By the end of the manga, it looks like they might build a friendlier relationship with Aki being much nicer to Yoshino.

* HilariouslyAbusiveChildhood: Due to being Aki's servant, she had to put up with Aki's whims while both were growing up. One time, Aki tied up Yoshino to a firework in an experiment to see how many fireworks were needed to get someone to the moon. In a realistic setting, Aki's experiment would have critically injured or even killed Yoshino, but since this is a romcom anime/manga, Yoshino only got a comical AbsurdPhobia of fireworks.

* InLoveWithLove: She confesses to Masamune that she was pursuing him in order to experience romance before a risky operation rather than out of genuine love. Near the end of the manga, however, Neko affirms she has come to love him for the person he is.

* FirstGirlWins: She's the girl Masamune has set his eyes on from the very start. [[spoiler:Despite all the twists and turns with other girls like Neko and Yoshino, Masamune chooses Aki as his girlfriend in the final chapter.]]
