* BladeSpam: The Swordmaster has an inherent combo rate bonus.

!!! Dark King
* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: He's the leader of the Dark Knights and is a fighter on par with the Demon Lord.
* BigBadEnsemble: He's not affiliated with the Demon Lord, but he's still the main villain of the Force Knight quest, since he and his Dark Knights impede your efforts to free the souls of the Force Knights.
* MadeOfIron: If he falls into the Darkness, he will take a good amount of damage, but not enough to kill him in one hit.
* MagicKnight: You'd think to play a distance game with him, but then he'll cast Lightning.
* WoundedGazelleGambit: He and the Dark Knights pretended to be civilians fleeing from the Darkness in order to ambush and kill the Force Knights.

!!! Moonlight
* BigBadEnsemble: He's the main villain in the Ninja quest, where he and his cronies try to assassinate you and steal your scroll.
* DramaticallyMissingThePoint: If you clear the quest as a Ninja, the quest giver will tell a dying Moonlight that he was already powerful enough that the scroll would be redundant, but his lust for power and constant killing goes against the purpose of the Ritual of the Ninja.
* MasterOfIllusion: When his encounter is triggered, he will reveal that your surroundings are actually in his personal hideout and that you're actually surrounded by his mooks.

* DeathSeeker: This is implied when the player kills its first form.

* OneWingedAngel: It will morph from a humanoid to a serpent when it loses the first round

!!! Demon Lord aka Sara Lucrucious
* TheDragon: Ironically, she's forced to play one to the true BigBad, an actual dragon.
* GoodAllAlong: She's only playing the role of the "Demon Lord" so that once she is slain in battle, the Darkness will temporarily return to sleep.
* HeelFaceTurn: If you meet certain conditions, she'll decide to take the riskier option of helping you kill the Darkness.
* ICannotSelfTerminate: If she kills herself or lets you win rather than dying in a serious fight, the Darkness will still continue.
* OnlySaneMan: In the original game at least, she's one of the few NPC's who can't have a personality modifier.
* OrcusOnHisThrone: Averted in the main quest due to her periodically hunting you down, but played straight if the hero is doing a quest from a castle NPC.
* PowerFloats: This allows her to ignore terrain.
* SamusIsAGirl: Your character is too busy fighting or running from her to notice her gender, unless a Buddy Tablet is used for a temporary ceasefire.
* TheStoic: After eating a Buddy Tablet. Otherwise she tries to exploit EvilIsHammy to keep up the act.

* InstantDeathRadius: Touching the Darkness will instantly kill most characters, making 1 tile melee too dangerous.
* MightyGlacier: When challenged, it doesn't act often, but when it does, it can fire a huge breath attack.

Can someone confirm that the character comments in the Dimensional Passageway credits only show up on a rewatch? I certainly don\'t remember seeing them the first time I cleared my game there and watched them then, but I have a pretty spotty memory, too...

Added DiffLines:

* LongLostRelative: A rewatch of the Dimensional Passageway's credit sequence from the Extras menu implies that you've actually been speaking to Mila's LongLostRelative quite a bit. [[spoiler: Each character gets a comment by their names, and the Dimensional Vault Guard's is "I actually have a younger sister." The character art of the two together and their similar looking sprites (which are drawn attention two by having one come after the other in the credits) make the implication all but directly stated.]]

* CastFromLifespan: All except one of the Ninja's class skills draw from their maximum stamina value, effectively limiting your ST pool with frequent use. The one skill that doesn't draw from maximum stamina is "Chaos Attack," which draws from the Ninja's maximum life instead as a more straightforward example of the trope.

!! Playable classes

!!! Swordmaster
* {{Meido}}: The unlockable Special sprite is this. Amusingly enough, instead of a character portrait at the bottom of the screen, this character has a drawing of a cat and the words "No sexy maid pic for you!"

!!! Knight
* BarrierWarrior: Twice as good with shield as any other class.
* StoneWall: Mostly geared towards defense. They start with the Great Wall skill, which greatly reduces damage taken, but only if they stand in place, and have better damage reduction from using shields.

!!! Hunter
* FragileSpeedster: As a ranged fighter, they are expected to stay out of reach of the enemies' attacks, but if they are in trouble they can use the Dash skill to run away quickly.

!!! Pirate
* AnAxeToGrind: Starts with an axe, which is more powerful than the other classes' starting weapons, giving them an early-game advantage.
* MasterOfUnlocking: Can use the lockpicking skill without taking up a perk slot.

!!! Adventurer
* FragileSpeedster: Has low HP and vitality, but has superior mobility, both for crossing water and mountains, as well as normal terrain thanks to their Dash and Jump skills.
* MasterOfUnlocking: Naturally has the lockpicking skill, which would normally require taking the perk of the same name as this trope.

!!! Force User

!!! Bard
* TheCharmer: Has the highest starting charisma of all classes.

!!! Hero
* GlassCannon: Deals higher damage than the other classes, but takes extra damage if they are hit from the side or back. And when they use Zenura Weave, they permanently lose the ability to wear armor in exchange for even more damage.

!! Hero and allies

!!! The player
* {{Determinator}}: They run nonstop 24/7 for the entirety of the game. Iris will lampshade this if you talk to her.
* GenderNeutralWriting: The game uses the singular "they". Especially noticeable in the endings, where at some points it sounds like there are multiple players running around.
* PlotPoweredStamina: Never gets tired (unless you forget to eat) until you beat the Demon Lord, at which point they immediately fall asleep.
* Reincarnation: Will awaken in another dimension if they die, but they will immediately lose their memories, explaining the level loss.

!!! Fairy Iris
* FairyCompanion

!!! Dosey
* CanineCompanion: If you use a Buddy Tablet on her after she fully transforms, you can recruit her again.
* DoomedHometown: Her village was destroyed by the Darkness. She survived as she was away gathering herbs.
* SlowTransformation: She is already partially transformed when you meet her, but three days later she will fully transform into a Killer Hound and attack you.
* SupportPartyMember: She does not attack, but she can use healing herbs on you a few times per day. That is, until she becomes a wolf, at which point she becomes a fully offense-based character.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Natuya Fruits. You must give her one to recruit her, and eating more after that improves her relationship.
* TragicMonster: If you do not have any Buddy Tablets to calm her down after she fully becomes a wolf, this trope occurs.

!!! Panty Shot
* ArtifactOfDeath: Subverted. He says that his sword drains his life force, but this doesn't hurt him, although it does make his sword stronger as time goes on.
* RuleOfFunny: The reason why he named himself "Panty Shot" is because he thought it would be funny to hear his enemies yell his name in the middle of battle.
* SupremeChef: Turns out to be a great cook in his ending. He failed as a chef because nobody wanted to buy a "Fresh Panty Lunchbox".

!!! Queen Frieda
* DamselInDistress: She is locked inside a well-guarded castle, which you'll need to fight through if you want to recruit her.
* GoOutWithASmile: In her epilogue, the spell animating her corpse wears off as she is happily enjoying a parade.
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: Will fight alongside you despite being a queen.
* UndeathAlwaysEnds: In her epilogue, the spell animating her finally wears off.
* UndeathlyPallor: Her unusually pale skin is a sign that she is actually undead.
* UtilityPartyMember: While she is still good in a fight, her main use is her ability to unlock sealed doors, which normally require a rare Key of Seals of open, and which guard powerful Holy items.
