** If his actions regarding Cassie Cage, the Lin Kuei, the Edenian resistance and Li Mei's village in ''Fanfic/MortalKombatDesperation'' aren't enough, then when he claims to have [[FinalSolution massacred the Zaterrans]], [[ColdBloodedTorture allowed Kano and his thugs to have tortured Jacqui Briggs and Irene Hayabusa]], killed Vergil (Dante's brother), attacked the Mugen Tenshin, and destroyed the Shaolin/White Lotus Society just to spite Liu Kang, Kung Lao and Kung Jin shows that his ruthlessness and sadism knows no bounds.

* TheDreaded: Well, it's a no-brainer that his ex-allies fear and despise him, partly because they [[EvilCannotComprehendGood don't support his views on destroying Outworld]]. And most of his henchmen seem to obey Dark Raiden out of ''sheer'' terror.

* EvilCannotComprehendGood: He is unable to understand that not everybody shares his view on invoking Armageddon to destroy Outworld and the Netherrealm, or that they would support his actions. Many of his ex-allies are alienated by his tyranny and the atrocities he's committed so far, and some even refuse to join his side, [[BadBoss knowing how thoroughly despicable he is towards his henchmen]].
** He believes that Scorpion defected from him because of a lack of willpower, but it was actually his own ruthlessness and extremism that caused the former revenant to lose faith in him. The dark god's threat to have Takeda tortured and Jacqui raped if he defects was the breaking point for Hanzo, who was already dissatisfied with Raiden's brutality towards Cassie Cage and the Lin Kuei.

* BadassGrandpa: Well, he's been around for millions of years, and (after he CameBackWrong) is a being powerful enough to conquer and rule realms.

* TheCaligula: The Jinsei's corruption has made him go insane and adopt dictatorial methods to keep his former allies in line, but this has increased their resolve to go after him.

** And Raiden didn't expect [[spoiler:Sonya]] to use [[spoiler:Scarecrow's]] toxin on him and his forces, driving them mad and allowing her and S-F to finish them off.

* EvilIsPetty: Despite having higher goals and ambitions, Dark Raiden cannot resist committing unnecessarily cruel and petty things to people he's already screwed over, often to prove he can or just for a sick kick at their expense.

** In ''Desperation'', Raiden didn't expect Sonya and Kira to rescue Cassie when he and Kano kidnapped Cassie to ensure that her parents and allies wouldn't interfere. Also, threatening to torture Takeda would lead to Scorpion changing sides.

* TheDreaded: Well, it's a no-brainer that many of his ex-allies fear and despise him. And most of his henchmen seem to obey Dark Raiden out of ''sheer'' terror.

** D'Vorah even plans to defect from him, as showcased in one of Dark Raiden's intros.
** Kano and Tremor defect from him when he chose to support the Red Dragon.
** Mileena tells that he's not her master, and even seems to care for Outworld (despite the fact that she was incompetent in ruling Outworld).

* EvilCannotComprehendGood: Many of his ex-allies refuse to join his side, knowing how thoroughly despicable he is. In fact, his ruthlessness caused his former allies to be alienated by him.
** He believes that Scorpion defected from him because of a lack of willpower, but it was actually his own ruthlessness and extremism that caused the former revenant to lose faith in him. * MakeAnExampleOfThem: Kidnapping Cassie Cage, slaughtering the Lin Kuei and ordering the destruction of Li Mei's village to so he could keep his ArchEnemies in line. Ironically, his actions have only increased their resolve to defeat him.

** In the fanfic proper, his actions force Kotal Kahn, Fujin and Liu Kang to join forces to take him down.
** In Regime Superman's chapter, Jade/Delia summons him to fight Raiden when the Elder Gods refuse to stop him.
** In Batman's chapter, [[spoiler:Sonya]] is forced to act by [[spoiler:travelling to the Injustice Universe and steal Scarecrow's Fear Gas]].

* PsychoElectro: In one of his fatalities, he fries his opponent to death just like he did to Liu Kang (albeit accidently) in ''MK9''. But this time, it's ''very'' deliberate.
