* YouHaveToBelieveMe: Yuuko keeps stumbling into the most mind-blowing scenarios - ones which she knows no one will believe she saw, like the old and mild-mannered principal trying to wrangle a deer that had wandered onto the school grounds--and when it attacks him, he ends up ''suplexing'' it.

* FullNameBasis: How he addresses Misato Tachibana.

* InnocentProdigy: A typical 8-year-old girl who just happens to be able to make a highly advanced artificial intelligence. Despite her scientific genius, she's still as childish as any girl her age would be and rarely ever thinks about the consequences of her actions.

* ComingOutStory: [[SubvertedTrope Subverted]]. When she "comes out" to Yukko, it turns out that she was just messing with her. [[RunningGag As usual]].

* RidiculouslyHumanRobot: Her screw is the only clue (or rather, dead giveaway) that she's a robot. Take it off, and nobody would guess. (Hell, even with it, Mio isn't initially convinced Nano is a robot right away).

* HairTriggerTemper: Around Yukko and Yoshino (though granted, the former is a bit of an idiot, and the latter is TheGadfly).

* YankTheDogsChain: Whenever things seem to be looking up for Yukko, ''something'' will happen to take the wind out of her sails. She'll remember to do her homework, only to forget to bring it to school. She might get a score of 80 on her test, but still end up below the class' average.

* FamilyFriendlyFirearms: Double subverted. Her weapons do look realistic and are more than capable of damaging the scenery, but the characters she does shoot with them are so MadeOfIron that they still come across as this.

Another of the six "main" characters, Mio is the most normal of the cast, [[CloudCuckooLand but that isn't saying much]]. She usually plays the straight man to Yukko's antics.

* CordonBleughChef: [[TheGadfly Deliberately so]]. Her jam is so bad, she almost literally qualifies as a LethalChef.

* TheGadfly: Especially, though not exclusively, towards her sister.

* TheAce: Mai is an honor student, being able to outsmart pretty much everyone with her pranks (being the other prankster Yoshino the only one who can compete with her), talented in multiple disciplines, phsysically strong (being able to crush Yukko in arm wrestling with no effort) and agile (dodging multiple obstacles during a storm is an example of this).

* AdaptationalBackstoryChange: Her story in the anime is changed a bit: In the manga, Nano was Yukko, Mio and Mai's classmate since episode 1. We can see her past about a few flashback chapters, where the Professor sent Nano to school so she have more time to eat snacks, and also gave her name, implying that Nano didn't have a name until that point. In the anime, Nano doesn't go to school, and her desire for being a student is her main character arc. And even if the Professor also celebrated for being able to eat more snacks, if was Sakamoto who influenced her decision after noticing that Nano wanted to go to school (while in the manga Sakamoto hadn't even adopted yet when Nano started going to school).
