* BadassGay: He may be as CampGay as one could be and even be perceived as a sissy villain. But he's a OneManArmy who can kill armed bandits and samurai of over fifty men with a single blow and given time, easily obliterate hundreds. He gives Inuyasha and his companions a TOUGH TIME.

* SissyVillain: Extremely effeminate, looks, talks, acts, and dresses like a woman, is obsessed with fashion, hates women, and is very openly gay, but he is also a dangerous psychopath BadassGay with a very cool sword.

* BadassNormal: Aside from the jewel shards reanimating them, the Band of Seven are all just humans that have no supernatural abilities of their own.. Everything they can do is from raw skill. The borderline exceptions are Ginkotsu who is a cyborg and Kyoukotsu who is a giant.

* TheUndead: Brought back by Naraku to fight his enemies via Shikon Jewel shards. As such, it takes a ''lot'' to finally kill them.

* NinjaPirtateZombieRobot: Basically, a zombie cyborg in the Feudal Era of Japan that also later become a tank.

* EvenEvilHasStandards: What sets him apart from Renkotsu? He won't betray his friends.

* {{BFS}}: Banryuu (“Barbarian Dragon”) his halberd (not [[IThoughtItMeant THAT kind]], stupid!) is even bigger even than Inuyasha's. And he can wield it one-handed with such ease!

* InterplayOfSexAndViolence: God yes.

* {{Gonk}}: An obession for him.

* LighterAndSofter:In the anime, Mukotsu is a sadistic poisoner who likes to kill victims, but he also wants a woman to be wedded in a bizarre manner, but still tries to kill them if they refuse and is very self conscious on his {{Gonk}} looks. In the manga, he is a straight up rapist and his {{Gonk}} looks are his BerserkButton.

* AmbiguouslyHuman: He claims to be a human, but is hard to swallow, considering how big he is
* AttackOfThe50FootWhatever: Seriously, how could he be that large!!??

* BackFromTheDead: [[spoiler: And he died knowing he had fun because he got to go down fighting in a cooler way than when he first died]]

* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: Unlike the other members, he's honestly and totally loyal to Bankotsu. In the anime, is shown that they were together even before forming the Band of Seven.

* EvilGenius: He's technically the second in command and top strategist, but it's obvious that Jakotsu is the real right hand man of Bankotsu.

* TheDarkChick: He's definitely the odd one out in the FiveBadBand that the Seven eventually become.

* TheBrute: Serves as this with Kyokotsu, but is even less brainier than he is

* TheBrute: Shares this with Ginkotsu, but focuses more on brute strength rather than offensive force

* {{Badass}}: Especially in a world filled with divine powered priests and powerful demons, he manages to kick ass by just being ridiculously strong for his size

* TheDreaded: All seven of them were feared by all people, even years after their deaths.

* AffablyEvil: For a band of murderers, they are TrueCompanions, {{Determinator}}s and downright quirky, especially Bankotsu and Jakotsu. [[FauxAffablyEvil Renkotsu]], on the other hand, feigns kindness to hide his treacherous nature.
