* TheLastOfTheseIsNotLikeTheOthers: The last unlockable breed in ''MR1'''s encyclopedia, and the only one where regular breeds can be regenerated from [=CDs=] (albeit only from specific ones much like rare monsters). In addition, rare monsters cannot be obtained from combining in the first two games with two exceptions - one of them being Sketch as a possible result from combining a Scribble.

* TheLastOfTheseIsNotLikeTheOthers: Disks are the last species in ''MR1'''s encylopedia, but are available from the start of the game unlike every other species in the latter part of the order. Much like them however, they ''cannot'' be generated from [=CDs=] outside of the unique unknown subtype crossbreeds, and as such the only way to obtain a pure disk is to combine a Gooaal! or a Radial.

* SpellMyNameWithAnS

* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Localisations after ''2'' tend to transliterate the kana of their name, with Koropendora being the most common.

* SpellMyNameWithAnS: The name Durahan resulted from an incorrect transliteration of Dullahan into Japanese, and then back into English.

* BraggingRightsReward: In ''Advance'', while the Dragon species are not necessarily this, the unique Dragon Diva is definitely this since its only acquired after winning the Emperor Cup with it as the FinalBoss. On the brightside, it comes with 255 in every stats at birth, and Fairy Know trait but the game have basically ended at this point. Diva is still unlocked through the same means in ''Advance 2'' although with the way its presented this time around, its closer to a BonusBoss or a TrueFinalBoss. Regardless ''Advance 2'' have a lot of post game content to use Diva on and it was subsequently nerfed.

* BladeOnAStick: Every Centaur species has a spear.

* MakeMeWannaShout: Mews are known for their love of singing, and many of their attacks involve it in some way. However, they're better at reducing guts than causing much damage.

* WhipItGood: It uses its tentacles to strike at its opponents.
