Bonus Boss is a disambiguation

* BonusBoss: In the main story, she only appears to introduce you to Rocket Racer. The Time Trials are an optional side mode where the player must face her on every racetrack, and she is easily the toughest opponent in the game since she takes advantage of shortcuts and warp powerups.

Weapon Of Choice is now a disambig... and all these examples were misuse to begin with.

* WeaponOfChoice: Rocket Racer only picks up green bricks unless you prevent him from getting any, which is when he'll use rockets instead. He prefers the infamous warp turbo boost. Good luck, you'll need it.

to:

* OneSteveLimit: Averted, since Toys/LEGOLifeOnMars and LEGO Arctic each have a character named Doc who appears in this game. However, since both characters also share the same face, it's also possible that they might actually be the same character, thus playing this trope straight.

* DubNameChange: Also known as Barón von TyssenBaron von Tyssen (Spanish) and Mr. Hates (Danish) in the first game.
* FragileSpeedster: In LEGO Racers 2, Sam Sanister's Island Racer is one of the fastest cars in the game and can easily leave you in the dust. However, unlike Riegel's Red Planet Protector or the Berg, it is vulnerable to items and can even be destroyed like any regular racer's car.
* FunetikAksent: In LEGO Racers, Baron von Barron's text is spelled with V's instead of W's and Z's instead of S's. Averted in LEGO Racers 2.
* GoKartingWithBowser: He is the main villain of Toys/LEGOAdventurers, but is willing to compete in a friendly racing competition.
* GratuitousGerman: Baron von Barron uses the German conjunction "und" instead of "and" in the first game. Averted in the sequel.
* OffModel: Although he wears his epaulets in the first game's FMV opening cutscene, he does not wear his epaulets in either game. In LEGO Racers 2, his HookHand is replaced with an ordinary left hand.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: In some languages like Dutch, Baron von Barron's name is spelled "Baron von Baron" in LEGO Racers. In LEGO Racers 2, his surname is spelled Sanister instead of Sinister.
* SuddenNameChange: In LEGO Racers 2, Baron von Barron was renamed Sam Sanister.
* TheVonTropeFamily: Baron von Barron follows this naming scheme, at least in the non-Danish versions of the first game.
* WeaponOfChoice: Baron von Barron prefers blue bricks. Especially the third level shield.

!!Gypsy Moth
The queen Zotaxian from Toys/LEGOSpace, Gypsy Moth is the Hosting Champion of Circuit 6.

* AliensSpeakingEnglish: She is a Zotaxian, and she apparently speaks fluent English.

!!Workman Fred
A construction worker from LEGO Town, Fred is the first opponent on Sandy Bay.

* AllOfTheOtherReindeer: Fred is relentlessly mocked by the other Sandy Bay racers (including the player character) for using a Digger as his racecar. He doesn't take it well.

!!Mike the Postman
A postman based upon LEGO Town, Mike is the second opponent on Sandy Bay.

* OriginalGeneration: Although he is based upon LEGO Town, Mike the Postman is a ToylessToylineCharacter.

!!Fireman Gavin
A fireman based upon LEGO Town, Gavin is the third opponent on Sandy Bay.

* OriginalGeneration: Although he is based upon LEGO Town, Fireman Gavin is a ToylessToylineCharacter.

!!P.C. Bobby
A police chief from LEGO Town, Bobby is the fourth and final opponent on Sandy Bay.

!!Riegel
Ruler of the Martians from Toys/LEGOLifeOnMars, Riegel is the boss of Mars.

* AliensSpeakingEnglish: Riegel is a Martian who speaks perfect English (or Simlish), although he uses a different dialogue track.
* ExactWords: He boasts that his vehicle is indestructible. When the player character retorts that no car is indestructible, Riegel reveals that his vehicle is the HumongousMecha Red Planet Protector, much to the player character's shock.
-->Riegel: I never said my vehicle was a car... Prepare to race!!
* OffModel: While his physical minifigure has green skin, he has teal skin like all other Martians in LEGO Racers 2, and he is missing the tile on his torso.
* SoreLoser: Riegel gets angry upon his defeat and kicks his Red Planet Protector in frustration before storming off. While Sam Sanister and the Berg give you powerups as a reward for beating them, the player character has to resort to stealing Riegel's shield generator while he's not looking.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: LEGO Racesr 2 uses the "Riegel" spelling of his name, while some other sources call him Rigel.

!!The Berg
An Ice Monster who dwells in the Arctic, the Berg is the boss of Arctic World.

* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: After losing his race, the Berg is depressed, but the player character compliments his racing abilities. This considerably cheers him up, and the Berg thanks the player by rewarding them with giant wheels for greater grip.
* HulkSpeak: The Berg speaks in simple broken English and refers to himself with ThirdPersonPerson, fitting his Hulk-like appearance.
* AnIcePerson: In addition to being literally made of ice, the Berg creates icicles in his wake.

!Minor Racers
In LEGO Racers, you compete against Governor Broadside, Rob-N-Hood, Ann Droid, and Pharaoh's Mummy in Circuits 1 and 4; Islander, Royal King, Commander Cold, and Achu in Circuits 2 and 5; Willa the Witch, Blackjack Hawkins, Sam Sinister, and Alpha Dragonis in Circuits 3 and 6; and Admiral, Black Knight, Nova Hunter, and Gail Storm in Circuit 7.

In LEGO Racers 2, you compete against Baron Rosso (PC/console), Scooter (GBA), Frankie Solido, Johnny Thunder, Pippin Read, Mr. Cunningham, Mac, and Cassiopeia on Dino Island, Mars, and Arctic World. On Xalax, you instead race against the Ramas: Lightor, Warrior, Ghost, Freeze, Chill, Duster, and Snake.

