Kazuko, more frequently referred to Wanko, is Momoyo's adoptive little sister. As a child she used to be a huge crybaby and hasn't entirely shed those traits yet. She works extremely hard to fulfill her dream of becoming an assistant master at the Kawakami temple and supporting her older sister. She joined the Kawakami family when Kazama and Yamato noticed her hanging around them watching in the distance and invited her. She was later adopted into the Kawakami family to prevent an unqualified distant relative from taking her in.

She doesn't dislike him – quite the opposite - and he isn't sure if he's attracted to her or not, but either way she quits running away after he saves her from poisoning when trying to hide out in the mountains so that she doesn't curse him. [[spoiler:Even then, though, she rejects his confession, though for a different reason this time: She doesn't have the self esteem to be in a relationship until she can get back into martial arts.]] After alllll of that, they finally do start dating.

* YesMan: When Yamato claims that he is not as big of a [[NoGuyWantsAnAmazon coward]] as the other men in the academy to Haou, she briefly changes the subject and then declares she's been practicing her signature. He tells her she sucks at it, so she acknowledges that he's not just some sycophantic hanger on.

The protagonist of Majikoi, Yamato is the co-founder of the Kazama Family, but not the leader. Surprisingly for the protagonist of an eroge, he emphasizes trickery and blatant cheating over any semblance of honor. Despite this, he still cares deeply for his friends and is over all a good guy.

* TheMaidenNameDebate: Quickly becomes Kuki Yamato in Monshiro’s afterstory since the Kuki family is about on par with the heads of first world nations. He quickly gains the status of a Kuki with his own personal attendant (Stacy or Lee) and treatment from servants equal to that of the Kuki siblings.

* AngerBornOfWorry: When everyone is talking to Wanko after [[spoiler:she runs away following her defeat]] they all try to cheer her up [[spoiler:until Momoyo arrives and slaps her before anything else for worrying her half to death.]]

* WithCatlikeTread: Chris enters her fight in Agave by yelling out that’s arriving unannounced. Uh, okay.

* ClingyJealousGirl: She's all over Yamato most of the time, but once he shows interest in someone else she backs off. Physically. However, it's made very clear that she's doing this so that she doesn't end up hated rather than not actually feeling any jealous or really giving up. If it doesn't work out she can snag him on the rebound and in many scenarios there's an option where if you pick the wrong choice she'll consider that to be reciprocation enough.

* BabiesEverAfter:[[spoiler:The epilogue of her route in the first game, which shows her heavily pregnant and about to give birth to her and Yamato's child.]]

* AnimalMotif: She makes a habit of acting like a cat sometimes. She sometimes adds "nyaa" to her sentances, has a "kitty face" as one of her smiles and even cosplays as a cat girl when she and Yamato have their role play sex on Halloween.

Then just out of curiosity, he spanks her again few times (if player chooses to), and again, rather than avoid "attack", she'd rather follow his hand with her eyes as he "lands hit". It isn't made clear whether her behavior is result of her [[ExtremeDoormat meekness]], because she [[CovertPervert enjoys it]], or because [[IfItsYouItsOkay its Yamato doing it]]. Given her overall characterization its most likely combination of all above.

* PaperThinDisguise: As Miss Kishido. She's convinced that it's a perfect disguise. Sadly, only people with a working brain could see through the deception as Wanko, Gakuto and Hazama are all fooled by it and Momoyo only sees through it because she can't hide her aura.

* PhenotypeStereotype: Blond, blue eyed dorky and emotional German girl.

* ComicallyMissingThePoint: Thanks to her naivete and sense of justice she tends to miss the point entirely. For example, she hears about “[[AManIsNotAVirgin becoming an adult this summer]]” and says she might do it first. By, you know, becoming self-sufficient at housework.

* WorldsStrongestWoman: Apparently the strongest person in the world. There are perhaps only three other people[[note]]Haou, Tesshin and Hume[[/note]] that are her equal and she can beat at least two of them since they're starting to get old if nothing else. There are a larger number of people like Ageha that can make her have to go all out, however.

* WorfEffect: Wanko can’t even get past the first round of the super serious no honest it's definitely a real tournament in Lee’s route. The one where you simply play dead. The writers clearly aren't taking her at all seriously anymore.

* HonorBeforeReason: She gets better about this before the route branching point, though, after seeing that Yamato cheats for the sake of his friend and has his own strong will to succeed rather than just being a lazy cheater.

* {{Ojou}}: Chris is often referred to as one by the other members of the family, though she gets better, particularly in her own path.

* OverusedRunningGag: Always tells Chris ridiculous lies about Japanese culture and she always believes them. The Kazama Family are a group of nine friends led by [[SupportingLeader Shouchi Kazama]], with the protagonist being Yamato Naoe, [[TheSmartGuy the group's strategist]]. He has five potential love interests in the group as well as two other male friends and a RobotBuddy who tags along frequently enough to be considered a member.
