The guardian entity of Sound Lake, the first field the tournament passes through. He is the Principal's pet.
----
* AttackOfTheFiftyFootWhatever: Tall as a building, and hostile to humans.
* ChekhovsGunman: Returns in chapter 96 [[spoiler: where a flashback shows him helping Isabella, Xiang Ye, and three other victims of the Tols siblings return to the human capital city.]]
* CombatTentacles: The "beard" of tentacles can grab, attack, drill, and do just about anything to human-sized opponents.
* HappinessInSlavery: It has an owner, which it obeys happily. [[spoiler:It is Vasily Andre, the school's principal.]]
* IAmAHumanitarian: It makes its first appearance trying to eat one of the members of the [=CQC=] class that tried to swim across the lake as part of the tournament.
* MakeMeWannaShout: When the CombatTentacles won't do it, it can emit a loud screech to immobilize its prey.
* MisplacedRetribution: Angry at Xiang Ye for shooting it into submission, it lashes out at the chef class student swimming up to it. [[UnderestimatingBadassery This does not go as planned.]]
* PunchedAcrossTheRoom: Amazingly. In Kaiju form, Rennes uses a water-spout to send it flying into the sky.
* ShapeShifterBaggage: Can go from something the size of a building, to something about the size of a child and back again without explanation.
* SnotBubble: He shows a snot bubble as he sleeps next to the Principal.
* TurnsRed: When pissed off, it changes to red in color, its tentacles get harder and sharper, and overall it becomes much more dangerous.
* UnderestimatingBadassery: When the chef student shows up, it mocks him and his VocalDissonance. The off-screen consequences are not pretty.
* YouCanTalk: Xiang Ye stops shooting at him after hearing him surrender.

[[folder: The Queen of Thorns]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/queen_of_thorns.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:350:Fucking humans!]]
The guardian of the Forest field during the first half of the tournament and Isabella's childhood pet. She later joins Isabella, as promised, and is carried by her as a pocket monster.
----
* AffectionateNickname: In chapters 212 and 213, Xiang Ye calls her "Little Vine" and she apparently likes it. This also appears to be the name given her by Isabella.
* AnArmAndALeg: The forging class's newly minted machine gun brigade manages to blast off one of her arms with concentrated small machine-gun fire. Aside from distracting her from the rest of Xiang Ye's group, [[BodyBackupDrive it doesn't do much.]]
* BodyBackupDrive: In a forest, killing her body doesn't help, she just manifests a new body out of nearby foliage.
* BoobsOfSteel: Stacked enough to rival Isabella, and a powerful fighter.
* CassandraTruth: Inverted. Xiang Ye and his group repeatedly protest their innocence against her claims that they started the forest fire she's rightfully angered by, but she's too enraged to believe them.
* ChildhoodFriend: Of Isabella, as her pet.
* DarkIsEvil: Wears black and is very hostile to humans, regardless of whether they deserve it or not. Later subverted.
* EquippableAlly: She can take on the form of a bracelet Isabella wears. How Isabella was able to pick her up, as promised, and without Xiang Ye noticing, has yet to be revealed.
* FantasticRacism: She hates humans, as a whole. The reason has yet to be explained, at least fully.
* GreenThumb: She controls plants and can manifest in any plant she desires.
* GrievousHarmWithABody: Throws General and Moss Feili to Eli.
* HappinessInSlavery: She used to be Isabella's ''pet'' when the two of them were children, and was very, very happy.
* HeelFaceTurn: Went from an antagonist in the first half of the tournament to a valued ally, actively supporting Isabella and Xiang Ye.
* HumansAreInsects: In chapter 70, she calls Xiang Ye's entire group "a bunch of insects" before she starts grabbing them with thorny vines, until [[LethalJokeCharacter the forging class]] attacks her with focused light machine gun fire, to the shock of most of the other students, and herself.
* LuminescentBlush: Sports these whenever she's happy to serve Isabella, which is often.
* MisplacedRetribution: Invoked and Justified. All she knew was that humans started a forest fire, because that's what her minions told her, so she attacks the first group of humans she runs across, who happen to be entirely innocent, [[CassandraTruth but she doesn't believe them.]]
* RecognitionFailure: Justified. She was too angry to think straight, it was the heat of battle, and Isabella not only looked entirely human, but was in a crowd of humans. When they've both had a chance to calm down and talk things out, she remembered her past as Isabella's pet and was genuinely touched that Isabella came to check up on her, in person.
** It's also inverted in that Isabella didn't initially recognize her either, but then remembered who she was and why she was there in chapter 71.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Glowing red eyes and very, very dangerous.
* ShooTheDog: On the receiving end. Isabella planted her in a barren plain, so she could live, because demon territory mana was too much for her, when they were both children. The Queen of Thorns has not forgotten this favor.
* SnakePerson: Lower-half of a snake, upper half of a human.
* TearsOfJoy: Once she recognizes Isabella, this is the result.
* TentacleRope: Restrains Eli, Isabella, and the other combat students with her roots.
* UndyingLoyalty: She's loved Isabella ever since she was a tiny sapling, and when they're reunited in the present, sheds tears of joy at their reunion.
** She also gets this from her minions, who will happily shield her with their lives, if need be.
* UsedToBeASweetChild: She was the very definition of "adorable" as a little sapling.

[[folder: The God Tribe Ruins' Dragon]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/drake_0.png]]

----
* AcidAttack: He spits acid at the wall to open an escape route.
* AttackBackfire: Eli tries to [[VideoGame/SuperMario64 spin him]] by the tail. He brushes Eli off effortlessly.

* BreathWeapon: Big magic spheres that form on his mouth are one of his strongest dragon form attacks.
** He also has an AcidAttack.
* DePower: He gets reverted to a lizard by Xiang Ye after being defeated.
* DragonHoard: He guards the Red Stone.
* DroppedABridgeOnHim: [[spoiler:He is impaled with an icicle by some followers of Tols Penny who stral his Life Stone.]]
* EmergencyTransformation: After being injured by Xiang Ye and Isabella, he absorbs magic from the Red Stone and powers up to look more like a dragon.
* HollywoodAcid: His acid is capable of melting concrete.
* HollywoodChameleons: He hides with ChameleonCamouflage while Xiang Ye's party deals with the golems.
* HumansAreTheRealMonsters: He hates humans because they destroyed the forest he lived in.
* MultipurposeTongue: Combined with OverlyLongTongue. He grabs one of the Stones of Development with his tongue before retreating.
* OurDragonsAreDifferent: ZigZagged. Xiang Ye thinks he is a dragon even though he looks more like a [[https://i.pinimg.com/736x/01/88/b9/0188b953d9cd5afa3d28baef76425810--fire-dragon-green-dragon.jpg Drake]], but Isabella states he is not a real dragon because he does not emit the same energy as a dragon.
* RunningGag: The fact that he is not a real dragon.
** [[LampshadeHanging Lampshaded]] by Isabella when he first appears.
** His ultimate attack is called [[BreathWeapon Dragon Sphere (Fake)]].
** When questioned about his identity by Xiang Ye he replies that he is "an evil and powerful dragon".
* WingShield: The [[RunningGag Dragon Wing Barrier (Fake)]] he uses to defend against Isabella makes his wings sturdier with boundary force.
