* UnwittingPawn: Despite being the undisputed {{ChessMaster}} of the series, ''Over Quartzer'' reveals that [[spoiler: him choosing Sougo as the candidate to become the Demon King of Time was AllAccordingToPlan of the Quartzers so they can KillAndReplace the Heisei era of Kamen Rider with a timeline ruled over by them.]]

* UnderestimatingBadassery: Swartz has spent the entire series forcing Sougo to become Oma Zi-O to steal his powers. The second Sougo finally gains the power Swartz seeks, he instantly attempts to steal it only to realize he can't.

** Finally Subverted in the final episode and by his own hand. [[spoiler:It's also a case of HoistByHisOwnPetard combined with a case of BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor. He killed Geiz in his attempt to kill Sougo when he died TakingTheBullet for him. This leads Sougo to transform into Oma Zi-O. At first he is estatic at the idea of finally being to obtain the greatest power of all by stealing it from him... only to realize that Oma Zi-O's power cannot be stolen. When Sougo proceeds to effortlessly destroy everything he throws at him, he tries to escape only for his sister to betray him. In his rage he kills her, not knowing that he had sealed his own fate with that deed. With the death of his friends, Sougo no longer has any reason to hold back against killing him, needless to say he goes on a RoaringRampageOfRevenge and kills him on the spot with a full powered Rider Kick.]]

* EvenEvilHasStandards: PlayedWith: When he was used by both Swartz and Ora in the Kikai arc, he hesitated going with the latter back to Swartz. * SpottingTheThread: Heure points out the changing story about the Day of Oma as the thread, having noticed how at some point it changed from being about the day to decide who would be king to the day of Zi-O and Geiz's final battle. This is one of the factors that leads him to start investigating Swartz's plans in more detail, as it becomes clear that the story he was originally given makes no sense.
