatedly brought up in-universe. However, her Shadow also points that Rise's ideal guy is someone who's "kind and clean", with these traits also applying to Yu as well.

* ThreeAmigos: Yu, Chie, and Yosuke are the founding members of the Investigation Team.

* NoSell: For [[ItOnlyWorksOnce one-time only in every single battle]], she's capable of taking ''any'' multi-target attack that would kill at least one party member. This includes [[OneHitKO instant kills (like Mahama and Mamudo)]] and ''a 9999 Megidolaon from [[BonusBoss Margaret]]!'' And she keeps buffing you up like nothing's happened!

* BerserkButton: The team tends to brush off a lot of the things that tick them off (Teddie hitting on the girls, Kanji getting mocked for his sexuality and less 'masculine' hobbies). That said, there are [[SeriousBusiness some lines]] you do ''not'' cross with them.
** For both the Protagonist/Yu and the team in general, it's threatening Yu's little cousin sister. All of them absolutely adore Nanako and they're all furious when [[spoiler: she gets kidnapped]].
** Yosuke will not stand for any insult towards Saki Konishi.
** Chie hates bullies.
** Yukiko is very protective of her family inn and its employees.
** Kanji is extremely protective of his mother.
** Teddie would rather die than watch his friends perish.
** The first time Rise got seriously mad was when Naoto implied that their investigations was a 'game'.
** Naoto has a low-grade but strong reaction towards criminals, especially unrepentant ones, as seen when [[spoiler:she casually suggests disposing of Namatame in the TV when the team thinks he caused Nanako's death, and her arguments against Adachi]].

** If she isn't romanced by Valentine's Day, she'll cheerfully hand Yu some friendship chocolate.

* SheIsAllGrownUp: According to an interview in ''VideoGame/Persona5'', she's at least in her twenties by this time.

* ChildhoodFriends: Aside from Chie, Yukiko and Kanji were also childhood friends due to their families' business connections.

* {{Bishonen}}: Yu, Yosuke, and especially Teddie in his human form. According to the Design Works, Soejima designed Yosuke as a "pretty boy", with lighter build and softer facial features compared to Yu, to make him distinct from ''Persona 3'''s Junpei, who looks more masculine than the game's main character.

* {{Bishonen}}: His human form is very, ''very'' pretty.

* JackOfAllStats: Most of Yosuke's stats are reasonably high [[BornUnlucky aside from his Luck]], and he learns a variety of magic and physical skills to go with them, along with healing skills to keep his and the rest of the party's health up. His main weakness is that he doesn't excel in anything, as Chie and Kanji are better physical attackers, Yukiko and Teddie are better magic attackers who can also heal the party, and Naoto learns a much wider variety of magic skills, allowing her to hit almost any enemy's weakness.

* InferioritySuperiorityComplex: Acts quite cocky sometimes but was self-conscious and suffered from feelings of inadequacy even before Yu came to town. He Outright says that Yu is more talented than him in ''Dancing All Night'', but is clearly over it at this point.

* INeedToGoIronMyDog: If the protagonist takes the friendship route instead of romancing her, she quickly says she has errands to run and runs off on the brink of tears. In a more lighthearted note, after her slapping Yosuke causes Yosuke to blame Chie for suggesting that Yukiko tutor him, and Chie to point out that it was his fault for asking for "[[DoubleEntendre private lessons]]," she says she has to get going.

* INeedToGoIronMyDog: If the protagonist takes the friendship route after her LoveConfession, she quickly says she has errands to run and runs off on the brink of tears. * MagicallyIneptFighter: PlayedWith. Chie starts off with some ice spells and has both a decently high magic stat and enough SP to reliably use them, but eventually stops learning ice skills once Teddie joins the party and focuses purely on physical damage instead, which she excels in due to her high attack and luck stats. She does gain access to a few other spells (including Bufudyne and Hamaon) through bike rides, but they remain secondary to her physical skills.

* {{Nosebleed}}:

* DudeMagnet: She's rejected so many guys by the start of the game that "the Amagi Challenge" of asking her out on a date has become something of a rite of passage at Yasogami High. It is also notable that she is the only girl in the group who all of the guys express interest in at one point or another.

** Suffers one after seeing Chie and Yukiko in bikinis for the first time, the [[BlackComedy twist]] being that it's probably because Chie and Yukiko ''beat him into unconsciousness'' the night before - Kanji had a concussion!
