In ''The Untamed'', much is made of the fact that they're a civilian branch of the clan made up of farmers and physicians who never took part in any fighting and are innocent of the main clan's misdeeds. This is not the case in the novel, where all of them except for Granny and A-Yuan are combat-capable cultivators who were under Wen Qing's direction at the supervisory office in Yiling and the question of what they were or weren't guilty of during the war is much murkier. That said, in ''all'' versions of the canon, their desire to stay away from fighting once the war is over is genuine.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: After the war, all they wanted was to be left alone to restart their lives as a peaceful community. But as fierce corpses, even with their small number, they're strong and aggressive enough to kill off a horde of at least a hundred other zombies that were being controlled by the Yin Tiger Tally.
