* TragicVillain: Its greatly Downplayed do to his attitude, but he more or less greatly subverts AliensAreBastards completely by having HiddenDepths. Honestly the execution makes his character very inconsistent, and if it werent for what ultimately happens to him and whats revealed, he would come across as far less likable.

** As it turns out he's just as much a victim of FU's conquests as Santa Destroy and does what he does to survive. He is TheLastOfHisKind and hides the future generation of eggs aboard his ship. Instead of letting a species survive, [[HumansAreBastards the UAA callously destroys them and drives his race to extinction, rendering his efforts in vain.]]

* {{Deconstruction}}: Of the StarterVillain. Unlike a typical example, Mr. Blackhole his arguably the most fleshed out of the alien antagonists and has the most complicated relationship between who he works for and who he's fighting against. He's more likable than not and he also has a hidden reason for what he's doing which makes the heroes the least heroic they've ever been by ''completing the genocide of his race.'' The deconstruction gets clearer the further up the ranks Travis goes, as the other members of FU's gang are either less developed, or far more unsympathetic.

* {{Hypocrite}}: He complains how FU showed up one day to his planet and destroyed it in a fit of rage. He pretty much does the same thing to Santa Destroy, dismissing it as a "shitty town" and blows it up on a whim.

* HumansAreBastards: More than any other of the antagonists, Mr. Blackhole's scenario displays this aspect of Travis's world the most egregiously (his attack on the city notwithstanding). He's cordial with Travis despite him threatening him using his worldview, he dies an UndignifiedDeath due to Travis, and the UAA kills the unhatched eggs he was sheltering after FU destroyed everyone else on his planet.

** His relationship with FU is, itself, complicated. He is complicit with the massively destructive and selfishly impulsive whims of the giant jerk and seemingly on good enough terms that he tries to send a personal final message. However it also seems as though he realizes that if he ''doesn't'' act this way or fails FU he is as good as dead. Later cruel and fatal events involving higher ranking members of FU's gang prove this thinking to be a legitimate concern.
** He acts high and mighty as a first impression, but his actual interactions with Travis show him to be surprisingly friendly personally, even stating he would happily leave everyone alone if he could. It's just that he's been so broken that he doesn't see the point in rebelling against his master.