* AdaptedOut: Baron Rosso does not appear in the UsefulNotes/GameBoyAdvance version of LEGO Racers 2, while Scooter does not appear in the PC/console version.
* AliensSpeakingEnglish: Warrior is a Rama who speaks perfect English (or Simlish).
* AllThereInTheScript: The only way you would know the names of Baron Rosso and Frankie Solido is by looking in the game files of LEGO Racers 2, since they are never mentioned in the game itself.
* CompositeCharacter: "Governor Broadside" is actually combining the name of Governor Broadside (the Imperial Soldiers' leader) and the physical appearance of Admiral Woodhouse (the Imperial Guards' leader).
* DemotedToExtra: In LEGO Racers 2, Achu and Slyboots only appear as [=NPCs=] during Explore mode, and they no longer partake in races.
* DubNameChange: When set to various languages, the first LEGO Racers gives certain characters different names instead of literal translations, with these being some of the most notable cases:
** Governor Broadside: Governador FlinnGovernor Flinn (Spanish), Kapitein BakboordCaptain Portside (Dutch)
** Ann Droid: Indradroid (Spanish), Robotina (Dutch)
** Pharaoh's Mummy: Farao Hoteps MumiePharaoh Hotep's Mummy (Danish)
** Islander: Uhu (Danish)
** Royal King: Koning LeeuwenhartKing Lionheart (Dutch)
** Commander Cold: Capitán HieloCaptain Ice (Spanish), Capitano GhiaccioCaptain Ice (Italian), IjskapiteinIce Captain (Dutch)
** Achu: TempelkoningTemple King (Dutch)
** Willa the Witch: Heksen HyliaHylia the Witch (Danish), Hella de HeksHella the Witch (Dutch)
** Sam Sinister: Slyboots (Danish), Sluwe SamSly Sam (Dutch)
** Blackjack Hawkins: BarbanegraBlackbeard (Spanish), Jack il FalcoJack the Falcon (Italian)
** Alpha Dragonis: Dragon AlfaDragon Alpha (Italian), Chamon (Danish)
** Nova Hunter: Aramis la CazadoraAramis the Huntress (Spanish)
** Gail Storm: TormentosaStormy (Spanish)
* TheGenericGuy: Ann Droid, Islander, Willa the Witch and Gail Storm all use carbon copies of Black Knight's racing car, for some reason. Everyone else gets their personal custom car in the first LEGO Racers.
* GoKartingWithBowser: Willa the Witch, Sam Sinister, Alpha Dragonis, Black Knight, and Mr. Cunningham are all villains who partake in this friendly racing championship.
* HumanoidAliens: Unlike the later Martians, Alpha Dragonis has a standard minifigure build like all other Zotaxians, although his face is considerably more alien-looking than Gypsy Moth's face.
* NoNameGiven:
** King Richard is only identified as the "Royal King" and Cannonball Cordoba/Don Diego de LEGO/Sergeant Speedy is only called "The Admiral" in LEGO Racers. The Islander and Black Knight are also left unnamed, though to be fair, they had no names in the original lines.
** Two characters in the second game (Frankie Solido and Baron Rosso) aren't named in the game, as they only show up as racers and never in explore mode as someone you can talk to. The only way you'd be able to know is by hacking into the game files.
* NonIndicativeName: Blackjack Hawkins' Spanish name translates to "Blackbeard", but he actually has a grey beard.
* OriginalGeneration: Although loosely inspired by the LEGO Town theme, Frankie Solido and Baron Rosso are original to LEGO Racers 2 and are not based upon any toyline characters.
* Pirate: Blackjack Hawkins is a pirate from the Toys/LEGOPirates theme.
* PreviousPlayerCharacterCameo: Scooter is one of the default playable characters in LEGO Racers, and returns as an opponent racer in the GBA version of LEGO Racers 2.
* SecretCharacter: Using a ClassicCheatCode, you can play as Cassiopeia on any Mars race.
* SharpDressedMan: Sam Sinister/Slyboots,
* ShesAManInJapan: Nova Hunter's DubNameChange in Spanish is "Aramis la Cazadora", which translates to "Aramis the Huntress".
* SpellMyNameWithAnS:
** Rob N. Hood has his name written as "Rob-N-Hood".
** Black Jack Hawkins has his name written as "Blackjack Hawkins".
** Alpha Draconis has his name spelled "Alpha Dragonis", although it is spelled correctly in the Dutch version.
** Pippin Reed has her name spelled "Pippin Read" in the GBA version of LEGO Racers 2. In the PC/console verison, her surname simply isn't mentioned.
* SuddenNameChange: In LEGO Racers 2, Sam Sinister and Gail Storm were renamed Slyboots and Pippin Read, respectively. Though, in the Danish version, this is Trope by Slyboots, since that was what he was called in the first game.
* VocalDissonance: The first game mixed up the voices of dang near every opponent (the PC version, for example, gets exactly one of the twenty-three opponents). While Rob-N-Hood speaking with the voice of Captain Redbeard isn't much of a deal, hearing Willa the Witch TalkLikeAPirate in the grumpy voice of Blackjack Hawkins is all kinds of wrong.

!Minor [=NPCs=]
The Explore mode of LEGO Racers 2 allows you to meet and talk to many other characters who do not compete in the Galactic Racing Championship.

* AliensSpeakingEnglish: Martians speak perfect English (or Simlish), although they use a different dialogue track.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Alexia Sinister's name is written as "Alexia Sanister".
