The oldest of Killua's brothers, Illumi is acquainted with Hisoka and is on a roughly equal level of power as him. Illumi shows no emotion at all, though he's subservient to nobody except his clients. His abilities, both nen and normal, revolve around needles. He can stick needles into himself to change his appearance, and he can also stick needles into other people to control their movements or, if need be, to deflate them. Illumi planted a needle in Killua that functioned as a PowerLimiter and gave him the impulse to back off from fights he wasn't sure he'd win. Killua noticed this during the Chimera Ants arc and removed the needle.

Instead, it is the person who she pesters next who will be asked to pay for it. Failure to grant four requests results in the both pestered person and at least one of their loved ones dying. Depending on how great the at-gunpoint wish is, more people die -- who dies also depends on how much time the pestered "client" has spent with those people, with the longest being higher on the dead list. [[spoiler: However, the simplest way to circumvent the price ''and'' reset the whole thing? Wish for something both unselfish and positive for somebody or somebodies else. Or, just be Killua.]]
* HealingMagicIsTheHardest: [[spoiler:Nanika can grant most wishes without a care for location but wishes to heal someone require that she physically touch them, and after the healing, she becomes exhausted and needs a long sleep.]]

[[spoiler: As it turns out, Alluka/Nanika's twisted form of EquivalentExchange only applies when granting cruel or greedy wishes. If they're asked to heal another on the asker's behalf or to do some other genuinely unselfish deed, Nanika just gets tired.]]
* LaserGuidedKarma: Nanika's wishes operate on some inscrutable "morality" system of sorts, where she continually pesters people for more and more severe requests. If they deny her, she will continue to pester other people until it reaches a peak at four, wherein she kills the fourth person via some unknown means. [[spoiler: It's eventually revealed that this is due to the quality of the wish -- asking for material goods, cruel acts, or selfish needs causes Nanika's pestering cycle, while asking her for a selfless or kind wish just tuckers her out. Though this still makes her dangerous, it does make her significantly less dangerous than initially assumed.]]

* RealityWarper: [[spoiler:What that wish-granting ability of Nanika's basically amounts to. She doesn't seem to have any limits beyond the whole pester thing.]]

* PesterPower: Part of the mechanics of Nanika's powers invokes this; she focuses on one individual and asks requests from them, and as Milluki notes, once she's chosen someone to pester, she won't switch to another person until they either succeed or fail the requesit number of requests. She also has to know that person's name beforehand or she won't ask any requests from them. However, she can only give requests when the target is in a position to hear them, so if they physically distance themselves from Alluka/Nanika, they can indefinitely delay her requests with seemingly no time limit in place. Tsubone exploits this by fulfilling two requests and then leaving before they're asked a new one to postpone the activation of the wish later.

* AcquiredPoisonImmunity: Part of their TrainingFromHell as children. Killua could drink cans of orange soda spiked with heavy-duty laxatives as if they were completely normal during the Hunter exams, and during the hit on Chrollo, his father Silva completely {{No Sell}}s Chrollo's poisoned knife, which was covered in enough neurotoxin to paralyze a ''whale'', yet Silva treated it like a papercut.

* BoobsOfSteel: A large woman and stacked, she has the largest boobs of any woman in the series. She's also strongest of the female butlers as well as one of the most capable female Nen users in the series.

* Really700YearsOld: He is as old as Netero but aged considerably worse, though he is still rather spry walking unsupported in his ''at least'' fifteenth century of life.

* Really700YearsOld: He looks incredibly old, but is actually even older than he manages to seem.

* SensingYouAreOutmatched: Powerful as he is, he's experienced enough to recognize his own limits and will freely admit to being weaker than someone if prompted. He admits to being significantly weaker than Netero, wanted nothing to do with the Chimera Ants and also internally admitted that a fight to the death with Chrollo would probably be a coin toss rather than a certain victory.

* ToughLove: Oh, boy... yes. One example? Throw your six-year-old son at a [[GladiatorGames gladiatorial]] [[TheTower tower of death]] [[TrainingFromHell to work his way up]] [[StealthMentor to the 200th Floor]]. Given what can very easily happen on that floor to Nen newbies, and you've got to wonder... Add all the torture, murder, and poison training (and how to endure it) his kids get and it leaves you only one sentence: "[[TricksterMentor What the hell, Silva]]?". But, it's not done because he hates them, but because that's how Zoldycks grow up and he loves them.

* EvilCannotComprehendGood: Allows Killua to leave the Zoldyck household and travel with Gon after listening to Killua explain his experience during the Hunter Exam. It's later revealed that he didn't do this out of the goodness of his heart, but because he believes that Killua is just [[RebelliousSpirit going through a phase]] that he'll eventually outgrow.

* ManipulativeBastard: This trope literally defines Illumi, if his nen type, ability and treatment of his family, Killua especially, makes it clear.
